COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Revenge, Diversity, Political Correctness, Multiculturalism and Intervention: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Manchester Bomber Believed Muslims Were Mistreated, Sought Revenge

Salman Abedi straddled middle-class Britain and his parents’ tumultuous North African homeland

Days before Salman Abedi blew himself up and killed 22 people outside a Manchester concert on Monday, he told his parents he was leaving their home in Libya to go on a pilgrimage to the Muslim holy city of Mecca, despite having other plans.

Interviews with friends and family suggest that Abedi grew up in a world that straddled middle-class Britain and the Libya of his parents, both before and after the chaotic collapse of strongman Moammar Gadhafi’s regime.

In 2011, when Abedi was still a teenager, he traveled to Libya and fought alongside his father in a militia known as the Tripoli Brigade to oust Gadhafi as the revolts of the Arab Spring swept North Africa and the Middle East, a family friend said.
The militia battled in Libya’s western mountains and played an important role in the fall of Tripoli to rebel forces that year.

Abedi and his mother returned to Britain in 2014, the family friend said. The young man enrolled at Manchester’s University of Salford in 2015 to study business administration. He studied for a year before effectively dropping out, according to a university spokesman. Abedi remained in Manchester, but his parents moved back to Libya last October, according to a relative, who said Abedi stayed there for roughly three weeks before his final return to Manchester.
Abedi’s sister, Jomana Abedi, said her brother was kind and loving and that she was surprised by what he did this week. She said she thought he was driven by what he saw as injustices.

“I think he saw children—Muslim children—dying everywhere, and wanted revenge. He saw the explosives America drops on children in Syria, and he wanted revenge,” she said. “Whether he got that is between him and God.”

In May 2016, an 18-year-old friend of Salman Abedi’s, Abdul Wahab Hafidah, a Briton of Libyan descent, died after being run down by a car and then stabbed in Manchester. Six men and a 15-year-old boy are on trial in a Manchester court this month charged with murder in connection with the killing, which prosecutors have argued was gang-related. The defendants deny wrongdoing.

Abedi viewed the attack as a hate crime, the family friend said, and grew increasingly angry about what he considered ill-treatment of Muslims in Britain. “I remember Salman at his funeral vowing revenge,” the Abedi family friend said.
Abedi became increasingly religious, family members said, and interested in extremist groups. A cousin, who declined to be named, said Abedi’s parents worried he was headed toward violence.

“We knew he was going to cause trouble,” the family friend said. “You could see that something was going to happen, sooner or later.”

Born in Manchester on New Year’s Eve in 1994, Abedi grew up playing soccer with his brothers in the street and went to school at the local Burnage Academy for Boys.

In Manchester, neighbors remember a family that didn’t mix much with others. On Fridays, they could be seen walking out of their house in traditional Muslim dress to attend a mosque in a converted church nearby.

People at the mosque remember Abedi’s father, Ramadan, sometimes performing the call to prayer, and his brother, Ismail, attending. They said Abedi wasn’t a regular.

His older brother, Ismail, worked as a computer engineer at the headquarters of the Park Cake Bakery, a big British baker with around 2,000 employees. He lived with his wife in an apartment near the Abedi family home in south Manchester. The building was searched by police on Tuesday and Ismail Abedi was arrested nearby.

Akram Ramadan, 49, who lives upstairs, said Ismail Abedi “was a talkative guy who would always say hello.” He described Ismail as “a regular Joe,” adding that he was “definitely a Manc”—a local colloquialism for people from Manchester.
Abedi’s younger brother, Hashem, detained in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Wednesday, confessed that the pair were members of Islamic State and involved in the attack, according to local Libyan security officials.

British and U.S. authorities caution that they haven’t been able to verify a link between Abedi and Islamic State. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Abedi went to Syria before the attack, one Western security official said.
In an interview before being detained, Ramadan Abedi told the Associated Press, “We don’t believe in killing innocents. This is not us.” He said his son had never been to Syria, the AP reported.

It was impossible to independently confirm the Libyan authorities’ assertion about Hashem Abedi’s confession, or to ascertain the conditions under which it was made. Libyan militias routinely resort to harsh tactics to get information from terrorism suspects. A U.K. government spokesman declined to comment.
On Monday evening, Salman Abedi was captured on security cameras, carrying a bag and walking in the foyer of the Manchester Arena where American pop star Ariana Grande was wrapping up her concert.

A more reasonable suggestion would be for "us" to go home and stay home and stop killing folk 'over there'

Ash is right. This has nothing to do with keeping them over there or killing them over there.

We are way beyond that point.

The new weapon is the cell phone and encryption. The new soldiers are homegrown individuals and cells.

