COLLECTIVE MADNESS

Do you remember Cyprus? Do you care?

On the 20th July 1974, Turkey launched a massive military invasion against Cyprus, a predominantly Greek independant island state of the Eastern Mediteranean. By the 18th August 1974, the Turkish invasion forces had occupied 37% of the island's territory and proceeded to ethnically cleanse the areas under its military control of its Greek population.

In total, over 160.000 Greeks from over 150 towns and communities, who made up the overwhelming majority of the population of the Turkish occupied areas and one third of the total island's population, were forced to leave their homes and have since been prevented by the illegal occupation regime from returning there.

Russia-Georgia conflict
Georgia and Russia went to war in August 2008 over South Ossetia, which along with Abkhazia split from Georgia after the Soviet Union crumbled in 1991,
The 2008 conflict resulted in Russia recognising both breakaway regions as independent countries and stationing thousand of troops there in what Tbilisi considers a de facto occupation.
Meanwhile, Moscow battles against North Caucasian armed groups who are seeking their own independent state.

The Chinese Communist government led by Mao Zedong which came to power in October lost little time in asserting a new Chinese presence in Tibet. In October 1950, the People's Liberation Army entered the Tibetan area of Chamdo, defeating sporadic resistance from the Tibetan army.

  2. WiO,

I hate to step on your thread first thing, but as one of Ash's Islamophobes I think you will understand.

The graph is a picture worth a thousand words.

Muslims Earn Sweden the Title of “Rape Capital of the World”

    - Muslims make up 6% of Sweden’s Population

    - Why then are 77% percent of the Rapes Committed by Muslims?

The only way to fix such a problem is either halt immigration altogether, or to bring down the law on Muslim immigrants who are unwilling to obey. However, such actions force Swedish officials to recognize the root of the problem – Islam.

    1. Not the same, but still not pretty:

New abuse documents detail Chicago archdiocese missteps

Thousands of pages of secret church documents released Tuesday as part of a court settlement provide an unprecedented and gut-wrenching look at how the Archdiocese of Chicago for years failed to protect children from abusive priests.

The documents provide new details and insights into how the nation’s third-largest archdiocese quietly shuttled accused priests from parish to parish and failed to notify police of child abuse allegations. The paper trail, going back decades, also portrays painfully slow progress toward reform, accountability and openness.

Most of the 30 clergymen tied to the documents were not prosecuted. They were shielded by Roman Catholic Church officials who thought the men could be cured with counseling or bishops blinded by a belief in second chances and forgiveness.

  5. Again, however, the hurdles are formidable. A subsea pipeline from Leviathan to Turkey must cross the Cypriot continental shelf, which, for practical purposes, requires permission from the Cypriot government.

    ...

Building an Israel-Turkey pipeline connected to a Cyprus LNG terminal offers strategic opportunities that transcend economics, including a chance for Israel and Turkey to restore their strategic partnership. It would also push Turkey to reach an agreement on the Cyprus question, removing a 40-year irritant in relations with Europe and re-energizing Turkey’s flagging efforts to join the EU.

The U.S., working with the EU, should help to shape this future.

  6. Roman Catholicism has found itself the target of its failures. I believe that the Roman Catholic Church is making a sincere effort to clean house. But whatever the failures, they were not Roman Catholic Doctrine and were considered abhorrent and hurtful to the Church and its charges.

This cannot be said of Islam, which provides instructions on the appropriate protocols for bestiality, pedophilia, and pederasty.

On one hand is a church which regrets the sins of its errant sons; on the other is a political system (Islam) which normalizes and encourages the sins of its savage sons. The moral void is unbridgeable.

  7. Few Rich in the USA have time to go yachting w/Ash

Rich America is working America: Wealthy households contain on average more than four times as many full-time workers as do poor households, and, surprisingly, inherited wealth constitutes a smaller share of their assets than it does for middle-class and poor households.

They live modestly relative to their means and for the most part do not work on Wall Street or as corporate executives.

The caricature of the rich American as a child of privilege who inherited a fortune and spends his days shuttling between mansions in a private jet is largely a product of the imagination of such would-be class warriors as Elizabeth Warren and Robert Reich, neither of whom lives in Section 8 housing, or even downwind of it.

The relatively minor role of inherited money in the lives of wealthy Americans is worth examining in some detail. Senator Bernie Sanders, the self-described socialist from Vermont, has been known to complain indignantly that “today the Walton family of Walmart own more wealth than the bottom 40 percent of America.” But that fact is rather less telling than Senator Sanders imagines it to be.

