TIME MACHINE:

Ted Nugent: President Trump ‘would kick ass and take names’
BY NEETZAN ZIMMERMAN - 07/31/15 03:59 PM EDT

Consider hard rocker and conservative firebrand Ted Nugent Donald Trump’s number one fan.

Nugent, famous for his outspoken views on hunting and immigration, has already called for Trump to be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but in a new interview airing this Sunday, the NRA board member is calling for the real estate mogul to be awarded the presidency as well.

“I think Donald Trump, if he stays on course, he’s gonna be the next President of the United States,” Nugent told "The Rita Cosby Show."
Asked by the host what he liked about Trump, Nugent underlined the businessman’s "bold, brazen, courageous, unapologetic politics in his stance,” adding that, “his campaign, is just what the working-hard, playing-hard American families have been waiting for.”

Pressed on whether he thought Trump would make a good president, Nugent didn’t wait for Cosby to finish her question.

“Yes!” he said, cutting the host off. "He would kick ass and take names, and that's what America needs right now."

    1. If this is the beginning of a common sense reaction against political correctness and the inevitability of left wing fatalism, it's better late than never.

There is a greater right to protect your own national and cultural identity than there is to accept the notion that others have a right to what is yours.

However, it is a two way street. Mind our own business and protect our own. Expect no less and abandon the idea that we know what is best for others.

      Bull.

Doug complained that of the Syrian refugees coming into the US less than 1% were Christians even though they represent about 5% of the population there. What he didn't mention is that right next door in Iraq, the Christians represented about 15% of the refugees even though they represent only about 1% of the population.

Why the discrepancy? Who knows? It's complicated. In Syria, the Christians in general represent the middle class. Maybe they have the means to move on their own without going through the refugee process. Lebanon with a big Christian population is right next door and welcomes Christians. We've talked about the refugee process, how complicated it is, and how it starts with the UN. the truth is it's hard to pin down the difference for Christians with Syria and Iraq. It may be as simple as more Christians apply for refugee status in Iraq because they are more persecuted there.

The real question is, why isn't the US doing more to stop the persecution in those countries.

In Syria, the Assad regime is allied with the Christians, yet, the US is fighting Assad.

In Iraq, the US destroyed Iraqi society, that had and still have tremendous influence on the government there, yet from what I can see, they have done zip to help Christians there.

In Egypt, we send $billions in aid each year to a bankrupt military regime yet we put zero pressure on them to stop the persecution of the Copts and other minorities.

      I could go on.

Trump says the right things about Christians. Let's see him do something.

Friendly Reminder: Obama Selected The List Of Muslim Countries in Trump’s Executive Order

Matt Vespa Matt Vespa |Posted: Jan 29, 2017 9:00 AM

As the Left and some Republicans lose their minds over President Donald J. Trump’s executive order on immigration, let’s not forget that the list of concerned countries that the Trump administration outlined in the order is based on the one signed into law by the former Obama administration. So, it looks like the Obama White House set the groundwork (via Mic News):

According to the draft copy of Trump's executive order, the countries whose citizens are barred entirely from entering the United States is based on a bill that Obama signed into law in December 2015.
Obama signed the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act as part of an omnibus spending bill. The legislation restricted access to the Visa Waiver Program, which allows citizens from 38 countries who are visiting the United States for less than 90 days to enter without a visa.

Though outside groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union and NIAC Action — the sister organization of the National Iranian American Council — opposed the act, the bipartisan bill passed through Congress with little pushback.

At the initial signing of the restrictions, foreigners who would normally be deemed eligible for a visa waiver were denied if they had visited Iran, Syria, Sudan or Iraq in the past five years or held dual citizenship from one of those countries.

In February 2016, the Obama administration added Libya, Somali and Yemen to the list of countries one could not have visited — but allowed dual citizens of those countries who had not traveled there access to the Visa Waiver Program. Dual citizens of Syria, Sudan, Iraq and Iran are still ineligible, however.
So, in a nutshell, Obama restricted visa waivers for those seven Muslim-majority countries — Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen — and now, Trump is looking to bar immigration and visitors from the same list of countries.

Yet, I don’t remember the Left freaking out over this. I certainly don’t remember them going indiscriminately insane when the Obama White House stopped processing Iraqi visas for six months when—surprise! —Al-Qaeda operatives feigned refugee status to get relocated to Bowling Green, Kentucky. And yes, some of the applicants worked as intelligence assets and interpreters for the U.S. military, according to ABC News. But remember, that was when a Democrat was in the Oval Office, so it was okay back then.