The only things we can do are some of the things we are already doing but attempt to do them better, cut off their funds where possible, put pressure on state actors who fund or allow the funding of these groups, try to form broad coalitions of states as Trump did in SA to fight these groups wherever they are, continue to improve our monitoring of their activities to the extent possible, use typical police tactics such as informants and spies, and frankly recognize that you are not going to catch all of these guys and that there will be more deaths.

      One Big Step Back

Because of US Leaks UK Police Have Decided to Stop Sharing Information With the US

MANCHESTER/LONDON, May 25 (Reuters) - British police have stopped sharing information on the suicide bombing in Manchester with the United States, a British counter-terrorism source told Reuters on Thursday after police said leaks to U.S. media risked hindering their investigation.

Police are hunting for a possible bomb-maker after the 22-year-old attacker, British-born Salman Abedi, detonated a sophisticated device at a concert venue packed with children on Monday night, killing 22 people and injuring 64.

As the situation remained tense in Manchester, police said they were responding to a call at a college in the Trafford area, roads were closed and they were assessing the situation. Army bomb disposal experts had arrived at the college.

The decision to stop sharing police information with U.S. agencies was an extraordinary step as Britain sees the United States as its closest ally on security and intelligence.
"This is until such time as we have assurances that no further unauthorized disclosures will occur," said the counter-terrorism source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

You don't marry someone to change them and expect it to work.

It does take the courage and conviction to establish who we are and what we stand for.

You have to put up with shit from your family, less so with new neighbors.

The fact is, we need to ask ourselves three questions:

      1. Do we need them?

      2. Will they improve our situation?

      3. Will they conform to our laws and culture?

      1. No. But we need people like them. The current immigrant population in the US was 41.3 million in 2013. With lower birth rates among the population and the retiring baby boomers we need immigration for GDP growth and to pay the bills.

      2. Yes. There is some cost with 1st generation immigrants that evens out in the second and by the third they are integrated and providing positive value to the country.

      3. Of course, just as every other group has that came to the US. And please spare the occasional instances of crimes among a population of 3 million. I've cited the statistics here before though they haven't been well received.

There is a tired and fundamental flaw in that logic. Taking it to its logical extreme, we would require an ever expanding population to stay economically even and by implication a diminishing amount of resources per capita. That, of course, is absurd.

We have all the human resources we need. Those resources are not being utilized to best application due to political and social decisions. We have a bad distribution of wealth and we have a greatly expanding use of robotics and IA.

We don't need more people. We need less.

Another argument that does not stand scrutiny. The raw statistics are meaningless. I will give you one small example that shatters the argument.

On 911, 19 foreign Muslim criminals, a pittance of the population fundamentally destroyed trillions in wealth and wrecked the civility of a country of 325 million people.

Statistical gymnastics cannot hide the truth. Whatever accomplishments and contributions were made by your 3 million were eradicated by 19 of them.

I disagree and in fact believe it is your reasoning that has the fatal flaw. GDP growth is dependent upon many factors but I agree with Jeffrey Lecker, CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond that in the long run there are two major factors affecting GDP growth, population growth and productivity. I’ve seen other studies that posit the same thing.

      http://marketrealist.com/2015/01/2-factors-drive-real-gdp-growth/

Your argument ignores both demographics and trends and is therefore a static representation, IMO. It ignores the reality of our aging population and declining birthrate. That problem will ameliorate somewhat around 2030 but will return when the Millennials (larger group than boomers) starts retiring.

One example, from 1945 to 1960 the number of workers supporting one Social Security retiree went from 44 to 4 and then continued down. Right now it is south of 3 (a critical point to sustain) and will be around 2 by 1930 and continue down to 1 at which point it will be unsustainable. And Medicare is worse.

We have all the human resources we need. Those resources are not being utilized to best application due to political and social decisions. We have a bad distribution of wealth and we have a greatly expanding use of robotics and IA.

I agree to a large extent especially on the bad distribution of the labor force and of wealth overall. However, the trends are likely to continue until we reach a crisis of some sort that changes the paradigm.

We don't need more people. We need less.

Now, you sound like the elitists at the Club of Rome. ‘We need to reduce world population by 95%, well, as long I’m part of the 5%’.

Once again, I disagree with your analysis. 9/11 killed 3,000 people and destroyed a couple of building worth $3 – 4 billion. The resulting loss, the $ trillions you talk about, was because of the fear the attacks generated, fear that was nurtured, promoted, and used by the government, many governments, to accomplish their own ends, by ill-advised government actions leading to ineffective wars of choice which have cost us $ trillions and by the continuing wars and the infringement on our rights as citizens under the Constitution, by a stock market run by computers that can drop a 1000 points in a day based on a rumor of a rate hike. OBL must have laughed his ass off before he died. I’m sure he never expected anything like what he got from the attack.

