COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Jumping Jack-Ass Night for our Rulers and Masters

Fire at will.

Live blog if you have it in you.

Take no prisoners, but if you insist don't forget to marandize the Mike Foxtrots.

Count the times Obama says "I".

Don't forget the middle class.

Don't stare at Michelle's ass.

  1. WiO,

    Re: "Liar!"

I think you may have confused Mr. Obama with me...:D)

If you also say, "asshole", I will be proven right...:D))

  2. ...that stimulus package just keeps on giving...

Sales of new homes in the US unexpectedly dropped in December

"Wall Street analists predicted an increase."

"The estimated 374,000 new homes sold in 2009 was the fewest since official records began in 1963."

O boy! I can't wait for health care stimulus.

  3. Obama will pretend to move to the center but we know he cannot pull it off. He is in his core, a MARXIST. I just hope Obama doesn't introduce a new website. Biden had a hard enough time remembering the area code of the last one.

  4. If you wonder what on earth is wrong with the United States, read the following quote:

"It would be really nice if he [President Obama] could say, we're going to open up X number of jobs, but that's really not going to happen," Adcock said."

Need health care reform, why, ladies and gents, all he has to do is speak the words. Jobs, schmobs, presto-chango, just say the magic words, Mr. Obama. Housing bubble? What housing bubble? It's nothin' but blue skys from now on, says Mr. Obama.

    These poor people vote.

  5. Now, now let's not be too presumptuous. I have every bit of confidence that the pristine Nobel peace prize winner, our President of the United States, will come through with high spirits and will focus on exactly what the people want to hear. Because he cares.

Oh, and I also have confidence that I will be going to bed Friday night with equally balanced yet silky smooth legs.

  7. So the Dems didn't swear in Scott Brown. . .so he would not be on television during the SOTU speech tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  8. SOTU speech to last 75 minutes... sheesh. He does love the sound of his own voice, doesn't he? And it will probably have more "I"s than a monster from a 1950s B movie.

  9. 75 minutes? Shit, I better make some popcorn.

  16. Wall Street will tank tomorrow with all this "tax the banks" talk.

  20. bush is at fault for the debt he left us...

and the 4x debt I have created in 12 months is also his fault, but I am looking backwards..

    ReplyDelete
  21. He is going to do everything for everyone except Wall Street and those making over $250K per year. And he will reduce the deficit by over $1 trillion.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He can be somewhat imperious and at times comes perilously close to treading on the business toes of Congress.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't really care for his snarky humor.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It is depressing. It is all an act.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He was spewing out program after program I couldn't keep up.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is the only good thing he said:

This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are.

    ReplyDelete
  27. He failed to see his own reversion to campaign mode when he said, "But what frustrates the American people is a Washington where every day is Election Day."

Then after Porkulus I, and talk of Porkulus II, he has the gall to say, "Let’s invest in our people without leaving them a mountain of debt." O RLY?

Then he demonstrates the liberal fallacy of thinking that tax cuts have to be "paid for": "Most of this was the result of not paying for two wars, two tax cuts, and an expensive prescription drug program."

How freaking expensive will socialized medicine be?

And after ClimateGate he's still pushing Cap & Trade: "...it means passing a comprehensive energy and climate bill...

This is actually good news for conservatives (Republicans and fiscal-conservative Libertarians like me). I thought he would tack to the center and gain re-election ala Clinton 1996. Not happening.

  28. I don't know much (believe it or not, Doug,) but I know that this is the most clueless Predident of my lifetime.

    Breathtaking

  30. Recessions are supposed to take folks out of declining, non-productive occupations, and put them in new, productive jobs.

But, I think we might have a problem, this time.

We know that many (most) of our unemployed aren't qualified for the Millions of jobs that are availabe At This Moment; but, the scary thing is,

Many of them May NOT be Trainable for those jobs. We may have a few tens of Millions of people that are Not Trainable for the Assembly Line of the future.

And, Please, Do NOT get me wrong. I am Not referring to any ethnic, religious, or racial group.

We just might be coming into a time when, in order to qualify for any job higher than one which pays minimum wage you have to have an IQ that would put you, roughly, and I'm trying to figure out how to analogize this, somewhere other than the bottom 30% (I'm really guessing here) of your high school class.

    Scary

    (if true)

    ReplyDelete
  31. IQ might have been the wrong metric. Maybe it's the bottom 30% (to pick a number out of my hair) in some combination of IQ, Motivation, Educational Opportunities, Parental Guidance, etc.

Anyway, I think the number is pretty high. Which leads to the question: What the hell are we going to do with those folks?
