COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

    JOHN KERRY: OBSTACLE TO PEACE

Kerry believes that peace is what happens when the bad guys win.

    December 29, 2016 Daniel Greenfield
Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam.

Before Obama decided to “abstain” from standing with Israel in a UN vote condemning the Jewish State, he had abstained from voting in defense of America in a UN resolution condemning the United States.

Obama, like Power and Kerry, have treated Israel just like they treated the United States.

John Forbes Kerry began his miserable career as a traitor seeking “peace” by pandering to the Communist leader negotiating on behalf of the Viet Cong. He concludes his miserable career in the Senate and as Secretary of State by going to war in the name of “peace” against the only democracy in the Middle East on behalf of a totalitarian Islamic ideology and its terrorist bands of killers.

Half a century has passed. The Berlin Wall fell. So did the Soviet Union. But John Kerry remains the same.

A few months after he slimed his way into the Senate, Kerry flew to Nicaragua to meet with the ruling Communist thugs to try and sabotage aid to the resistance against their regime in the name of “peace”. The Sandinistas treated Kerry like a pathetic patsy, humiliating him by allying openly with the USSR right after their man in Washington D.C. had successfully pleaded their case to his colleagues.

Comandante was only the first of many dictators and terrorists to humiliate John Kerry. But Kerry has never resented any of his Communist or Islamist tormentors. You can set Kerry’s hair on fire and dunk his head in the toilet to put it out… and he will still come crawling back to take your side of things.

But there is one thing that Nantucket’s greatest windsurfer will not forgive or forget. Freedom.

For the worse part of five decades, Kerry has waged a vicious war against countries that have freedom on behalf of those that don’t. Nothing gets his goat like a civilized country, his own or any other, staving off a murderous band of thugs and terrorists. And no country has endured so well in that fight as Israel.

Kerry’s career as Secretary of State has been a miserable failure highlighted by stretches of spectacularly incomprehensible stupidities, from his Syria WMD non-offer to boycotting the solidarity march after the Charlie Hebdo massacre and then trying to compensate by flying in James Taylor to sing, “You’ve got a friend.” Less publicized though was his spectacular failure to negotiate “peace” between Israel and the Islamic terrorists of the Palestinian Authority who are still trying to destroy it.

The Ketchup Gigolo threw everything he had into making “peace”. Just like his effort to make peace with the Viet Cong and the Sandinistas, not to mention sundry other tyrants and terrorists, he went in assuming that the bad guys were the good guys and the good guys were the bad guys.

In the twisted mind under those Frankenstein hair plugs, peace is what happens when the bad guys win.

    1. John Kerry didn’t try to implement the two-state solution that he keeps raving about by encouraging Israel and the Islamic terrorists to negotiate with each other. That would have been absurd. Instead he pretended to act as an intermediary between the two sides while actually representing only the PLO.

As one Israeli official said, “We discovered that throughout the entire period, the Americans didn’t actually talk to the Palestinians, only to us.” Why bother talking to the side that you’re already on?

But, just as it had in Nicaragua, that proved to be a serious mistake. While Kerry focused on pressuring Israel to make concessions, he, like Bill Clinton, hadn’t figured out how to get the Islamic terrorists to accept them.

Kerry brought his wonderful peace proposal to Mahmoud Abbas, a fine graduate of the USSR’s Peoples' Friendship University, along with Timochenko, the head of the Marxist FARC narcoterrorists. Kerry would, very predictably, meet with Timochenko earlier this year, despite his own State Department having a $5 million reward on his head, in yet another failed bid to force an ally to make peace with terrorists.

Excitedly, the traitor revisited the scene of his past treason, meeting with Abbas in Paris, to give him the good news. Kerry expected the terrorist leader to be overjoyed as the gift that he had brought over. Instead the terrorist turned up his nose. Kerry desperately passed the gift, of land, blood and security, extracted from Israelis, over to Obama to give to Abbas. Obama and Abbas met for two hours in the Oval Office. Abbas told Obama he might think it over and call. Like the bad date he was, he never did.

Kerry desperately wanted to be friends with the terrorists. But the terrorists didn’t want to play. “I have exhausted my time with John Kerry,” Abbas cried. "This is it."

Instead of negotiating any kind of peace, Kerry relayed blackmail threats from the terrorists. If Israel didn’t release large numbers of convicted terrorists with innocent blood on their hands, Abbas would go to the UN. Israel released most of the prisoners. Abbas went to the UN anyway. Kerry went to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and blamed Israel for the lack of peace.

Since then John Kerry has nursed a special hatred for the Jewish State.

When Muslim terrorists murdered Jews, John Kerry blamed Israel. When ISIS kills other Muslims, John Kerry also blamed Israel. And when John Kerry’s creme brulee donut is stale, he also blames the Jews.

      And you can understand why.