Here’s the text of the order....

The Eradication of the Christian Communities of the Middle East

It is no coincidence that Egyptian Christians were attacked at the same time as the South Sudan Referendum and before the crisis in Libya.

Nor is it a coincidence that Iraqi Christians, one of the world’s oldest Christian communities,
have been forced into exile, leaving their ancestral homelands in Iraq.

Coinciding with the exodus of Iraqi Christians, which occurred under the watchful eyes of U.S. and British military forces, the neighbourhoods in Baghdad became sectarian as Shiite Muslims and Sunni Muslims were forced by violence and death squads to form sectarian enclaves.

This is all tied to the Yinon Plan and the reconfiguration of the region as part of a broader objective.

  18. The travelers were all being held in what’s called “secondary inspection,” referred to as “secondary.” It’s part of the CBP screening process where lawyers are rarely, if ever, allowed to be present.

But lawyers who spoke to The Daily Beast said it’s also unheard of for government agencies like CBP to prevent people who have the legal right to live in the U.S. from seeing their lawyers. And that’s what was happening.

After Brinkema’s order came down, and lawyers at Dulles prepared to meet their new clients, the CBP balked, barring these lawyers from seeing their would-be clients.

Time ticked. Protesters chanted. CBP officials were invisible; for hours, lawyers didn’t know if CBP officials at Dulles had even acknowledged Brinkema’s ruling existed.

Lawyers wrung their hands. And then, slowly, detainees started trickling out, one or two at a time. One woman who had been detained doubled over sobbing as she walked through the crowd. She nearly collapsed onto a loved one. Another man who was detained, Javad Fotouhi, calmly fielded questions from a scrum of reporters about the four hours he spent in secondary. When CBP finally let him go, he said, they didn’t say why.

“We saw elderly people and disabled people,” he said.

Then two wheelchair-bound people—an 88-year-old man and his 83-year-old wife, both of whom have green cards, according to their granddaughter—came out. Their granddaughter, Pegah Rahmani (an American citizen who lives in Fairfax, Va.) doubled over to hug them. She told The Daily Beast that her grandmother had recently had a stroke and her grandfather was legally blind.

“They really weren’t treating them very nicely,” she said, of their time in detention. “They took a lot of their stuff.”

That included medication; neither of the feeble octogenarians had access to their meds, much less to lawyers.

The rat demands proof that he lies

No need to find 3,000 to 6,000 quotes, just one.

I've pointed out we've been through this before back in 2014-2015, eventually I went through the exercise digging up what he wanted, a rather time consuming effort. Now, he demands I start it all over again. This is rat's usual ploy. Misrepresenting, diverting, lying is his game.

For instance, today saying if I won't define 'legion' he will. But I did define legion as 'many' one of the various meanings offered for the word, something he would already have known when he looked it up.

I also mentioned the lie he told when he distorted and misrepresented what WiO said about Hamas in the 2014 Gaza war. I asked if he denied this lie. He wouldn't answer. In not answering he was lying, lying by omission.

Now, I am not going to go back and reconstruct rat's history of lying here. It's not worth the effort. Most here know the rat's MO. However, the WiO lie is an easy one to reconstruct since he kept repeating it over and over again for several months even though his distortions were pointed out over and over again by me, WiO, Allen, et al. It wasn't worth the time I put into it but if it shuts his up I guess it's worth it.

It started out with the following WiO post...

    1. What is "Occupation"Mon Jul 21, 09:33:00 PM EDT

Social media war? I concede that Israel is losing that war....

However 50% of Hamas's rockets are used or destroyed.

I don't know the exact number, but I bet a good number of tunnels are destroyed.

And I don't know the exact number but I bet a huge number MORE of Hamas fighters are dead than Israeli fighters.

And of course, Hamas and Iran spent a very nice billion or two investing in both those tunnels and missiles and to what avail?

After 1,800 terrorists fired rockets at the CIVILIANS (both arab and jews) of Israel Hamas can claim they KILLED two. Now of course having rockets rain down hundreds a day on all parts of Israel is a war crime but who cares? Hamas is the darling of the Jew hating/Israel denying crowd...

I the end, Hamas and it's supporters will claim victory.. No matter reality...

If there is one Hamas member still alive and spitting? Israel lost...

reminds me of Monty Python's "its a flesh wound" skit...

Just saw a local couple on the news that were held up for about 4 hours at the border last night coming back from Canada. Both are Arab, she's a lawyer and an American citizen and her husband is from Iraq and has a green card.

