COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

  5. Please, he is shaking up the sclerotic , crooked and corrupt US political establishment. Whether he pulls it off or not, we shall see, but we have haver seen the forces of US power be taken on like this. We heard pretty and poetic from Kennedy and Obama and practiced oratory from Reagan, but Trump, with no political organization and experience, is in reach of taking the power owing no one anything.

Sure he is a brash New York real estate developer and talks the way they talk but he has a career building things, On the other hand , we have Hillary with a career of knocking buildings down, killing and wounding millions and creating generations of refugees destabilizing the Middle East and spilling over into Europe. Why?

She will stop at nothing to keep and expand her power. She and Obama are taking on Russia. Why?

The US military could not win a war in Afghanistan with fifteen years, three thousand dead and almost a trillion dollars and have accomplished nothing. What will she do with Russia, who basically just wants respect?

Why are we supporting Saudi Arabia? Why?

    Trump has found his voice.

I’ll take Trump, warts and all.

Hillary answers questions under oath and risk of perjury

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Thursday submitted written answers under penalty of perjury in a lawsuit about her use of a private email server while secretary of State, Politico reported.

In the answers, submitted to conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, the Democratic nominee wrote 20 times she didn't recall the information that was requested, according to Politico.

"Secretary Clinton states that she does not recall being advised, cautioned, or warned," about her email server, lawyers for Clinton wrote.

"She does not recall that it was ever suggested to her, and she does not recall participating in any communication, conversation, or meeting in which it was discussed that her use of a clintonemail.com e-mail account to conduct official State Department business conflicted with or violated federal record keeping laws."

On Monday, Clinton signed the legal filing "under penalty of perjury."

A federal judge had ordered her to answer written questions in connection with a Freedom of Information Action lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch.

Lawyers for Judicial Watch had initially requested a live deposition to question the Democratic nominee.

Russia orders all relatives of government officials home

Russia could be prepping for a new "global war" and has reportedly ordered all the relatives of officials abroad home to Russia, according to a new report.

"This is all part of the package of measures to prepare elites to some 'big war,'" Stanislav Belkovsky, a Russia analyst, is quoted by the Daily Star as saying.

"If you want a confrontation, you'll get one. But it won't be a confrontation that doesn't harm the interests of the United States. You want a confrontation, you'll get one everywhere," said retired Russian Lt. Gen. Evgeny Buzhinsky.

"As [Russian President Vladimir] Putin sees it, it is full-scale confrontation on all fronts," Buzhinsky said...

This comes as former Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev has warned that the world is at a "dangerous point" due to rising tensions between Russia and the United States, citing a "collapse of mutual trust..."

He was in undercover ops of some kind, and he strolled through neutral ports like an innocent tourist, memorizing the ships, their sizes, flags, etc. and reporting back.

He could do this because he truly did have a rat trap memory. No camera or notepad required.

Some of this activity took place in South and Central America, if I recall correctly.

  20. KABUL, Afghanistan — Outgunned and surrounded by Taliban fighters in a chronic combat zone of southern Afghanistan, the police officers and soldiers thought they had negotiated passage to safety.

They had walked into a trap.

In what appears to be one of the worst massacres of Afghan forces in a protracted and forgotten war, at least 100 were killed when the Taliban fighters opened fire on them from all directions as they tried to flee through the agreed-upon retreat route, Afghan officials said Wednesday.

Accounts of the massacre, which happened Tuesday near the southern city of Lashkar Gah in Helmand Province, punctuated a growing crisis in Afghanistan’s armed forces that goes to the heart of their sustainability: They are sustaining enormous casualties from a revitalized Taliban insurgency and are facing increased problems recruiting. Many vacancies go unfilled.

The Taliban insurgents have opened simultaneous fronts across the country in recent months, overrunning districts and besieging major urban centers. The insurgents managed to easily capture parts of Kunduz for a second time on Oct. 3, and hold them until finally forced to retreat on Wednesday after a week of devastating urban battles that displaced tens of thousands of people.

