COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

  2. Rufus, you're incorrigible, but speaking of the boss making poor decisions, have you seen the news about poor John Edwards? Broken and suicidal.

Such a shame, isn't it? Tsk.

No, no, no, he seemed like such a fine, handsome young man.

I've always wanted to know what Miss Fely looked like, now I do. What a pair of scissors. She could cut anyone's paper.

If you're worried about the falling dollar just head to the casino like we did today and come out 600 ahead in about 10 minutes. Just do that every day. You'll keep up with inflation.

Megaloads are scheduled to come through Moscow on way to Montana and the tar sands, at about 2am in the morning. They are seeking an alternative route away for Rt 12. This way they'd hit the freeway east at Cd'A. This caused concerns with a council member here, saying that's when the bars close, and it would cause a conflict with out local drivers, thus putting the rights of our drunk driving students over the interests of American industry and the continued functioning of The Free World. heh, the moron councilar was one of the holdovers from before the days when
The Greater Moscow Alliance wiped ass here.

I hope not to be troubled in my dreams by Miss Fely.....

  13. By the way, if a couple hundred of us idiot red necked white crackers had gotten together and announced we were going to slaughter the elk in the Lolo from 16,000 plus down to under 2,000, and did it, in three or four years, and wasted most of the meat too, what do you think we'd have been called in the media?

And why isn't any benevolent and protective society, like The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks called The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Wolves? Ever thought about that? It was the Nazis that always thought in them wolfish terms.

After I get back from the east, I'm getting a snow machine and hunt em' down out at the farm, now it's legal here.

Sounds like Boehner did a pretty good job.

Our system works pretty good when both parties have a little bit of power.
