COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

McCain sez people are begging him to run for President again...honest!

From the Arizona Republic:

"Particularly since the shutdown, I've had a spate of e-mails and letters and phone calls saying, 'Run for president again,'" McCain told The Arizona Republic. "As you know, I’m seriously thinking about running for re-election to the Senate. But I think, in the words of the late Morris K. Udall, as far as my presidential ambitions are concerned, 'The people have spoken — the bastards.'"

In his book Too Funny To Be President, Udall, D-Ariz., attributed the quote to California Democrat Dick Tuck. Udall unsuccessfully sought the 1976 Democratic nomination for president.

While even McCain agrees that another presidential candidacy seems far-fetched, Bruce Merrill, a veteran Arizona political scientist and pollster, told The Republic he has fielded multiple calls from out-of-state reporters this year investigating the possibility. McCain was critical of the GOP strategy to try to defund President Barack Obama’s health-care law, resulting in a partial government shutdown. McCain emerged with better national poll numbers than others associated with the crisis, including "tea party"-style U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

"I can assure you, I don’t see it," said McCain, who will turn 80 in 2016. "It’s not on my radar."

  4. It's not only France that has rebelled against the outlined deal in Geneva. Israel is protesting vocally and publicly; America's Gulf Arab allies are protesting less publicly, but nearly equally vocally.

On "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Kerry insisted that there was "zero gap" between the United States and its regional allies. Then he immediately got on a plane to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, presumably to try to upgrade his Sunday talk-show words into something closer to reality.

Just in case, though, the UAE will also be buying $4 billion worth of U.S. munitions -- its own private line of defense against a threatening Iran and the turmoil that will ensue if America's deal-at-all-costs mentality compels Israel to strike Iran on its own. As of today, you have to guess that it's that latter scenario that looks like the most likely outcome of American over-eagerness.

Belgium or Iran, Where’s The Nuclear Threat? Europe’s Five “Undeclared Nuclear Weapons States”
Are Turkey, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Italy Nuclear Powers?

ccording to a recent report, former NATO Secretary-General George Robertson confirmed that Turkey possesses 40-90 “Made in America” nuclear weapons at the Incirlik military base.(en.trend.az/)

Does this mean that Turkey is a nuclear power?

y the recognised definition, these five countries are “undeclared nuclear weapons states”.

The stockpiling and deployment of tactical B61 in these five “non-nuclear states” are intended for targets in the Middle East. Moreover, in accordance with “NATO strike plans”, these thermonuclear B61 bunker buster bombs (stockpiled by the “non-nuclear States”) could be launched “against targets in Russia or countries in the Middle East such as Syria and Iran” ( quoted in National Resources Defense Council, Nuclear Weapons in Europe , February 2005)

Does this mean that Iran or Russia, which are potential targets of a nuclear attack originating from one or other of these five so-called non-nuclear states should contemplate defensive preemptive nuclear attacks against Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey? The answer is no, by any stretch of the imagination.

While these “undeclared nuclear states” casually accuse Tehran of developing nuclear weapons, without documentary evidence, they themselves have capabilities of delivering nuclear warheads, which are targeted at Iran. To say that this is a clear case of “double standards” by the IAEA and the “international community” is a understatement.

Among the five “undeclared nuclear states”, “Germany remains the most heavily nuclearized country with three nuclear bases (two of which are fully operational) and may store as many as 150 [B61 bunker buster ] bombs” (Ibid). In accordance with “NATO strike plans” (mentioned above) these tactical nuclear weapons are also targeted at the Middle East.

While Germany is not categorized officially as a nuclear power, it produces nuclear warheads for the French Navy. It stockpiles nuclear warheads (made in America) and it has the capabilities of delivering nuclear weapons. Moreover, The European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company – EADS , a Franco-German-Spanish joint venture, controlled by Deutsche Aerospace and the powerful Daimler Group is Europe’s second largest military producer, supplying .France’s M51 nuclear missile.

Germany imports and deploys nuclear weapons from the US. It also produces nuclear warheads which are exported to France. Yet it is classified as a non-nuclear state.

