COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

New Poll Shows Voters Dislike Trump More Than Ever

While voters continue to express disapproval with the leading candidates from both parties, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll out Wednesday revealed Republican nominee Donald Trump’s unfavorable rating surged to 70 percent, compared with a less damaging 55 percent unfavorable rating for Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Among registered voters, Trump’s unfavorable ratings far exceed Clinton’s—69 percent of 56 percent—representing a drastic change from last month, when the same poll found both candidates at 57 percent unfavorable. Trump lost ground among liberals, conservatives, Republican women, Democratic men, independents and white Americans without a college degree, the Post reports. Only 29 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of the Republican candidate.
Even among Republican voters, Trump is backsliding; 34 percent say they have an unfavorable view of their candidate, a reversal from last month when only 28 percent said they consider Trump unfavorable. The reversal comes in the aftermath of Trump’s racist attacks against a sitting U.S. federal judge of Mexican heritage, which Speaker Paul Ryan and other Republican leaders have publicly condemned in recent weeks. Eighty-nine percent of Hispanics hold an unfavorable view of Trump.

Clinton also reached new unfavorable heights among voters, with 55 percent saying they have an unfavorable view of the former Secretary of State, and 43 percent saying they have a favorable opinion of the candidate. Still, Clinton’s ratings have remained largely unchanged from last month despite receiving enough votes to clinch the nomination. Twenty-five percent of Democratic voters say they have an unfavorable opinion of Clinton. Her biggest obstacle to party unity continues to be young voters who’ve tended to support Democratic rival Bernie Sanders throughout the primaries—31 percent of voters under 50 have an unfavorable view of Clinton.

These numbers, collected primarily before Sunday’s terror attack at Pulse nightclub in Orlando (which will likely impact both candidate’s ratings) underscore many voter’s frustration with both candidates. Trump’s vitriol and Clinton’s pragmatism continue to fragment even their individual parties, as voters prepare to cast their ballots in a “lesser-of-two-evils” style come November.

Huma is in deep with the Moslem Brotherhood.

After 9/11, Saudis Had Huma Abedin-Connected Group Removed from Terror List

Hillary Clinton's top aid Huma Abedin has deep and, so far, unexplained connections to a Saudi Arabian man who ran a Saudi organization that U.S. intelligence connected to terror funding during both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush’s administrations, but escaped scrutiny after pressure from the Saudi Arabian government.

Details about the group called the Muslim World League were originally published in 2001 and 2004, but their significance was not fully clear until recently, with Huma Abedin acting as co-chairwoman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign....

Interesting post on that .22 conversion, Deuce. It reminded me of another point.

I see the usual suspects are back at it today on the last stream. Well, kinda.

We see on display a demonstration of the usual tactics used by our resident Israeli-firster and his two useful idiots, the passive aggressive Maui Haole and the village idiot from Moscow. Diversion, lies, calumny, misinformation, rationalization, and justification for that which can’t be justified, pulled from the toolbox of these three MENSA candidates.

The two issues at hand were simple:

    1. The morality of shooting stone throwing Palestinian protesters with live ammunition, and

    2. If it is judged as justified, should the same punishment be dealt to Israelis who are engaged in the same type of protests.

The reactions of the three amigos were predictable and as expected.

Our resident passive aggressive sister from Maui refuses to be drawn into an uncomfortable discussion where he might actually be forced to take a stand on a moral issue. Though he was directly asked to respond to the two questions above, he refused. Instead he chose to violate the Godwin rule with a link tied to a comment on anti-Semitism and pictures of Adolph Hitler. Presumably, the calumny was directed at me but who the fuck knows when it comes to Doug. He likes to throw his shit out there without names so as to avoid any direct confrontation.

He then puts up a video of an Adam Corolla doing shtick to change the subject and retreats to the corner with his finger up his ass.

    {...}

    1. {...}

Then we have our ‘scholar’ from Moscow. Hell, he didn’t even understand what the term passive aggressive meant but he was sure ready to jump in on Doug’s Hitler meme. However, when asked to answer the questions above he mumbles shit about ‘well I haven’t seen the video but on the 2 questions my view is that ‘it depends’. The vacuity is amazing. He had no problem commenting on this issue but he hadn’t seen the video though it’s been a part of this discussion for a week and has been put up about a dozen times. It shows the level of intellectual curiosity of our Idaho MENSA candidate.

