COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Why I Now Feel Compelled To Vote For Trump

Why I Now Feel Compelled To Vote For Trump
Last time a Clinton was on the ballot, I voted for Ross Perot. My vote didn’t deny Bob Dole the White House, but I confess I felt a smug sense of satisfaction in “refusing to settle.” I sure showed them, didn’t I?

I haven’t been as vocal as other “Never Trump” writers, but neither have I hidden my dislike or tempered my criticism. In a field of 17 Republican candidates, Donald Trump wouldn’t have been my 18th choice. I’m still not a fan. But they didn’t just ask me; they asked everyone. And more of everyone chose Donald Trump.

I couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t. For countless reasons I’ve covered over the last year, I dug in my heels and proudly basked in my self-satisfaction. I still defended Trump in this column and on social media when he was wrongly attacked by the left and the media, but I was steadfast in my opposition to the man.
So what changed?

Not Trump. He still gives rambling speeches with little focus and spends far too much time defending himself against insignificant slights when he should be focusing on policy (though his ethics reform proposal is excellent and will irritate all the people in Washington who need to be irritated).

Hillary hasn’t changed either. At least not in who she is – a corrupt, self-serving liar willing to do or say anything to win and/or sell out to the highest bidder. There isn’t enough Saudi Arabian money in the Clinton Foundation to get me to vote for someone who got rich off “public service” and a “commitment to helping the poor.”

No, what’s changed is me. Not through introspection and reflection, but through watching the sickening display of activism perpetrated by a covert army with press credentials.

Bias has always been a factor in journalism. It’s nearly impossible to remove. Humans have their thoughts, and keeping them out of your work is difficult. But 2016 saw the remaining veneer of credibility, thin as it was, stripped away and set on fire.

More than anything, I can’t sit idly by and allow these perpetrators of fraud to celebrate and leak tears of joy like they did when they helped elect Barack Obama in 2008. I have to know I weighed in not only in writing but in the voting booth.
The media needs to be destroyed. And although voting for Trump won’t do it, it’s something. Essentially, I am voting for Trump because of the people who don’t want me to, and I believe I must register my disgust with Hillary Clinton.
I am not of the mindset that any vote not for Trump is a vote for Hillary, but a vote for Trump is a vote against Hillary. And I need to vote against Hillary. I need to vote against the media.

After the last debate, when no outlet “fact checked” Hillary’s lie that her opposition to the Heller decision had anything to do with children, or her lie that the State Department didn’t lose $6 billion under her leadership, I couldn’t hold out any longer.

A Trump administration at least will include people I trust in positions that matter. I don’t know if they will be able to hold him completely in check, but I know a Clinton administration will include people who have been her co-conspirators in corruption, and there won’t even be a media to hold her accountable.

The Wikileaks emails have exposed an arrogant cabal of misery profiteers who hold everyone, even their fellow travelers deemed not pure enough, in contempt. These bigots who’ve made their fortune from government service should be kept as far away from the levers of power as the car keys should be kept from anyone named Kennedy on a Friday night. My one vote against it will not be enough, but it’s all I can do and I have to do all I can do.

I won’t stop being critical of Trump when he deserves it; I won’t pretend someone is handing out flowers when they’re shoveling BS. But I’d rather have BS shoveled out of a president than our tax dollars shoveled to a president’s friends and political allies.

The Project Vertias videos exposed a corrupt political machine journalists would have been proud to expose in the past. The Wikileaks emails pulled back the curtain on why that didn’t happen – journalists are in on it. I can’t pretend otherwise, and I have no choice but to oppose it.

This isn’t a call to arms for “Never Trumpers” to follow suit; this is a choice I had to make for myself after much reflection. I wouldn’t presume to tell others how to act any more than I would accept the same from someone else. I would encourage them to consider what awaits the country should Hillary win. If they can’t vote against her by voting for him, at least spend these last two weeks of the election directing their ire toward Clinton.

Although most are principled, far too many “Never Trump” conservatives spend more of their time attacking him than pointing out her corruption. I get it – in him, you see the fight you’ve been a part of being betrayed, and that leaves a mark.
I’m not saying you should support him, but you shouldn’t lose sight of the importance of opposing her. If, or when, Hillary Clinton takes the oath of office, she needs to have as little support as possible. Frankly, she needs to be damaged. The mainstream media won’t do it; they’re in on it.

