COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Thank the 9th Circuit Court Judges for their service - Dismiss them - Move the court to Mountain Home Idaho

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." -R. Buckminster Fuller

Elmore County Idaho District Court - The New Home for The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

U.S. Congress created the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 1891.

The US Congress should have the courage to seize back powers usurped by all the courts and the 9th Circuit is as good as place to start.

Don't restructure it. Tear it down and rebuild it from scratch.

  7. What this Administration Needs Is A Man With A Mean Moustache

Report: Senior White House and natsec officials want John Bolton as national security adviser

POSTED AT 2:01 PM ON FEBRUARY 19, 2017 BY ALLAHPUNDIT

The Free Beacon never uses the word “frontrunner” here, but if it’s true that Trumpworld’s big cheeses want Bolton then he’s the de facto frontrunner, right? Interestingly, Trump himself appears to have a frontrunner in mind: He told reporters on Air Force One yesterday that he’s already “leaning toward” one of the four candidates he’s planning to interview today. (The four are acting NSA Keith Kellogg, H.R. McMaster, Robert Caslen, and Bolton.)

As of Friday morning, it looked like Bolton wasn’t being considered at all, as he wasn’t among the four short-listers leaked to the media. By Friday afternoon, Ted Cruz had endorsed him and rumors were swirling that Bolton was now in the mix. By yesterday afternoon, when the Free Beacon report appeared, Bolton was allegedly the favorite among senior White House officials. Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast!

Among Bolton’s most vocal supporters are senior administration officials loyal to Flynn and who are upset at the general’s firing. Multiple sources described an effort by these Flynn loyalists to ensure that Bolton is selected as his replacement.

The selection of Bolton as the next national security adviser would empower Flynn’s allies still in the White House and send a message that his national security vision is represented within the Trump administration. Bolton is also favored by White House staffers who are opposed to the selection of any candidate who criticized President Trump during the 2016 campaign…

“The one thing that makes Bolton more qualified than anyone else for the Trump era is that he has a veteran genius-level understanding of the organizational structure of our nation’s diplomatic and intelligence apparatus,” said one veteran foreign policy insider who is in close contact with multiple senior Trump administration national security figures.
It’s strange to me that Flynn loyalists would strongly prefer Bolton. They’re both Iran hawks, but Bolton has always seemed like more of a Russia hawk than Flynn is. But maybe foreign policy isn’t at the heart of this. According to the Beacon, one key reason why Team Trump likes Bolton is that “Bolton has the ability to help root out Obama administration holdovers still working in the government, according to multiple sources.” That rings true. If you’re looking for a deputy willing to reform the intelligence bureaus and not afraid to step on lots and lots and lots of toes in doing so, Bolton seems like an obvious choice. He has so many enemies on the left (and right) in Washington already, what would he have to lose by becoming the purger-in-chief?

There may be more working in his favor than ruthless bravado, too:

  8. The Left has performed structural change to the US government and culture and to cement it in place they have used illegal aliens, the cultural imperative of diversity without conformance to US societal norms. This is likely our last best chance to slow it down and reverse it.

We need at least two generations of minimizing immigration from third world countries, the push back on the courts, getting government out of education and trust busting media.

The best approach would be the application of Mark Levin's liberty Amendments. The Republicans control enough state houses to do it and should seize the moment.

  9. Mark Levin is proposing ten amendments to the Constitution. Each one is written in thoughtful language so as to preclude any ancillary problems:

    1) Term Limits: He proposes limiting service in both the House and Senate to 12 years. Yes, we’ve heard all the arguments about elections being the best limit. But the past 100 year has proven that to be false. As someone who works day and night to throw the bums out, I can tell you that is nearly impossible to throw them out with the amount of money they raise – precisely for their abuses of power. Levin also proves that limiting time in office was a highly regarded proposal during the Constitutional Congress.

    2) Repealing the 17th Amendment: Levin proposes repealing the 17th amendment and vesting state legislators with the power to elect senators so that the power of states is not diluted, as originally feared by the framers of the Constitution.

    3) Restoring the Judiciary to its proper role: The Judiciary was never meant to be an all-powerful institution in which five men in robes have the final say over every major policy battle in the country. In order to end judicial tyranny, Levin proposes limiting service to one 12-year term, and granting both Congress and the state legislatures the authority to overturn court decisions with the vote of three-fifths of both houses of Congress or state legislative bodies.

