INTERVIEWER: So you think it would be necessary to first transfer and remove every Jew-

AREIKAT: Absolutely. No, I'm not saying to transfer every Jew. I'm saying to transfer Jews who, after an agreement with Israel, fall under the jurisdiction of a Palestinian state.

INTERVIEWER: Any Jew who is in the borders of Palestine will have to leave?

    AREIKAT: Absolutely.

Yet another piece of red meat without a source thrown out by allen. Who woulda guessed the farmer would seize on it?

I have not intention of trying to defend what every tom dick and harry proposes for a solution to the Israeli/Palestinian problem. Maybe Farmer Bob or Allen wish to defend WiO's ethnic cleansing rants? Areikat thinks the two sides need to get "divorced" and minimize contact between each other. So?

Do you intend to defend what any Jew has stated for their solution? How about starting with your buddy WiO's rants on ethnic cleansing being an acceptable solution? I'm sure we can come up with official Israeli folks as well. Care to defend the current Foreign Ministers statements? Do his statements constitute the official position of the Israeli government? Do Areikat's statements constitute the official bargaining position of the PLO? The answer, of course, is no, but that won't serve your propaganda aims very well, will it?

You now have links and quotes. They change nothing; Palestine will be an apartheid state. This is just another proof of why Israel must be a Jewish state.

Reports: Kerry to announce resumption of Israeli-Palestinian talks

The Palestinian leadership at the weekend again signaled how far we are from reaching a bilateral, final status peace agreement, the determined and ongoing efforts of US Secretary of State John Kerry notwithstanding.

In a previous report, Israel Today pointed out how Israelis see control over Jerusalem as the next, and most significant stumbling block on the road to peace.

Polls over the past decade have consistently shown that an overwhelming majority of Israelis are opposed to surrendering to the Palestinians the eastern half of their ancient capital, including the Old City and its Temple Mount.

But on Saturday, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas reiterated that he would be signing no peace deal with Israel that didn't include explicit Palestinian sovereignty over East Jerusalem.

When Kerry returns to the region next Sunday, "he will be told that occupied East Jerusalem [sic] is the capital of the state of Palestine, and without this there will be no peace between us and Israel," Bethlehem's Ma'an news agency quoted Abbas as telling visit Arab officials from Jerusalem.

"Unless it is mentioned clearly and marked in big fonts that it is the capital of the state of Palestine, there will be no peace with [Israel] and I want them to hear this," he continued.

Abbas strongly suggested that his regime is simply going through the motions in the current round of US-brokered peace talks, and has no intention of reaching a compromise agreement with Israel.

When the current count of negotiations reaches its predetermined end-date in a few months, "we are free to do whatever we want," Abbas said. "The time frame is limited and not open, and our unanimous position isn't secret."

Health Care Plans Attracting More Older, Less Healthy People

WASHINGTON — People signing up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act’s federal and state marketplaces tend to be older and potentially less healthy, officials said Monday, a demographic mix that could cause premiums to rise in the future if the pattern persists.

But officials expressed optimism that more young people will sign up in the months ahead, calling it “solid, solid news” for the health care law. They said demand for insurance through the marketplaces was increasing sharply across all age groups and they said youth outreach will become more aggressive in the months ahead.

“We’re pleased to see such a strong response and heavy demand,” said Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of health and human services. “Among young adults, the momentum was particularly strong.”

      Your State is Expanding Medicaid
States have the option to expand Medicaid coverage to everyone under 138% of the poverty level. If a state expands Medicaid, most of the costs are covered by the federal government under the health reform law. Because your state decided to expand Medicaid, your income (which is 111% of the poverty level) makes you eligible for the program. Medicaid coverage varies from state to state, but out-of-pocket costs are generally very low. Tobacco use is never taken into account in Medicaid eligibility.

Beijing claims island “illegally occupied” by the Philippines

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Infowars.com
    January 13, 2014

Reports out of Chinese state media indicate that Beijing is set to invade an island in the South China Sea “illegally occupied” by US ally the Philippines, stoking concerns that the tension filled region could explode.

Image: People’s Liberation Army Marines (Wikimedia Commons).

The article originally appeared at qianzhan.com under the headline, ‘Sudden major move of Chinese troops this year to recover Zhongye Island by force’, and was translated by the China Daily Mail.

Relying on US support, the Philippines is so arrogant as to announce in the New Year that it will increase its navy and air force deployment at Zhongye Island, a Chinese island that it has illegally occupied for years.

It will be an intolerable insult to China

According to experts, the Chinese navy has drawn a detailed combat plan to seize the island and the battle will be restricted within the South China Sea.

The report goes on to state that the “battle” will not include a Chinese invasion of Filipino territories, although the Philippines will undoubtedly view Beijing’s attack on Zhongye Island as precisely that since it has been occupied by Filipino troops for over 40 years.

“Of course, claims that “battle will be restricted” are nothing but taunting and should China launch an offensive here, we suspect the already dry and brittle tinder box in the South (and East) China Sea could rapidly escalate,” reports Zero Hedge.

The report arrives hot on the heels of Japan’s announcement that it will “nationalize” around 280 islands in the disputed region, the latest shot across the bow in a tit-for-tat build up that experts have warned heralds the beginning of a new cold war.

China’s latest act of aggression arrives after months of military posturing and bellicose rhetoric.

In October, China sent a surveillance ship to Hawaiian waters for the very first time in an unprecedented move which was described as a provocative retaliation to the U.S. naval presence in the East China Sea.

