COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Omar Mateen -- Terrorist Was 29-Year-Old Islamic Radical (PHOTO)

The killer in the Orlando nightclub slaughter is 29-year-old Omar Mateen.  TMZ has done a records search and found he held a Florida security officer license and a state firearms license.

He's an American citizen and he has family that are not -- his parents are Afghan.  Authorities say he was a terrorist and was targeting gays.  They say in addition to terrorism this is a hate crime.

Authorities also believe he is part of the radical Islam movement, although they do not know if it was an organized attack or if he was a lone wolf.   Authorities also believe Mateen specifically targeted a gay club.

Mateen's father told NBC News, "This has nothing to do with religion."  He says his son became angry after seeing 2 men kissing a few months ago in Miami, and he speculates that could have triggered his decision to kill.

Law enforcement says Mateen was well prepared, with an assault weapon, a handgun and 2 suspicious devices.

The NYPD tells TMZ, Mateen has no association with the department, and that the shirts he was photographed in were unofficial garments that could be purchased at any store.

50 people were murdered and another 53 injured inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando.  It's the biggest slaughter at the hands of a gunman in American history.
Take a look at the pic below ... it's a police helmet with a bullet hole.  The helmet saved the officer's life, although he suffered facial injuries.
0612-orlando-shooting-officer-helmet-TWITTER-01Police descended on Mateen's home to search shortly after the massacre.

  11. The FBI has been conducting a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information for months.

An explosive new report reveals just what it is that the FBI is looking to: emails in which then-Secretary of State Clinton approved CIA drone assassinations in Pakistan with her cellphone.

From 2011 on, the State Department had a secret arrangement with the CIA, giving it a degree of say over whether or not a drone killing would take place.

The U.S. drone program has killed hundreds of civilians in Pakistan and other countries.

Under Sec. Clinton, State Department officials approved almost every single proposed CIA drone assassination. They only objected to one or two attacks.

The emails that are at the heart of the FBI’s criminal investigation are 2011 and 2012 messages between U.S. diplomats in Pakistan and their State Department superiors in D.C., in which the officials approved drone strikes.

Clinton’s aides forwarded some of these emails to her personal email account, on a private server in her home in suburban New York.

These are the revelations of a report by The Wall Street Journal, based on information provided by anonymous congressional and law-enforcement officials who were briefed on the FBI’s probe.

The State Department revealed in January that 22 of the emails that were on Clinton’s private server at her home contained top-secret information. These messages were not publicly released, and an investigation was eventually launched.

The White House acknowledged in a press briefing on Thursday that the FBI probe into Clinton’s handling of classified information is a “criminal investigation.” President Obama endorsed Clinton for president on the same day.

Hundreds of civilians in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan and more have been killed by U.S. drones.

Pakistan is the site of more U.S. drone strikes than any other country. The Obama administration has carried out more than 370 drone attacks in Pakistan, killing as many as 1,000 civilians, including up to 200 children, according to data collected by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.

Orlando gay nightclub shooter was a registered Democrat

    By Thomas Lifson

The shooter who killed 20 and wounded 42 at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Omar Mir Siddique Mateen, was a registered Democrat who has voted in at least 3 recent general elections, according to voters.findthedata.com. He registered to vote on July, 19,2006, but skipped the election that November. But he voted by absentee ballot in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, presumably for his party’s candidate, Barack Obama. He even voted in the off year 2014 general election, this time showing up at the polls to vote, perhaps a sign of increasing political enthusiasm.

Why bother noting this? Becuase if he had been a Christian Republican, you can bet everything you own that the media would be trumpeting it from the rooftops. And if he had owned any Trump paraphenalia, it would be the biggest story in the world.

However maybe tighter door security in retrospect would have helped. You can not enter a stadium, movie theater, etc. without practically being strip-searched!

  21. Giuliani: Hillary Clinton 'could be considered a founding member of ISIS'

    By David Wright, CNN

    Updated 1341 GMT (2141 HKT) March 24, 2016

(CNN) — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that Hillary Clinton "could be considered a founding member of ISIS" because she was secretary of state during the Obama administration's withdrawal from Iraq.

Giuliani, a Republican, delivered the sharp criticism in an interview on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" during a segment on the Brussels attacks and the Obama administration's response to them. He was quick to link Clinton to what he saw as failures of the administration's response to ISIS.

"She had her chance to (rally people against ISIS) -- she helped create ISIS. Hillary Clinton could be considered a founding member of ISIS," Giuliani said.

Pressed by host Bill O'Reilly, Giuliani explained his reasoning.

"By being part of an administration withdrew from Iraq. By being part of an administration that let (Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki) run Iraq into the ground, so you forced the Shiites to make a choice. By not intervening in Syria at the proper time. By being part of an administration that drew twelve lines in the sand and made a joke out of it," Guiliani said.

O'Reilly then pointed out that as secretary of state, Clinton was not personally responsible for the decisions, and that the most she could have done to compel Obama to change his policy was resign.

"Which is what a patriot does," Giuliani said.

