The Deep State - Hidden Levers of Power within Government

Since the end of World War Two, unsupervised agencies such as CIA, DIA and NEA, etc. (the Deep State) have been involved in international intrigue resulting in a variety of unforeseen and undesirable events. This interview seems to touch on all the current hot buttons of the modern conspiracy theorist: Trilateralism, the military industrial complex, CIA creation of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. The Ford, Rumsfeld, Cheney triumvirate.  William Casey's development of the Afghan heroin market, and destruction of Gorbachev. The rise of Pakistan and the power of the "Afghan Arabs" (bin Laden).

The Deep State efforts of right wingers like Oliver North, Cheney and Rumsfeld to "hollow out" constitutional protections as the Deep State (secret government) seeks to usurp control.

What a brilliant move this was.

  2. Muslim Brotherhood will run for half of Egypt's parliament

    MCCLATCHY NEWSPAPERS

CAIRO, Egypt -- Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, the largest and best-organized Islamist faction in Egypt, announced Saturday the formation of its new political party and said it plans to contest half the seats in parliament in the first post-revolution elections scheduled for next fall.
The Freedom and Justice Party is the culmination of more than 80 years of struggle toward official recognition and full political participation for the Muslim Brotherhood. Since the group's founding in 1928, successive Egyptian administrations have outlawed the group and arrested its members.
"This party will be independent from the Brotherhood, but will coordinate with it," Mahmoud Hussein, the secretary general of the Brotherhood, told a news conference in Cairo.

  5. I guess the gasoline market is betting on them; gasoline has gone into full-fledged backwardation (betting on lower prices in the future.)

  6. I don't know why Deuce moved this post up. I had slipped it back a post.

I got a laugh out of it. The old man back in 2007 spooked by the eveeel Republicans but, God Bless America, he was selling his book.

  7. We need to go on take out Gaddafi. We made war on him, invaded his country and gave him every right and reason to defend himself.

  8. Good Grief, consider the source, some English Professor from Berkeley.

Mika's been chewing that opiate dental chewing gum, again.

  9. Too bad it didn't get the whole damned clan.
    Then we'd have our revenge.
Then just let it devolve into a stalemate, and a partition.

  14. .

I got a laugh out of it.

I didn't find it funny at all. It agrees with the views I've had for a long time.

Basically, I have viewed US foreign policy from Dulles' "Domino Theory" through the CIA faulty analysis on the Soviet Union during the cold war and even to today's screwed up ME policy as one continuous stream of FUBAR.

I was surprised to hear that prior to Casey taking over, the CIA was actually providing good intelligence on what was going on in the Soviet Union. This was a period when I was doing a lot of partying and not paying much attention to what the CIA was up to so I guess I missed it.

Today, IMO, those who can’t see what is going on in this country suffer from cognizant dissonance. Rather than use reason they prefer rationalization. “Sure, the government is taking some of my freedoms, but heck, we are in a war on terror.” Or, “If you haven’t done anything wrong why not let the government look at your e-mail records without a warrant.”

    Suckers.

  16. You have to ask what is it all for.

The US is ran by and for the banking/corporate mafia. This has been so for a very long time. The corporate mafia has been extracting all elements of life, elements of life that make life worth living. In effect, it has turned citizens into little more than animals and serfs. The banking/corporate mafia has used propaganda to completely blind people to their condition. Those who see or sense what is going on, are bribed to maintain themselves in the system, or tranquillized with various "medications", or if this doesn't work are suicided/murdered outright.