A lengthy editorial which appeared in Chinese state media last month explained how the Chinese military’s current reformation process was part of a move by President Xi Jinping to prepare the People’s Liberation Army for war in response to US aggression in the Asia Pacific, developments which have prompted “major changes” in China’s national security situation.

Strident rhetoric about Beijing’s ability to attack US military bases in the Western Pacific, as well as the release of a map showing the locations of major U.S. cities and how they would be impacted by a nuclear strike launched from the PLA’s strategic submarine force also turned heads.

Following discussion in state media about plans to to turn the moon into a Star Wars-style “death star” from which the PLA could launch missiles against any target on Earth, a display to promote China’s Jade Rabbit Moon rover also included a background photograph of a mushroom cloud over Europe.

    1. Bob,

As I recall, it was about 10-12 years ago when I first started bogging that I reported a PLA report that had come to my attention, wherein the PLA planned on a war with the United States within 25 years. China is determined to be the hegemon of the western Pacific and western Asia. Most analysts thought the saber rattling to be for internal consumption only - giving the masses some red meat.

When the German army reoccupied the Rhineland, it did so with a modest vanguard of a few infantry regiments. The rational was that if the British and French reacted vigorously, Germany would suffer no great loss. Whether the Chinese encroachment into Philippine territory is the same sort of gambit seems a real possibility. If the Chinese get away with the move, good for them. At the least, the Chinese will discover from a modest investment whether the US and its allies pose a real threat to Chinese ambitions.

Federal government paid more than double the retail price

    http://freebeacon.com/taxpayers-paid-nearly-175m-for-penis-pumps-between-2006-and-2011/

This factoid kind of catches your eye when you see the headline. However, the reason I found it more interesting was because of a story I heard yesterday regarding some changes Medicare is proposing to make in their drug program. There are about 6 classes of drugs that are 'protected' in Medicare Part D, these include cancer, HIV-AIDS, and seizure fighting drugs. The other are antidepressants, antipsychotics and drugs that suppress the immune system to prevent the rejection of a transplanted organ . The 'protected' status guarantees that insurance companies have to supply the full range of drugs used for these applications. It doesn't set limits by price so the insurance company can still charge more for more expensive drugs.

Anyway Medicare has now proposed dropping the 'protected' status on the last three classes of drugs thus allowing insurance carriers to provide those they want. This has raised fears among the medical community because in some cases only specific drugs work with particular patients and in others it takes a cocktail of drugs to get results. I have seen this in a transplant patient I know.

At any rate, the two stories kind raise the question, who is it that is making these policy decisions for Medicare and what is the basis for them.

"Deadly poisonous! A. phalloides contains both phallotoxins and amanitins. It is the amanitins that are responsible for the poisonings in humans. Amanitins are cyclic octapeptides that stop protein synthesis in the cells they encounter. All human organs are affected, but damage to the liver is most severe and liver failure is primarily responsible for the death of A. phalloides victims. Symptoms usually appear 8-12 hours after ingestion. Death occurs in 7-10 days in 10-15% of patients."

Obama: 'Give peace a chance' with Iran
    Thomas Lifson

Who said the 1960's are over? The president of the United States is conducting high stakes nuclear diplomacy with an apocalyptic cult bent on Armageddon on the basis of mush-headed, pot-influenced slogans coined by John Lennon. Caleb Howe of The Right Scoop caught the reference yesterday:

The President took questions today in the Oval Office in a joint presser with President Mariano Rajoy of Spain. The President spoke about security, and discussed the Iran nukes deal:

"My preference is for peace and diplomacy, and this is one of the reasons why I've sent a message to Congress that now is not the time for us to impose new sanctions; now is the time for us to allow the diplomats and technical experts to do their work. We will be able to monitor and verify whether or not the interim agreement is being followed through on, and if it is not, we'll be in a strong position to respond. But what we want to do is give diplomacy a chance and give peace a chance."

Underlying this unfortunate phraseology is the bedrock conviction that the problems with Iran are due to United States intransigence. If only we weren't so imperialistic, so rich, so infidel, there wouldn't be a problem.

The Beatles song about "give peace a chance" was a product of the unilateral disarmament movement of the 1970s, a movement that was a product of a KGB initiative to undermine the West and make the world safe for communist totalitarianism. The left wing students, chanters, and demonstrators shared a conviction that the problems with world peace were all due to American intransigence, and that if we would only put down our nuclear arsenal, then the peoples of the world could all get along.

President Reagan proved convincingly that this was all a lie, and that the path to peace was through strength. Unfortunately, the lessons of the fall of the USSR were lost on Barack Obama. The lessons of Franck Marshall Davis were a bigger influence on him. And, apparently, John Lennon

The right always rewrites history their own way. Their favorite fantasies seem to always center on Ronald Reagan. Sure Reagan was tough on the Soviet Union. However, in 1985 when Gorbachev took over in the Soviet Union and claimed to be a reformer, Reagan was willing to take the risk and work with him, this despite a concerted effort to queer the deal by the CIA and its chief expert on the Soviet Union, Robert Gates. Gates and the CIA claimed that the Soviet Union was stronger than ever, that they were still the evil empire, that you couldn't work with them, and that Gorvachev's moves were merely a ploy to lull the US into a false sense of security.

Reagan took the chance and worked with Gorbachev.

      History tells us the result.