  21. "Q"Nit of the Day: Boston, USA: 'Reborn' Muzzie Shoots Two Cops

Boston: Muslim who had Islamic “rebirth” shoots two police officers
October 13, 2016 8:46 pm By Robert Spencer

Cue the stories about how this has nothing to do with Islam, and about how local mosques are now fearing an “Islamophobic backlash.”

“5 Investigates: Suspect in Boston police shooting wrote of Islamic ‘rebirth,’ had several aliases,” WCVB, October 13, 2016 (thanks to Robert):

BOSTON —5 Investigates uncovered six aliases used by Kirk Figueroa, the man killed by Boston police after he shot two officers on Wednesday night in East Boston.

He took on an alias as he experienced what he called an Islamic “rebirth” in Africa.

The aliases, along with his seeming obsession with police and security, help make Figueroa a picture of contradictions and confusion: a 33-year-old man who started companies in Florida and other states focused on security and protection who yesterday nearly killed two police officers responding to a domestic violence call.

5 Investigates uncovered a job posting for “Police Protection” for one of those companies, Bailrunners. In it, Figueroa identifies himself as Muhummed Isa Al Mahdi. The ad said Al Mahdi was looking for people interested in helping him “hunt down fugitives and bring them to justice.”

5 Investigates also discovered a posting from Muhummed Isa on a website guide for mosques from October 2012. Isa wrote about his “rebirth as a baby into the Nation of Islam” following a trip to an area of Ethiopia and a mosque in South Africa.

Isa went on, writing that his unique and blessed journey was prepared and guided by Allah.

Most recently, Figueroa was using the name Kocoa Xango on social media, identifying himself as a police constable. His last post under that name came just a few hours before the fatal shooting, posting a video by Michelle Obama and then a picture of himself after getting a haircut.

  23. Turning the USA Totalitarian for the 'Better Good'

Whatever you think of Donald Trump, the election of Hillary Clinton will be a moral and legal catastrophe unprecedented in the history of our country from which it may never recover. Sound excessive? Think what you wish, but the fact of the matter is the USA will have an unindicted criminal as president and no one knows what the consequences will be.

With each passing day it becomes clearer the investigation of the Hillary Clinton email scandal was such a sham that it did far more than merely tarnish the reputations of the FBI and the Department of Justice. It distorted our legal system beyond recognition.

The FBI and Justice Department have apparently been used by one political party to keep the other out of power by covert manipulation of our system. That means these institutions have been turned on their heads into instruments of state oppression extraordinarily close to those used by totalitarian regimes.

The Wall Street Journal describes the latest revelations this way:

FBI files reveal missing email 'boxes' in Clinton case, allegations of evidence tampering

By Catherine Herridge, Pamela K. Browne Published October 06, 2016 FoxNews.com

Women who accuse Bill Clinton of assault share their stories

Buried in the 189 pages of heavily redacted FBI witness interviews from the Hillary Clinton email investigation are details of yet another mystery -- about two missing “bankers boxes” filled with the former secretary of state’s emails.

The interviews released earlier this month, known as 302s, also reveal the serious allegation that senior State Department official Patrick Kennedy applied pressure to subordinates to change the classified email codes so they would be shielded from Congress and the public.
The details about the boxes are contained in five pages of the FBI file – with a staggering 111 redactions – that summarize the statements of a State Department witness who worked in the “Office of Information Programs and Services (IPS)." The employee told the FBI that, “Initially, IPS officials were told there were 14 bankers boxes of former Secretary of State Hillary CLINTON’s emails at CLINTON’s Friendship Heights office.” Friendship Heights is a neighborhood that straddles the Northwest neighborhood of the District of Columbia and Maryland.