This is my choice, what I must do. Each person has to come to this decision on their own terms. And the fact remains there simply aren’t enough “Never Trump” Republicans to make up Trump’s current deficit, and that’s on him. But I know what I’ve been wrestling with these past few weeks is not unique to me. And I don’t know about you, but I simply cannot sit around knowing there was something else I could have done to oppose Hillary Clinton and I didn’t do it.
A simple protest vote for a third party or a write-in of my favorite comic book character might feel good for a moment. It might even give me a sense of moral superiority that lasts until her first executive order damaging something I hold dear – or her first Supreme Court nominee. But the sting that will follow will far outlive that temporary satisfaction.

I oppose much of what Donald Trump has said, but I oppose everything Hillary Clinton has done and wants to do. And what someone says, no matter how objectionable, is less important than what someone does, especially when it’s so objectionable. A personal moral victory won’t suffice when the stakes are so high. As such, I am compelled to vote against Hillary by voting for the only candidate with any chance whatsoever of beating her – Donald Trump.

Thirty-two Sudanese and one Afghan migrant arrived from Calais to a reception and orientation centre in Chatellerault, in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, on Monday evening and were welcomed by local authorities.

But the welcome in other regions, such as the eastern village of Chardonnay that had a group of Sudanese migrants arrive on Monday, have been lukewarm, according to local media.

You are thinking of your bottle of wine, resting between your legs, in a paper bag, while you stare stupidly at the Detroit Local News on the tellie.

      Our Sister City is:

      Moscow/Villa El Carmen Partnership

Since 1986 Moscow, Idaho has enjoyed a sister city relationship with Villa El Carmen, Nicaragua.  Working with Sister Cities International Moscow has made connections, sponsored trips, donated supplies and more.  While the City of Moscow sponsors the dues for the program, a local group of dedicated people who work with the Moscow Sister City Association are the driving force behind the relationship.

That is to say, Republican taxpayers like yours truly pay the bills for the operation, which was put together by the local commies, who get free air fares back and forth, too. Paid for, again, by my property taxes, of course, of course.

  5. The anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks posted on Monday an email exchange that it claims shows top Hillary Clinton campaign staffers discussing a “swift boat project” aimed at Donald Trump.

“I know you can’t look past Bernie and March primaries — but who is in charge of the Trump swift boat project? Needs to be ready, funded and unleashed when we decide — not a half assed scramble,” one of the campaign’s consultants, Joel Johnson, purportedly wrote to Clinton’s communications director, Jen Palmieri, in February of this year.

“Gee. Thanks, Joel. We thought we could half-ass it,” Palmieri purportedly replied, sarcastically.

Clinton Team Ran Highly Scripted Campaign, WikiLeaks Emails Indicate
“Swift boat” refers to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group behind a coordinated campaign to discredit then-Sen. John Kerry during his presidential run in 2004. The phrase has become Washington-speak for an attack that is personal, ugly and often untrue.

ABC News reached out to Johnson for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The emails posted Monday are among more than 30,000 emails allegedly hacked from accounts of Clinton’s senior staff and dumped over the last few weeks in the WikiLeaks database. The emails seem to include several hundred if not thousands of duplicates and redundancies.

In response, the Clinton campaign released a statement today, saying, “In a brazen display of collusion, Russian state owned television continues to promote WikiLeaks’ releases even before [WikiLeaks founder Julian] Assange can do it even after it’s been proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the Russians are the source of the purported [Clinton campaign chairman John] Podesta material. Given a third opportunity on the debate stage to admit and condemn the Kremlin’s actions, Donald Trump refused to do it and instead continues to act as Putin’s puppet despite being briefed by U.S. intelligence. It is bizarre and disqualifying that he continues to cheer on this attack on our democracy. It is time for Donald Trump to tell the American people what he knows and when he knew it.”

The campaign’s chief strategist, Joel Benenson, told ABC News’ “This Week” Sunday that he has seen things in the emails that “we know aren’t authentic.” He declined to elaborate.

Newt Gingrich Slams Megyn Kelly's Trump Coverage: "You Are Fascinated With Sex, And You Don't Care About Public Policy"

A debate between former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Fox News Channel's Megyn Kelly grew heated Tuesday night when Gingrich accused Kelly of participating in a media pile-on about Donald Trump's sex scandals.

"I'm sick and tired of people like you using inflammatory language that is not true," he said about her characterization of Donald Trump as a potential "sexual predator."

"Do you want me to go back to the tapes of your show recently?" he raged. "You are fasctinated with sex and you don't care about public policy."

