COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

The Islamic war against the West on your desktop.

The war against everybody else by Islamic "holy warriors" in often conducted on the internet. It is a true fifth collumn throughout the West, a real underground and is an obvious traget worthy of much more attention than it is being given in the MSM.
This is a small thing with one arrest, and the German legal system has an abysmal record at convictions, but it is a start.

There is no way of knowing how much intelligence is being conducted by the NSA and other intelligence agencies. Hopefully, it is considerable.

Al Qaeda Suspect Arrested in Germany
Authorities say they have detained a 36-year-old Iraqi man near the central German city of Osnabrück on charges of distributing al Qaeda videos on the Internet.

Police apprehended the suspect, who has only been identified as Ibrahim R., in his apartment early on Tuesday. Prosecutors in the state of Lower Saxony issued a warrant for his arrest on Sept. 24 on strong suspicions that he was supporting a terrorist organization.

It's the first time someone has been detained on German soil specifically for spreading al Qaeda messages. Police searched the man's apartment and confiscated a laptop and a number of computer discs. Prosecutors suspect him of posting video and audio messages from Osama bin Laden and other major al Qaeda leaders on the Internet.

It is unclear when the man, who was identified as an Iraqi citizen, entered Germany. The Federal Prosecutor's Office declined to give further details, saying the case was still ongoing.

Evidence against the man was collected by criminal investigators at both the federal and local levels as well as by the Lower Saxony Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The man is to be taken to the southern German city of Karlsruhe, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

The arrest comes as Germany is trying to step up measures aimed at preventing people from using the Internet to promote terrorism.

    Will Motassadeq Go Free?

    By Dietmar Hipp

Sept. 11 terror suspect Mounir el Motassadeq is heading back to a Hamburg court on Thursday -- for the third time. Prosecutors are pushing for a stiffer sentence, while his defense lawyers intend to use a cynical argument to win his acquittal.

These days, a well-known friend of the September 11 hijackers leads a quiet life. In spite of a seven-year jail sentence, Mounir el Motassadeq has been free for a good six months. ..."

  3. Rasmussen latest is behind a subscriptin wall, but their headline says
    Generic Ballot:
    Dems 46% GOP 38%

So by the rufus standard, the Dems are up by 10%, genericly.

Even more so, District by District, in the battleground 40 Districts, according to RCP, today.

Rasmussen says that self identified Republicans have dropped, from 37.1% in Nov '04 to 32.3% of the Electorate today.

  4. Early morning number inversion, on my part, rufus.

We'll see in 28 days, fer sure

But it's a District thing, not generic over views that count.

The Dems are still up at least 10 in the House, 4 in the Senate.

Do nothing Congress guarenteed for '07 & '08. Better or Worse than the last two years, depending if one likes "do nothing" or not.

Kiss the dreamed of Supreme good bye, whom ever he'd be, he won't be confirmed.
