COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Report From Nairobi

The UN Climate Change Traveling Medicine Show
is full swing in Nairobi and as promised, thousands of world citizens are enjoying the show.

But there's alway a party pooper and this U.S Senator just wants to spoil everyone else's fun:
Senator calls UN climate meeting "brainwashing"

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate's most vocal global warming skeptic, James Inhofe, on Thursday dismissed a U.N. meeting on climate change as "a brainwashing session."

It didn't take a World Acclaimed Climatologist to see this coming, in fact, the Elephant Bar nailed it last week when we advertised The UN Climate Change Traveling Medicine Show. We correctly said then "It's all about the money."

Inhofe did not attend the Nairobi meeting but said some of his staff did.

"What we learned in Nairobi is ... that the real focus has little to do with the fate of the planet and more to do with money -- who has it and who wants it," he said.

The Climate Change hysterics have gone beyond rational and now embrace the theology of the ecosystem:
And Man created the plastic bag and the tin and aluminum can and the cellophane wrapper and the paper plate, and this was good because Man could then take his automobile and buy all his food in one place and He could save that which was good to eat in the refrigerator and throw away that which had no further use. And soon the earth was covered with plastic bags and aluminum cans and paper plates and disposable bottles and there was nowhere to sit down or walk, and Man shook his head and cried: "Look at this Godawful mess." -Art Buchwald, 1970

At Nairobi, one scientist even told the gathered assembly that air pollution may be our salvation.

While the world's climate scientists grapple with finding a way to turn volcanoes on and off, you can do your part.

Drink a beer and save the world.

  2. I think at some point a discussion of euthanizing a thread might be in order.

That first thread this morning had all kinds of potential for screaing and yelling, divisiveness, name calling but it was preempted way too soon. It would have also shown very quickly how PC the EB is or isn't.
I mean "Black men can't do higher Mathematics" vs. "White men can't Jump"

Why does the middle class stay so middle class and take the crap?
Maybe wee'll return to that discussion one day.

  13. I think it was the hunting--the closer you get to the equator, the more abundant the game resources. up in europe, it was band together to grow food--and protect the fields--or die.
