Khatami coming to America where Nothing is Real

and nothing to get hung about. What is this? The Strawberry fields? Too many Chesterfields? Are we living in an alternate or parallel reality?

Tiger at Observanda says:
"Khatami is allowed in the country by Condi Rice and George Bush and We are Supposed to Believe We're Fighting A WAR? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be here soon. APPARENTLY, WE ARE NOT FIGHTING A WAR ON TERROR - WE ARE ENGAGED IN A "PC ACTION". He says You think those other two (Khatami and Ahmadinejad) are the problem? Iran is run by a religious Cleric, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei," who he identifies as the "Head of the Snake."

Tiger is an old Airborne man. He understands that Islamofascists want to kill us. In his world, when you get too bellicose and threatening he won't allow you get too close and if you somehow manage to cold-cock or ambush him, "dialogue" can only happen much, much later. Long after the proverbial "can" has been opened.

I'm guessing he never had anger management classes.

  1. Hello whit, thanks for stepping up. I am hoping some of the others wish to join the team of posters.As you know it is a different feeling to initiate the post. Glad to see teresita joined us. She has some tough bark on her and we all respect that. I just got of the French TGV train from Paris in Montpellier France. Serious jet lag but I am going to take a stroll and visit some art galleries.

    It just ain't a War we are engaged in. Said so over a year ago, Mr Bush's actions continue to confirm it.

    Was visting with Colonel Happerset yesterday when some Army Rangers stopped by to see him. These old line Army officers were of a mind.
    Time to leave Iraq to Iraqis, they said.
    Only the Iraqi would be willing to kill other Iraqi in the numbers required, to end what they called a "Civil War".
    They used Saddam as an example of the type of "Ruler" the Iraqi will require, for stability and security.

    Yeah, but if you graduate from there, at least your family knows they have a good chance of dying if it ever comes to a choice between a terrorists well-being and their lives.

  10. Last night, my wife watched the HBO production “Baghdad ER.” I did not join her. Purely by chance, the death of a life-long family friend was covered. On the eve of 911, I am reminded why we fight and a letter written for publication:

    “On 6 June 2005, the sixty-first anniversary of D-Day, Brian died while serving his country.

    “Today, my wife is taking Brian home. She promised his family that she would keep an eye on their boy. Over the months, she and Brian kept up a steady stream of e-mail. She would ask about his condition and he would ask her to take care of his injured first sergeant when he arrived at LRMC. Two days before his death, they corresponded. She asked if he or his pals needed anything. He said no, all was well, but he was really looking forward to R&R.

    “Today, she met him on the tarmac at Ramstein. As promised, she will do her best to take care of Brian. She will see him home.

    “He was a beautiful boy: proud, well mannered, optimistic, and (as is the wont of twenty year old young men) full of himself. I mean no disrespect to his valor; I speak as an old man saddened by the loss of one so young.

    “I have one question: When will we honor him, and all those killed and wounded in Iraq, with victory? As we honor those who made victory in Europe possible on that blustery day sixty-one years ago, can we do less for Brian?