When confronted with the video and the question a couple times more, he punted, refused to answer either question, mumbled something about Muslim outrages in Bangladesh, and then retreated to the corner with Doug and proceeded to insert the thumb from his good hand up his ass. Circle jerk to follow. He was only finally lured out of his corner by WiO’s lecture on rock throwing and rubbing his chin in thoughtful consideration muttered, ‘Hmm. Interesting.’ Then he retreated to his corner and inadvertently inserted the thumb from his bad hand up his ass and commented, ‘Owww’. The most intelligent thing he has offered up here in quite a while.

      {...}

      Delete
    2. {...}

      Then we have WiO.

He gives us an extended chronology of rock throwing in history and as practiced by Palestinian protesters. Though he doesn’t provide any links, his source did admit that “Stone throwing is not considered a deadly force in most countries: in the West firearms are generally not used in crowd or riot dispersals and proportionality of force is the norm, except where immediate danger to life exists”. But then, unlike me, WiO (and one can only assume his minions though who the hell knows) isn’t really impressed with Western norms.

      He asserts…

I have NO problem with shooting violent palestnians who repeatedly attack Jews with slingshots with live ammo.

A rare moment of honesty from these three bozos.

Of course, the effect of that honesty was diminished by the rest of his post.

Once again, he complains about the video, a video HE initially put up.

Then as justification for the shooting he says the two dead (there were actually three shot) were throwing rocks. While the video doesn’t show that, I am not denying it. What I do say is ‘so what’. The teens at the moment they were shot presented no danger to anyone. Of course, that view is based on Western norms. One wonders what would have been the reaction here if the police had opened up with live ammunition on the Trump protesters in California.

Then he first admits the protesters were shot but then he says there is no evidence that they were shot with ‘live ammo’. This is the same distinction the IDF uses at times when describing the difference between the .22s they use for crowd control and the more powerful standard issue .223/5.56. I guess one has to assume the two victims had simultaneous heart attacks from the pop of the gun and died from chest wounds when they fell on their rocks.

But if you have any doubt the IDF is shooting protesters you can simply go to You Tube. There are other examples there.

But why belabor this? WiO has already admitted he is down with the IDF shooting these protesters.

What he doesn’t seem to want to talk about though is question number two. If shooting these Palestinian protesters is justified in his mind, does he also feel that the IDF should also be shooting Settler and Ultra-orthodox protesters engaged in the same activities? He adamantly ignores the question.

And there is no denying that the Israelis are performing these acts. The ‘price-tag’ attacks on Palestinians in retaliation for the IDF not allowing the settlers to build more illegal settlements, the settler thugs, the ‘hilltop youth’, the attacks on Palestinian fields, mosques, and homes, the murders and arsons are all well documented. There are plenty of videos on You Tube. Many of the videos show IDF soldiers standing around doing nothing during the protests or even protecting the masked Israeli rock-throwers.

And in these cases, our theee bros are like the three monkeys, ‘Hear no evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil.’

Well, that last might be a stretch. After seeing two kids walking around, apparently no danger to any anyone in the area, get shot down, I say, ‘No. That’s not right.’

For that view, I am equated to Hitler by the MENSA sisters.

I question why are the Palestinians being shot for throwing rocks but masked Israeli gangs are not shot for committing the same crimes and in fact are in some cases abetted by the IDF.

For that, I am accused of being an anti-Semite.

I think everyone knows what I think of these assholes. I’ll leave it up to the rest of the blog to reach their own conclusions.

NEAR FALLUJAH — Twenty-three days after the Iraqi security forces started a major operation aiming to retake besieged Fallujah, the forces are still fighting to control the first neighborhood of the Anbar city.

Much of the murkiness surrounding the battle to expel ISIS from Fallujah, which lies 64 kilometers to the west of Baghdad and has long been a cynosure of the Sunni insurgency, has to do with who, exactly, is doing the fighting. And that’s a question that touches on Iraq’s ever-parlous sectarianism....

  11. Disgrace: Green Beret Who Defended Boy Against Rape in Afghanistan Loses Appeal

In case you missed it earlier this week, the New York Times published an extensive piece detailing how U.S. soldiers serving in Afghanistan have been told to ignore rampant sexual abuse of young children, mostly boys, by Afghan allies because "it's their culture." U.S. soldiers were not only told they would be punished for intervening or stopping a sexual assault, they have been punished for doing so.

Green Beret Charles Martland was discharged from the Army after roughing up an Afghan military commander who admitted, and laughed about, being a child rapist.

  12. Afghan forces are struggling against the stubborn Taliban, who have made gains this year, particularly in the south. Islamic State fighters also have tried to gain a foothold in the country.

