COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

  2. My last column noted that although America is fighting something like five wars, nobody seems to be talking about it. It would be nice if that were the only important subject that’s not getting enough attention but it isn’t.

    ...

    Corruption

In 2006, Rep. Nancy Pelosi led a campaign to take Congress back from the GOP by claiming that the Republicans had fostered a “culture of corruption,” and promising to “drain the swamp.” That catchphrase vanished after the election, but the corruption did not.

    ...

    ObamaCare’s Implosion

The Affordable Care Act, better known as “ObamaCare,” was passed via a procedural trick called “reconciliation” and without a single Republican vote. Now that it is falling apart, and the Obama Administration — and the press — are blaming . . . Republicans for not fixing it.

    ...

    The Debt

Clinton has repeatedly claimed that she won’t "add a penny” to the national debt. On the one hand, that would be good, since the debt has roughly doubled during Obama’s time in office. On the other hand, she’s largely been allowed to slide on this implausible promise, and the increase in the debt under Obama has received surprisingly little attention, despite the burdens it will impose on millennials in terms of taxes and lost opportunities.

Pennsylvania is a major plantation state. Philadelphia, a few miles to the south of Bucks County, where I live, turns out 300,000 Democrat votes every 4 years by hook or by crook, mostly by crook.

Pastors in the black churches hand out absentee ballots to the congregants weeks before the election, who sign but do not fill them in. Same with door to door in the black neighborhoods, all exposed a few years ago by the ultra liberal morning paper.

The collected absentee ballots are then filled in by party members, and the voters then are encouraged to vote again at the polls on election day.

An election map of Pennsylvania showing Republican counties in red and Democrat counties in blue show the state solid red except for a tiny blue dot in the southeast corner that is Philadelphia and a tiny blue dot in the west that is Pittsburgh.

The Democrats have the system down pat, and no one says a word because it all happens in the black wards, and to suggest fraud invites screamed charges of racism.

  5. Same in Detroit.

    Same in Baltimore.

But if you try to give a political speech in a Lutheran Church you're called on the carpet for it.

  6. Frankly, I am really beginning to worry about Quirk -

Every Department within the Obama administration has been riddle with corruption and/or incompetence for the past 8 years. Fraud and waste contribute 25% to the current budget deficit according to the IG. Every head of every intelligence agency including the head of those 17 agencies Clinton cites hwo have accused Russia have admitted to lying to the public and to Congress. Every other agency and department has been charged with or convicted of corruption, malfeasance, incompetence, and in some cases felonies. Yet, none, zero, zip have ever suffered for their corruption, certainly none have ever gone to jail. The EPA is just the latest and it's this is not their first.

That they are allowed to get away with it disgusts me.

Everyday, sometimes twice a day, he writes about his disgust, nausea, anger, rage and even puking his guts out over the way things are under Obama.

But I don't know what to do about it other than:

    VOTE TRUMP !!

    1. IDIOT!

The obvious answer is to vote for Obama term 3 by not voting for Trump, which is what he has pledged he will do.

    4. Quirk has kept his idiotic 'Pledge'.

He has voted, but not for Hillary or The Donald.

I highly suspect he has written himself in, as when I accused him of it, he did not deny it, but tried to 'pivot'.

His campaign has been suspended, since Hillary gave him the $50 bucks to shut the hell up.

She was embarrassed for our country, she said, and was afraid of possible violence after the way he got run out of Hamtramck.

And wants him well and in health, as she is thinking of him as a future male lover, to balance her perpetual affair with 'Hamas' Huma Abedin.

Ever since the campaign suspension he has been lurking about here. And will, until Hillary moves into the White House.

If he didn't write himself in he has a sacred duty to tell us all for whom he voted.

    1. VIDEO: Aide Dashes To Help Hillary Climb One Step....DRUDGE

VIDEO: Hillary grips aide’s hand — to climb one step
      OCTOBER 26, 2016
      BY GEORDIE BARRINGTON

Hillary Clinton needed a helping hand to trek up a single step during a visit in Florida today.