NEWT GINGRICH: Let me point out something to you: The three major networks [NBC, ABC, CBS] spent 23 minutes attacking Donald Trump that night, and 57 seconds on Hillary Clinton's secret speches. You don't think that is a scale of bias worthy of Pravda?

MEGYN KELLY: If Trump is a sexual predator, that is--

GINGRICH: He's not a sexual predator. You can't say that. You could not defend that statement.

KELLY: I have not taken a position on it.

GINGRICH: I'm sick and tired of people like you using inflammatory language that is not true.

KELLY: Excuse me, Mr. Speaker, you have no idea whether it is true or not. What we know--

    GINGRICH: Neither do you.

KELLY: I'm not taking a position on it.

GINGRICH: Yes you are. When you used the words, you took a position. It is very unfair of you to do that, Megyn.

    KELLY: Incorrect.

GINGRICH: That is exactly the bias people are sick of.

KELLY: I think that your defensiveness on this speaks volumes, sir... What I said if if Trump is a sexual predator, than it is a big story. And what we saw on that tape was Trump himself saying he liked to grab women by the genitals, and kiss them against their will. Then we saw ten women come forward after he denied it at a debate... He denies it all, which is his right. We don't know what the truth is. My point to you is, as a media story, we don't get to say the ten women are liars. We have to cover that story.

GINGRICH: So it took 23 minutes for the networks to cover that story, and Hillary Clinton had a secret speech in Brazil to a bank that pays her $225,000 saying that her dream is an open border where 600 million people could come to America, that is not worth covering.

Do you want me to go back to the tapes of your show recently. You are fasctinated with sex and you don't care about public policy.

    KELLY: Me, really?

GINGRICH: That's what I get out of watching you tonight.

KELLY: I'm not fascinated by sex, by I am fascinated by the protection of women and what we're getting in the Oval Office.

GINGRICH: That's why we're going to send Bill Clinton back to the East Wing, because you are worried about a sexual predator... Do you want to comment on whether the Clinton ticket has a relationship to a sexual predator?

KELLY: We on 'The Kelly File' have covered that story as well, sir.

GINGRICH: I want to hear you say the word. Say Bill Clinton is a sexual predator. I dare you.

KELLY: Mr. Speaker, we have covered that. We on 'The Kelly File' have covered the Bill Clinton story as well. We've hosted Kathleen Willey... But he is not on the ticket.

      From Tom's Dispatch...

Why Is It So Hard to Reduce the Pentagon Budget?

William Hartung outlines the history and the reasons why the US military's defense budgets rise in a positively sloped line with only small and temporary periodic dips. It all boils down to greed, influence, politics and scare tactics.

It is a lengthy article but it makes the obvious point that whoever wins the White House it will make little difference to the boys at the Pentagon.

Although rarely discussed due to the focus on Donald Trump’s abominable behavior and racist rhetoric, both candidates for president are in favor of increasing Pentagon spending. Trump’s “plan” (if one can call it that) hews closely to a blueprint developed by the Heritage Foundation that, if implemented, could increase Pentagon spending by a cumulative $900 billion over the next decade. The size of a Clinton buildup is less clear, but she has also pledged to work toward lifting the caps on the Pentagon’s regular budget. If that were done and the war fund continued to be stuffed with non-war-related items, one thing is certain: the Pentagon and its contractors will be sitting pretty.

As long as fear, greed, and hubris are the dominant factors driving Pentagon spending, no matter who is in the White House, substantial and enduring budget reductions are essentially inconceivable. A wasteful practice may be eliminated here or an unnecessary weapons system cut there, but more fundamental change would require taking on the fear factor, the doctrine of armed exceptionalism, and the way the military-industrial complex is embedded in Washington.

Only such a culture shift would allow for a clear-eyed assessment of what constitutes “defense” and how much money would be needed to provide it. Unfortunately, the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned Americans about more than 50 years ago is alive and well, and gobbling up your tax dollars at an alarming rate...

  28. WikiLeaks reveals fears and frustrations inside Clinton world

The emails show that while aides struggled to get past the public controversy, they also expressed exasperation at each other and, at times, at Clinton — both for her decision to use the server and for the way she handled questions about it. Several exchanges illustrate fears among some top advisers that Clinton and other aides were demonstrating the very traits that polls suggested made her vulnerable:
A penchant for secrecy and a hesitancy to admit fault or error.