It is like making the claim that 99.99% of the dam was perfect except for one tiny ten foot hole.

That’s a silly analysis. If you truly think banning all Muslims from entering the US will solve the terror problem, I’m sorry, but I think that’s nutz. That ship has sailed if it ever existed at all. Most of the terrorist attacks we have had here by Muslims are from those who self-radicalized. Some aren’t even practicing Muslims. They operate on the internet and use encrypted cell phones.

There are 3 million Muslims in the US right now, most of them are second and third generation, 25% of them are converts, blacks, Asian, etc. With the exception of some like the Somalis that for some reason hang with their own group and fail to integrate well, my experience is that for the most part they have integrated pretty well, shop keepers, restaurant owners, professionals, etc.

Like any group of 3 million people they are going to have their unemployed, their disaffected, and their downright nutjobs. You’ll find it in any group. Since you don’t accept statistics, there’s no point going into them.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced the spots late Wednesday. It's an almost instant turnaround before polls close Thursday evening.
The Democratic committee said it hopes to target Democrats who were otherwise unlikely to vote in the special election.

The committee said it will spend "the maximum amount of money allowable" behind ads targeting the state's Democrats. The spot includes the audio recording made by reporter Ben Jacobs as Gianforte allegedly slammed him to the ground. Fox News says a crew saw Gianforte grab Jacobs by the neck and slam him to the ground.

Gianforte's campaign says the two fell to the ground together while fighting over a recorder.

    Carrier Jobs

Analysis: Trump said he would save jobs at Carrier. The layoffs start July 20

...About 1,400 positions were on the chopping block, per company estimates. Over the last year, Trump has claimed he could maintain at least 1,100 of those jobs in the U.S. But on Monday, the company gave official notice to Indiana officials that it would start laying off workers at the factory on July 20 and keep slashing staff until approximately 800 factory employees remain.

    =====================

United Technologies, Carrier’s parent company, agreed to spare some of the positions in exchange for $ 7 million in state tax credits. (If the company outsourced any of those jobs over the next ten years, it would have to pay back the money, according to the Indiana Economic Development Council.)
A celebratory Trump visited the factory in December and announced that, thanks to his negotiating, more than 1,100 of the jobs would stay in the heartland.

“Carrier stepped it up, and now they’re keeping over 1,100 people,” Trump told an audience of cheering factory workers.

He said those numbers could go even higher, noting that United Technologies had agreed to invest roughly $16 million into updating the plant.

“And by the way, that number is going to go up substantially as they expand this area, this plant,” Trump said. “The 1,100 is going to be a minimum number.”

But later that month, Greg Hayes, chief executive of United Technologies, admitted that the $16 million investment would go toward automation.

“What that ultimately means is there will be fewer jobs," he told CNBC's Jim Cramer...

After a good night’s sleep, I was going to apologize for my mild hyperbole yesterday in describing the Twins as somewhat mentally challenged. Then I see this this morning from Doug.

I didn't paint her as anything. I put down the facts.

    ===

Leaving out Bill after I pointed out the FACT that he repeatedly got paid off while she was in office.

You make post after post as if it never happened.

...because it suits your "fact based" argument.

I had always thought of Bob as the dumber of the two but now I must admit Doug wins the race in the ‘Dumberer and Dumbest Sweepstakes’.

I put up a post pointing out the hypocrisy of Trump. One of the three examples I gave pointed out the selective umbrage Trump has shown towards Saudi Arabia. I put up his own quotes demanding Hillary return up to $25 million the Clinton Foundation received in donations from SA and stating that SA is an evil country that discriminates against women and gays and even throws gays off of high buildings; yet, when his own daughter solicits $100 million from that same evil country for a charity she inspired and fronts, Trump says nothing, nada, zip. Suddenly Saudi Arabia is great. The women and gays? What women and gays?

I call that hypocrisy. Doug calls it ‘fake news’ and demands an apology for the ‘libel’ of Ivanka Trump. He completely ignores the point of the post, Trump’s hypocrisy. He offers no proof that Ivanka was libeled. Yet, he goes on for a dozen posts or more offering up inane arguments which I quickly beat down sometimes using third party documentations and fact checks.

At the point I thought he was done with his foolishness, he reaches down deep into his reserve of Dumbness and says, ‘What about Bill Clinton?’

What the fuck does Bill Clinton have to do with Trump’s hypocrisy on Saudi Arabia or the fact that Ivanka solicited $100 million from the ‘evil empire’?

It was at that point I indulged in some mild hyperbole regarding the Twins physical lack of brain matter. I included Bob only because he seemed to be agreeing with Doug.

I shouldn’t have used the hyperbole but I’m sure you can understand my frustration.

I mean these guys are Dumb. Really Dumb. I mean the Dumbest.

