Video of Tiangong-1 space station is distributed with US patriotic song as background music in latest Chinese propaganda gaffe
The lift-off was flawless. The orbit immaculate. But while China's leaders were celebrating the triumphant launch of Tiangong-1 space lab on Thursday, viewers of state television footage were treated to a bizarre choice of soundtrack: America the Beautiful.
It Has Happened Before:
Maybe they were just acknowledging all the pilfered US technology. These things happen.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand it could be a Chinese smirk reminding US that our glory days are behind us.
ReplyDeleteWe have better ways to spend our money, life free breakfast and free lunch in schools so that our little dears don't start to death.
ReplyDelete..and of course making sure our illegals have nice healthy illegitimate anchor babies.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, food subsidies cost taxpayers $79 billion in fiscal 2009 and account for about two-thirds of USDA’s budget. The largest food subsidy programs are food stamps; the school breakfast and lunch programs; and the women, infants, and children (WIC) program. The federal government as a whole has about 26 food and nutrition programs operated by six different agencies.
ReplyDeleteNasa's budget is $18 billion.
None of those federal food programs should exist.
A November 1971 study of NASA released by the Midwest Research Institute of Kansas City, Missouri ("Technological Progress and Commercialization of Communications Satellites." In: "Economic Impact of Stimulated Technological Activity") concluded that “the $25 billion in 1958 dollars spent on civilian space R & D during the 1958-1969 period has returned $52 billion through 1971 -- and will continue to produce pay offs through 1987, at which time the total pay off will have been $181 billion. The discounted rate of return for this investment will have been 33 percent.”
ReplyDeleteWe are stupid beyond belief.
..but all the scammers taking public money for food they could afford themselves, probably 90% of the recipients, are pikers compared to the gangsters on Wall Street. Lehman CEO Richard “Dick” Fuld stuffed himself with $461 million from his gravy train. Oh yea.
ReplyDeleteWe are stupid beyond belief.
"Illegitimate" babies?
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeleteNone of those federal food programs should exist.
Nonsense.
We spend a $trillion a year on defense. The overruns on a few big programs would fund the food programs for five years.
Guns and butter? I guess our priorities don't match.
