COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Sudanese DIE by the hundreds each year trying to GET into Israel

Mexicans DIE trying to GET into America...

Iraqis and Iranians fly to indonesia and they use boats to get to Christmas Island to leave their respective shitholes...

Ever notice no one tries to ESCAPE to Gaza? Iran? Iraq? Yemen? Sudan? Algeria??

  4. Here is a interesting post about China and Women...

Let's remember that the real problem is that Jews are building apartments in Jerusalem

"Most persons are aware of China’s one-child policy. But few fully understand the indelible mark this human rights travesty has left on the soul of the Chinese people.

Recently professor Jing-Bao Nie of New Zealand published a remarkably candid appraisal of this policy, which represents the most ambitious demographic experiment ever conducted in human history.

China’s Birth Control Program through Feminist Lenses catalogs in chilling detail how the Chinese population-control agenda coerced hundreds of millions of women to use birth control, compelled over one-quarter of the adult female population to obtain an abortion, and ensured the forced sterilization of 37% of all married women."

    it's
a wonderful life to be a woman!

  7. I wonder is being "gay" genetic or enviroment?

    Take the case of China..

Where MILLIONS of men will have no reasonable female outlet due to the state and cultural rules that are decreasing the availablity of brides

The same can be said of the arab world where the rich elder men have harems, and deprive the younger men of female companionship...

Will those millions of men become "gay"?

I have seen tv shows that focus on prison culture that straight men have sex with other men and consider themselves straight, the moment upon being released from jail they return to their "normal" lifestyle.

Not batting for that camp I do not have a clue, nor have I been in prison, nor have I ever suffered for lack of female girlfriend/spouse (well except for brief periods of teenage and young 20's)

What happens to the future of a culture that doesnt respect 51% of the population (women)

  8. Two Californias

In two supermarkets 50 miles apart, I was the only one in line who did not pay with a social-service plastic card (gone are the days when “food stamps” were embarrassing bulky coupons). But I did not see any relationship between the use of the card and poverty as we once knew it: The electrical appurtenances owned by the user and the car into which the groceries were loaded were indistinguishable from those of the upper middle class.

By that I mean that most consumers drove late-model Camrys, Accords, or Tauruses, had iPhones, Bluetooths, or BlackBerries, and bought everything in the store with public-assistance credit. This seemed a world apart from the trailers I had just ridden by the day before. I don’t editorialize here on the logic or morality of any of this, but I note only that there are vast numbers of people who apparently are not working, are on public food assistance, and enjoy the technological veneer of the middle class. California has a consumer market surely, but often no apparent source of income. Does the $40 million a day supplement to unemployment benefits from Washington explain some of this?

Do diversity concerns, as in lack of diversity, work both ways? Over a hundred-mile stretch, when I stopped in San Joaquin for a bottled water, or drove through Orange Cove, or got gas in Parlier, or went to a corner market in southwestern Selma, my home town, I was the only non-Hispanic — there were no Asians, no blacks, no other whites. We may speak of the richness of “diversity,” but those who cherish that ideal simply have no idea that there are now countless inland communities that have become near-apartheid societies, where Spanish is the first language, the schools are not at all diverse, and the federal and state governments are either the main employers or at least the chief sources of income — whether through emergency rooms, rural health clinics, public schools, or social-service offices. An observer from Mars might conclude that our elites and masses have given up on the ideal of integration and assimilation, perhaps in the wake of the arrival of 11 to 15 million illegal aliens.

  9. We hear about the tough small-business regulations that have driven residents out of the state, at the rate of 2,000 to 3,000 a week. But from my unscientific observations these past weeks, it seems rather easy to open a small business in California without any oversight at all, or at least what I might call a “counter business.” I counted eleven mobile hot-kitchen trucks that simply park by the side of the road, spread about some plastic chairs, pull down a tarp canopy, and, presto, become mini-restaurants. There are no “facilities” such as toilets or washrooms. But I do frequently see lard trails on the isolated roads I bike on, where trucks apparently have simply opened their draining tanks and sped on, leaving a slick of cooking fats and oils. Crows and ground squirrels love them; they can be seen from a distance mysteriously occupied in the middle of the road.