Allow me to jog your memory:

Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba's report detailing his investigation of the 800th Military Police Brigade is released.
Taguba's report stated that the following abuses happened in this incident:
    - Punching, slapping, and kicking detainees; jumping on their naked feet.
    - Videotaping and photographing naked male and female detainees.
    - Forcibly arranging detainees in various sexually explicit positions for photographing.
    - Forcing detainees to remove their clothing and keeping them naked for several days at a time.
    - Forcing naked male detainees to wear women's underwear.
    - Forcing groups of male detainees to masturbate themselves while being photographed and videotaped.
    - Arranging naked male detainees in a pile and then jumping on them.
    - Positioning a naked detainee on a box, with a sandbag on his head, and attaching wires to his fingers, toes, and penis to simulate electric torture.
    - Writing "I am a Rapest (sic)" on the leg of a detainee accused of rape, and then photographing him naked.
    - Placing a dog chain or strap around a naked detainee's neck and having a female soldier pose for a picture.
    - A male MP guard having sex with a female detainee.
    - Using military working dogs (without muzzles) to intimidate and frighten detainees, and in at least one case biting and severely injuring a detainee.
    - Taking photographs of dead Iraqi detainees.

  28. I'm a Gay Activist, and After Orlando, I Have Switched My Vote to Trump

This is the saddest day of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the horror of what happened last night in Orlando, where 50 joyful dancing queers were murdered by a religious extremist. I'm sad -- devastated, in my soul -- about that; but I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed.

Yes, there is a war between religious fundamentalism and the spirit of love and tolerance. But we progressives here in America still labor under the delusion that the religion we need to combat is Christianity. But that's a strawman opponent, and has been so for decades.

Since the 1990s, Christian extremists have essentially lost all their power, and are now toothless nonplayers in the "culture wars." Meanwhile, Muslim extremists, with guns, murder us, and on the left our only response is to bleat about "Islamophobia" and jump through hoops trying to explain away the self-evident religious motivation for the killings.
    ===
I also now realize, with brutal clarity, that in the progressive hierarchy of identity groups, Muslims are above gays. Every pundit and politician -- and that includes President Obama and Hillary Clinton and half the talking heads on TV -- who today have said "We don't know what the shooter's motivation could possibly be!" have revealed to me their true priorities: appeasing Muslims is more important than defending the lives of gay people. Every progressive who runs interference for Islamic murderers is complicit in those murders, and I can no longer be a part of that team.

I'm just sick of it. Sick of the hypocrisy. Sick of the pandering. Sick of the deception.

What I find remarkable about Orlando, aside from Bob's glee, is that the killer was able to, legally, buy the weaponry to kill so many so easily. Heck, he even had a conceal carry permit.

Gotta luv America - land of the free, the brave.

    In nations without guns?

They use knives, cars, IED'S, swords, firebombs, slingshots...

And before you say how many you can kill without guns?

    As Rwanda//

  33. What has private ownership and easy access to military assault weapons done for the US besides making it more efficient for the deranged, the criminal and religious fanatics to slaughter more people?

It has given the state and local police apparatus the excuse and the incentives to militarize the police with military vehicles, tactics and surveillance.

The parroting idiots, on cue, mouth the mantra about their Second Amendment right to bear arms, all the while that their arms pale against what is out there in their local police force. The police forces and surveillance statist love assault weapons. It gives them access to increased budgets, more overtime, cool military training at the taxpayers expense, pretend boot camps and fatter pensions, instead of issuing parking tickets and walking the beat.

Black is the new blue and what were once police patrol cars look more like armored up, military personnel carriers and if they don’t, no matter, they probably have some of those that the Pentagon had left over from the fleets stolen from them by ISIS.

Sure, you’re the real defender of freedom and liberty, in your adolescent dreams.

By the way an armored vehicle was able to break through a wall at the nightclub to help rescue the hostages.

When Officer Fife just won't suffice
A Bear Cat armored vehicle might do

      Gun Free Killings:

The 1983 Beirut barracks bombings were terrorist attacks that occurred on October 23, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War when two truck bombs struck separate buildings housing United States and French military forces—members of the Multinational Force in Lebanon (MNF)—killing 241 U.S. and 58 French servicemen, six civilians, and the two suicide bombers.
An obscure group calling itself 'Islamic Jihad' claimed responsibility for the bombings and that the bombings were aimed to get the MNF out of Lebanon.

No guns involved in a van explosion in Oklahoma City, either:

Carried out by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, the bombing destroyed one-third of the building, killed 168 people, and injured more than 680 others.

This would be a good start to keep guns out of the hands of jihadis who have no previous felonies.

This guy was a second generation Afghan/American. Stopping moslem immigration is an excellent idea too.

It is the second and third generation moslem immigrants that begin to get violent, many studies have shown. The first generation sometimes retains at least a modicum of gratitude.

    Stop moslem immigration now.

  37. Gilroy said he complained to his employer several times but it did nothing because he was Muslim.

A former Fort Pierce police officer who once worked with 29-year-old Omar Mateen, the assailant in an Orlando nightclub shooting that left at least 50 dead, said he was "unhinged and unstable."

Daniel Gilroy said he worked the 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift with G4S Security at the south gate at PGA Village for several months in 2014-15. Mateen took over from him for a 3 to 11 p.m. shift.

Gilroy, a former Fort Pierce police officer, said Mateen frequently made homophobic and racial comments. Gilroy said he complained to his employer several times but it did nothing because he was Muslim.

Gilroy quit after he said Mateen began stalking him via multiple text messages — 20 or 30 a day. He also sent Gilroy 13 to 15 phone messages a day, he said.

"I quit because everything he said was toxic," Gilroy said Sunday, "and the company wouldn't do anything.
This guy was unhinged and unstable. He talked of killing people."
