COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Dreams

  1. Since we're all trying to psychologically evaluate and give Trish advice on her mental stability maybe all she needs is some chakra healing. If she activates the energies of her root chakra she could improve her physical and mental health, psychological stability and inner peace.

  2. If you rise up to chakra three it'd get your mind off sex for awhile.

    :)

    (please, please don't get mad)

  3. I must have prophetic dreams cause I knew the shit was going to hit the fan, just not when or where.

  4. Thank heavens she didn't get mad.

But your chakra system must be a different one that I'm operating with, cause in mine, based on the hindu, the root chakra would be number one, that dead dull place right between your anus and your genitals.

This is Quirk's usual resting place.

  5. See It's not my sun sign, Capricorn, that makes me who I am but my freaking energy blocked navel chakra that's causing arrogance, an obsession with power, and a need to be in control. Oh, and let's not forget thoughtlessness and fits of rage.

  6. You're right but I was taught that the root is life's energy, passion, strength for living, feeling of trust and security and self preservation.

Good to see you all sharing yours.

  8. Havent been reading all the issues about dreams...

But I had one this morning... Left the TV on MSNBC news...

In my dream I was in my son's class at school...

Expert after expert came and spoke to his class...

I was sitting there as well, listening to the perspective that the solution to all our problems is a jobs creation, via another trillion or so in "stimulus"

this went on to all the normal MSNBC issues... Bush's fault, inherited debt, obama circumventing the congress on C02, oil at 92, opec's new bench mark was $100, islam is not the problem ya da ya da ya da...

Then I remembered, from the dream I raised my hand and tried to ask a simple question and was ignored... repeatedly...

Let's see what was my query...

    Oh yeah...

I asked: IF the government would reinstate oil drilling in Alaska & the Gulf, announce a 150 billion natural gas/lg conversion for all commercial trucks and buses in 48 months, offer investment tax credits and an extended patient length for all energy home savings devices and simply told the world it's will reduce it's imported oil by 90% in the next 4 years a few interesting things might happen...

the cost of oil, even after the dollar regained 40% of it's value would plummet.

The cost per barrel was between $12 - 32 NOT THAT LONG ago.

Right now the American CONSUMER it being taxed by oil gouging by the powers at be. Think of the world recovery if energy was cheap again?

    The way to do this?

Signal to the world that ENERGY production is our game.

Signal to the world, we dont give a LICK about opec oil anymore.

    devalue oil...

    quite the dream

  12. O Lord I shouldn't have done that. Big Mac, fries and a coke. Now I'll see tonight if Gag is right about food and dreams.

The snow is beginning. Really pretty downtown with all the lights. Snow coming down in the lights and street lights.

It takes a special talent to turn dreams into reality.

  14. .

There are a lot of songs about dreams

    Bobby Darin "Dream Lover"

    Aerosmith "Dream on"

But it's hard to beat Annie Lennox though when she is doing her thing.

    Love is a Stranger

    Love is a stranger
    In an open car
    To tempt you in
    And drive you far away

    And I want you
    And I want you
    And I want you so
    It's an obsession

    Love is a danger
    Of a different kind
    To take you away
    And leave you far behind
    And love love love
    Is a dangerous drug
    You have to receive it
    And you still can't
    Get enough of the stuff

    It's savage and it's cruel
    And it shines like destruction
    Comes in like the flood
    And it seems like religion
    It's noble and it's brutal
    It distorts and deranges
    And it wrenches you up
And you're left like a zombie

    It's guilt edged
    Glamorous and sleek by design
You know it's jealous by nature
    False and unkind
    It's hard and restrained
    And it's totally cool
    It touches and it teases
As you stumble in the debris

  15. I had a Big Mac recently.

It cost me in the neighborhood of $500.

But, boy, did it hit the spot.

Like only a Big Mac can.

  16. I had a dream when I was little in which I was running down a hallway, being pursued by someone unseen. There's an elevator at the end of the hallway and it keeps getting further and further away.

I finally reach it and the door opens. I rush in.

    There is no elevator car.

There is an elevator operator, and the two of us are suspended there together for a moment.

He regards me coolly and says, "The penalty for falling down an elevator shaft is death."

    And down I go.

    Kindergarten, it must have been.

  19. I had a flying dream once. Maybe it was an OBE, I don't know. When I was a kid.

Quite startling and new and strange.

    Never happened again.

Trish maybe you should consider the 20 piece nuggets for $4.99 instead of the $500 Big Mac.

Tomorrow is free Wampum Day at the Casino. Haven't been in a long time. Heck of a big breakfast for $6.00/no tax. Free coffee.

    I'd serve in her cabinet.

    Get it done all right...

But that won't happen, so I'll just have to do things on my own, in my own way....

I'm slowly awakened by the need to pee and I'm dreaming about this damned place.

My wife, who knows the Idaho law on stuff like this, says they can't stop you from having a Therapy Dog.

No matter what the condo rules say!!!!

I've thought about giving mine away. They're right up the road.

    Therapy dogs are wonderful.

I wouldn't trust you with one. Bob.

  27. I had a dream last night about flying. I think.

There was a big room with many people in it. I don't remember what kind of room it was. I don't remember getting on a plane. I don't remember getting off a plane. Then all of a sudden we were in a car driving. I can only assume we went from the air to the ground. I don't even know who was sitting next me in the car.

This morning I read that a blogging friend in coming to America.