You could call them Dumberer and Dumbest. They are the Face of Dumbness, the Alpha and Omega of Dumbness, Dumbness personified. They are truly alpha-dumb.

It wears you down and leaves you shocked. It’s like suddenly staring into the face of the blind idiot god Cthulhu from the Lovelace mythos (in this case Twin blind idiot gods) and having them gazing back at you through opaque, sightless eyes from that dark space under the stairs.

Down right scary how Dumb they are.

CBO: Republican health care bill raises premiums for older, poor Americans by as much as 850%

    © Provided by Vox.com

The American Health Care Act would make a low-income 64-year-old in the individual market pay more than half his income for health insurance.

Republicans’ American Health Care Act would be devastating to older Americans who rely on the individual insurance market, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office.

The CBO found that the revised Republican bill does bring down overall premiums in the individual market by anywhere from 4 to 20 percent by 2026 compared with what they would be under current law.

The variation depends on whether a state accepts waivers under the American Health Care Act, which would allow insurers to offer much skimpier health plans at lower premiums. States that take up such waivers would see lower premiums, although the health plans would provide fewer benefits. States that don’t adopt such waivers would have higher premiums, but there healthcare plans would offer more benefits -- a tradeoff.

    L'affaire Comey

Report: Possibly fake Russian document affected FBI's investigation into Clinton

A disputed Russian intelligence document obtained by the FBI during the 2016 election influenced the Bureau's then-director, James Comey, to personally announce the end of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server last summer, the Washington Post reports. The existence of the document has been confirmed by CBS News.

Comey's July 2016 announcement that the FBI would not recommend that charges be brought against Clinton while still criticizing her for maintaining a private email server was characterized as unprecedented at the time. Typically, when an FBI investigation ends without charges, the Bureau and the Department of Justice (DOJ) do not comment on the matter.

But Comey felt that it was best for him to personally explain the Bureau's reasoning to reporters. And part of the reason for that decision, current and former officials told the Post, is the existence of a document alleging that then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch had assured the Clinton campaign that she would limit how far the FBI investigation into the email server went.

The FBI, however, deemed the document -- supposedly an analysis conducted by Russian intelligence -- to be bad intelligence. The Americans mentioned in the document insisted they did not know each other and had never spoken, and there was no evidence to back up its veracity. The person who had supplied the document, officials told the Post, had provided intelligence in the past that the Bureau could not corroborate.

The documented summarized an alleged email from then-Democratic National Committee chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida, to Leonard Benardo, an official at an organization founded by left-wing billionaire George Soros. In this email, according to the document, Wasserman Schultz said to Benardo that Lynch had told a Clinton campaign staffer, Amanda Renteria, that she would limit the FBI's investigation into the email server.

The FBI never obtained the email in question, was unsure that it ever existed, and never interviewed anyone mentioned in the document.  Additionally, both Wasserman Schultz and the Soros affiliate she was alleged to have talked with told the Post that they did not know each other nor have they ever communicated.

Comey's fear, according to official who talked to the Post, was that the document would leak, which could call into question the Bureau's impartiality in the case. The possibility of such a leak factored in to his decision to publicly announce the end of the Clinton investigation without discussing it with the Department of Justice...

  9. How the Comey Affair Will Be a Decisive Victory for the President

    By Conrad Black| May 24th, 2017

If played correctly, the psychotic explosion of the Democrats and their allies in the jackal press over the Comey dismissal and his alleged memo can become a decisive victory for the president. The Mueller nomination, a hybrid arrangement that will be a supplementary investigation with the FBI, will push the question into a cul-de-sac that will entirely clear the president.

It need hardly here be emphasized that the efforts to represent the firing of Comey as an excess of authority, an attempt to discourage an exposé of a scandal between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, a replication of any aspect of the Watergate affair, now enriched by the garbled claim of an interference with the Flynn investigation: all of this is part of a madness that has gripped the American political class as it sinks beneath the brackish, fecal waters of the swamp it has filled and wallowed in happily for twenty years.

I will not replicate the presumptuous error of the Trump-haters and mind-read Comey. Whatever his motives and delusions, in July, he seized upon the compromising misconduct of the attorney general, Loretta Lynch in meeting with President Clinton to make the decision not to leave it to the equally publicity-eager deputy attorney general Sally Yates and not any prosecutor, that Mrs. Clinton was guilty of felonies but should not be prosecuted. When the election campaign was down to its last ten days, a mass of improperly withheld and misdirected emails came to the FBI director’s attention and he felt, presumably with some agitation percolating beneath him in the Bureau, that he must refer to them publicly. With haste that cast doubt on the FBI’s thoroughness, he then assured the country that the tens of thousands of emails confirmed his original judgment, that Mrs. Clinton should not be charged. This judgment was beyond his authority to make and an outrage to make publicly, and if he was determined to make it, he should not have announced the reopening of the email question for a few days before shutting it down again.

