COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

SENIOR ISRAELI ADVISOR ON ISRAELI GROUND ATTACK ON GAZA: “Every day that passes makes the possibility more evident,” the official told a handful of international journalists in a briefing at the military’s Tel Aviv headquarters. “We can hurt them very hard from the air but not get rid of them.” He spoke on the condition of anonymity under military protocol.

THE FOLLOWING IS A VIDEO OF FOUR CHILDREN THE NOBLE IDF DID GET RID OF:

Netanyahu:

Many world leaders … understand our battle against Hamas terrorists, who are seeking to fire rockets on our cities. They killed an Israeli citizen yesterday, but they’re targeting millions of our citizens, directly targeting them with rocket fire which is a war crime, and also using their own civilians as human shields – another war crime.
We’ve been trying to find a solution to this problem. Yesterday I accepted the Egyptian ceasefire proposal. This was a proposal that was endorsed by the UN Secretary General and by the Arab League. Israel accepted the ceasefire, Hamas rejected it. We held our fire for six hours, and during that time Hamas continue to barrage our cities with rockets. Hamas thus shut the door to a diplomatic solution and it therefore bears the sole responsibility for the continuation of the violence. It’s responsible for the civilian deaths, the innocent deaths of Palestinians that it uses as human shields, and it’s responsible for the deaths of Israeli civilians and the terror rocketing of Israeli civilians.
I believe that all members of the international community should unequivocally support Israel’s right to defend itself. None of the countries that I know would adopt a different position … Israel will continue to do so until peace and quiet are restored. This is our right; this is our duty; we will act by it.
Italy has one advantage over us. It has sea from three sides. But imagine that your cities of Rome, Florence and Milan were rocketed indiscriminately by a terrorist group next to you. You wouldn’t accept it. And you’d fight back. And that’s what Israel is doing. We’re fighting back.
Those who are firing at us are not seeking a political solution. Those who are firing at us are seeking the disappearance of Israel, the destruction of Israel. And so for them we have one answer: we will fight you and we will defeat you. … I think that the most important thing vis-à-vis Gaza is to ensure that Gaza is demilitarized from rockets and from the attack tunnels that Hamas is seeking, is building into Israel.
This is an important part of the long-term solution but in the immediate moment, Israel has to take the actions to defend its citizens as any normal country would against terrorists who are committing double war crimes of targeting civilians and hiding behind civilians.

The latest round? Kidnapping, torture, murder and dismembering the 3 israeli kids...

      Sorry, but war is hell...

Now Hamas is all proud about shelling all of israel, bragging about how all civilian jews are targets and you bitch like a school girl that people tragically die...

Hamas owns this, all the dead in Gaza? Hamas's fault....

they could have spent the billions they used on creating a better society instead they invested in rockets and missiles.

The bomb shelters they have? are for the hamas leaders, not the human shields...

you going to LIST every single dead and wounded palestinian that the IDF SUPPOSEDLY kills?

well get ready, its going to get a hole lot longer since hamas has promised to kill every single jew in Israel...

JERUSALEM: The Israeli army has warned some 100,000 Palestinians in the eastern Gaza Strip to evacuate their homes, military sources said Wednesday.
AFP correspondents saw flyers dropped over the Zeitun neighbourhood southeast of Gaza City, and residents there and elsewhere also reported receiving recorded phone and text messages urging them to evacuate by 0500 GMT.

Prompting thousands to flee, Israel warned some residents of the crowded Gaza Strip to leave their homes Sunday and then unleashed an aerial bombardment of sites it says are used by Islamic militants to launch rockets at major Israeli population centers.

About 17,000 people from the Beit Lahiya area in the northern Gaza Strip streamed for protection into United Nations-run facilities. Israeli warplanes hammered the vacated area Sunday afternoon and evening, hitting alleged launch sites and homes of members of extremist groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The assault was carried out mostly by air, but the Israeli navy also reportedly fired shells from the sea.

  4. The 1.7 million residents of the Gaza Strip have been struggling to maintain a sense of normality in their daily lives as the Israeli bombardment of the coastal territory brings further devastation to an already battered population.

Despite the difficulties the population of Gaza hope for a peaceful future.