In fact, trash piles are commonplace out here — composed of everything from half-empty paint cans and children’s plastic toys to diapers and moldy food. I have never seen a rural sheriff cite a litterer, or witnessed state EPA workers cleaning up these unauthorized wastelands. So I would suggest to Bay Area scientists that the environment is taking a much harder beating down here in central California than it is in the Delta. Perhaps before we cut off more irrigation water to the west side of the valley, we might invest some green dollars into cleaning up the unsightly and sometimes dangerous garbage that now litters the outskirts of our rural communities.

In a perverse sort of way...

The last time we were down there, down Oaxaca way, we drove a rental car south down to the coast.

All that windrowed trash alongside the road?

Mostly plastic detritus; bags, diapers. Who knows what.

I observed an interesting method of dealing with it.

A tanker truck with spray nozzles soaks the roadside debris with what I thought to be diesel. They do a quarter mile or so stretch and then light'er off.

  21. Non-fiction literature.

    Better than any fictional tale.
It's bob's real life stories, stories with real consequence.

Bobtailing as they do with the greater story of over all societal decay that is at the center of his laments.

How a family went from being optimistic pioneers to a stalwart supporters and vibrant parts of the Community and then, within a generation, became self-centered zealots of personal privacy.

Except when THEY tell us the story. With the daughter mentioned frequently, by bob, as metaphor for the greater problems that bedevil society.

Using the story of her love of horses and the degradation of her shoveling shit to fulfill her horse back riding needs.

There by proving her worth, to him.

Classic literature, grand story telling, as told by a Master.
Reaching the apogee of his storytelling, here, at the Elephant Bar.

Stories that present great societal issues in a homespun way, as in his woeful tale of the challenges in bringing a $40 to $50 million dollar real estate project to life. While he Idaho real estate market is in the middle of the greatest level of real estate repossessions to have ever hit Idaho.

    On a personal note,
He should have stuck to the RV Park idea, better yet, he should have explored becoming a switch grass farm and developing an ethanol energy co-op with the University.

    Oh well...

    It's just story telling ...
Literature, that's all any of it is.

bob's told me so himself, of the The Bible and the Koran, surely his and my writing is of less consequence than those two references.

  27. Ron Paul says send money, to his friends

    Fellow Patriot,
The message could not have been clearer from the American people. They are ready and waiting for us in Washington to stand up for Liberty, to fight against statist power grabs, to end deficit spending, and to adhere to our Constitution.

Good men and women were sent here to join me in this battle, and I'm grateful. I'm ready to once again lead the fight to Audit the Fed, End the ObamaCare Mandate, stop Cap and Trade, and repeal the PATRIOT Act.

I want to stop our spending spree overseas and help forge a more constitutional and rational foreign policy. And I want to fight REAL ID and the TSA's jackbooted thuggery and help Senator Rand Paul (my son) pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution to end the insanity of spending money we do not have.

But I can't do any of that alone. I need the reinforcements I was sent this month, including my son Rand in the Senate.

But I especially need you. I need you to help Campaign for Liberty lead the fight from the OUTSIDE, while Rand and I and other new liberty congressmen help lead it from the INSIDE.

  29. As I was going into the grocery store the other night, a young girl passed by me. She had stopped briefly, I think, to hand a donation to the Salvation Army guy and then sort of bounced off, smiling, into the parking lot with her parents.

She was the very picture, an innocently, sweetly animated one, of health and happiness.

And I thought to myself that ideally, a world is so constructed, a society so fashioned - in a sense - for her. That if one could have any end in mind, it ought to be the creation and preservation of that simple, outgoing joy. In all its manifestations, in all its stages of life.

It felt good just to watch her.

Then I was shown a little overgrown stone marker set in the ground. The shape and size of a brick.

  37. Why is everyone looking for meaning on the outside, when you have the power to find it from within? There really is no grand plan, but that does not make life any less grand.

Accept that everything is in a state of constant transition, because it is. Your privilege is that for a short period of time you get to see and know that it all exists. That comes with the burden of knowledge that we have that privilege for an absurdly short period of time, but a privilege nonetheless.