There is no question that he told President Trump that on the basis of all evidence, Trump was not suspected of wrongdoing in his campaign’s relations with the Russian government, and Senator Feinstein, a militant Trump opponent, confirms that Comey had said this to her and the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, Charles Grassley. The same person who rushed before the cameras to convict but excuse from charges Mrs. Clinton, could express privately the innocence of Mr. Trump, but could give no hint of it publicly, even though he knew perfectly well that the continuing confected cloud of the Russian collusion allegation seriously impeded the ability of the administration to govern. One could ransack the annals of Hollywood and of pulp fiction to find a more deserving candidate for summary dismissal than this mountebank who apparently fancied himself an electoral college of one to determine who was a suitable occupant of the presidency. There are reasonable questions about the firing of General Douglas MacArthur by President Truman, and about the firing of Archibald Cox and Elliott Richardson by President Nixon, but there are none about Comey.

    1. The Trump-haters, somewhat muted after the passage of the health care reform by the House of Representatives, on the Comey news, ricocheted off the walls and ceilings in affected outrage and jubilation, in the hyperbole of their sanctimony. And the leaked, excerpted, alleged Flynn memo to Comey’s file had them drinking champagne from fire hoses and ululating about impeachment. Such a thread does not constitute conviction beyond a reasonable doubt of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Some strange chord has been severed that separates the rabid media from their senses.

At least Nancy Pelosi has tried to tune down poor hopeless Chuck Schumer’s Uriah Heep impeachment routine: what she and most of the Democrats want is Trump immobilized, so the country continues to wallow in political dysfunctionalism and flat-line economically, so they can regain the Congress, torment the president with a pseudo-judicial process, and go back to swimming in their swamp like happy, fat alligators.

Trump had installed a competent cabinet and an irreproachable Supreme Court nominee and had started the repeal of the Obamacare fiasco, but now the roll-back of the global warming and Dodd-Frank regulatory shakedowns suddenly seemed vulnerable, at least to his haters, like a delayed act of deliverance from a perverted providence. From every furrowed leftist and defected neocon highbrow, there debouched a cuckoo bird, flapping and gibbering. The rabid Trump-haters of right and left swarmed our screens. Woodward and Bernstein, epochal myth-makers, ever-persisting geriatric greasers 45 years after Watergate, exhumed themselves to warn of the president’s turpitude. Eliot Cohen, perhaps the most overrated historian in America, rushed into print denouncing the president for giving secrets to the Russian foreign minister last week, simultaneously with the absolute assurance of the national security adviser, General McMaster, that the assertion was completely false. The Times’ principal token of intermittent balance, Ross Douthat, called for removal of the president from office for mental incompetence.

Almost all of it is infantilist drivel and hypocrisy: the Golden Shower, collusion with the Kremlin to rig the election, tampering with justice according to a self-addressed Comey memo in which Trump wishes Flynn well. These are puny, sickly, pimply, conjurations of a constitutional argument-the contemptible last stand of the media swamp-reptiles. Bring it on.

In 48 years as the country’s chief investigator, J. Edgar Hoover never held press conferences with political overtones as Comey routinely did, or referred publicly to investigations before handing them over to the Justice Department.

    2. The president made it clear that he seeks thoroughness even more than haste in concluding the investigation of the Russian collusion charges and innuendoes, and Mueller’s arrival proves it. The New York Times’ claim that Trump had upheld funding for the Russian investigation was debunked by the acting FBI director, Comey loyalist and Democrat Andrew McCabe. McCabe also debunked the theory that a special prosecutor was needed, as the FBI had not been interfered with and would carry out the investigation scrupulously and thoroughly. Rod Rosenstein debunked the Times-Post story that he (Rosenstein) had threatened to resign. Despite this, the unimaginably ludicrous Chuck Schumer still demanded a special prosecutor, now with a foregone conclusion of the ultimate result, as the price for approving any nominee for FBI director, (even if it were Hillary Clinton). Mueller’s appointment cuts the Democrats off at the ankles.

This time, the Democrats are headed for the last round-up. Trump should strengthen the White House staff. He will propose an FBI nominee of unquestionable stature and presumably secure confirmation. While Mueller and McCabe sort out the facts, the Supreme Court will toss out the attention-seeking antics of the West Coast flake-judges who gained their fleeting moment of gimcrack fame by challenging the president’s clear authority over immigration. The Democrats’ policy of obstruction will come crashing to ground, and the commentariat and White House press corps who are the real opposition now, will be afflicted by chronic glottal stops. The president will put through his health care and tax reforms and drive on. And the honeymoon to which all incoming holders of great office are entitled, will finally begin.