“We’ve taken on a lot of water that won’t be easy to pump out of the boat,” Podesta wrote to Tanden in September 2015, at a time when Clinton’s campaign feared that Vice President Biden was about to enter the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
“Most of that has to do with terrible decisions made pre-campaign, but a lot has to do with her instincts.”

Tanden responded, “Almost no one knows better [than] me that her instincts can be terrible.”

  34. Anti-Trump Violence Sweeps the Nation
Media pays little attention to escalating attacks, thousands of threats against Trump supporters

by Matthew Vadum | Updated 26 Oct 2016 at 9:55 AM

While the mainstream media has been working day and night promoting Hillary Clinton’s candidacy, it has largely ignored or downplayed violent attacks against supporters of Donald Trump.
But assaults on Trump supporters appear to be growing increasingly common as Election Day approaches and tensions intensify. Reports of Trump lawn signs and banners being stolen and defaced are everywhere on social media.

No doubt there will be plenty more such assaults in the final two weeks as Americans head to the polls.
Making matters worse, undercover video evidence emerged showing senior Democrat operatives Robert Creamer and Scott Foval acknowledging using dirty, likely illegal tricks against the Trump campaign. Their goal was to generate negative media coverage of Trump rallies by fomenting violence at them. The media eagerly used the various fisticuffs and melees the Democrats created to attempt to discredit Trump by depicting his supporters as violent, knuckle-dragging crazies.

The videos, shot by ACORN slayer James O’Keefe’s group Project Veritas Action, show Foval on camera saying his agents “infiltrate” Trump events. “It doesn’t matter what the friggin’ legal and ethics people say, we need to win this motherf****er.” He adds, “we’re starting anarchy here.”

Creamer, previously convicted of felony bank fraud, has visited the Obama White House more than 300 times. In one of the videos, he says Hillary Clinton personally knows about the false flag operation. Her campaign “is fully in it,” Creamer confirms. “Hillary knows through the chain of command what’s going on.”

Despite their aversion to covering stories that put Trump in a sympathetic light, members of the media had no choice but to cover the extremely newsworthy Oct. 15 weekend firebombing of Republican Party headquarters in Orange County, North Carolina. Gov. Pat McCrory called the arson “an attack on our democracy,” while one GOP official called it an act of “political terrorism.” Spray-painted on the building next door were a swastika and the sentence “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else"

Meanwhile, most physical attacks on Trump supporters make only  local news outlets — if that. Rarely do such assaults get mentioned on the evening TV broadcast news or in The New York Times or The Washington Post. That's because they don't fit the leftist narrative that Republicans are violent, racist, Islamophobic homophobes.

Despite a lack of evidence, the Left deployed the same false narrative against the Tea Party movement virtually from its formation, while defending the criminal hooligans of Black Lives Matter and Occupy Wall Street as nonviolent and benign. Currency speculator George Soros has contributed to both movements through his philanthropy.

Here is a compilation of some of the attacks on Trump supporters:.......

    The Tempest and the Witch

    By Philip Ahlrich

In Shakespeare's play, The Tempest, the "damned witch" Sycorax is never seen and presumed dead, but her elemental force works upon the mind of Prospero throughout, suggesting a powerful but unknowable and inarticulate evil that threatens the spell-woven order of the magical island.  Although absent from the stage, the witch nevertheless represents a demonizing, subversive and thought-ending influence, the same human influence that every well-conceived constitutional order of government must meet and overcome if it is to endure.  But Sycorax, as it turns out, is not dead after all, for she has chosen this moment to enter into the liberal spirit of the Democratic Party and she is now plainly visible on the political stage as a crooked and unsympathetic figure, neither beloved nor trusted, in pursuit of the presidency of the United States of America.

As the witch Sycorax was an unseen threat to Prospero’s well-laid order, Hillary Clinton and the liberal establishment represent a covert threat not only to the Constitution's fundamental law but also to the ideal of democracy itself.  The purpose of our republican form of government is to deny legitimate office to illegitimate power, because once political power has become entrenched, its administrators will always find the means, through a general disregard of constitutional order, to perpetuate their advantage and self-interests through their appropriated rule-making authority.  Democracies decline in this manner too easily into one-party rule and ultimately into a species of despotism, whether a despotism of the many, the few, or the one, as in the Venezuelan model.  It would be unwise to deem ourselves invulnerable to this historical imperative.

All democratic societies are vulnerable to the political choices available to them.  In the fallout of our present election, a Clinton presidency will further license a progression of entrenched power at the center of our government -- a state of affairs from which there can be little hope of recovery.