Clinton was outside to greet supporters in Lake Worth when she attempted to stand on a small riser.

She needed assistance to get onto it as she could be seen reaching her hand out for a boost or some added steadiness.

      VIDEO

An aide extended his hand and Clinton held on tightly as she made her way up the 18 inches.

He could be seen standing behind her and at one point reached out to grab her waist, perhaps thinking she was about to fall.

If she wins she'll be our first wheel chair President since FDR.

  8. Russian or Syrian warplanes are believed to be responsible for an airstrike in Syria's rebel-held Idlib province that killed 26 people, including 15 schoolchildren.

    ...

Meanwhile, in Aleppo, people sit and wait.

Those in Eastern Aleppo are very afraid of this continuing offensive.

Recent reports suggested that rebels in the East were preventing civilians from leaving.

Ambulance coordinator Hassan Alhalabi, who works with a Save the Children partner NGO in East Aleppo, rejected those reports as untrue.

The US defence secretary, Ash Carter, who was at the Nato meeting in Brussels, said the arrival of US troops in eastern Europe follows the decision taken at the Warsaw summit. “Together, we’re strengthening deterrence here,” he said.

Carter said the United States would also lead a battalion in Poland as part of Nato’s enhanced forward presence.

  13. Pakistani authorities have arrested the green-eyed Afghan woman who became a symbol of her country's wars 30 years ago when her photo as a girl appeared on the cover of National Geographic magazine, her family said.

    ...

Ms Gula was for years an unnamed celebrity after an image of her as a teenage Afghan refugee was featured on National Geographic magazine's cover in 1985, her striking green eyes peering out from a headscarf with a mixture of ferocity and pain.

    ...

Ms Gula's arrest comes amid new Pakistani pressure to send 2.5 million Afghan refugees back to their home country, despite offensives by Taliban insurgents that kill and maim thousands each year.

I just sitting here making up 'Pringles rings' to hand out to the kids for Halloween and I checked in to see what was going down. I must say that after watching the video Deuce put up I'm kind of disappointed that there aren't a number of poems posted here yet reflecting you're frustration with Clinton and this election.

I kind of thought this stream would have already been loaded with limericks, haiku, sonnets, and even epic poems by now.

Trump is not going to win with this lack of enthusiasm.

House Republicans are already preparing for ‘years’ of investigations of Clinton

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Jason Chaffetz, the Utah congressman wrapping up his first term atop the powerful House Oversight Committee, unendorsed Donald Trump weeks ago. That freed him up to prepare for something else: spending years, come January, probing the record of a President Hillary Clinton.
“It’s a target-rich environment,” the Republican said in an interview in Salt Lake City’s suburbs. “Even before we get to Day One, we’ve got two years’ worth of material already lined up. She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain’t good.”

If Republicans retain control of the House, something that GOP-friendly maps make possible even in the event of a Trump loss, Clinton will become the first president since George H.W. Bush to immediately face a House Oversight Committee controlled by the opposition party. (Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama lost Congress later in their presidencies.)

And other Republican leaders say they support Chaffetz’s efforts — raising the specter of more partisan acrimony between them and the White House for the next four years.

“The rigorous oversight conducted by House Republicans has already brought to light troubling developments in the [Hillary] Clinton email scandal,” the office of House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) said in a statement to The Washington Post. “The speaker supports [Oversight’s] investigative efforts following where the evidence leads, especially where it shows the need for changes in the law.”

And the Oversight Committee may not be the only House panel ready for partisan battle. While the Select Committee on Benghazi appears to have finished its work, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a committee member who says Clinton might have perjured herself on questions about her email, said recently that he wants the committee to continue.

If she wins, Clinton would enter office with low favorable ratings and only one-third of voters considering her “honest and trustworthy.” As a result, Republicans are not inclined to give her a political honeymoon. To many of them, a Clinton victory would mean that Trump threw away an election that anyone else could have won.

“This should have been a slam dunk for the GOP,” party consultant Frank Luntz said Sunday on CBS News’s “Face the Nation...”