John Forbes Kerry isn’t just a traitor. He’s a failed traitor. His treason has never amounted to anything except publicity stunts. The terrorists and tyrants used him, abused him and threw him away. For five decades, Kerry has been trying to defect, but no one, not the Viet Cong, the Sandinistas, Assad, FARC, Iran or the PLO would take him and keep him.

    2. Israel was his last big bid to achieve something. And it failed. And like Carter, he blames the Jews.

Kerry and the rest of Obama Inc. have tried to cloak their campaign against Israel by claiming that they are only attacking the Jewish State because they are just so very devoted to peace.

The Hero of the Purple Band-Aid has denounced Jews living in Israel as the “obstacle to peace”. But the peace that Kerry and his boss are devoted is not the peace of coexistence, but of the triumph of evil. Instead of trying to mediate, Kerry, as always, took the side of the terrorists. He failed because it is the terrorists who refuse to make peace. It does not take a Solomon to understand this simple truth.

But it takes a radical leftist to persistently refuse to see it.

The greatest obstacle to peace is not Israel. It’s John Kerry. It’s all the other leftists like him who believe that peace comes when the terrorists win, not when they are defeated. There could have been peace long ago if Israel had been allowed to win. Instead the promised two-state solution peace has never materialized. And instead of admitting that they were wrong, the peacemakers blame Israel.

It’s either that or admit that the false promises of peace were only an excuse for destroying Israel.

The obstacle to peace does not come from Israel. It comes from its enemies. It comes from the PLO and Hamas, from Obama and from Kerry. Kerry and his ilk believe that peace is what happens when the bad guys win. But that’s their big lie. Peace is what happens when the terrorists and their allies lose.

  3. Simple fact?

The arabs didn't accept israel right to be a jewish state before 1967, before there were any issues with, as the UN RESOLUTIONS put it "DISPUTED" territories.

Maybe if Jordan didn't attack and LOSE? There would be no Israelis in the disputed lands. But wait, why was Jordan occupying the west bank? Ah... illegally so it seems...

Israel controls portions of the DISPUTED lands of the west bank.

The arabs who call themselves palestinians control portions of it as well.

Maybe it's time for the Palestinians accept an offer for a state?

After all they have turned down several offers before or maybe it's time for the arabs who call themselves "palestinians" to have a nice brutal civil war like what has happened in syria?

Hamas is a terrorist moslem affiliated group, and even if Quirk refuses to call them the ISIS of Gaza, i do. However is correct, Hamas is much better dressed....

In the end it's not settlements. It's the Jewish state's existence. Something that Deuce admitted too once before. It's not borders. Withdrawing from gaza and southern lebanon got no peace, but rather got more war.

SO I advocate war for war...

No more holding back, If the palestinians want to wage war? terror tunnels? IEDs? sniper attacks, car rammings? Then maybe it's time to start arresting and deporting those convicted of terror to syria. Public annexation of vacant lands for every attack. Trust me there is plenty of room for Israel to ratchet up the pressure. People claim gaza sucks now? Compare that to aleppo.

No this is war, let's be honest about it.

No more leaflets, no more knocker bombs, no more cell phone calls, ya'll ridiculed those anyway.

    Palestinians attack? Level the area.

Take a page from the Syrians, hezbollah, iran and russia..

:) Now what is it? 21 days til regime change

  4. PLAYING DANGEROUS GAMES

White House officials predicted Thursday that new sanctions being levied against Russia in retaliation for that country’s apparent hacking during the 2016 election would not be reversed by President-elect Donald Trump, despite Trump’s call for warmer relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

After he takes the oath of office in late January, Trump could unilaterally act to roll back the sanctions, which include expelling 35 Russian operatives and closing down two Russian facilities in the United States. But White House officials argued that if he did so, Trump would risk looking like he had caved to Russian interests.

“If a future president decided he wanted to allow in a large tranche of Russian intelligence agents, presumably a future president could do that,” a senior Obama administration official said on a Thursday press call. “We don’t think it would make much sense to reopen Russian intelligence compounds. ... We don’t think it makes much sense to invite back in Russian intelligence agents.”

Trump’s transition team, as of the time of this publication, had not released a statement on the new sanctions issued by President Barack Obama. But the move likely didn’t catch Trump off guard. The White House had been warning for weeks that it intended to take retaliatory action against Russia, after senior officials said U.S. intelligence agencies had concluded that Russia’s hacking was designed to benefit Trump. On MSNBC Thursday afternoon, the president’s top counter-terrorism adviser, Lisa Monaco, said the administration had been in touch with the transition team on the matter.

  6. President-elect Donald Trump has responded to the Obama administration’s decision to implement new sanctions on Russia and expel 35 Russian officials from the US over alleged interference in the presidential election.

The president-elect released a statement Thursday evening, saying that the country needs to “move on to bigger and better things.”