    Never mind the Waltons:

If you have a net worth of $0.01, then your wealth exceeds that of the poorest quarter of Americans combined — their net worth begins in negative territory and tops out at $0.00.

The Waltons are not typical of rich America. Wealth transfers — inheritances and gifts combined — constitute a small part of the holdings of the rich, whether you define “rich” in terms of income or net worth.

The piece is called "Dr. V's Magical Putter," and it tells the unusual tale of Essay Anne Vanderbilt, who designed a golf putter that attracted positive attention. In the course of reporting the article, writer Caleb Hannon discovered that several purported facts about Vanderbilt's life had been falsified.

Hannon also learned that Vanderbilt had been born a man and was living life as a woman.

Critics of Hannon's article have alleged, among other things, that his reporting contributed to Vanderbilt's suicide in October 2013.

What would the EU do without Russian energy transfers? What would the US do without Chinese subsidies? As for Cyprus, it is not worth more than the effort of lip service.

Israel, on the other hand, is a small country with oil rich enemies, surrounded by millions of fanatical Muslims. Something must be done about its alleged "occupation" of Palestine - easy pickings. There is no danger of broken alliances, trade wars, or Russian extortion. 13. Actual Unemployment Rate Is 37%, 'Misery Index' Worst in 40 Years

    Paul Bedard

Don't believe the happy talk coming out of the White House, Federal Reserve and Treasury Department when it comes to the real unemployment rate and the true “Misery Index.” Because, according to an influential Wall Street advisor, the figures are a fraud.

In a memo to clients provided to Secrets, David John Marotta calculates the actual unemployment rate of those not working at a sky-high 37.2 percent, not the 6.7 percent advertised by the Fed, and the Misery Index at over 14, not the 8 claimed by the government.

Marotta, who recently advised those worried about an imploding economy to get a gun, said that the government isn't being honest in how it calculates those out of the workforce or inflation, the two numbers used to get the Misery Index figure.

Sign Up for the Paul Bedard newsletter!

“The unemployment rate only describes people who are currently working or looking for work,” he said. That leaves out a ton more.

“Unemployment in its truest definition, meaning the portion of people who do not have any job, is 37.2 percent. This number obviously includes some people who are not or never plan to seek employment. But it does describe how many people are not able to, do not want to or cannot find a way to work. Policies that remove the barriers to employment, thus decreasing this number, are obviously beneficial,” he and colleague Megan Russell in their new investors note from their offices in Charlottesville, Va.

They added that “officially-reported unemployment numbers decrease when enough time passes to discourage the unemployed from looking for work. A decrease is not necessarily beneficial; an increase is clearly detrimental.”

Then there is the Misery Index, which is a calculation based in inflation and unemployment, both numbers the duo say are underscored by the government. He said that the Index doesn’t properly calculate how Uncle Sam is propping up the economy with bond purchases and other actions.

“These tricks, along with a host of other dubious accounting schemes, underreport inflation by about 3 percent,” they wrote, adding that the official inflation rate is just 1.24 percent.

“Today, the Misery Index would be 7.54 using official numbers,” they wrote. But if calculations tabulating the full national unemployment including discouraged workers, which is 10.2 percent, and the historical method of calculating inflation, which is now 4.5 percent, ‘the current misery index is closer to 14.7, worse even than during the Ford administration.”

Nazareth Christians Warned Against 'Slandering' Allah

As Christians of every stripe in Jesus' hometown of Nazareth begin to again take a real stand for their faith, local Muslims are warning them not to overstep the boundaries of their traditional place in the Middle East (hint: they must remain dhimmis, or second-class).

A large billboard hanging at a central point in Nazareth features a picture of an Israeli stop sign, along with the English translation of a verse from the Koran cautioning Christians (and Jews) to speak only the "truth" regarding Allah.

The poster (and Koran 4:171) reads:

"O people of the Scripture (Christians)! Do not exceed the limits of your religion. Say nothing but the truth about Allah (The One True God). The Christ Jesus, Son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God and His word conveyed to Mary and a spirit created by Him. So believe in God and His messengers and do not say: 'Three gods (trinity)'. Cease! It will be better for you. Indeed, Allah is the One and the Only God. His Holiness is far above having a son."

Evangelical Christians from Nazareth have become a growing and integral part of the overall Messianic body in the land, while traditional Christians (Catholics, Greek Orthodox, etc) have been waking up to their historical and religious connection to the Jews and are joining the Israeli army in ever greater numbers.