In one sense, Hillary Clinton represents an image of the stereotypical politician: ambitious, unprincipled, and guided only by political self-interest.  But in another more disturbing impression, she embodies all that is indecent and corruptible with human character in pursuit of power.  Her dishonesty precedes her like an advertisement.  Everyone knows she will lie, for she, like Obama, studies and calculates upon the political advantages that accrue to dishonest rhetoric.  Power is the opiate of the liberal mind.  She speaks the insider's voice and she is delirious on the insider's intoxication with power.  The elitist environment in which she swims is as undemocratic in its nature as despotism itself, and the spirit of Sycorax is manifest in her open contempt for the American people who, in her own words, are little more than "a basket of deplorables."  That she feels she must lie in every speech and upon all occasions in order to gain their votes is a clear signal of her disrespect for them.  It is a disease of our culture that the entire Democratic establishment finds political advantage and comfort in agreeing with her unconcealable disdain for the "stupidity" of millions who wish only to live their lives without the interference of government, and the fact that many of these same Americans, hearing and believing her lies, are willing to vote for her merely reinforces that liberal sentiment.

    1. We have reached that point in our political affairs most feared by the founders of our republic: the virtual tyranny of one-party rule.  Progressive interests in the Democratic Party have discovered the means by which they may perpetuate themselves in power indefinitely, and they have only to win the presidency and the Senate at this time in order to achieve that victory over the American people they have sought after for one hundred years.

It should surprise no one then that America has now become the toy of faction.  The forthcoming election will tell us if the people understand its consequences: that whether or not we are interested in saving the future of America from the destruction of the democratic process by progressive interests within the Democratic Party.  We fear corruption at the highest levels, but we can no longer ignore the disastrous effects of entrenched power within the Obama administration.  We have experienced the failure of the FBI to recommend an indictment of any person to the Justice Department regarding Secretary Clinton’s illicit private email server and the subsequent closure of that department’s investigation.  We know that a top State Department official offered key overseas posts to the FBI in exchange for de-classifying certain Clinton emails found on the server -- an illegal "quid pro quo."  We have further discovered that the FBI issued numerous grants of immunity from prosecution to significant players under Secretary Clinton’s supervision in exchange for information, and that the FBI has subsequently allowed for the destruction of devices holding that information.  We understand that Attorney General Loretta Lynch may have been influenced by a meeting with former President Bill Clinton on the tarmac at the Phoenix airport immediately prior to the FBI's decision not to seek an indictment against his wife.  Further evidence of corruption regarding the State Department’s collusion with the pay-to-play culture inside the Clinton Foundation are too numerous to be listed here.

History will record the Obama presidency as an era of ideologically induced political injustice, the consequences of which would ensure the establishment of a significant class -- a permanent majority, in fact -- of American voters dependent entirely on government programs for their subsistence. But subsistence is need without trust. One may accept the benefits of government assistance while still disparaging the policies and conditions that make assistance necessary. This is, however, the social programming scheme upon which the Democratic Party builds for its success. A Clinton presidency will certainly do nothing to discourage the socialist promises of entitlement or the political disease and enmity infecting our culture. Two very disturbing conclusions thus emerge from the consequences of liberal policies presently enacted: the first, that justice is the rule of the stronger party; and the second, that bad government creates an uncivil society.

We can feel the nation disintegrating as though from a disease we cannot name or understand. But the disease is political in its nature and one of deep-running stasis, and a malignant progressive ideology is its cause. We dream of medicines and cures, for it is not our republican form of government at fault, nor the Constitution that created it, but the bad people, maddened with ideology and emboldened by the conviction that they are above the law, who, by election or appointment, have entered into the system and cheapened every value necessary to self-government.

    3. The catastrophe is foreseeable and credible, and therefore preventable. America can no longer suffer for the entitlement schemes of a few in the power of office. We have had the benefit of time to reflect upon the consequences of our last two presidential elections. To anticipate that our lives and our fortunes will improve by electing another Democrat to the presidency is to embrace a cheating fancy and to bid farewell to reason -- for if America fails in her yet unfinished republican task, we shall know at last that neither ordered liberty nor self-government are possible in this world.

    The Flint Water Crisis

The task force appointed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder to investigate what happened in Flint, Michigan has released a scathing 116-page report on how a failure of government at all levels allowed the city’s drinking water to become contaminated with elevated levels of lead.
In particular, the report slams the federal Environmental Protection Agency, claiming the agency was unlikely to enforce clean drinking water regulations in Flint in the absence of “widespread public outrage.”