    4) Limiting Taxation and Spending: Levin proposes a balanced budget amendment, limiting spending to 17.5% of GDP and requiring a three-fifths vote to raise the debt ceiling. He also proposes limiting the power to tax to 15% of an individual’s income, prohibiting other forms of taxation, and placing the deadline to file one’s taxes one day before the next federal election.

    5) Limiting bureaucracy: He proposes an amendment to limit and sunset federal regulations and subject the existence of all federal departments to stand-alone reauthorization bills every three years.

    6) Defining the Commerce Clause: Levin writes an amendment that, while technically unnecessary, is practically an imperative to restoring the original intent of the Commerce Clause. The amendment would make it clear that the commerce clause grants not power to actively regulate and control activity; rather to prevent states from impeding commerce among other states, as Madison originally intended.

      7) Limiting Federal power to take private property

      8) Allowing State Legislature to Amend the Constitution: Although the Framers intentionally made it difficult to amend the Constitution, they did so to preserve the Republic they created. However, the progressives have illegally altered our Republic through a silent and gradual coup without using the amendment process. If we are going to successfully push the aforementioned amendments, we will need an easier mechanism to force them through. The proposed amendment allows states to bypass Congress and propose an amendment with support of just two-thirds of the states (instead of three-fourths) and without convening a convention.

      9) State Authority to Override Congress: A proposed amendment to allow states to override federal statutes by majority vote in two-thirds of state legislatures. The last two proposals are rooted in the idea that the states only agreed to the Constitution on condition that their power would not be diluted and that all federal power is derived from the states.

      10) Protecting the Vote: A proposal to require photo ID for all federal elections and limit early voting.

  10. WASHINGTON (AP) -- A senior Trump administration official was fired following criticism in a private speech of President Donald Trump's policies and his inner circle of advisers.

Craig Deare, whom Trump appointed a month ago to head the National Security Council's Western Hemisphere division, was on Friday escorted out of the Executive Office Building, where he worked in Washington.

A senior White House official confirmed that Deare is no longer working at the NSC and has returned to the position he previously held at the National Defense University. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an incident not otherwise made public, and provided no further details.

But current and former administration officials say Deare's termination was linked to remarks he made Thursday at a private talk at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

According to one person who attended the discussion, Deare slammed the Trump administration for its policies on Latin America, specifically its rocky start to relations with Mexico. That person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a private event.

Trump signed an order in the first week of his presidency to build a border wall with Mexico, jumpstarting a campaign promise. The move prompted Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto to cancel his trip to Washington in late January.

The person who attended the Wilson Center discussion also said that Deare openly expressed frustration over being cut out of most of the policy discussions about Mexico, saying that members of Trump's inner circle, including chief strategist Steve Bannon and Trump's son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, have not consulted with NSC directorates as the White House formulates policy.

  12. State Latino leaders are ready to fight Trump on immigration. Here’s why their approach is all wrong

Latino leaders and their Democratic allies are able to win the immigration argument in California by appealing to emotion and public sympathies. They make their case telling stories about family and people with good intentions, while skirting the time bomb inherent in the immigration debate: Namely, that millions of undocumented people living in the United States knowingly flouted U.S. immigration law.

No matter how sympathetic the human stories are, how solid someone’s work ethic, the fact remains that the undocumented experience begins with a violation of law. And that federal leaders have a right and an obligation to protect U.S. sovereignty and U.S. borders. While Mexican politicians rail against Trump, keep in mind that they, too, are cracking down on immigrants. Mexican officials have built their own walls and have their own problems with undocumented immigrants streaming across their border from Central America.

Is immigrant labor critical to California’s economic framework? Yes. Would comprehensive immigration reform have protected many of the undocumented people now vulnerable to Trump’s politics? Yes.

No matter. For California leaders who have pledged to protect undocumented immigrants, Trump is an adversary they are not prepared to fight. They can’t win this battle – or win over his supporters – by appealing to emotion. They can’t win until they formulate a legitimate economic argument that pushes back against the anti-immigrant sentiment Trump rode to the White House.

U.S. President Donald Trump's suggestion that Sweden experienced an immigration-related security incident prompted a baffled response from the Scandinavian country on Sunday as diplomats asked for an explanation and citizens responded with amusement.