While the Clintons and Obamas wait to see if they are in danger of indictment, with no one of either family to lead the Democrats for the first time in 25 years, the once loyal opposition have sown and they shall reap. The president has evident draw-backs, but he is trying to do what he was elected to do. Trump’s enemies right now are an abominable mélange of snobbery, hypocrisy, and psychopathic partisanship. They will be weighed in the balance and they will be found wanting.

Drive them out: Time to deport known American jihadis
    By Karin McQuillan

The children of Manchester were killed by a jihadi known to authorities. So were the victims of 12 out of the 14 Islamic terror attacks in America under Obama's watchful eye. That must end. Our terror watch list must become a terror deportation list.

President Trump went to the very heart of Islam, Saudi Arabia, and told the assembled leaders of the Muslim world they must drive the jihadis out of their mosques, out of their communities, out of their country, and out of this Earth.

The Saudis are responsible for their country. We are responsible for America. Let us start right here and right now. We need to drive all those who preach jihad out of our American mosques, community, and country.

Preachers in America are not allowed to encourage murder or the overthrow of our government. It is immoral and illegal to allow the preaching of jihad in our mosques. Yet time after time, whenever we have an Islamic atrocity in our country, we discover that the killer attended a radical mosque. One estimate is that half of the mosques in our country were founded by radical Muslim Brotherhood members.

In 2012, then-president of France Nicolas Sarkozy banned radical imams from entering France. In 2016, France closed down a handful of radical mosques where authorities found terrorist weapon caches. We should do that and more. We should close all radical mosques. Especially for those who believe that Islam is a religion of peace, it is clear that these are not true religious institutions, but centers promoting Muslim supremacy, violence, and the suppression of other religions.

Make no mistake: Islamism in America reaches far beyond mosque walls. We have a pro-jihadi curriculum in our schools, jihadi preachers and speakers in our mosques and prisons, jihadi bureaucrats and support staff in our government, jihadi judges in our courts (one appointed by New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie), and jihadis serving on oversight committees of police departments, the FBI, and Homeland Security.

President Trump is asking the Muslim leaders across the globe to step up. We have to step up at home. We have to step up at every level. We need to support courageous citizen activists like Pamela Geller and Brigitte Gabrielle, the remarkable Charles Jacobs, and Steven Emerson. These heroic Americans have been carrying the burden to fight jihad. They have been doing it almost alone for years. We need an all-out effort by city and state governments; Congress and every federal department; and yes, the president, who has to get moving. They are supposed to protect us from organized killers.

Defending ourselves from jihadi murderers is impossible, we are told by multiculturalists, without doing irreparable damage to freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Wrong. Our freedom of religion and speech will be impossible unless we stop the immigration of adherents of sharia and drive out American jihadis. Our Constitution does not require us to adopt as fellow citizens people who hate our constitutional freedoms, let alone those who are crazed with an evil piety to maim and kill infidels. Free speech has never protected those organizing violence.

Naturalized citizens who break their oath of citizenship can have their citizenship revoked. Their American-born children and other American Muslims involved with terror supporting-Islamist groups should be declared enemy combatants, and appropriate action taken.

    1. Naturalization Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America

      Oath

I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.

The multiculturalists who dominate our media, our universities, and the Democratic Party are in deep moral confusion. Their imperative is to protect their ideals. Progressives would sacrifice all of us to the idol of their delusions.

They turn their faces away as innocents in the Middle East and Africa are kidnapped, burned alive, beheaded, raped, and tortured. They are sad but willing to do nothing, as innocent Christians and Jews in America and Europe are targeted on purpose, blown up, run over, and shot.

The multiculturalists enjoy that hit of moral superiority each time they preach to us that we must tolerate Islam – if beautiful toleration requires our lives be snuffed out, they are willing to accept that price. Terrorism, President Obama lectured us, is not an existential threat. It was never a serious problem to him.

It is a serious problem to us. We are not willing to sacrifice a single American life. Toleration of evil is not good. We are protecting our freedoms, not harming them, when we take up the burden of fighting jihad in America. It is moral to drive Islamists out of our country.

The answer to known wolves (a phrase coined by Patrick Poole) is not a terror watch list, but swift deportation.

In France, within hours, national security risks are put on a plane to their countries of origin. Appeals may follow from the home country.

In the U.K., the home secretary has broad power to deport any foreign national whose removal would be "conducive to the public good." Appeals go to a special court, not to the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.

In Ireland, the minister of justice "would make no apology" for deporting people who support Islamic extremism without taking the case to court.

In America, it seems we treat national security threats as not very different from minor immigration violations. We also deport national security risks, but we do it rarely and very slowly. Our laws are not well designed for the 21st-century reality of the jihadi threat.

