COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Michoacán - Civil Defense and Mexican Special Forces: Closing in on Knights Templar Leaders

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto

Commits Federal Troops in the Hunt for Knights Templar Leaders

After being reinstated as spokesman and leader for Tepalcatepec Civil Militia, following his recovery from injuries sustained in a plane crash, Dr Mireles was ratified as equal spokesman and leader of the Civil Defense general council with Hipolito Mora and Papa Smurf.

  Doctor Mireles

On Friday there was a meeting between Civil Defense leaders and the Federal authorities.

 Hipolito Mora

Civil Defense have agreed to not engage in advancement of large cities, at this time.  Feds have agreed to send an elite team of Special Forces and satellite tracing equipment to the location of the discovery of Chayo.  La Tuta is also in that area.

Tumbicastío, is located high in the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains at an elevation of 12, 600 ft. It is an extremely remote area with limited access.  There are only two dirt mountain roads that serve the region of Tumbicastío, the local people use steep and treacherous foot trails in addition to the mountain roadway.

The dirt roads themselves are difficult to traverse.  Movement in the Sierra requires knowledge of the area or a lot of time. The geography of the area favors of Caballeros Templarios whose intimate familiarity with the terrain and preplanned escape routes have aided them in avoiding the Federal forces.

The Federal forces had been stymied in their eorts, even after receiving intelligence reports of the location of key Templarios leaders, namely Chayo and La Tuta.As of last  Friday, Federal forces have been concentrating on area from Tumbiscatío to Arteaga.

Civil Defense teams have joined the Mexican Special Forces on the advance into Tumbiscatio, they have also established observation post on the mountain trails that access the region.

Dr. Mireles spoke with reporters concerning the Civil Defense militia working in concert with the Federal forces. He reported that there were high hopes that the combined action was close to capturing in Nazario Moreno González, aka "El Chayo" and possibily Servando Gomez, aka "La Tuta ", as well..
Dr. Mireles quoted in El Universal:
"We are close to some leaders, "El Chayo", was on a ranch near Tumbiscatío" reports José Manuel Mireles....

After speaking with reporters he visited the site in Los Reyes where five unarmed militiamen had been killed when Templarios ambushed them from nearby rooftops.

Dr. Mireles, spoke to the crowd, had a moment of silence and left a bouquet of flowers on the black and white checkerboard tiled walkway where those killed fell.

Meanwhile  in Apatzingán  hundreds of supporters of the Civil Defense forces marched on city hall where a group of them gained access to demand the resignation of mayor Uriel Chavez, who is the nephew of Nazario Moreno González, aka "El Chayo".

While the protestors sung the Mexican national anthem the Federal police escorted Chavez out of the city. The entire protest had been conducted under the view of the Federal Police. Members of the Chavez administration began exiting the building, although a group of employees remained in place and continued their civic duties.

There were feelings of betrayal amongst the protesters, their perception being that by removing the Mayor the Federal Police were sheltering  Chavez, delaying accountability and his formal resignation.
All three Civil Defense leaders, Dr. Mireles, Hipolito Mora and Papa Smurf led the protest,

Mexico seized more than 119,000 tonnes of minerals suspected of being part of illegal export operations in a port where a powerful drug gang allegedly has been shipping iron to China, the government said on Monday

More than 400 federal agents, police and military personnel raided 11 sites around the Pacific port of Lazaro Cardenas in the state of Michoacan, and troops seized minerals without proper documentation, Alfredo Castillo, the federal government commissioner in the state, said in a statement.

The Mexican Navy took over the port in November to combat an illegal iron ore exporting business to China allegedly run by The Knights Templar drug cartel.

Six Chinese citizens were detained in the raid and 124 heavy machines such as bulldozers were seized, Castillo said, adding that the government was carrying out tests to determine what mine the minerals came from.

The state is Mexico's top producer of iron ore, and the port has drawn Chinese traders who ship steel to their homeland.

The fact that FDR's grandfather was the premier drug runner in all of recorded history, that I find fascinating.

  5. To be exact, President Obama's 2010 health law was responsible for about three-quarters of a surprising January rise in U.S. consumer spending and American income growth, according to calculations by the Wall Street Journal.

While not exceptional, the gains were significant: a 0.4 percent rise in consumer spending ($45.2 billion) and a 0.3 percent rise in personal incomes (up $43.9 billion), according to new figures released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The growth came in spite of the expiration of unemployment benefits for the long-term unemployed and all that horrible winter weather.

So what exactly did the Obamacare rollout do to cause such a rise? For one, it . . . . . .

All of the very low-wage jobs added in 2013 fell below the 30-hour threshold that ObamaCare defines as full-time, an analysis of government wage and hours-worked data suggests.