Trump, who in his first weeks in office has tried to sharply tighten U.S. borders on national security grounds, cited Sweden as a country that had experienced problems with immigrants in remarks at a rally on Saturday.

"You look at what's happening last night in Sweden," Trump said. "Sweden. Who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible."

That appeared to confuse the Swedish government, which asked the U.S. State Department to explain what the new president meant.

"We are trying to get clarity," Swedish Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Catarina Axelsson said.

  15. I wish the Chinese would just kill the son of a bitch, and take over -

It looks like China has finally gotten sick of North Korea… for now

POSTED AT 3:31 PM ON FEBRUARY 19, 2017 BY JAZZ SHAW

After the assassination of Kim Jong-nam by the “LOL girl” and her partner, Ed Morrissey asked whether or not such a blatant and provocative move might finally wake up China. It didn’t take terribly long for us to find out the answer. Traditionally, the Chinese have paid little more than lip service to sanctions and other disciplinary measures taken by the international community against the reclusive dictatorship in North Korea. But this episode of murder in broad daylight playing out for all to see in the international media seems to have been a bridge too far at long last for China. In a rare and potentially crippling move, effective today the Chinese are suspending all imports of coal from Kim Jong-un ‘s empire. (Washington Post)

China will suspend all imports of coal from North Korea until the end of the year, the Commerce Ministry announced Saturday, in a surprise move that would cut off a major financial lifeline for Pyongyang and significantly enhance the effectiveness of U.N. sanctions.

Coal is North Korea’s largest export item, and also China’s greatest point of leverage over the regime.

The ministry said the ban would come into force Sunday and be effective until Dec. 31.

China said the move was designed to implement November’s United Nations Security Council resolution that tightened sanctions against the regime in the wake of its last nuclear test.

The ban on imported coal is supposed to run through the end of this year. Assuming they actually implement this policy and stick with it, this is a major blow against North Korea. Coal is their primary export and the Chinese are among the only nations who will do any business with North Korea these days. A move like this will really hit Kim Jong-un in the wallet and that is perhaps the only sort of rebuke the diminutive dictator would take to heart.

It wasn’t just the assassination either. That story was unfolding at precisely the same time as news of North Korea’s most recent ballistic missile launch was being widely reported. The Chinese are in the midst of a rather delicate dance with President Donald Trump at the moment, coming to terms with the cancellation of TPP and the need to potentially have to negotiate an entirely new bilateral trade agreement with the United States. Add to that the fact that Kim Jong-nam had enjoyed the protection of the Chinese for many years and you have a pair of slaps to the face which it seems the Chinese were unwilling to accept.

The sad part of all this is that such a financial hit to North Korea’s trade situation likely will not produce the desired result if the dictator’s past actions are any guide. Odds are that he will continue with his nuclear ambitions and wholesale slaughter of his political opponents (including family members) and simply cut back spending in other areas such as feeding his own people. North Korea is already a nation of people living on the brink of starvation, though the few international media cameras allowed into the country are never permitted to show it. With less money coming into Kim’s coffers this humanitarian disaster could worsen even further....

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Sunday that he does not see the press as the enemy of the American people, disagreeing with a claim made by President Trump on Friday.

Mattis, asked directly about Trump’s criticism of the media, said he has had “some rather contentious times with the press” but considers the institution “a constituency that we deal with.” The defense secretary added: “I don’t have any issues with the press myself.”

A senior Trump administration official was fired following criticism in a private speech of President Donald Trump's policies and his inner circle of advisers.

  20. But the proposal contains more than just a peace plan. Andrii V. Artemenko, the Ukrainian lawmaker, who sees himself as a Trump-style leader of a future Ukraine, claims to have evidence — “names of companies, wire transfers” — showing corruption by the Ukrainian president, Petro O. Poroshenko, that could help oust him.

And Mr. Artemenko said he had received encouragement for his plans from top aides to Mr. Putin.

“A lot of people will call me a Russian agent, a U.S. agent, a C.I.A. agent,” Mr. Artemenko said. “But how can you find a good solution between our countries if we do not talk?”

  22. “Mosul would be a tough fight for any army in the world, and the Iraqi forces have risen to the challenge,” Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, the commander of the American-led effort against the Islamic State, said in a news release from United States Central Command announcing the beginning of the operation. Some of the 450 American advisers on the ground in Iraq are helping Iraqi officers plan and carry out the offensive.