Special thanks to Israel Today contributor Brian Schrauger for pointing out the Nazareth poster on his Facebook page

    A Living Shamanistic Oral Tradition:

    Ifugao hudhud, the Philippines

    Maria V. Stanyukovich

The most ancient genres of oral literature date back to the time when
one ritual specialist performed the functions of epic singer, shaman, and
priest. Once studied in Siberia and Central Asia, these ancient forms are
better preserved nowadays in insular Southeast Asia.

The Ifugao hudhud oral tradition, which I have been studying for the
last two decades, is the core of ritual and ideology among highlanders of
    Northern Luzon, Philippines.

The Ifugao are wet-rice cultivators who until
the early twentieth century practiced headhunting, preserving their
traditional society with no political and very loose territorial organization.

The hudhud meets all the standards typical of heroic epic patterns,
including plot structure and formulaic style (Stanyukovich 1983).

At the same time it is a highly archaic combination of heroic epics and shamanistic
narratives. The hudhud characters are regarded as ancestors and
incorporated into the male pantheon as part of the Hulupe class of
    benevolent deities.

The female ideology that looks so much out-of-place in the genre of
the heroic epic is another striking characteristic of the hudhud.

It emerges that while male epic concentrates on violence, expressed through a system of
headhunting based on rage, enmity, and vengeance, female epic concentrates
on the problem of peacemaking and represents a tradition of heroic exploits
in which no blood whatsoever is spilled
    .

After a series of battles during which no one is either killed or wounded, the principal hudhud characters exchange sisters and celebrate a double marriage.

That means a total elimination of enmity: the next generation will have no enemies.

    ---

This is why we must pray for the election of Hillary Clinton as our next President.

She has been studying the female editions of the Ifugao hudhud, and will bring Peace on Earth as there is in Wellesley College.

  22. The link between body and image is waiting to be further verbalised. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare wrote that 'imagination bodies forth the forms of things unknown' (Act 5, Scene 1). If counter transference communications are both images and bodily visions, then body and image shimmer to get her almost to the point of fusion. Here we may find quite another message in the word 'incarnate', that outgrowth of 'embodied'. When Plaut explained in 1970 what he had meant when he used the word in 1956, he was worried that the religious association to 'incarnate' (spirit made flesh) had been troublesome. It seems to me, however, that his intuition was reliable. In the countertransference experience, the image is being made flesh. Where that means that the Other (the client's psyche) is becoming personal (in the analyst's body), I would conclude that an analyst's countertransference may be further understood by regarding it as a religious or mystical experience.

Before this is dismissed as fanciful, parallels might be drawn between countertransference and a well-known list of the characteristics of the mystical experience (Happold, 1963, pp.45-7).
◦First, mystical states are ineffable; that is, they cannot be fully described to one who has not experienced something similar.
◦Second, mystical states lead to knowledge and insight, often delivered with a tremendous sense of authority.
    ◦Third, mystical states are transient.
◦Fourth, mystical states happen to a person; even if he or she prepared him/herself, he or she is gripped by a power that feels quite foreign.
◦Fifth, there is a sense that everything is connected to everything else, an intimation of purpose.
◦Sixth, the mystical experience is timeless.
◦Finally, the familiar ego is sensed not to be the real 'I' (see Powell, 1985).

These points can be compared to the counter-transference described in this paper. It is difficult to explain them to one who has not experienced them. The analyst does gain insights from them, often in a shattering way Countertransference states are momentary. Even analytical training cannot fully anticipate or prepare for the countertransference experience. One does feel connected to one's client, in an intimacy at once beautiful and unbearable. Countertransference reactions have no sense of history-, past and present are jumbled, Finally, the analyst knows his or her ego is not responsible for what is happening to him or her.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Koss (1986) also suggested that states of possession entered into by spirit healers may be compared to typical countertransference experiences. Similarly, in Chassidic mysticism, reference is made to a quality known as Hitlababut, or ecstasy Buber held that this quality transforms ordinary knowledge into a knowledge of the meaning of life. For the Chassids, Hitlababut expresses itself bodily, in dance. As Buber says, in dance 'the whole body becomes subservient to the ecstatic soul' (Buber, 1931, p-35). Analysis, too, is a form of dance, and ecstasy is not an inappropriate word to describe some of the emotions generated (and reported in the research project).

Corbin regards the mundus imaginalis as 'indispensable for placing the visions of prophets and mystics, this is because it is there that they 'take place' and deprived of the imaginal world they no longer "take place... (Corbin, 1978, p.4). Both reflective and embodied countertransference have their location in the mundus imaginalis, which is also the medium for their transmission. These connections between mysticism and analysis need not seem surprising. Psychology and religion cannot simply let go of each other. it is not enough to say that one explores depths and the other heights, that one is about soul and the other about spirit, one about dreams and the other about miracles, that one is concerned with immanence and the other with transcendence. It is not the case that this analytical mysticism is a mysticism of the one true God. Far from it. Analysis is a mysticism of persons - and hence polyvalent, pluralistic, many-headed, many-bodied.

