COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Why is Bush calling for Kosovo's Independence?

Is there any limit to this man's foolishness? What strategic interest does the US have in encouraging a narco-criminal Islamic state appearing in Western Europe? There surely are enough things stirred up in enough places without President Bush proving once again he belongs somewhere else far from any office of responsibility. Does he not see the irony in his support for open US borders and amnesty, and what has happened to Kosovo?

Since the NATO/UN intervention in 1999, Kosovo has become the crime capital of Europe. The sex slave trade is flourishing. The province has become an invaluable transit point for drugs en route to Europe and North America. Ironically, the majority of the drugs come from another state "liberated" by the West, Afghanistan. Members of the demobilized, but not eliminated, KLA are intimately involved in organized crime and the government. The UN police arrest a small percentage of those involved in criminal activities and turn them over to a judiciary with a revolving door that responds to bribes and coercion. The objective of the Albanians is to purge all non-Albanians, including the international community's representatives, from Kosovo and ultimately link up with mother Albania thereby achieving the goal of "Greater Albania." The campaign started with their attacks on Serbian security forces in the early 1990s and they were successful in turning Milosevic's heavy-handed response into worldwide sympathy for their cause. There was no genocide as claimed by the West -- the 100,000 allegedly buried in mass graves turned out to be around 2,000, of all ethnic origins, including those killed in combat during the war itself.

The Kosovo-Albanians have played us like a Stradivarius. We have subsidized and indirectly supported their violent campaign for an ethnically pure and independent Kosovo. We have never blamed them for being the perpetrators of the violence in the early '90s and we continue to portray them as the designated victim today in spite of evidence to the contrary. When they achieve independence with the help of our tax dollars combined with those of bin Laden and al-Qaeda, just consider the message of encouragement this sends to other terrorist-supported independence movements around the world.
-Maj-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie, now retired, commanded UN troops during the Bosnian civil war of 1992

Bush calls for Kosovo's independence

SMS NDTV

Sunday, June 10, 2007 (Tirana, Albania)
US President George W Bush, receiving a hero's welcome as the first American president to visit Albania, said on Sunday there cannot be endless dialogue about achieving independence for Serbia's province of Kosovo.

''Sooner rather than later you have got to say 'Enough is enough, Kosovo is independent,''' Bush said during a news conference with the Prime Minister of Albania.

Bush, standing alongside Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha, urged Albania to help maintain calm and peace in Kosovo as the province's independence process moves forward. He said any plan to extend talks must have the goal of 'certain independence.'

Mr Bush said he was “worried about expectations not being met” in Kosovo, where 90 percent of the population are ethnic Albanians demanding independence from Serbia and where Nato leads a peacekeeping force of 17,000 troops.

  12. What happened was: They all passed through there on their way to conquer Mesopotamia, OR, on their way as they were Fleeing from those who had just conquered them in Mesopotamia.

This would include every church group, and boy and girl scout troop in the universe.

  13. "intelligence reports" and Bush

This combination of four words contains 1) a probable oxymoron, 2) a debatable moron and 3) a fascinating mixture of both.

  16. And so say all of us, General McKenzie. Although that one bit,

...ultimately link up with mother Albania thereby achieving the goal of "Greater Albania."

is not neccesarily so, since the Tosc lowland Albanians dominate Albania while the Gheg highlanders predominate in Kosovo. The Gheg (whose clans now span nothern Albania, nothern Macedonia, Kosovo and Presevo valley of Serbia, as well as fanning out across the civilized world as "refugees") are delighted with their Kosovo just the way it is, since Kosovo the country would have to impose border controls, be answerable for the actions of its citizens etc etc.

Kosovo is the no. 1 cesspit of Europe. We (y'all the US, NATO and me) invaded a Christian nation against international law in order to save those poor wee muslim Kosovars, who were already the balkan bandit kings back before the war - there is a good reason the Serbs were beating up on them! Before us their best buddies were al Quaida, and the Clinton US government happily ignored the 1998 state department listing of the KLA as a terrorist organization to go to war in support of it.

