The Mr Rogers Presidency.


It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

I've always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please,
Won't you please?

    Lovely.
    The only problem with the description/analogy, is that Fred Rogers was very good and effective at what he did.
    But of course, we aren't calling it the Fred Rogers Presidency, so what the hey!

    On Thurs Dennis Miller did a moving and accurate description of Fred and his work.
    Truly a World apart from the whores, prostitutes and exhibitionist freaks, propaganda artists, pornographers, and child molesters given such high profile on the Tube.

    Fred got into TV because he was so offended by what was being beamed to children in the 50's!
    Think how fast he spins today!

    Another problem with the description:
    I met a guy here on a boat once that lived down the block from Fred in Pittsburgh. (I think)
    He related a story about two high school girls riding their horses across Fred's lawn, and Fred coming out yelling at them.

    Present incarnation of W the ex-cowpoke would probably call Condi for a consult, after directing Tony Snow to announce that we knew of no *operational* connection between the girls and Al Queda ASAP.

    He would also direct Laura to have the staff bring him a glass of warm milk, and a tape and transcript of the Lord's Prayer.
