All in a Day's Work. Suicide Bomber Attempts to Destroy A1 Tank, but Explosives Fail to Detonate

A suicide bomber has just attempted to destroy an A1 Abrams tank, but the explosives in his car have failed to explode. American troops use a robot to approach the car and detonate the explosives.

    If the object was to detonate the explosives then why not use direct weapons fire.

    A 40mm grenade fired from a 203, could have done that job.
    Not SWAT style, but cost effective and quick.
