  5. 'Let's Get Rid of Him': Chaffetz Says Sessions Is 'Worthless Attorney General'

"He's conflicted himself out of his this," Chaffetz said. "He should resign or step down or the president should fire him. He's a worthless attorney general. ... Let's get rid of him. Have a real attorney general."

Chaffetz said he respects the rank-and-file agents at the FBI and Justice, but many high-level officials are clearly biased and politically motivated. Despite that, he said, Sessions has been unwilling to take action and fix major systemic issues at the Justice Department.

"I don't believe Donald Trump is serving the country and himself and anybody else by having the attorney general that he has in place," Chaffetz said.

  7. An investigation by a Houston television reporter revealed that the man accused of murdering a store owner is allegedly an illegal alien who is currently under President Barack Obama’s DACA amnesty program. The “Dreamer” is currently on the run after allegedly killing the store owner and shooting another man.

An investigation by ABC13’s Jessica Willey reports that accused killer Judas Deluna, 21, is an illegal alien who is currently under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program. The program allows undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents to receive temporary protected status from deportation. The federal government is supposed to conduct a criminal background investigation prior to adjusting the immigrant’s the DACA status

Younger illegal immigrants in Arizona make up a far larger percentage of the state’s prison inmates than their share of the population would suggest, according to a new analysis.

While illegal immigrants ages 18 to 35 — a group immigration activists call “Dreamers” — are about 2 percent of of the Arizona population, they are almost 8 percent of the prison population. The over-representation by a factor of four shows that younger illegal immigrants in Arizona are far more likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens or legal immigrants of a similar age, says John Lott Jr., president of the Crime Prevention Research Center.

“Even after adjusting for the fact that young people commit crime at higher rates, young undocumented immigrants commit crime at twice the rate of young U.S. citizens,” Lott wrote in a report published Thursday. “These undocumented immigrants also tend to commit more serious crimes.”

      Delete
    3. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) tells us that nearly half of illegal aliens who are eligible for DACA have only a "basic" proficiency of the English language and 24 percent are considered "below basic" or "functionally illiterate." This blows away the claims of the [l]eft that D[REAM]ers are productive members of our society, when it appears most don't want to assimilate at all.

Washington (AFP) - The CIA on Saturday categorically denied reports that it was fleeced by a mystery Russian who promised compromising information on US President Donald Trump.

The secretive agency rarely issues any kind of comment, but came out to deny the report in The New York Times and a similar one in The Intercept, an online journal focusing on national security issues.

"The fictional story that CIA was bilked out of $100,000 is patently false," the Central Intelligence Agency said in a statement sent to AFP.

"The people swindled here were James Risen and Matt Rosenberg," the CIA said, referring to Times reporter Rosenberg, who wrote the story, and Risen, a former Times reporter who authored The Intercept's article.

    Both reports appeared on Friday.

The president tweeted approvingly that The Times article shows a need to "drain the swamp" in Washington.

In a story worthy of a John le Carre novel that included secret USB-drive handovers in a small Berlin bar and coded messages delivered over the National Security Agency's Twitter account, CIA agents spent much of last year trying to buy back from the Russians hacking programs stolen from the NSA, the Times reported.

The seller, who was not identified but had suspected links to both cyber criminals and Russian intelligence, tantalized the US spies with an offer of the NSA hacking tools that had been advertised for sale online by a group called the Shadow Brokers.

Some of the tools, developed by the NSA to break into the computers of US rivals, were used by other hackers last year to crack or infect computer systems around the world. The Times described the Americans as "desperate" to get the tools back.

Reached through a chain of intermediaries, the seller reportedly wanted $1 million after quickly dropping his opening demand of about $10 million.

The $100,000 was an initial payment by US agents still dubious he really had what he was promising.

In its report, the Times cited US and European intelligence officials, the Russian, and communications the newspaper reviewed.

The seller also repeatedly pressed US agents with offers of compromising materials, or kompromat, on Trump, the Times said.

Gosar said it's time to hold people like former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein accountable.

He explained that the memo contains a number of shocking allegations, including that the FBI and Justice Department relied on the infamous anti-Trump dossier to secure FISA surveillance warrants to spy on at least one member of the Trump team. It also asserts the FBI and Justice Department, in their application to the FISA court, used media reporting to lend credibility to the dossier, which they failed to disclose was a political opposition document funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

"This was a premeditated attack on a political opponent, and we can't have that happening," Gosar said. "People have to pay for that."

  13. It’s Time for This Nightmare to End: AG Jeff Sessions Must be Fired or He Must Resign

For months it’s been clear that AG Sessions is a total failure. He recused himself and then hired crook Rod Rosenstein as Asst AG who then created the crooked Mueller investigation. If this republic is to continue, Sessions must go!

The US cannot have multiple layers of laws. It’s impossible to have some individuals who do not have to abide by the same laws as the rest of the population. We also cannot stand for the corrupt FBI, DOJ and State Departments (amongst others) that are able to spy, lie and assault Americans for faulty crimes. Obama’s Administration was corrupt and dishonest at all levels and so it’s no surprise that the entire federal government is corrupt. These people must be swept out. It’s starts with AG Sessions!