The idea of a mysticism of (or between) persons is one by which contemporary theology is captivated (and this in addition to Buber's work). For example, a theologian writes: 'There is no point at all in blinking at the fact that the raptures of the theistic mystic are closely akin to the transports of sexual union' (Zaehner, 1957, p-151). The erotic dimension is introduced purposefully: transference, incest, sexuality form one spine of analysis. This is how D. H. Lawrence describes lovemaking in Sons and Lovers: 'His hands were like creatures, living; his limbs, his body, were all life and consciousness, subject to no will of his, but living in themselves.

There is a propensity for those abused to become abusers themselves.

you and wio (and others here - maybe most?) hate muslims

    ASH

Please provide an example of my having stated that I hate anyone.

No, Ash, you project your insecurities as a Muslim onto others who point out the violent propensities and sexual perversions expounded by ISLAM and its exegetic literature.

Ash, when I provide examples of Muslims turning Sweden into a charnel house, no hate is involved. “Facts is facts”, as the man said. Were you normal, you would not accuse the messenger of hate. Instead, you would be embarrassed to find your people behaving with such savagery, knowing that that savagery would one day come back to haunt them.

I do want to correct one misconception in the second post of this thread. While 6% of Sweden’s population is Islamic, only about 1.5% (max) of Sweden’s population could be responsible for the epidemic of rapes. As you see, the problem is far, far worse than the author unwittingly portrayed. An accurate accusation would have been,

__Sexually active Muslim males make up 1.5% of Sweden’s population.

__Yet 77% percent of the Rapes Committed are by sexually active Muslim men.

This is not hate speech or hatred, Ash, it is a cold hard fact which you found inconvenient to your relative morality. Therefore, you injected Jews and Judaism into the mix to distract from an uncomfortable reality. That is hatred, Ash, and a universal form of anti-Judaism.

    1. "No, Ash, you project your insecurities as a Muslim onto others who point out the violent propensities and sexual perversions expounded by ISLAM and its exegetic literature."

Ash, my good man, have you really gone Ummah on us?

If so, how can I possibly remain your most loyal and faithful friend and supporter?

Seeing as how you'd, basically, want to blow me away?

Tell me it ain't so, Ash.

    Barack Hussein Soebarkah?
    By Jason Kissner

One of the unexplained mysteries in the scanty documentation of the early life of the 45th President of the United States is the appearance of the name Soebarkah as his last name on an official document filled out by his mother.

In a recent contribution to American Thinker, Nick Chase offers very persuasive evidence that the long-form birth certificate released by Obama is a forgery.

While in the midst of developing an argument supporting the idea that Obama was adopted by the Indonesian Lolo Soetoro, Chase states:

Finally, we have Stanley Ann Soetoro's 1968 application to extend her 1965 passport (now destroyed) for an additional two years, as shown in Figure PPA.

On the second page of the application, Ann moved to exclude her son Barack Hussein Obama (Soebarkah) from her passport, but the item has been crossed out -- perhaps on the advice of the consulate in Jakarta, as this would have left seven-year-old Barry passportless -- so it didn't happen.

The appendage "(Soebarkah)" has never been satisfactorily explained by anyone, and I certainly don't know what "Soebarkah" means, but it does seem to indicate a name change or change in citizenship status for the boy.

Clearly, just what constitutes "a satisfactory explanation" varies with respect to persons, subject matter, context, and so forth.

And yet, there is a very good -- and simple -- explanation for the seemingly random appearance of the sobriquet "Soebarkah" on Mother Soetoro's passport application.

Believe it or not, the reason may be linked to one Loretta Fuddy.

There is a propensity for those abused to become abusers themselves.
you and wio (and others here - maybe most?) hate muslims
    ASH

Ash! How can you say that? I don't HATE Moslems. I take them at their word. They TELL me they wish to kill me.

Hate has NOTHING to do with it.

Israel has a population that INCLUDES 20% moslem. I don't hate them. They do not advocate my genocide.

Ash you really don't have a clue.

Being prepared to to take out, kill or neutralize a violent jihadist terrorist has NOTHING to do with hate.

I love life. I wish everyone did, including Moslems.

Nothing like a good bottle of scotch, a good woman and a good steak.

And for those that like it? Some baby back ribs....

    Ash learn to love...

    putz.