While there have been no changes yet to the decision on reducing troop levels, Obama has shown a willingness in the past to adjust troop cuts when conditions call for it. As the fighting season rages on, now is an assessment period, the NATO diplomat said, adding that keeping the four regions open will provide greater flexibility in future decisions.

So far, the diplomat said, the U.S. has not asked other allies to increase their troop commitments to make up for any U.S. reduction.

Whenever there is an issue of conflict, political, military, whatever it is always Israel first not the US.

You have no problem criticizing the US over anything; yet, in all the time I have been at this blog, I've never heard you criticize Israel once over anything, a policy, a law, and action, zip.

You get pissed and wish harm on me and my family because I take what I think is a moral position when I see an Israeli sniper, in a video you yourself put up, shoot and kill two Palestinians walking around and, at least at the time they were shot, not threatening anyone. You argue that the killing is justified. Even share the video with your son. To me that's disgusting. To me the shootings were simply murder.

Even your bros seem to have abandoned you on this one. Oh they sit on the sidelines sniping as we would expect but neither one of them seems to be willing to rush in and argue that the IDF killing those kids was justified. If they do support it they are taking a hell of a long time to jump in the water and back you up.

And what about you. You still haven't answered that second question. Where do you stand on that one? We know you the killing doesn't bother you. The least you could be is consistent.

Is it as I suspect. Killing rock throwers is fine for the Palestinians but your umbrage doesn't quite reach to Israelis doing exactly the same thing getting shot.

Of course, I argue with you constantly. You are constantly flooding this blog with one-sided arguments filled with distortions. Wishing ill to me and my family. Arguing for cold-blooded murder. Putting Israeli interests above those of the US.

Yusufiy told reporters that Mateen was mentally unstable and abusive. She said she left him shortly after their marriage, but did not formally divorce him until June 21, 2011.

Legal analysts say if charges are brought against Salman, her defense team could try to claim she was controlled and abused by Mateen or invoke spousal privilege – even though her husband is dead. But those arguments would be tough to make if her level of involvement proves substantial, and an indictment on charges that could potentially carry the death penalty my make her more willing to keep cooperating, legal experts said.

Avacado Crime Wave Rocks New Zealand - Law Agencies Struggle To Maintain Order

Surging local and international demand for avocados is fuelling a crime wave in New Zealand.

Since January there have been close to 40 large-scale thefts from avocado orchards in the north island of New Zealand, with as many as 350 fruit stolen at a time, The Guardian reports. It is suspected that many more thefts have gone unreported.

The thefts have typically occurred in the middle of the night. The avocados are either “raked” from the tree and collected in blankets or sheets on the ground, or hand-picked, then driven away, often appearing at pop-up roadside grocery stores or small-scale sushi, fruit and sandwich shops in Auckland.

New Zealand police have warned that the stolen avocados can also carry risks, given that “they are commonly unripe, some have been sprayed recently and they may still carry toxins on the skin.”
Avocados are currently selling for between NZ$4-6 each across the country as a result of the high demand.

NATO To Strengthen Black Sea Despite Russia Warning

NATO is looking to further reinforce the Black Sea region despite Russia’s warning it is prepared to neutralize any perceived threats to its security there.

The alliance is already set to strengthen its eastern flank with four new multinational battalions in Poland and the Baltics, countries that have expressed concern at the increased activity of Russian forces near their borders. In 2014, NATO announced it would open two communication centres in Bulgaria and Romania, also Black Sea allies, staffed with 40 personnel each.

U.S. and Western forces have come close to Russian forces in the Black Sea over the last year, although their presence off the Bulgarian and Romanian ports has remained limited and rotational. Russia has proved sensitive about the region, which was once dominated by Soviet allies.

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the alliance is looking to strengthen its Black Sea assets, although he did not reveal any details.

“We are looking into how we can increase our presence in the Black Sea region,” Stoltenberg said at a press conference before a meeting of defense ministers in Brussels Tuesday. “We have already increased our presence with more air-policing, with assurance measures, with more naval presence and more exercises.

“But we are also looking into what more we can do. And we are discussing and addressing an offer from Romania that they can provide the framework, the headquarters for a brigade which can then organize and facilitate NATO activities in the region, including exercises and also assurance measures.”

Russia’s ministry of foreign affairs reacted negatively to Stoltenberg’s words, with its director on European affairs, Andrey Kelin, telling news agency Interfax that Russia was concerned NATO’s presence in the Black Sea would be “destabilizing...”

  17. Muslim Privilege Killed 49 People in Orlando

    Islamophobia kills… non-Muslims.

