COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Heads Up for Dilated Eyes

  1. heh :) Pink Floyd

You see, the eyes dilate at death too, proving again the poets to be right, when they have told us sex and death are kissing cousins.

  2. I watched that Romney video, and could only think about Deuce's story of the Wall Street robber barons that cut down that forest, shipping the lumber to Japan.

  3. Who made the "King of Bain"?

Answer: The filmmaker behind it is Jason Killian Meath, who created ads for Romney’s failed run in 2008. He is a former associate of Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer, top Romney strategists, according to The Daily Beast. Mr. Meath did not return a call requesting clarification about why he made the anti-Romney film.

Six questions answered about "The King of Bain - When Mitt Romney Came to Town"

    "Frau Blucher!"

    ::Whin--n-n-n-ny!::

I like what the Marines did to the dead Taliban. Pissed on his face. Of course the Obama Administration will investigate and throw the offenders on death row.

  6. It was worse than that DR. They cut the logs and milled them on the ships on the way to Asia. No value added here.

Romney is a big corporation freak as Obama is a big government freak. In either case the corporations call the shots. Obama bailed out Howard Milstein, billionaire real estate speculator and loan shark, with $230 million of tarp money and dollars for nothing from the fed.

Howard Milstein had conservative Republican Congressman Cantor’s wife on his payroll.

Romney is just another corporate scab.

He will fall in love with Air Force One as deeply as Obama has.

Anyone is free to do a post on the glories of Romney before the myth merchants recreate him. Tell us how we will be saved by Romney.

The right wing liars and propagandists freely state, they will vote for anyone but Obama. Good. Without needing their advice I am liking Ron Paul more and more. He is preferable to Obama and better than Romney.

Events will change, the Rulers and Masters will not.

  7. Reagan used to talk about the Eleventh Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill Of Another Republican.

I heard my first Nude Green Grinch attack ad against Romney today. With anti-capitalists like these who needs Obummer?

  8. Romney claims 100,000 jobs from activities at only three companies, all of them successes: Staples, Domino's and Sports Authority. However, it counts many jobs that were created after Romney left Bain in 1999.

Now time to use our brains. Every little town and city had small and medium size business and stationary shops, independently owned. They purchased from big and small mostly US manufacturers. Where are they to day? Where are their suppliers? What happened to all the employees?

They are gone, and the jobs that went with them and the suppliers have gone to China.

Is it necessary to do the math for the pizza parlors and the sporting goods stores?

  9. I will bet that an honest evaluation of all three Romney company had a net effect of killing more jobs than they created. They succeeded in transferring wealth from local communities to Wall Street and the profits earned repeated the process from one mega-corporation to the next. Social costs were transferred to the public debt.

Can’t you just picture Romney in his letter sweater?

  10. He is a great American. He will be a greater American when the others have been defeated. Hell, by November he will be the greatest American ever, savior of American values, his corporate values.

  11. I am with the Detroit dot man. Any man, that puts a dog in a cage on top of a car is shit. He reminds me of a kid in high school that liked to set cat’s tails on fire with lighter fluid. I never saw him do it, to his fortune. I wonder where that sick fuck is today?

  12. There is such a thing as creative destruction. If we outlaw "vulture capitalism" then companies will get bloated and unable to compete on a global basis.

  13. What do you call someone who hates Israel, Zionism, Jews, and Judaism but supports Assad, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Castro, the PLO and the Mullahs?