      Delete
  13. The idea that we are helpless to stop Islamist murderers before they act is a purposeful lie, pushed by progressives and the D.C. swamp because they wish to do nothing, says Andrew McCarthy:

Virtually every time a terror attack has occurred, the actor initially portrayed as a solo plotter lurking under the government's radar turns out to be – after not much digging – an already known (sometimes even, notorious) Islamic extremist.

As amply demonstrated by Poole's reporting, catalogued here by PJ Media, "lone wolves" – virtually every single one – end up having actually had extensive connections to other Islamic extremists, radical mosques, and (on not rare occasions) jihadist training facilities. There are, and can be, no lone wolves. The very concept is inane, and only stems from a willfully blind aversion to the ideological foundation of jihadist terror: Islamic supremacism.

The global, scripturally rooted movement to impose sharia – in the West, to incrementally supersede our culture of reason, liberty, and equality with the repressive, discriminatory norms of classical Islamic law – is a pack. The wolves are members of the pack, and that's why they are the antithesis of "lone" actors. And, indeed, they always turn out to be "known" precisely because their association with the pack, with components of the global movement, is what ought to have alerted us to the danger they portended before they struck.

    Patrick Poole elaborates:

As I've noted here at PJ Media going back to October 2014, the "lone wolf" canard was spun by the Obama administration to exonerate themselves whenever a terror attack occurred. ...

The United States might not be suffering from terror – AT ALL – if our law enforcement agents had not been hamstrung by the Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton "politically correct" approach to monitoring Muslim suspects.

They placed the sensitivities of Muslim Americans ahead of public safety. Not their rights – law enforcement already operates knowing that rights must be respected to successfully win a later prosecution in court.

Not their rights. Just their sensitivities.

We KNEW about virtually EVERY terrorist. But FAILED TO ACT IN TIME on virtually every terrorist.

We are done with tolerating Islamist murderers in our midst. We agree with President Trump that Islamic extremism is evil and must be driven out of our mosques, our communities, and our country. Start driving, Mr. President.

Harvard scientist believes he may have figured out how to stop the aging process
POSTED AT 12:01 PM ON MAY 25, 2017 BY JAZZ SHAW

So who’s up for being immortal?

This may not quite live up to that sort of expectation, but it would be a profound shift in how we view the human condition if somebody could actually stop or even reverse the aging process. One researcher at Harvard thinks he may have struck upon the answer and claims to have found a way to halt the aging process in mice. (CBS Philadelphia)

Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School says he’s found a molecule that has proven to reverse aging in mice.

“They drink it and we see that within a week they start to run further,” said Sinclair. “And then we look at their organs and those are rejuvenated as well.”

It’s all about DNA. With young, healthy runners, for example, their DNA has not yet been damaged by the aging process.

Now, I’m not a doctor and I don’t even play one on TV, so most of this is well beyond my depth. But it’s truly exciting and yet still worrying at the same time. The research team was nice enough to translate their explanation largely into layman’s terms and it still sounds incredibly complicated. The short version of the story is that we allegedly have a protein in our systems when we’re young which repairs any damage to our DNA. But as we get older, a new protein shows up which blocks the original one, leading to accumulating damage to the DNA which shows up as all the usual infirmities associated with getting old. David Sinclair believes he’s found a molecule which “gets between” those two proteins, allowing the DNA repair process to resume.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So far he’s only had it working in mice and I’m not sure how excited any of us will be about immortal rodents. But what if he gets it to work in human beings? How long might you live if you never suffered the detrimental effects of aging? Hundreds of years? And perhaps more to the point… would you want to? I suppose one of the first questions to ask would be if this DNA repair would also curb the seemingly inevitable breakdown in brain functions which most people experience as they age. Having a vigorous and healthy body for an extra hundred years while being completely senile or lost in dementia doesn’t sound like much of a bargain. It would also likely bankrupt most families if they had to continue providing extended care to relatives who were unable to take care of themselves for decades on end.

But even if you retained your senses and were healthy and mobile, I find myself wondering how long most of us would really want to go on living. Surely there comes a point where you simply grow tired of existing just to hang on to that spark of life. We’d also be immediately wrestling with the issues which would come from a sudden surge in population as people failed to depart this world while new babies kept arriving. You wouldn’t be retiring at age 60 anymore because our entitlement programs would completely collapse in a single generation.

One more thing to consider is how much such a treatment will wind up costing. If you can give to pretty much everyone, that’s fine. But what if it’s only available to the extremely wealthy? There have been movies made about that scenario and the peasants would grow pretty restless immediately if only the elites were living for centuries while everyone else continued to age and die off.

Plenty to consider here. It’s obviously a spectacular breakthrough in the medical field if this turns out to be viable, but it might also open up a very ugly new can of worms.