“This war appears to only be targetting innocent people. I don’t see why the fighting should continue. We want to live a decent life and would like to see an end to the blockade by Israel. The Palestinian people are deprived of everything,” said one resident of Gaza.

“We need a real peace initiative so that we can live. The current situation doesn’t allow us have a real life,” explained one man.

The ongoing conflict adds further difficulties for a population that has been enduring shortages in food, water and medical supplies.

  5. GAZA CITY, GAZA STRIP — The children of the Attar clan have lived through three wars in just over five years, each time fleeing their homes as Israel bombarded their neighborhood in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Their psychological scars show. Some act out, others cling to their mothers or withdraw, like 12-year-old Ahmed who sat by himself Monday on a bench in the courtyard of a U.N. school where his family once again sought shelter.

"They bombed very close to my house," said the boy, looking down and avoiding eye contact. "I'm scared."

Experts said it will be increasingly difficult to heal such victims of repeated trauma.

"For the majority of the children (in Gaza), it is the third time around," said Bruce Grant, the chief of child protection for the Palestinian territories in the United Nation's children's agency, UNICEF. "It reduces their ability to be resilient and to bounce back. Some will not find their way back to a sense of normalcy. Fear will become their new norm."

The Attar clan lives in Atatra, a neighborhood in northeastern Gaza, just a few hundred meters from Israel. Gaza militants often launch rockets at Israel from border areas, turning them into flashpoints and frequent targets of Israeli strikes.

Residents of Atatra fled their homes in Israel's three-week military offensive in the winter of 2008-2009, during a week of cross-border fighting in November 2012 and again over the weekend.

After Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over Atatra on Saturday warning residents to leave, sisters Mariam and Sada Attar bundled a few belongings into plastic bags and rushed out of their homes. They had 10 children in tow, as well as Mariam's husband Omar, who she said suffers from stress-induced psychological disorders and can no longer function normally.

The families sought shelter in the same U.N. school where they stayed during the previous two rounds of fighting. In all, 20 U.N. schools took in more than 17,000 displaced Gazans, many of them children, after Saturday's warnings by Israel that civilians must clear out of northern Gaza.

Members of the Attar clan took over part of the second floor, with more than 40 people sleeping in each classroom. Mariam, Sada, Omar and the children were squeezed into one half of a room, their space demarcated by benches. Another family from the clan stayed in the other half of the room. A blanket draped across an open doorway offered the only measure of privacy.

It is with shock, dismay and profound concern for the future that we have watched Israel carry out its third military assault on Gaza in six years. The aerial bombardment of one of the world’s most densely populated areas has inevitably caused not only a high number of civilian deaths and injuries, but severe psychological trauma. How can we expect the children exposed to the violent deaths of family and friends and the destruction of their homes to forgive not only their neighbours but also the world powers who did nothing to defend them?

As Jews we are appalled by the actions of a government that falsely claims to act in our collective name.
A ceasefire will end the current round of hostilities but that is only the first step. The recurrent cycles of violence and suffering will continue and intensify as long as Israel maintains a virtual blockade over Gaza and continues to rule over 2.5m Palestinian Arabs in the West Bank, with little regard for human rights. It is time to insist on an immediate halt to settlement expansion together with all discriminatory policies and the start of a process to end both the blockade and the occupation.

  21. Time to end Israel's Gaza blockade
The Guardian, Friday 27 December 2013

Today marks five years since the Israeli military launched missile and ground attacks on Gaza, which Israel named Operation Cast Lead. According to the UN, 1,383 Palestinians died as a result, including 333 children.

And what of the survivors? For the 1.7 million living in the tiny Gaza Strip, life has become increasingly desperate because of Israel's continuing blockade, backed by Egypt and with no effective challenge from governments around the world. The blockade has brought electricity cuts of 16 hours a day, which means the only street lights visible at night have been those from Israel's nearby towns. The electricity shortages have severely affected almost all essential services, including health, water, sanitation and schooling. With waste plants not operating, Palestinian children have been wading through freezing sewage to attend school. The terrible floods in Gaza brought the promise of increased electricity supplies for a few weeks, but the international community must demand that supply is constant and permanent.