    June 16, 2016

    Daniel Greenfield

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam.

The deadliest mass shooting in American history happened because of Islamophobia.

Islamophobia killed 49 people in Orlando. It didn’t kill 49 Muslims. Instead it allowed Omar Mateen, a Muslim terrorist, to kill 49 people in the name of his Islamic ideology and the Islamic State.

Omar, like so many other Muslim killers, could have been stopped. He talked about killing people when he worked at G4S Security, a Federal contractor that provided services to the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department. But, according to one of the co-workers he stalked, a former police officer, his employers refused to do anything about it because he was a Muslim.

The FBI conducted an investigation of Omar Mateen. They put him on a watch list and sent informants. They interviewed him and concluded that his claims of Al Qaeda ties and terrorist threats were reactions to “being marginalized because of his Muslim faith.” Omar told the agents that he said those things because “his co-workers were discriminating against him and teasing him because he was Muslim.”

    And they believed him.

Poor Omar wasn’t a potential terrorist. He was just a victim of Islamophobia.

Omar got away with homophobic comments that would have gotten Americans fired because he was Muslim. He weathered an “extensive” FBI investigation because he was Muslim.

Anyone who says that there is no such thing as Muslim Privilege ought to look at Omar Mateen.

There is a direct line between Omar’s Muslim privilege and the Pulse massacre. Omar Mateen’s Muslim privilege protected him from consequences. While the media studiously paints the image of a beleaguered population of American Muslims suffering the stigma of constant suspicion, Omar’s Muslim background actually served as a shield and excused behavior that would have been unacceptable for anyone else. Omar Mateen’s Muslim privilege shielded him until he was actually murdering non-Muslims.

And Omar’s case is not unique. The Fort Hood killer, Nidal Hasan, handed out business cards announcing that he was a Jihadist. He delivered a presentation justifying suicide bombings, but no action was taken. Like Omar, the FBI was aware of Hasan. It knew that he was talking to Al Qaeda bigwig Anwar Al-Awlaki, yet nothing was done. Instead of worrying about his future victims, the FBI was concerned that investigating him and interviewing him would “harm Hasan’s career”.

One of his classmates later said that the military authorities, “Don't want to say anything because it would be considered questioning somebody's religious belief, or they're afraid of an equal opportunity lawsuit.”

Would the FBI have been as sensitive if Nidal Hasan had been named Frank Wright? No more than Omar Mateen would have kept his security job if his name had been Joe Johnson.

    It’s an increasingly familiar story.

The neighbors of San Bernardino killers Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik noticed that something strange was going on, but they were afraid of profiling Muslims. If they had done the right thing, the 14 victims of the two Muslim killers would still be alive. If the FBI had done the right thing with Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood victims would still be alive and whole. If the FBI had done the right thing with Omar Mateen, his 49 victims would still be alive and those he wounded would still be whole.

We have some basic choices to make. We can empathize with Muslims or with their victims.

    We cannot however do both....

I'm waiting with hopeful anticipation the results of the FBI Primary. A recommendation to prosecute and a failure to do so surely must harm The Criminal a lot, at least I'd think it would, at least with the independents.

New Mexico: Muslim “refugee” with gas pipeline plans arrested in border county

What could possibly go wrong? “‘Islamic Refugee’ With Gas Pipeline Plans Arrested in New Mexico Border County,” Judicial Watch, June 15, 2016 (thanks to Pamela Geller): Police in a U.S. town bordering Mexico have apprehended an undocumented, Middle Eastern woman in possession of the region’s gas pipeline plans, law enforcement sources tell Judicial Watch. New York: Muslim pleads guilty to selling nuclear technology to Iran

The irony here is that Obama has just given the Iranians so much money that they can pursue many deals of this kind. Then the U.S. government prosecutes people like Erdal Kuyumcu. If the U.S. government doesn’t want Iran to obtain material it can use to build nuclear weapons, why did it give the Iranians […]

  23. WASHINGTON — To understand Bernie Sanders’ unwillingness to concede the Democratic presidential nomination race to Hillary Clinton, take a look at some of the Twitter hashtags used by his supporters:

    #StillSanders

    #BernieOrBust

    #SeeYouInPhilly

Clinton has effectively locked up the nomination, but Sanders continues to say he’ll take his fight to transform the Democratic Party — and the country — all the way to the party's national convention in Philadelphia in July. His supporters, it seems, will accept nothing less.

“We will never stand down,” tweeted “Women for Bernie” on Sunday. “It’s not over.”