      Nuclear

As part of NATO's nuclear umbrella, Turkey continues to host approximately 60 to 70 U.S. tactical nuclear weapons on its territory at Incirlik Air Base. [5]

While there was some speculation in the Turkish press regarding possible conflict between Turkey's leaders and the United States should President Obama's commitment to "seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons" lead to the near-term withdrawal of U.S. nuclear weapons from Turkey, both the 2010 U.S. Nuclear Posture Review and the 2010 NATO Strategic Concept postponed a decision concerning the future of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe. [6]

While the Cold War-era B61 bombs serve little strategic purpose, they provide tangible evidence of a continued American commitment to Turkish security.

I think it's quite possible that 1984 was the greatest year human existence has ever known.
Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop, The Terminator, and Karate Kid all hit theaters...
Transformers was released by Hasbro in the United States.

And the entire mythology of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero was more or less defined in this one year of release.

1984 featured character stalwarts like Duke, Roadblock, The Baroness, Storm Shadow, Firefly, and Zartan, and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Characters important enough to build an entire Hollywood franchise around.
Cobra especially really started developing their identity in this year, breaking out into some more unique and ...
outlandish characters, each with very nicely defined personalities thanks to Larry Hama's comic book work.

Even the most minor characters in this year like Recondo, Wild Weasel, or Cutter have developed immense fan following and exude personality.

That's partly why I was so fascinated to see what Codename: Iowa would do with their third series of minimalist prints.
The first two years in G.I. Joe history are fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I can see how it would be fairly simple to boil those down to basic themes running throughout a series of great minimalist posters.
1984? That seemed like a whole different animal.

"I want a Sony plasma television for the house," said Amanda Lisboa, 34, a business administrator who waited seven hours outside a Caracas store ... "It's going to be so cheap!" "This is for the good of the nation," Maduro said, referring to the military's occupation of Daka. "Leave nothing on the shelves, nothing in the warehouses Let nothing remain in stock!" Maduro said his seizures are the 'tip of the iceberg' and that other stores would be next if they did not comply with his orders.'"

"We've been driving through the north of the island all morning, handing out these bags," he explained. "We can't get everywhere, but it's obvious the people are desperate."

As night falls on the island and the roads become slick with a new rain that many fear is yet another storm looming, families wait out the long evening with candles and their dwindling supplies. In the shadows, you can just about make out lone villagers traipsing along with water containers, and the children still standing with their palms out, begging in the dark.

I still believe the Turks remain upset by Obama's holding action over Syria. Their plan, I think, was to take and hold troublesome areas in northern Syria during the chaos caused by American intervention. Syria has been a thorn in Turkey's side for years, patronizing Kurdish Communists and destabilizing the entire region. Finally, Turkey has a growing political movement that is not being checked by the central government: a neo-Ottoman Empire cohort...

  20. If everything goes to plan, Turkey will receive the United States’ newest nuclear weapon in 2019. Turkey currently hosts between 60 and 70 B61 gravity bombs at Incirlik air force base. During the Cold War, Turkish aircraft were on full nuclear alert status – meaning that Turkish aircraft were loaded with nuclear weapons and ready to take to the air in minutes, should NATO give the order. Now Turkish F-16 are only nuclear certified and would have to fly to Incirlik and pick up the bombs.

  21. More ObamaCare crash and burn coming your way --

    >>>On December 1 you will hear strident HHS appointees insisting that the “glitches” are gone and the system is “fixed.” Remember what they told you before and immediately after launch; don’t fall for the new talking points. Even allowing for continuing refusals by HHS to release information about the failures of HealthCare.gov, it will only be a short time before HHS will have to start disclosing repeated thefts of healthcare.gov data.

Senator Barbara Mikulski has rightly noted “there’s been a crisis of confidence created in the dysfunctional nature of the website.” Public confidence in HealthCare.Gov is so low that the site will not be able to survive the added pressure caused by inevitable security breaches. Shortly after the predetermined HHS announcement that HealthCare.gov has been “fixed,” that assessment will become a Jimmy Kimmel punch line.

As this debacle extends, concern about the electoral implications of the failure of HealthCare.gov will force President Obama to ignore new promises of yet another “fix” and to scrap this website that has been tainted by incompetence, deceptive propaganda, and disregard for our privacy. You can be sure you will hear him and his appointees reminding us of that toll-free number again and again.

  22. Normal Americans just can't get into the mullahs' ancient theological mindset, because Christianity and Judaism left all that behind many centuries ago, after the great religious wars of European history. But radical Islam has revived Allah-knows-all indoctrination in Iran and Arabia. Westerners provide plenty of suckers for those absolutist cults.