The lady said the confusion centered around the fact that the border guards didn't really know what to do with them under the new policy.

This seems to be SOP for Trump. Sign off on a policy to meet a campaign promise and figure out how to implement it later. We saw it on Obamacare. Now, we see it on the immigration policy. Key departments including Homeland Security which has to implement it didn't hear about the decision until shortly before Trump signed off on it. Reports are they didn't provide much if any input.

Rudy Giuliani says Trump came to him and told him to form a commission to come up with a plan to ban Muslims legally. Giuliani says he formed the commission, got a lot of very 'smart lawyers' together, and came up with a plan that would pass muster legally.

Giuliani says the plan isn't based on religion but some are questioning that based on language talking exceptions for Christians and other persecuted groups.

Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham issued a joint statement criticizing the Trump administration for hastily carrying out its order on limiting U.S. entry to refugees and people from 7 predominantly-Muslim nations.

“It is clear from the confusion at our airports across the nation that President Trump’s executive order was not properly vetted," the statement reads.

Both warn about the consequences of such a ban on the war on terror and on how the U.S. is viewed in the Muslim world.

      Here is the full statement:

Our government has a responsibility to defend our borders, but we must do so in a way that makes us safer and upholds all that is decent and exceptional about our nation.

It is clear from the confusion at our airports across the nation that President Trump’s executive order was not properly vetted. We are particularly concerned by reports that this order went into effect with little to no consultation with the Departments of State, Defense, Justice, and Homeland Security.

Such a hasty process risks harmful results. We should not stop green-card holders from returning to the country they call home. We should not stop those who have served as interpreters for our military and diplomats from seeking refuge in the country they risked their lives to help. And we should not turn our backs on those refugees who have been shown through extensive vetting to pose no demonstrable threat to our nation, and who have suffered unspeakable horrors, most of them women and children.

Ultimately, we fear this executive order will become a self-inflicted wound in the fight against terrorism. At this very moment, American troops are fighting side-by-side with our Iraqi partners to defeat ISIL. But this executive order bans Iraqi pilots from coming to military bases in Arizona to fight our common enemies. Our most important allies in the fight against ISIL are the vast majority of Muslims who reject its apocalyptic ideology of hatred. This executive order sends a signal, intended or not, that America does not want Muslims coming into our country. That is why we fear this executive order may do more to help terrorist recruitment than improve our security.

However, others have looked at the costs of setting them up in Syria. A couple years back, one of our generals estimated that setting one up would first require setting up a no fly zone and that the operation would cost about $1 billion per month and require about 77,000 troops (pretty exact number for the military :o).

He goes on to document this contention.

The Department of Homeland Security targeted these seven countries over the last years as countries of concern. In February 2016 “The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.” It noted “the three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.” It was the US policy under Obama to restrict and target people “who have been present in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, at any time on or after March 1, 2011 (with limited government/military exceptions).”

    Dutch Death Trip
    By Thomas Lifson

Why is the government of the Dutch, some of the nicest, most polite and highly civilized people on earth, pushing an agenda of imposing death on people who have committed no crimes? They don’t even execute heinous criminals there. In fact the Dutch first abolished capital punishment for crimes in 1870, though they revived for a few war criminals following World War II, and then revived the ban. So who does the Dutch government want to kill? Two types of people.

Babies, especially foreign babies in poor countries. Reuters reports:

The Netherlands has committed $10 million for an initiative to replace funding for abortion services in developing countries that will be lost due to U.S. President Donald Trump's ban on financing foreign groups that provide abortions.

Trump reinstated a policy on Monday requiring overseas organizations that receive U.S. family-planning funds to certify they do not perform abortions or provide abortion advice as a method of family planning.

The Netherlands, which has some of the world's most liberal laws on reproductive health, said earlier this week the fund would seek donations from other governments, charities and companies as well as individuals.

Dutch officials estimate that the U.S. ban, which was condemned by women's rights and health campaigners, will cause a funding shortfall of $600 million over the next four years

But not just innocent babies. Also the helpless sick. Wesley J. Smith report at NRO:

… in the Netherlands, some patients have been euthanized who have never asked for it, a killing procedure known as “termination without request or consent.” (snip)

A woman signed an advance directive to be killed “at the right time” due to Alzheimer’s. But when the decision to kill her was made, she fought the lethal jab, so the death doctor had the family hold the struggling woman down so she could finish the homicide. Despite this blatant imposing of death, the doctor was cleared of wrongdoing by euthanasia authorities. From The Telegraph story: A Dutch woman doctor who asked an elderly patient’s family to hold her down while she administered a fatal drug dose has been cleared under Holland’s euthanasia laws. Mailonline reported that the patient fought desperately in an attempt not to be killed. Jacob Kohnstamm, chairman of the Regional Review Committee, which considered the case, said: “I am convinced that the doctor acted in good faith, and we would like to see more clarity on how such cases are handled in the future.”