The finding highlights concerns about the impact of the health law’s employer insurance mandate, the proposed minimum wage hike and — especially — the combination of both.

Professional assholes the world over will rejoice.

As Joesph Campbell noted, first the old accepted forms erode away, and soon their are no forms at all......a kind of social chaos intervenes......life becomes less serious.......and as he said, life is, finally, a serious business.

Japan is a wonderful country in this regard. There form is still often retained, and even taken to a high art form in the Tea Ceremony. England of the higher classes practiced the art, though often humorously violating it with understatement.

Here in this precinct, our rules regarding form are at least still on the books.

      Egypt bans Hamas

Robert Spencer Mar 4, 2014 at 2:09pm Egypt, Hamas 12 Comments
HaniyehMorsiHow things have changed: it wasn’t all that long ago that Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh was meeting with Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in Cairo (as pictured). Hamas-linked groups in the U.S. such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will be hardest hit by this news — ironically, now they have a freer hand to operate in the United States than they do in Egypt, despite the Muslim Brotherhood’s stated goal (according to a captured internal document) of “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” (Hamas styles itself as the Muslim Brotherhood in “Palestine.”)

“Egyptian Court Bans Hamas Activities in the Country,” by Maya Yarowsky for Jerusalem Online, March 4 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Egypt has banned Hamas activities in the country: the court in Cairo ruled that all Hamas activities in Egypt are officially illegal. Communications media in Egypt report that the decision was made as part of efforts to control the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas’s sister movement and greatest supporter, whose activities in the country were also banned, with Former President Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood leader who was ousted last year, currently facing trial.

The judge asserted in the ruling that Hamas is a security threat to Egypt, blaming members of the organization for terror attacks and activities, along with a connection to Al-Qaeda operatives in the Sinai peninsula. According to reports in the country, Hamas’s offices and bases throughout the country will be closed in light of the ruling.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri condemned the decision, stating that the court is ruling against the Palestinian nation, “This act harms Egypt’s image and the country’s position in realizing Palestinian goals. The decision constitutes a new front against the Palestinian resistance”.

The decision by the court is Cairo will mostly hurt the Hamas government in Gaza economically, limiting the activities of the organization and resulting in economic pressure on the regime, which taxes the goods smuggled through the tunnels between Egypt and Gaza….

In the 15 years that followed, the state’s minimum wage climbed to $9.32 -- the highest in the country. Meanwhile job growth continued at an average 0.8 percent annual pace, 0.3 percentage point above the national rate. Payrolls at Washington’s restaurants and bars, portrayed as particularly vulnerable to higher wage costs, expanded by 21 percent. Poverty has trailed the U.S. level for at least seven years.

  13. Embattled IRS Official Visited White House 155 Times - Fox Nation

Embattled IRS official Sarah Hall Ingram made 155 visits to the White House to meet with a top Obama White House official with whom she exchanged confidential taxpayer information over email.

Of Ingram’s 165 White House meetings with White House staff, a staggering 155 of them were hosted by deputy assistant to the president for health policy Jeanne Lambrew, according to a June Watchdog.Org analysis of White House visitor records.

Ingram exchanged confidential taxpayer information with Lambrew and White House health policy advisor Ellen Montz, according to 2012 emails obtained by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The White House recently took down visitor logs recording details of these meetings, citing the government shutdown.

Ingram headed the scandal-plagued IRS office that oversaw tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012, when she left to take over the IRS office in charge of Obamacare implementation.

Former IRS Exempt Organizations division director Lois Lerner, who apologized for improperly scrutinizing tax-exempt applications of conservative groups between 2010 and 2012, also received an email alongside Ingram, Lambrew and Montz that contained confidential information.

In 2012, Ingram attempted to counsel the White House on a lawsuit from religious organizations opposing Obamacare’s contraception mandate.

The emails provided to Oversight investigators by the IRS had numerous redactions with the signifier “6103.”

Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code forbids a federal employee from “disclos[ing] any return or return information obtained by him in any manner in connection with his service as such an officer or an employee.”

House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa announced Sunday that Lerner will testify at Wednesday’s hearing, but Lerner’s attorney Bill Taylor said that Lerner will seek to continue invoking her Fifth Amendment rights and will also seek a one-week delay of her testimony.

Oversight members are reportedly open to granting Lerner a one-week delay if she petitions for one in person at Wednesday’s hearing. The delay would allow Lerner’s lawyers to continue negotiating for immunity, which they have been doing since at least September.

  29. Zeke Emanuel admits politics behind new Obamacare delay- For the political gain, it's worth it."

Obamacare architect Zeke Emanuel seems like an honest guy — even when it gets him in trouble

    UNLIKE RUFUS AND OBAMA

(RELATED: Chief Obamacare architect: ‘If you want to keep your doctor, you can pay for it’). And that honesty was on full display Wednesday, after the healthcare expert denounced the policy implications of yet another Obamacare delay but admitted that “for the political gain, it’s worth it.”

