COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

    >>>There is nothing confusing about what happened that night and in the following weeks. We don't need all the gritty and ugly details, easily available on the internet. It is obvious that Obama and Hillary had to issue the directives. The CIA or the military would not ignore a terrorist attack on a U.S. embassy on 9/11. Both CIA chief, General Petraeus, and AFRICOM'S commander, General Ham, said they did not issue orders to not intervene. The directive could only come from our Commander in Chief. Can you imagine if no one asked President George Bush how to respond to 9/11 because he was busy talking to elementary school children? President Obama was not even busy. He just retired for the night, we are told. He was told about what was happening and he did...nothing.

There was no meeting of the national security team in the situation room, so familiar to us all from the President's Bin Laden photo op. Obama did not talk again with his Secretary of Defense. American military forces stationed 600 miles away in Sicily - one hour and fourteen minutes away by a commercial airliner - were not sent. We didn't send medical personnel. After the first attack, we didn't send men to secure the annex. Pleas for help were ignored. Special operating forces in Libya were ordered twice to not go to the rescue. The men in Benghazi were left on their own to fight and die.<<<

What Hurts the Most about Benghazi
    By Karin McQuillan

    >>>Asked why the U.S. military did not do more, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Thursday the first rule in such a situation is not to deploy troops into harm's way ...

Clearly no orders reached Panetta to "do whatever we need to" to secure personnel. Obama's and Clinton's lies were offensively transparent the moment they uttered them....

....Obama calculated he could get away with it before the election, and he did. Clinton calculated her supporters would care less, and she is still right. She knew that the interviews of the family members, their pleas for justice, would not touch the hearts of her followers - and she was right. The abandonment of those men was condoned and covered up and excused with alacrity by the entire Democrat political apparatus, including the Democrat media.

They got away with it because Democrat followers don't care.

That is as immoral as it comes for me.<<<

Ruf is right, he and most of his Democrats simply don't give a damn.

    2. What a crock of shit.

A small US compund, in Benghazi is described, as the EMBASSY in boobie's newest missive.

      Talk about your taking points!

Let's at least get writers that know what, where and who the target of the terrorist attack was.

Misinformation and and Iraq style spin.

Say terrorist attack and consulate or even EMBASSY enough and the sheeple will baaahlieve it!

    3. Why would anyone believe or even care about musings that do not represent the truth?

      No EMBASSY was attacked, boobie.

That you would post an article that references such an attack, against the US EMBASSY in Benghazi, which is not there, just plain stupid.

      Oh, it is you.

    1. "One theme ties all the bizarre aspects of the Benghazi scandal together — the doctored talking points, the inexplicable failure to beef up diplomatic security before the attacks and to send in help during the fighting, the jailing of a petty con artist on the false charge that his amateur video had led to attacks on our consulate, and the shabby treatment of nonpartisan State Department whistleblowers.

There was an overarching pre-election desire last year to downplay any notion that al Qaeda remained a serious danger after the much-ballyhooed killing of Osama bin Laden. Likewise, Libya was not supposed to be a radical Islamic mess after the successful "lead from behind" ouster of Moammar Gadhafi. Facts then had to change to fit a campaign narrative.

      ---

At about the same time as the Benghazi and IRS disclosures, it was widely learned that there was a strange relationship between the Obama White House and the very center of the American media — odd in a way that might explain the unusually favorable media coverage accorded this administration.

Ben Rhodes, the deputy national security adviser for strategic communications in the Obama administration, is linked to the doctoring of the Benghazi talking points. He also happens to be the brother of CBS News President David Rhodes. CBS recently pressured one of its top reporters, Sharyl Attkisson, for "wading dangerously close to advocacy," as one report worded it, in her critical reporting of Benghazi.

Unfortunately, such relationships are not rare with this administration. The head of ABC News, Ben Sherwood, has a sister who works for the Obama White House as a special assistant, Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall.

There is more. The CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Mrs. Clinton's former aide at the State Department, Tom Nides, who is also a former Fannie Mae executive. Mr. Carney, Obama's press secretary, is the husband of Claire Shipman, the senior national correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America."

Apparently, in the logic of the Obama White House and the Washington media, there is nothing improper about wives dispassionately reporting to the nation on what their husbands are doing, or brothers adjudicating the news coverage of their own siblings."

Conners has hired St. Louis attorney Merle Silverstein. Silverstein issued a letter to media outlets claiming that the corporate order “is the only reason for his silence.”

Conners wrote Monday night that shortly after he interviewed President Obama and his wife in April of 2012, the IRS “started hammering” him.

“At the time, I dismissed the ‘co-incidence’, but now, I have concerns … after revelations about the IRS targeting various groups and their members,” Conners wrote"

  7. SCHIEFFER:

    "Why are YOU here?"

SCHIEFFER: But Mr. Pfeiffer, and I don't mean to be argumentative here, but the President is in charge of the executive branch of the government.

It’s my, I'll just make this as an assertion: when the executive branch does things right, there doesn't seem to be any hesitancy of the White House to take credit for that.

When Osama bin Laden was killed, the President didn't waste any time getting out there and telling people about it.

But with all of these things, when these things happen, you seem to send out officials many times who don't even seem to know what has happened.

And I use as an example of that Susan Rice who had no connection whatsoever to the events that took place in Benghazi, and yet she was sent out, appeared on this broadcast, and other Sunday broadcasts, five days after it happens, and I'm not here to get in an argument with you about who changed which word in the talking points and all that.

The bottom line is what she told the American people that day bore no resemblance to what had happened on the ground in an incident where four Americans were killed.

    True Scandal

A tea-party group targeted by Democrats gets attention from the IRS—and the FBI, OSHA, and the ATF.

    By Jillian Kay Melchior

    >>>Catherine Engelbrecht’s tale has all the markings of a classic conspiracy theory: She says she thinks that because of her peaceful political activity, she and her family was targeted for scrutiny by hostile federal agencies.

Yet as news emerges that the Internal Revenue Service wielded its power to obstruct conservative groups, Catherine’s story becomes credible — and chilling. It also raises questions about whether other federal agencies have used their executive powers to target those deemed political enemies.

Before the Engelbrecht family’s three-year ordeal began, Catherine says, “I had no real expectation or preparation for the blood sport that American politics is.” Sounding weary on the phone, she continues: “It’s all been a through-the-looking-glass experience.”

Cleta Mitchell, a lawyer who specializes in representing conservative organizations, says that the Engelbrecht family’s experience is “just the tip of the iceberg. . . . I think there’s definitely a Chicago-politics-style enemies list in this administration, and I think it permeates this branch of the federal government.”<<<