This blockade has also resulted in unacceptable limits on personal freedom. Most Palestinians are prevented from travelling outside Gaza, an area of 139 sq miles: about the same size, but much more densely populated, as Newcastle. It is deplorable for us to allow this continuing collective punishment against Palestinians in Gaza. We urge the UK government to take immediate action to bring an end to the blockade on Gaza.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate subcommittee that doles out defense spending approved a bill to give Israel $621.6 million for those missile defense systems.”

None of this is good news. Money can’t buy you love or security. Furthermore, it would be unnecessary if Israel would carry its own water. Israel has more than enough resources to quell the violence in Gaza. What it lacks is the moral courage to do so. When next Hamas hits Israel, Israelis are not going to come out so well. The fault will lie with corrupt leadership, e.g. Olmert and Netanyahu.

Hamas has cost Israel potentially billions of dollars of foreign investment by proving that no one in Israel is safe from attack for more than ninety seconds – 24/7/365. The false sense of security Israel and its friends once had is now gone. Were I an investor, I would be very reluctant to put my money into an insecure business in Israel.

Netanyahu had one chance to redeem Israel's good name as a safe investment haven, the dismantling of Hamas. He will fail and purposefully so because he is a moral coward with little more strategic sense than a Bedouin goatherd (sorry to all you Bedouins and goatherds out there).

That is your issue, Mister, not mine. And don't put your words into my mouth or your thoughts into my head.

I have concentrated on one issue, Israel's national security. No country can allow another country to attack it with impunity - not even once. When Hamas started this war some 18 months ago, Israel should have come down on them like a ton of bricks and the rest of the world be damned.

Sad as it may be, four youngsters being murdered by psychopaths has nothing to do with Israeli national security.

    Wow, 1500!

Approximately 1,000,000 Jewish children were murdered during the Shoah. They were not collateral damage.

    So what?

This 2014 and Hamas has been attacking Israel with rockets for nearly 18 months. Today, that is all that matters.

The fault for the longevity of these Hamas attacks lies squarely on the shoulders of the moral coward and blowhard, BiBi Netanyahu. Down with Netanyahu!

sorry O/T but this is sorta sensational --Marsha Blackburn the Tennessee congresswoman was just on the Lou Dobbs show holding up flyers --like the under your windshield wiper grocery store parking lot flyers, her people are finding and sending her, where FedGov (i missed which agency) is offering $6,500/mo per child, to any family that will take in foster kids. That's all i had, pray continue as before.

I saw the story. A reporter from Briethart followed up and was told by the company who put out the ads that health care for the kids (not sure if the ads were for only kids) would also be paid for by the government. The only requirements for the people renting their homes, a furnished home and a driver's license.

Also, caught the tail end of a story today were the government had made an arrangement worth millions with the owner of a motel to take in groups of teenagers for a few weeks at a time. The owner of the motel cancelled out on the deal because of all the negative press he was receiving.

After reporting this, I expect to hear from someone complaining "Think of the Children".

I'll sign on for twenty, house them on the farm, and hire Quirk as Superintendent.

I even know an old school house we can use. If it was good enough for my Aunt it's good enough for them.

      Been refurbished too.

I feel sorry for those kids, but honest to God, the border has got to be closed.

However, if you think that's bad, take a look at this.

MCALLEN, Texas—Illegal aliens are being allowed to fly on commercial airliners without valid identification, according to the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC). “The aliens who are getting released on their own recognizance are being allowed to board and travel commercial airliners by simply showing their Notice to Appear forms,” NBPC’s Local 2455 Spokesman, Hector Garza, told Breitbart Texas.

“This is not the CBP [Customs and Border Protection] or another federal agency renting or leasing an aircraft, these are the same planes that the American public uses for domestic travel,” said Garza. “This just adds insult to injury. Not only are we releasing unknown illegal aliens onto American streets, but we are allowing them to travel commercially using paperwork that could easily be reproduced or manipulated on any home computer. The Notice to Appear form has no photo, anyone can make one and manipulate one. They do not have any security features, no watermark, nothing. They are simply printed on standard copy paper based on the information the illegal alien says is the truth.”