    He accurately sums up:

Permitting killing as an answer to human suffering changes a culture radically over time. It diminishes the perceived inherent value of human life. Eventually, horrific acts become justified as “compassion.”

Exactly. Don’t forget that the Nazis believed (or at least said) that they were being compassionate in putting “defective” out of their misery, as well as being compassionate for others who would have a burden supporting all these “useless” people.

Gee, I wonder what the rush might be? Let’s just say that the Trump administration could use a change of subject after a brutal weekend in the media. They are indeed fortunate to have a handy subject-changer available, and using this announcement for that purpose would be a very smart idea. It’s the equivalent of tweeting out “Die Hard is not a Christmas movie” after committing a faux pas that’s filling up your mentions. You get the same outcome, but it’s a lot easier to work with.

The media is certainly capable of covering two major stories at a time, but they can only effectively hyperventilate over one at a time....

Have some coffee, and try again.

    5. I hope it's Hardiman. Gorsuch has some weakness on gun rights.

Hardiman sits in Pennsylvania, and knows Trump's sister, who also sits there.

How could the Dems vote against him now ?

And, I have now written my password down in two places that I can't fail to find easily again.

      Where are the two places?

You better document it here for when you 'fail to find easily again'.

  42. One of two gunmen who shouted 'Allahu akbar!' as they opened fire at a mosque in Quebec City was of Moroccan origin, a witness and local media reported Monday, revealing the first details about the attackers in the massacre that killed six people.

The terror suspects were identified as Mohamed Khadir and Alexandre Bissonnette, the Canadian TV network TVA Nouvelles reported. They were arrested soon after the shooting at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre Sunday night and were expected to appear in court later Monday, police told reporters.

That's what the left will say.

Everything is going to be The Donald's fault.

but wait, French, German and British citizens constitute the majority of the European foreign fighters that joined the ranks of Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, the latest study by an independent research center based in The Hague says.

France is the primary country of origin for the people who left to fight for the Islamic State terrorist group in the Middle East, as more than 900 its citizens traveled to Syria and Iraq to join the extremists.

We might have two billion people here in a decade.

It appears rat was right. Fox news indicates that Trump ordered the raid on al Qaeda in Yemen that resulted in one US death and four wounded.

Fourteen al Qaeda operatives were killed. No report by CenCom on whether any civilians were injured. Didn't see any info on why they weren't taken out by drones.

He's relying on the advice of 'Mad Dog' Mattis, who has a reputation for being cautious with the use of force.

He's not going to be playing with tanks in the Oval Office, nor bimbos either. Nor will he be just sitting on his ass meeting with CAIR operatives.

I think I saw an ad just the other day on what to take for 'BB' and if I see it again I'll pass the info along to you two fellows.

DeBlasio to CNN: It's OK to shield undocumented drunk drivers

BY JOE CONCHA - 01/29/17 08:12 PM EST

New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio told CNN's Jake Tapper that it is OK to shield undocumented immigrants who drive drunk from federal authorities if it does not "lead to any other negative outcome."

Tapper asked the Democratic mayor on Sunday's "State of the Union" if he would comply with federal authorities following President Trump's executive order to halt funding to cities that do not cooperate with immigration officials by presenting a specific scenario.

"If you’re a drunk driver and you’re an undocumented immigrant, why should there be a place for you in this country?” Tapper asked.

"Jake, there are 170 offenses in that law that are listed as serious and violent crimes that lead to automatic cooperation between the city of New York and our federal partners,” DeBlasio replied. “So any serious and violent crime, we’re going to work with them.”

“Is grand larceny or drunk driving a very minor offense?” Tapper followed.

“Drunk driving that does not lead to any other negative outcome, I could define as that,” DeBlasio said.

According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, nearly 10,000 Americans are killed each year as a result of drunk driving, or 27 people per day....

DeBlasio seems to have a weird idea of what is a serious crime.

However, it sounds like he has no problem with Trump's plan to without funds from sanctuary cities. Good.