Who are the patrons of the family Bush?

Who benefits from US pokicies, primarily?

    If not the Sauds.

  20. OT--An old argument heats up. Death Penalty Deters Crime, Studies Say Back when I was in school this was a big argument with most studies saying it didn't, as I recall. My view? Keep your own self clean, you'll be ok. Was reading an article in the Sunday paper about two 16 yr olds in Pocatello, killed a girl, after making a video saying how they were going to do it, by stabbing her something like 80 times. Jury convicts both, first degree. What do you do with that? They're 16.

  21. Hang 'em, bob, you hang 'em high.

Be done with them, do not waste another of society's moments upon them.

Won't happen, of course. We'll warehouse them both, for the next few decades.

  23. Panama vs Cuba, this one, no doubt as to who to cheer for in this one.
Mexico was losing to Honduras, 2-1, late in the 2nd half. Politics through soccer, kinda fun.

They need to tweak the rules, to allow for higher scores. If they want to breach the North American video market.

  24. Go Panama Canalers! I admit though, both soccer and hockey--two games I just don't get the 'feel' of. Looks like a lot of guys just running or skating around in circles to me.

Best basketball game I ever saw personally in my life--Idaho(no. 6 in the nation that year--how rare is that?) vs Iowa in the NCAA regionals at Pullman. Our guys played perfect, our big guys handled their big guys, who were considerably bigger than ours. We had the best backcourt combo in the nation that year, I think. Absolutley beatiful game. Almost brings a tear to the eye to think back about it. Last game I ever went to with my dad. Course, we had a let down next game and were out of it.

  27. Lute Olsen and the UofA always fills the AZ bill for competitive Bball. Outshines our local ASU program, year after year. But Baseball, ASU used to be tops, have not tracked it lately.

Soccer is more fun if you take an emotional interest, enjoyable to see Cuba losing. They are so far.

The Mexican announcers are pretty nuetral, but sometimes, they're over the top, biased. Especially if a Mexican team is on the field. Not fair or balanced, then.

  28. Winners are popular, bob.
Mr Bush is handing the mussulmen of Albania a great big V, for Victory.

Makes a mockery of all those who believed that Mr Bush was fighting Islam. With his actions.

The actions that make his Religion of Peace rhetoric pale in comparison.
One is only rhetoric, the Albanian gains in Kosovo, those are actionable achievements. A big step forward for the Saudi factions. Wahabbists on the march, aided and abetted by the US.

We are not at War with Islam, we have their backs.

Just like the US Army and the Iraqi. Cheaper to hire Iraqis, then send a US soldier or Marines.

    What's the difference, in outcome?

  35. I was wondering if they knew what they were getting into with those horses. I was talking to a lady just a few days ago that knows and has horses, and I asked her about the wild horses. Stay away from that, she said, tough to train, and handle. I know zero about horses other than people around here often get in trouble for not caring for them properly. This lady ticked off all the stuff you have to do on a regular basis. No thanks, I'll continue growing beans. And my daughter is old enough now, she doesn't bug me about getting a horse, like she used to.

  36. Nice looking. Last time I was on a horse, I remember getting off, and sitting on a rock, and thinking how soft the rock felt.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd advise against it, 'cept if you want to spend some cash, less than a pickup truck, but not much less. Especially if you think a lot of your daughter. 1,100 pds of living beast, if you get a smaller one. Four hard feet, tough teeth.

It a head butt contest, the horse will win. So, for a loved daughter, a 12 year old super made machine. Nothing less, if you like to sleep soundly.

Mr Reeves, he was riding a good horse, which balked at a jump, I believe is the story. I've been dumped more than once, so has everyone I've known who ridden a bunch.

    Kinda an addiction, horses.
Best left alone, given the choice.

  38. Horses and motorcycles, best stay away. I've never known anyone who has ridden cycles for long that hasn't had some trouble. My insurance agent bought a Harley, dead within three months, on the road between the universities here. Drunk student got him.