Emanuel spoke with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner about the White House’s unilateral delay of a deadline to kill insurance plans that don’t meet minimum guidelines. The delay will prevent hundreds of thousands of Americans from losing what the Obama administration feels are subpar plans — at least until after the November midterm elections.

The White House routinely denies that their changes to Obamcare — 30 and counting — are politically motivated, instead arguing that they are merely seeking to implement the law most effectively. But Emanuel — who worked for years as a healthcare expert in the Obama administration — admitted this new delay isn’t about policy, but the ballot box.

“Europe is too interlinked with Russia in terms of energy supplies to do anything,”

Olivier Jakob, the managing director of Zug, Switzerland-based researcher Petromatrix GmbH, said by phone March 4.

“We just import too much oil from Russia.”

Europe relies on Russia for almost a third of its supply of crude, natural gas liquids and refined oil products, according to 2012 data from the Paris-based International Energy Agency.

Putin, president of the world’s largest energy exporter, said at his residence near Moscow on March 4 that Russia saw no immediate need to invade Ukraine.

President Barack Obama said a day earlier the U.S. and its allies were preparing economic sanctions to show Russia that control of the Crimean peninsula will be “costly.”

In Mississippi, 72% of the Babies Aborted Are Black

(CNSNews.com) – Although whites outnumber blacks in Mississippi by nearly 2-to-1, 71.67% of the babies aborted in Mississippi are black, while 26.6% are white.

Based on data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 39,052 black babies were killed by abortions in Mississippi between 1995 and 2010. During that same time period, 14,529 white babies were aborted in the Magnolia State.

The total number of abortions between 1995 and 2010 in Mississippi was 54,484. In addition to blacks and whites, that number also includes abortions among Hispanics, "Other" (meaning Asian and Native American), and "Unknown," as published by the CDC.

The data for 2010 is the latest information from the CDC on reported abortions, as published in their annual Abortion Surveillance reports. The next report, which will cover 2011, is projected to be published in November of this year.

The population of Mississippi for 2012, as estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau, was 2,986,450. Among that group, whites comprised 59.9% or 1,788,883 persons. Blacks comprised 37.4% of the population, which equals 1,116,932 persons. The balance in population was comprised of Hispanics (2.9%), and American Indian, Pacific Islander and Asian (less than 1%).

Whites in Mississippi outnumber blacks by a ratio of 1.6-to-1. Despite that difference, the data show that black abortions comprised, on average, 72% of the total over the last 16 years.

Although black abortions comprised 72% of the total abortions between 1995 and 2010, in some years the percentage was higher. In 2009, for example, the percentage of black babies killed by abortion in Mississippi in relation to the total was 76.8%. In 2007, it was 77.8%; in 2005, 77.2%.

The number of abortions in Mississippi by year (1995-2010) for whites and blacks is presented below:

    Damned Racist Democrats.

    - Senate blocks Obama's civil rights nominee -

Senators blocked President Obama’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s civil rights division Wednesday in a bipartisan filibuster, with opponents saying his history defending a convicted cop-killer in the Supreme Court made him a poor choice.

The defeat of Debo P. Adegbile, who as an attorney for the NAACP backed appeals by former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, is a major blow to Mr. Obama. Democrats changed the rules last year to overcome filibusters with just 50 votes, but Majority Leader Harry Reid couldn’t even muster all of his own troops Wednesday.

Mr. Obama called the vote “a travesty based on wildly unfair character attacks,” and Mr. Reid lashed out at Republicans in thinly veiled accusations of racism.

“Maybe it’s time that America had a good discussion on civil rights,” the Nevada Democrat said.

He blamed Republicans for problems with confirmations of other black nominees.

On Wednesday, however, seven Democrats joined Republicans, agreeing with criticism from police organizations, including the Fraternal Order of Police, that Mr. Adegbile’s support for Abu-Jamal was too much to stomach.

Abu-Jamal was convicted of killing a Philadelphia police officer in 1981. In the years since, his case has become a racial dividing line.

Holder said that he was told that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak had asked Clinton to grant the pardon. Holder said that, at the time, he did not give the case much thought, because he did not think the pardon would be granted, as no fugitive had ever previously been granted a presidential pardon.

He later said he wished that he had looked into it more thoroughly,[16] and expressed regret over the incident. "I wish that I had ensured that the Department of Justice was more fully informed and involved in this pardon process", he said admitting the mistake"

Holder was reportedly "surprised" by news reports pointing out this statistic, and was said to have told associates he did not wish leak prosecutions to be his legacy.[70] Several prominent leak prosecutions under Holder have involved communications between criminal defendants and journalists, and the pervasive use of traceable electronic communications between journalists and their sources provided the prosecution with a tool to determine the potential origin of published information.[71]

Under Holder, the Justice Department has legally argued that journalists have no legal protection to maintain the confidentiality of their sources, and can be compelled by the government to reveal them, or potentially face criminal contempt charges.[72]

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa told Fox News Wednesday his House committee could move as early as next week to consider holding former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt.

