COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Public Services and so-called Public Servants

Today, Barack Obama is to give some fatherly or presidential advise to children in the American public school system (government schools). Barack Obama never used the American public school system. The Washington DC Public School System is not being used by his children. They, as their father before them, are in private school.

If Obama were honest, he would disclose to the school children his reservations about actually using American public education. That it was not good enough for him, nor his children. If he were honest, he would give American children the opportunity not to use the public school system. If he were honest, he would offer them vouchers.

An early, but since changed lesson plan, provided by the government, asked the children to write about ways they could help the president. Perhaps, if Obama were honest, he would have asked the children if they would prefer a choice as to what school to attend, as was his fortune.

Later in the week, Obama will talk to the American people about public health care. He and our other rulers and masters have an opportunity to offer a public option to the uninsured. They can take one for the team by announcing that ALL federal employees from the President on down will use the same plan.

They won't. They will continue using their gold plated plan, just as many of them, including Obama, will not use public schools, as the unions will have their gold plated health plans exempted from taxes.

These obvious contradictions will not be examined by the mouth pieces of the progressive left. Here is a clip of an honest reporter who tried.