“Nevertheless, in the interest of our country and its great people, I will meet with leaders of the intelligence community next week in order to be updated about the facts of this situation,” Trump continued.

The statement reiterated Trump’s comments from Wednesday night, when he spoke to journalists about reports of the impending sanctions outside his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

“I think we ought to get on with our lives. I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly,” he said. “The whole age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what is going on. We have speed, we have a lot of other things, but I’m not sure we have the kind, the security we need.”

On Thursday afternoon, President Barack Obama issued new sanctions against six Russians ‒ most of whom are high up in the Russian intelligence services ‒ and five entities that the US government has accused of hacking American institutions ahead of the election.

Russia has repeatedly denied any accusations that it interfered with the elections in any way.

Trump could reverse Obama’s executive order once he is sworn into office on January 20, but senior White House officials argued that Trump would risk looking like he had caved to Russian interests if he were to do so.

“If a future president decided he wanted to allow in a large tranche of Russian intelligence agents, presumably a future president could do that,” a senior administration official told reporters on a conference call on Thursday as quoted by The Huffington Post. “We don’t think it would make much sense to reopen Russian intelligence compounds” or to “invite back in Russian intelligence agents.”

Along with implementing the new sanctions, Obama also expelled 35 Russian officials and closed Russian-owned compounds in New York and Maryland.

  9. This Joint Analysis Report (JAR) is the result of analytic efforts between the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This document
provides technical details regarding the tools and infrastructure used by the Russian civilian and
military intelligence Services (RIS) to compromise and exploit networks and endpoints
associated with the U.S. election, as well as a range of U.S. Government, political, and private
    sector entities.

    ...

Previous JARs have not attributed malicious cyber activity to specific countries or threat actors.
However, public attribution of these activities to RIS is supported by technical indicators from
the U.S. Intelligence Community, DHS, FBI, the private sector, and other entities.

    ...

This activity by RIS is part of an ongoing campaign of cyber-enabled operations directed at the
U.S. government and its citizens. These cyber operations have included spearphishing campaigns
targeting government organizations, critical infrastructure entities, think tanks, universities,
political organizations, and corporations leading to the theft of information.

  13. The documents released Thursday outline the hacking tools and techniques used by the Russian government. Much of this information was already circulating within the private sector, and the hacking techniques were already well known by security professionals, said Dan Guido, chief executive of Trail of Bits Inc., a security consultancy.

    ...

Corporate security officers, already under siege from years of attacks and the growing importance of computer networks to business operations, are likely to feel more vulnerable at the thought of an escalation in cyber conflict, said Edward Amoroso, former chief security officer of AT&T Inc. and now CEO of TAG Cyber LLC.

    ...

Both Mr. Amoroso and Mr. Guido said that it was unclear what a Trump administration would do to change the cyber landscape. “Cyber is one of those areas where he’s said absolutely nothing,” Mr. Amoroso said.

  14. George Soros, for the first time ever, writes a public letter to the masses, stating that his open society is in jeopardy due to his girl Hillary's loss to Trump. His letter, as if anyone cares, makes the assumption that his plan for a global open society is/was a given, much like Hillary'a election was a given. He also makes the assumption that an open society is the same as democracy.

Anyway, I believe he is so pissed off that he is leaning on and pressuring the only person left on his payroll who can push back against all of those who have had enough of his bullshit and influence: Barack Obama.

  15. The same is likely to happen in the European election season in 2017 in the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. In France, the two leading contenders are close to Putin and eager to appease him.

    ...

I hope that Europe’s leaders and citizens alike will realize that this endangers their way of life and the values on which the EU was founded. The trouble is that the method Putin has used to destabilize democracy cannot be used to restore respect for facts and a balanced view of reality.

With economic growth lagging and the refugee crisis out of control, the EU is on the verge of breakdown and is set to undergo an experience similar to that of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Those who believe that the EU needs to be saved in order to be reinvented must do whatever they can to bring about a better outcome.

At the end of the op-ed, which is a bit all over the place, we're not sure which is more farfetched: The idea that the press will act as a responsible and effective guardian against the excesses of the executive branch or the idea that Hillary Clinton lost Ohio by nearly 10 points because of some fake news stories making the rounds on Facebook.

  18. The Syrian ceasefire agreement is a major breakthrough and may be a critical turning point in the war. It's also a signal moment in international affairs — a reminder of the utility of raw power and the limits of diplomacy and American influence.

    ...

The first big test of the ceasefire will probably come in Idlib province. After the civilians and fighters in east Aleppo were besieged and bombed into submission, many agreed to be relocated to neighbouring Idlib.

    ...

The future of the territory held by IS should be one of the simplest questions to answer, since IS is on everyone's hit list. But it is perhaps the best example of the vexed interplay of interest and forces at work in the war.