Reached by telephone, residents in western Mosul described the elation they felt at the approach of government troops. “All we have left to eat is tomato paste.

We are eating it with salt,” said Umm Anwar, 41, who asked to be identified only by her nickname. “We are ready to kill ISIS ourselves with knives, or by biting them, because we are in so much pain.”

In that way, today’s life extensionists might follow the proud tradition of other explorers who shot for another galaxy and ended up straddling the moon. “The alchemists write about trying to find elixirs of gold and immortality. They never find that, but they discovered chemistry,” Solomon said. “Ponce de Leon never found the fountain of youth, but he found Florida.”

Swampy areas near Gooding....ho ho ho that's wet.

The only water down there is in the irrigation canal.

    Ho ho ho

    Here is what I said,

One sad note, Mr. Bob aka 'The Turnip' is still running wild in the countryside down in the Snake River Valley near Gooding.

I said near Gooding not in Gooding. In his feral state there is little chance that Mr. B would approach any town or city unless desperate for food.

Here's a map of Idaho's wetlands. Anyone that knows anything about Idaho should know where Gooding is and that there are wetlands all around the general area.

It appears the summary of the Enquirer's medical/psychological profile on Mr. Bob was dead on.

QuirkSat Feb 18, 08:31:00 PM EST

...I won’t bore you with all the details but it seems to be pretty much as expected including describing Mr. Bob in psychological terms such as…

    ‘troubled’

    ‘delusional’

    ‘paranoid’

    ‘possibly dangerous’

The evaluation also included phrases nearly word for word to those you reported were used by Mrs. B…

    ‘brain is fried’

    ‘coocoo for cocoa puffs”

    And

    ‘crazy old coot’

    The report summary includes…

Final evaluation: Brain dead yet still walking.

Probable Cause: Years of substance abuse, popping GMO’s, and telltale alfalfa spores found in his bloodstream.

    Prognosis: Hopeless

    Recommendations: Bag em

    I plan to...

All we can do is hope those high school kids are able to bag him.

  25. The Snake don't flow through Gooding County, city dude.

    It forms the southern border.

They suck some water up and into some canals.

    See a canal here:

Otherwise it's usually drier than Egypt.

    See typical drought map here:

  27. THE DIRE COST OF EUROPE’S MULTICULTURALISM
Sacrificing a continent on the altar of utopian ideals.

    February 20, 2017 Joseph Puder

While Germany is on its way to committing demographic and cultural suicide with the admission of millions of Middle Eastern and African migrants, Sweden is already there. The people of Sweden are allowing its radical leftist governing parties and its equally pandering press to expedite their national demise. The Gatestone Institute reported (December 22, 2014) that before the scheduled March, 2015 elections, the current Social-Democrat and Greens party coalition government enacted “a measure far less publicized, that came into effect that Christmas (2014). The measure was designed to make it easier to prosecute those who offend immigrants, immigration policies, LGBT people and politicians online.”

According to Gatestone “even immigrants themselves do not seem to be allowed to challenge immigration policy or immigrant culture. Last year a Somali-born female journalist, critical of immigrant culture, was intimidated to such an extent by the Swedish journalistic establishment that she decided Mogadishu (Somalia) was a safer place for her than Sweden.”

Only in Sweden does the government take out loans to make welfare payments to migrant Muslim gang-rapists. While the government and its compliant leftist press blew out of proportion an attack on migrants, it had been silent on the rapes by mainly Arab and African Muslim migrants on Swedish women. The U.K. Daily Mail reported (March 4th, 2016) that “What is worrying is that if the Stockholm Station story has been blown out of proportion, it could have artificially fueled pro-migrant sentiment and made ordinary Swedes less ready to voice their worries about mass migration. Fears of a cover-up have been fueled by an investigation published by a flourishing online Swedish news outlet Nyherer Idag, showing that Swedish authorities hid from the public sexual assaults by immigrant gangs on scores of teenage girls at a popular Stockholm music festival booth last year and in 2014.”

Needless to say that in the EU states, anti-immigrant voices are stifled by archaic laws that are undemocratic to say the least. Europe’s EU bureaucrats are moreover suppressing free speech in the interest of promoting disastrous immigration policies. Europe has traded Christianity and pride in its civilizational accomplishment for the falsehood and insanity of multiculturalism.