AG Sessions praised Asst AG Rosenstein the same day Rosenstein was identified in the FISA memo as one of the individuals who signed off on the slanderous FISA memo to spy on President Trump. Mueller’s investigation is full of former Clinton and Obama corrupt cronies. The FBI and DOJ continue to delay and prevent Congress from seeing information requested for month. Much of the information is unnecessarily redacted from the individuals (Congress) who has the mandate to oversee these same institutions.

Many Congressman are calling for Jeff Sessions to resign or be replaced and have for months –

One video on the Internet explains Sessions’ immense failures. (The only point not relevant is related to the suggestion of moving DOJ official Rachel Brand up to oversee the Mueller investigation. This is not possible now as she resigned from the DOJ on Friday.)

Federal Agency Chief Is Fired For The Most Unbelievable Reason

The FRA is a sleepy, backwater agency and it is entirely possible that Hall could have run a public relations agency while serving as acting administrator–no, the FRA had and has no role in the recent spate of Amtrak accidents beyond investigating them–but there is a principle involved here. The FRA deputy is a Senior Executive Service position and the brazenness of acting as a spokesman for a private client while acting as FRA administrator is a bit much.

An administrator has been nominated but Chuck Schumer is blocking a vote in order to get Mrs. McConnell, who is the Transportation Secretary, to pay for a massive rail project around New York City....

Hill Republicans weigh putting pork back on the table

      by Jonathan Allen

WASHINGTON — Some top Republicans in Washington — including President Donald Trump — think they've found a cure for dysfunction in the Capitol: Put pork back on the congressional menu.

The controversial home-district pet projects tucked into larger bills — also known as "earmarks" or "congressionally directed spending" — were essentially banned after Republicans won control of the House in the 2010 elections. They've been politically toxic ever since, a symbol of the worst of the Washington swamp that Trump railed against during his campaign.

But there was Trump on Tuesday, giving them a shout-out at an unrelated White House meeting with Republican and Democratic lawmakers.

"Maybe all of you should start thinking about going back to a form of earmarks," he told lawmakers who had gathered at the White House to negotiate immigration policy. "We have to put better controls because it got a little out of hand, but that brings people together."

His remarks came as some Republican lawmakers have become more comfortable pushing publicly for a reinstatement of earmarking power and as the House Rules Committee plans to hold hearings this month on whether a new system for those set-asides should be devised...

Hillary Clinton’s Fingerprints Are All Over The FBI’s Investigation Into Trump’s Russia Ties
Her campaign's is linked to at least three separate pieces of information fed to the FBI, including the dossier the FBI used as a pretext to spy on a Trump campaign associate.

    Rachel Stoltzfoos By Rachel Stoltzfoos
    FEBRUARY 10, 2018

A significant part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s basis for investigating the Trump campaign’s Russia ties is looking more and more like a political hit job carried out by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign. Her campaign’s fingerprints are on at least three separate pieces of information fed to the FBI, including the Christopher Steele dossier Republicans say formed the basis of a secret warrant obtained to spy on Trump campaign associate Carter Page.

A former State Department official confirmed on the record Thursday that Clinton associates were funneling information to Steele as he was compiling a dossier commissioned and paid for by the Clinton campaign and DNC. That’s on top of the recent revelation that a top Department of Justice official fed the FBI information compiled by his wife, who was working for the firm Clinton and the DNC were paying to dig up dirt on Trump, Fusion GPS.

The dossier was quoted “extensively” in the FBI’s application to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign, according to a memo released by Republicans on the House intelligence committee. In a January letter to the FBI made public this week, two Senate Republicans also said Steele’s information formed a “significant portion” of the warrant application.

“It is troubling enough that the Clinton Campaign funded Mr. Steele’s work, but that these Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations raises additional concerns about his credibility,” Sens. Chuck Grassley, who chairs the Judiciary Committee, and Lindsey Graham wrote in the letter referring Steele to the FBI for a criminal investigation.

Taken together, here’s what we know so far about the extent of Clinton’s involvement in the FBI’s case.

The English language is shattering India's caste system

    By Monica Showalter

We can tell illegals till the cows come home that learning English is the real path to assimilation and upward mobility and all we hear is that diversity is "strength" or maybe that we have yanqui imperialista racist prejudices.

But over in India, we are seeing that idea coming to life.

Quartz has a long and utterly fascinating piece by Sajith Pai, titled "India has a new caste for native English speakers only,' describing how English is not only a great skill to have in the global economy, and a path upward in a big striving country such as India, something we all recognize here, too, it's positively trashing India's dreadful caste system and creating a new class of people who speak almost exclusively English, by choice. Pai writes:

Unlike Anglo-Indians, the original English-speaking community in India, who were Christians, Indo-Anglians comprise all religions, though Hindus dominate. Indo-Anglians are also a highly urban lot; concentrated in the top seven large cities of India (Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata) with a smattering across the smaller towns in the hills and in Goa.