The State Department witness further explained to the FBI that “on or about December 5, 2014, IPS personnel picked up only 12 bankers boxes of CLINTON’s emails from Williams & Connolly.”
The officials were not sure if the boxes “were consolidated or what could have happened to the two other boxes. “

Clinton’s chief lawyer at Williams & Connolly, who leads all Clinton-related legal matters, is David Kendall. He has successfully represented Bill and Hillary Clinton together and separately throughout decades of their legal entanglements since the 1980’s, ranging from the former president’s sex scandals to missing billing records for Hillary Clinton’s work as a partner in The Rose Law Firm on behalf of the failed Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan and Capital Management Services.
In the documents provided by Kendall’s law firm, the witness told the FBI they were “unable to locate any of her emails from January-April 2009.” This timeframe is crucial as it covers the start of Clinton’s term as secretary of state and when she set up a private server for all government business, in turn skirting public records laws.

    1. In the same Aug. 18, 2015, interview, on page 42, the State Department witness also told the FBI there was a deliberate effort to change sensitive Clinton emails bearing the “B(1)” code -- used in the Freedom of Information Act review process to identify classified information -- to the category of “B-5.” That category covers Executive Branch deliberations, “interagency or intra-agency communications including attorney client privileges,” and makes material exempt from public release.
Over five pages of the single-spaced summary notes, the witness, whose name is redacted, alleges Clinton’s team which included Undersecretary for Management Patrick Kennedy played classification games to confuse and obfuscate the formal FOIA review process.

“(Redacted) believed there was interference with the formal FOIA review process. Specifically, STATE’s Near East Affairs Bureau upgraded several of CLINTON’s emails to a classified level with a B(1) release exemption. (Redacted) along with (redacted) attorney, Office of Legal Counsel called STATE's Near East Affairs Bureau and told them they could use a B(5) exemption on an upgraded email to protect it instead of the B(1) exemption."

In early May 2015, the witness reported, "… KENNEDY held a closed-door meeting with (redacted) and (redacted) DOJ's Office of Information Programs where KENNEDY pointedly asked (redacted) to change the FBI's classification determination regarding one of CLINTON's emails, which the FBI considered classified. The email was related to FBI counter-terrorism operations.”

This appears to be one of two emails that kick-started the FBI probe in the summer of 2015. Fox News first identified the two emails containing classified information as well as sensitive law enforcement information sent by Clinton aides Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan to Clinton’s unsecured server.

State Department spokesman John Kirby consistently has stated the majority of the 2,100 Clinton server emails containing classified information were "retroactively classified" and not classified at the time they were sent and received. But that explanation is disputed by seasoned intelligence officials. Even the State Department witness cast doubt on the claim in the FBI interview:....

DiGenova slams FBI director after new report found rank and file wanted to prosecute Clinton

Former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova blasted FBI Director James Comey’s decision not to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton in light of a new report indicating the rank and file at the nation’s top law enforcement agency wanted to pursue prosecution.

“Comey’s a dirty cop,” diGenova said Thursday on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” “And If there’s one thing a prosecutor hates worse than a criminal, it’s a dirty cop … He threw this case. He did it for political reasons. He lied publicly about the quality of the case. He lied publicly about the law. He lied publicly about the ability to get documents when he could have used the grand jury and he didn’t.”

Laura Ingraham and diGenova both wondered why Comey authorized the destruction of Clinton’s computers after the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private server ended.

“If this were a Republican, the press would be going crazy about obstruction of injustice,” said diGenova.

    1. DiGenova said his law firm will represent any FBI agent who comes forward and wants to testify before Congress about Comey’s investigation.

On the presidential race, diGenova said the "Never Trump" faction should realize there are only two choices in the election: Trump or Clinton. He bashed the Bush family for failing to honor Jeb Bush's pledge to support the nominee.

"This is a binary choice," said diGenova. "It's her and the ruination of the Supreme Court and the federal prosecutorial function, or Donald Trump"

Under President Obama, the IRS and the Justice Department were weaponized by the government against the people, he said. "[Clinton] will preside over the most corrupt administration since the Teapot Dome scandal," said diGenova. "This is about the future of the country."