A farmer faces trial in federal court this summer and a $2.8 million fine for failing to get a permit to plow his field and plant wheat in Tehama County.

A lawyer for Duarte Nursery said the case is important because it could set a precedent requiring other farmers to obtain costly, time-consuming permits just to plow their fields....

  25. Deputies: Semi-Truck Driver Crashes Through Doors at Moonlite Bunny Ranch

    Posted: May 25, 2017 5:49 AM PDT

    By Ky SissonCONNECT
    5/25 - 8:55am Cut-In: Brothel Truck Crash

    Brian Brandt

The entrance of the Bunny Ranch in Mound House was destroyed after a stolen semi-truck was rammed into the building around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The suspect, 40-year-old Brian Brandt of Reno, was arrested on scene, just after the crash. He's charged with with assault with a deadly weapon, destruction of property of another, and possession of stolen property.

Terrified employees witnessed the 18-wheeler intentionally backed into the entrance of the Bunny Ranch.

"It sounded like a bomb went off in here," said employee, Jenny Jade. "Everything was all shaking."

"The reaction was 'what do we do,'"said owner, Dennis Hof. "We immediately called 911."

Brandt allegedly stole the big rig from his former employer, Central Transport in Sparks. The company tells us he was angry for being fired in February. Managers found the front door of their facility smashed in Thursday morning and a truck stolen.

Hof says he has no connections to Brandt, but believes he wanted to harm his business for the notoriety.

"My guess is he knew it would be worldwide news if he rammed his truck into a brothel with 35 hot girls in it that is world famous."

Hof says the suspect was also wearing full body armor. He posted surveillance video of the crash on his Twitter account, @DennisHof. You can watch it below.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says the incident was isolated, and that there's no threat to the community.

Hof said no one was hurt, including the five employees, 30 female prostitutes and 10 customers in the building.

The front of the building is destroyed, and estimates damages at $400,000.

They don't know right now if alcohol and/or drugs were involved.

“Young people growing up in rural Mexico are getting more education that gives them a ticket to higher paying jobs that demand more skills and provide them with more stable employment than they would get in agriculture. This is a case in which what is good news for Mexico, is bad news for CA farm work,” said Taylor."

You are full of shit Doug and you waste my time.

Ivanka and Jared are key advisors to the Trump. They are two of the most influential advisors on the Trump Team. She was able to convince Trump to put $16 billion into the budget for her causes while he was taking a hatchet to all other discretionary programs except military and security. Impressive. Jared is considered the shadow secretary of state.

The only reason its a World Bank program is because Ivanka pushed it with them. She is also the front man for the program. She wrote a book on Empowerment of Women and the foundation is called the 'Women's Empowerment Fund'. You don't think this whole deal will improve her brand or her book sales. The Saudis weren't the only country contributing, Canada and others were. This at the same time we are arguing trade deals with Canada.

You don't see the possibility of influence peddling with these contributing countries.

Ivanka turned her businesses over to Jared's sister Nicole, that's the same sister who was making money in China touting EB-5 visas where foreigners can buy a guaranteed visa for $500,000 until the press got a hold of the story.

As for Jared, rather than put all his holdings in a regular trust he put them into a family trust. And...

Jared Kushner's family to go into business with Chinese firm linked to Communist regime - and make $400 million on deal for Manhattan tower

Kushner Companies are involved in complicated property deal over 666 Fifth Avenue, 41-floor tower they own in midtown Manhttan

Anbang, Chinese insurer which already owns the Waldorf-Astoria, is involved in deal which will net Kushners $400 million

The planned $4 billion transaction includes terms that some real estate experts consider unusually favorable for the Kushners

And you don't see the opportunity for influence peddling?

      The Clinton Crime Family?

They weren't doing anything the Trump Crime Family hasn't done on an even larger scale.

Are the Clinton's grasping? You bet. Ivanka doesn't have to be. She led the life of a billionaire's daughter and she an her husband have wealth of $750 million.

      Don't waste my time anymore.

Also knowing Comey didn't follow protocol. And never even convened a grand jury. Them allowed the suspects to share lawyers and get stories aligned. I wouldn't be shocked to see Comey as a defendant in the future. Obstruction of justice and witness tampering are obvious areas he may be liable.

  38. Maine next for Convention of States ?

    Dear Member,

Amidst all the talk of budgets and healthcare reform, few politicians are addressing
one of our country's most terrifying problems: the national debt.

Twenty trillion dollars won't just go away. Our leaders in Congress have to make the
tough decisions to rescue our country's sinking finances.

But they clearly don't have the stomach for it. That's why the people and the states
must step in and force the feds to slash the budget and preserve liberty and
    prosperity for future generations.