Spokesman Garza continued, “We do not know who these people are, we often have to solely rely on who they say they are, where they say they came from, and the history they say they have. We know nothing about most of them, ICE releases them into the American public, and now they are boarding aircraft at will with a simple paper document that anyone can easily alter or reproduce themselves.”

It's almost impossible to believe this is true; yet, I saw it today on TV today and when I googled it I saw it on numerous blogs and it made it all the way to Britain and the Daily Mail

If true, it is just one more example of Obama's contempt for the law in his pursuit of political gain or to be more precise in attempting to avoid more political loss.

Jews have become fat, lazy, and complacent, counting on Uncle at every turn. If Obama follows through, it will mean a return to the old days. That is a very good thing.

For example, Israel might get back to work on its state-of-the-art fighter that DoD killed. At the time of its demise, Israel had some 400 orders booked. It can be done, and we may have Obama to thank for making it so. Good on him!

    6. WiO,

Jewish tradition teaches that most Jews remained in Egypt rather than follow Moses into the wilderness and freedom. American Jews will return to Judaism when they feel the lash of anti-Semitism. A day will come when that will be the case. Why, twenty years ago most European Jews thought they were as snug as a bug in a rug. Not so today. What could not happen has: to go to shule in France now requires a company of armed guards. Those wearing a harmless kippah in England risk assault. We are witnessing one of the many, many cycles of insane anti-Semitism to confront Jews. This too will pass. It does not hurt that we are armed this time. :-)

I do not want Israel dependent on anyone, strategically. As evidenced above, we have no friends. It is what it is.

If you think Lois Lerner is the only disgraced government employee to purposely destroy/lose all their email correspondence, think again. Over at the Federal Election Commission a woman named April Sands is in hot water due to violations of the Hatch Act. The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities (such as Democrat campaigns) while they’re in federal buildings using federal equipment. This is especially troubling for someone like Sands, because she was an FEC enforcement attorney - meaning she was responsible for enforcing election law in a non-partisan manner.

Sands is a black female, a staunch supporter of Barack Obama, and it just so happens that she used to work with Lois Lerner. Oh, and her hard drives have been similarly “recycled.”

While still at the FEC, she would regularly take to Twitter and post racist ramblings like:

“I just don’t understand how anyone but straight white men can vote Republican. What kind of delusional rhetorical [sic] does one use?”

“Dear every single Republican ever, When will U learn that Barack Hussein Obama is simply smarter than U? Stand down, Signed #Obama2012 #p2,”

“Our #POTUS’s birthday is August 4. He’ll be 51. I’m donating $51 to give him the best birthday present ever: a second term,”

....And, as the Daily Caller points out, this was usually done on taxpayer time and taxpayer computers.

She was also participating in Democrat-centric webcam chats from FEC headquarters and that attracted the attention of Darrel Issa’s House Oversight Committee. They demanded her data, only to be told that the hard drives were no more.

Binyamin Netanyahu: Hamas has 'shut the door' to diplomatic solutions

This is one of the stupidest comments ever uttered and explains why Netanyahu must go. When Hamas fired the first rocket into Israel, a diplomatic solution was taken off the table. When Hamas chose war, Israel had no other option but to answer in kind. The Prime Minister’s inability to see the plain truth is indicative of the corruption of his thought process from too much contact today’s dainty West.

According to von Clausewitz, a nation makes war either on the battlefield or diplomatically. He had no confidence that both were possible simultaneously. In the present dust-up, Israel must defeat Hamas militarily before diplomacy leading to a peace treaty is possible. If that means the occupation of Gaza, so be it. If that means Israel assumes responsibility for supplying something more than adequate infrastructure and utilities, so be it. If that means that Israel supplies seed-money to Gazan businessmen, so be it. If that means that Israel hires thousands of Gazans to build modern housing, so be it. If that means that Israeli and Gazan children attend the same schools, so be it.

This incessant warfare must stop! When Jewish thugs kidnapped and murdered a Palestinian youngster, they spat on all that Israel holds holy. More than that, they displayed a hateful contagion that may be becoming all too common in Israel – a coarseness having no place within Jewish culture. In short, 60 years of warfare is making monsters of some Jews. This must end or there is no purpose for a Jewish homeland.