Lerner refused earlier in the day to testify on her role in the agency’s targeting of Tea Party and other conservative groups.

Her decision to plead the Fifth Amendment marked the second time in 10 months that she asserted her constitutional right not to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Affairs.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said of her refusal, “at some point Lerner must testify” or be held in contempt.

“Our committee will consider it,” Issa, the committee chairman, told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren on “On the Record.”

“We could consider it as early as next week.

    1. "“He promised that he would have quick action and we still don’t have the documents from an agency that is in this administration."

His committee has been frustrated with the administration's failure to cough up emails from Lois Lerner, who ran the IRS department that blocked Tea Party groups from winning the typically quick approval of tax exempt status. Lerner was on Capitol Hill Wednesday where she refused to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“I still don’t have all of her emails. I still don’t have all of the documents that I’ve requested. The administration promised a quick action, and I’m still waiting for her emails,” said Camp, a Michigan Republican. “I need all of those, before I can conclude.”

By refusing to make good on his promise, Camp said that Obama and his administration is to blame for dragging out the investigations. Had Lerner not refused to testify to his committee earlier, Camp said “we probably would be at the bottom of what this is all about.”

He also expressed disgust that the Tea Party victims of the scandal, many of whom have been identified and even testified before his panel, are being ignored by the administration’s probe.

“As far as I know, I don’t know that Justice has spoken to any of the victims. I have not got information that they have even contacted the witnesses that came before the Ways and Means Committee,” said Camp.

“We found that the targeting was more widespread than they had admitted. We found that it wasn’t just agents in Cincinnati that were rogue agents, this actually originated in Washington, D.C.,” he said. “I don’t think a lot of the public knows that,” he added."

“She was pretty deep, and the water was moving the van, and the kids were screaming,” Tim Tesseneer told CBS News. “He got the two kids out while she dove out the window, the driver’s window … just belly-flopped into the water.”
Tesseneer added that the children told them there was a baby in the van.
“The kids are screaming, ‘There’s a baby! There’s a baby!’ I get back to the van, and by this time a couple of lifeguards have made it down there to us, and come to find out there’s a baby still strapped in the seat, but we got her.”
Authorities are questioning the mother as to why she decided to drive a minivan full of kids into the ocean. Her children are currently in state custody."

To compare Medicare to Obamacare is a real stretch. Medicare was passed for the elderly 50 years ago. Obamacare, a program that we are told was instituted to grant universal healthcare to all Americans and modifying one fifth of the economy was conceived and passed in less than a year.

Readmissions are down because hospitals don't get paid for them anymore. In fact, they are punished.

This would obviously affect the number of hospital acquired diseases/infections; however, to assume that having less people in the hospital is the sole reason for a reduction in HAI would be a little post hoc, ergo propter hoc. HAI has been a problem forever and there are continuous efforts to reduce it. For instance, here in the Detroit area, in addition to the routine sanitizing protocols, they have recently started using ionized radiation in all areas of the hospital in order to reduce the problem.

In addition, just saw a report on the NBC Nightly News that the ACA is driving up the cost of cancer treatment in the US by limiting care to larger hospitals even though the hospitals can have twice the cost of smaller local or regional cancer treatment facilities. In addition to the cost hit there are other problems. Treatment that might take a patient a half hour in one of the smaller facilities could keep the patient at the hospital for up to 10 hours in some cases. And then you have the HAI problem that was mentioned above.

Then there are the subtle issues such as section 340B where even well-intentioned policies end up having major unintended consequences.

Washington, DC (NAPSI) - Many Americans are asking their representatives what’s being done about a well-intentioned health care cost-cutting program that’s actually having the opposite effect. The original idea was to help not-for-profit hospitals cover some of the costs associated with treating low-income patients by making pharmaceutical companies provide large discounts to hospitals that treat many Medicaid patients. The discounts were to be for medicines used in an outpatient setting, such as chemotherapy drugs. The Problem The program, called 340B, is now used by many hospitals to get discounts on medicines for insured patients. The hospitals then pocket the difference—unfortunately, they are not required to pass on savings to patients—and use it to fund executive salaries and other unintended uses.

As the Affordable Care Act expands Medicaid eligibility, more patients on Medicaid will mean more hospitals are eligible for discounts. Additionally, some hospitals with the benefit of 340B discounts are buying up—or partnering with—private clinics, which would not on their own qualify for discounts.