Cult indoctrination is incredibly powerful. On November 18, 1978, more than 900 people committed mass suicide in Guyana on the direct orders of Jim Jones, a San Francisco cult leader. Those were pretty normal people before they joined the suicide cult. This is also how the Japanese Emperor cult was able to convince hundreds of young Japanes pilots to commit suicide by flying their planes into American aircraft carriers in World War II. Cults are dangerous. The mullahs in Iran have now controlled the schools and mass media in Iran for almost forty years. They are running a war-mongering suicide cult over there, but they have more than Jim Jones' 900 Americans drinking the kool-aid. They have hundreds of thousands of potential martyrs. In their war with Saddam Hussein the mullahs sent regiments of teenage boys on motorcycles into Saddam's minefields to martyr themselves in the name of Allah. Those kids wore green plastic signs around their necks, with the Arab slogan, "Key to Paradise."

The mullahs of Iran are today's Divine Emperor cult from World War II. Warmaking cults have existed throughout human history. They are not unusual. The Aztecs of pre-Columbian Mexico were a war-making cult that captured members of neighboring tribes to sacrifice atop their pyramids. The Yanamamo of Chile and Peru have been studied for decades by Harvard anthropologists. They are also a fierce, warmaking cult. The inner core of Hitler's Nazis were a cult, sworn to commit suicide to protect Der Fuehrer. The Japanese Aleph Cult is listed as a terrorist gang today, because in 1995 they carried out a Sarin gas attack in the Tokyo subway. Warmaking suicide cults are not unusual. The 9/11/01 Wahhabi terrorists all belonged to one of those cults. They killed 3,000 innocent people.

With nuclear weapons, the mullah cult could now kill many more people....

  23. Sudan: UN humanitarian chief says polio vaccination blocked
Ging appears to blame the block on the tensions between Muslim Sudan and Christian South Sudan, but South Kordofan and Blue Nile are both in Sudan, not South Sudan. The block more likely has to do with Muslim clerics saying that the vaccine is un-Islamic. There is a polio outbreak in Syria because Pakistani jihadis are bringing the virus from home. A Pakistani Muslim cleric has said that polio vaccinations are un-Islamic. And the Taliban has for some time been murdering people who were administering the polio vaccine in Pakistan. And it isn't just Pakistan: last February in Nigeria, a Muslim cleric was arrested for playing a role in sparking the murders of polio workers. Could it be that the same nonsense about the vaccine that afflicts Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria is now being preached in Sudan?

"Sudan polio vaccination blocked, says UN's John Ging," from the BBC, November 12 (thanks to Ales):

Efforts to vaccinate 165,000 children against polio in Sudan have been blocked by the government and rebels, the UN humanitarian chief says.
John Ging said the two sides should stop "filibustering" and give health workers access to children in the South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.

The government and rebels had ignored a Security Council resolution to give health workers access, he said.

The UN fears that conflict in the two states could lead to a polio outbreak.

According to the UN World Health Organization, Sudan has been polio-free for more than two years.

South Kordofan and Blue Nile border South Sudan, which seceded from Sudan in 2011 after a peace deal to end years of civil war.

    'Finger pointing'

The UN held talks with the government and Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) to carry out vaccinations from 5 November to 12 November but "unfortunately we have been filibustered with process and discussions and disputes which have amounted to no access", Mr Ging told journalists, after briefing the Security Council.

It should use its "significant authority" to force the government and SPLM-N to let health workers in, he said.

China's UN ambassador Liu Jieyi, who is the current president of the UN Security Council, said the lack of access was "disturbing".

However, he did not refer to any action that the Security Council intended to take against the government and SPLM-N, the Associated Press news agency reports.

Mr Ging said the UN had already been forced to cut back on plans to send food and other relief to South Kordofan and Blue Nile, and had decided to focus on the vaccination drive....

"the lack of access is disturbing"- indeed.

But nothing, it seems, is disturbing enough to penetrate the mind of that one who refuses to consider the fact that so many are revealing Islam to be the Beast that it is. On a survival level only, Islam does seem. One is not allowed to ascend even to a sexual freedom. All must go to keep the Vampire alive,

      Including even the sexual drive.

The Hindus would say that Islam is trapped between the first(survival) chakra and the second(second chakra)
Islam does not seem like a religion to me. There does not seem to be in Islam anything that can be regarded as godly in practice, only an inconceivable Allah who seems like the most cruel and antinatural beings ever to be found in Literature.
