COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

  10. .

After Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates suggested American troops could stay for years,...

    Loose lips.

Mr. Gates is a little too candid at times. Although it's refreshing, based on this and some of the comments he has made on Libya, it's likely that if he hadn't planned on retiring he would have been asked to leave.

  34. And The Answer Is

    :) heh
Quirk I would really rather shoot wolves than poison them. I like the sounds of that whump when that hollow point explodes through their guts. The downside is, as you say, a long lingering excruciating and deserved death is avoided, more courtesy than they often give the elk. Though given a well placed shot through the guts, they'll feel it for awhile. An eye for an eye, pain for a pain.

Though Churchill did say, if you are going to kill a man you might as well be polite about it, not mentioning wolves, I take it intentionally.

You can sell them stuffs back east. With your abilities I know you can. Some of those suckers back there would pay most anything for such a conversation piece.

    Try Manhattan for starters.

PETA has put out an action alert to save the baby seals. Over 400,000 at risk. Feel for the baby seals, not the wolves, I know you can do it.

Norah Jones is good, not great. We had some as good at the recent Lionel Hampton Fest.