“EPA failed to properly exercise its authority prior to January 2016. EPA’s conduct casts doubt on its willingness to aggressively pursue enforcement (in the absence of widespread public outrage),” the Flint Water Advisory Task Force found…

    The EPA Response...

The [Michigan Department of Environmental Quality] slow-walked all the things that needed to be done to find out how to fix the problem,” McCarthy told Congress in a recent hearing, adding that EPA was “strong-armed” and “misled” about the magnitude of the crisis.

Media reports, however, noted EPA officials responsible for overseeing drinking water quality knew about the lead problems in Flint since at least April 2015, but the agency did nothing to notify the public. The agency also took no enforcement actions against Michigan regulators until January 2016.

In fact, House Republicans released an internal EPA memo in September from Debbie Baltazar, who heads up the EPA’s water division for Region 5, which said, “I’m not so sure Flint is the community we want to go out on a limb for...”

Every Department within the Obama administration has been riddle with corruption and/or incompetence for the past 8 years. Fraud and waste contribute 25% to the current budget deficit according to the IG. Every head of every intelligence agency including the head of those 17 agencies Clinton cites hwo have accused Russia have admitted to lying to the public and to Congress. Every other agency and department has been charged with or convicted of corruption, malfeasance, incompetence, and in some cases felonies. Yet, none, zero, zip have ever suffered for their corruption, certainly none have ever gone to jail. The EPA is just the latest and it's this is not their first.

That they are allowed to get away with it disgusts me.

    By James Taranto
Thinking of signing up for ObamaCare? You’re better off spending your money on beer, says Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini. “As the rates rise, the healthier people pull out because the out-of-pocket costs aren’t worth it,” Bertolini tells Bloomberg. “Young people can do the math. Gas for the car, beer on Fridays and Saturdays, health insurance.” More:
Premiums for health plans sold to individuals under the ACA, known as Obamacare, are going up by about 25 percent on average for next year. Bertolini said that as costs rise, more individuals will decide not to buy health plans. That’ll push premiums even higher, unless a new president and lawmakers can find fixes for the new markets created by the 2010 health law.
“What happens is the population gets sicker and sicker and sicker and sicker,” Bertolini said. “The rates keep rising to try and catch it. It’s a fruitless chase, and ultimately you end up with a very bad pool of risk.”
Isn’t it refreshing to have a little truth in advertising for a change? Here we have a CEO of a company straightforwardly telling consumers that his product isn’t worth buying. Buy beer, instead, he says—and Aetna is not in the adult-beverage business.
OK, that overstates the case. As the Bloomberg piece notes, Bertolini’s comments are less a warning against Aetna’s (and its competitors’) shoddy product than an explanation as to why the company is dramatically reducing its offerings:
Aetna itself is largely ending sales of ACA plans, because it’s recording hundreds of millions of dollars of losses on the policies. The insurer will offer individual coverage on the ACA’s exchanges in four states for next year, down from 15.
ACA stands for Affordable Care Act, itself a short form of ObamaCare’s Orwellian official name, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Bertolini would like Congress to “make changes to the market,” in Bloomberg’s words, to allow his company to re-enter the market and turn a profit.
Still, Bertolini is a truth-teller by the standard of ObamaCare, a massive consumer fraud marketed under the slogan “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” Whereas a corporate executive who told a lie as brazen as that would be at serious risk of prison, when the country’s CEO tells a “political” lie, he faces little by way of accountability—including from the news media, which advertise themselves as advocates for the public interest answering power with truth.

Pennsylvania is a major plantation state. Philadelphia, a few miles to the south of Bucks County, where I live, turns out 300,000 Democrat votes every 4 years by hook or by crook, mostly by crook.

Pastors in the black churches hand out absentee ballots to the congregants weeks before the election, who sign but do not fill them in. Same with door to door in the black neighborhoods, all exposed a few years ago by the ultra liberal morning paper.

The collected absentee ballots are then filled in by party members, and the voters then are encouraged to vote again at the polls on election day.

An election map of Pennsylvania showing Republican counties in red and Democrat counties in blue show the state solid red except for a tiny blue dot in the southeast corner that is Philadelphia and a tiny blue dot in the west that is Pittsburgh.

The Democrats have the system down pat, and no one says a word because it all happens in the black wards, and to suggest fraud invites screamed charges of racism.