Within these cities, they are clustered in certain pockets: Gurgaon, and parts of south Delhi, south Bombay and Western Suburbs from Bandra to Andheri, Indiranagar, Koramangala and gated communities in Bangalore’s outer ring road—Sarjapur, Koregaon Park—Kalyaninagar, Gachibowli and HiTech City etc. They fall well within the top 1% of India economically and have a consumption basket that is comparable to their middle-class counterparts abroad. Their kids go to International schools and have ‘first-world yoga names’ such as Aryan, Kabir, Kyra, Shanaya, Tia etc 2.

After all, it might be great to be born into one of the upper classes in India, but you sure don't want to be born into one of the lower ones, such as the Dalit, who are otherwise known as 'untouchables.' Those unlucky people are in another culture, but what seems evident to us is that they are largely not even given the dignity of being considered human in India's broader society. Untouchablee? What kind of a label is that? Who'd want to go through life with that stamped on his or her forehead? As you can imagine, they don't have much money - at all - and little path upward.

    Well, until now.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. These days, people of all classes in India are becoming English speakers and losing not only their own native languages - and in India, there are over 100 separate languages, with 24 of them major - they are losing their caste status along with it, too. Someone who becomes what the author calls an 'Indo-Anglian' for want of a better term, can marry anyone else within that subgroup, no fussing about family background, as is done with the carefully calculated arranged marriages ordinarily done in India, never mind if the two people can stand each other, although divorce is very rare in India.

It sounds amazingly modern - people marrying for love, ignoring class backgrounds, and starting their own supercaste - that of free people who don't look to class backgrounds, just personal character and talent and hardworkingness as the measure of virtue.

The writer, Pai, notes that it's a small group, only 400,000, which I guess in a nation of 1 billion, is a nothingburger, but Pai notes it's a very fast-growing group. With an instant path out of the lower classes, how could anyone with intelligence and ambition not take it? Word is getting around about the new way out as India grows economically. And in an interesting coda, Pai notes that the poorest of the poor, such as the Dalits, often do have English language skills, due to all the Western do-gooders who put them in English-language schools out of pity for them.

This, interestingly, parallels how America became a unified, and strong nation. Immigrants from all over came to the states and cut ties with their homelands. They learned English, changed their names to English-sounding equivalents [such as Showalter from Schoenwalter] changed their language to English, not just to advance but to be able to communicate their French- and Italian- and Russian-speaking neighbors, who also gave up their native tongues to speak in one language, and became Americans.

With this going on now in India, it's little wonder that India is now so friendly to President Trump, whose political philosophy recognizes this phenomena much more than the 'diversity is strength' mantra. If a nation is to be strong and unified, and upward mobility is to be assured, the common element of language is about the best force to make it happen.

    COUNTERPOINT

It's hard to think it's not about Trump. The 'black eye' picture is from 15 years ago, since then Porter worked as staff secretary for Orin Hatch, worked for Rob Portman from Ohio, and for Mike Lee from Utah. Why was it not a 'scandal' until Trump chose a man who had experience in the job from working with the longest serving Republican Senator (who was President Pro Tempore of the Senate), as staff secretary in the WH? One ex-wife even said if you need a staff secretary, he's absolutely perfect for that job.

  21. It is perfectly legitimate to question whether Obama’s approach in 2009 was right. One could argue that since the Iranian regime was going to try to blame the United States and accuse it of being behind the protests regardless, Obama should have spoken out more quickly and loudly.

    ...

America faces profound challenges in the Middle East, and needs a robust, clear-eyed, honest debate about what to do. And there is plenty of common ground upon which to build a new approach.

Unfortunately, that is not going to happen if Trump and his supporters continue to obsess about the Obama presidency instead of looking forward.

  26. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday called for all people in the country to come together, following protests last month that challenged the government.

In a speech marking the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Rouhani said he wanted the 40th year of the revolution to "be the year of unity."

    ...

In an apparent response to protesters' complaints, Rouhani also admitted that the government had made mistakes since the revolution.

"In the last 39 years, we have progressed in many fields, but at the same time we have had shortcomings," he said, adding: "Maybe we haven't been speaking transparently with our people."

    ...

The speech in Azadi Square came after demonstrators in Tehran marched through the streets chanting slogans against the United States and Israel.

Anniversary celebrations are occurring against a backdrop of continued economic struggles, despite a 2015 landmark deal that saw heavy international sanctions lifted in return for Iran's curtailment of its nuclear program.

  28. In a first, Bermuda just repealed gay marriage
    JAZZ SHAW Feb 11, 2018 12:31 PM

In 2017, Bermuda followed a pattern seen in many nations when their Supreme Court ordered that same-sex marriage be legally recognized across the island. Given trends in other countries these days, that wasn’t much of a shock. The real surprise came this week when Bermuda’s legislature overwhelmingly passed a “repeal and replace” of gay marriage and the Governor signed it into law. (Washington Times)
