A MANIAC IS RUNNING OUR FOREIGN POLICY! (IT'S NOT TRUMP)
If only we were able to deport citizens, we could use Trump's new policy of excluding those who are "hostile" toward our country to get rid of Judge James Robart.
Judge Robart's veto of Trump's travel ban notwithstanding, there is not the slightest question but that the president, in his sole discretion, can choose to admit or exclude any foreigners he likes, based on "the interests of the United States.”
The Clinton administration used the executive branch's broad power over immigration to send a 6-year-old boy back to a communist dictatorship. The courts were completely powerless to stop him.
As explained by the federal appellate court that ruled on Elian Gonzalez's asylum application: "It is the duty of the Congress and of the executive branch to exercise political will," and "in no context is the executive branch entitled to more deference than in the context of foreign affairs," which includes immigration.
The court acknowledged that Elian might well be subjected to "re-education," "communist indoctrination" and "political manipulation." (Then again, so would enrolling him at Sidwell Friends.) It didn't matter! Sending little boys back to communist dictatorships was the policy of the Clinton administration.
The Obama administration's immigration policy was to ensure that millions of poverty-stricken foreigners would come here and help turn our country into a Mexican version of Pakistan.
When Arizona merely tried to enforce the federal immigration laws being ignored by the Obama administration, the entire media erupted in rage at this incursion into the majestic power of the president over immigration. They said it was like living in Nazi Germany!
The most reviled section of the act, melodramatically called the "Papers Please" law, was upheld by the Supreme Court. But the other parts, allowing state officials to enforce federal immigration laws, were ruled unconstitutional. A president's policy choice to ignore immigration laws supersedes a state's right to enforce them.
The court conceded that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens were arrested in Arizona each year, that they were responsible for "a disproportionate share of serious crime," and that illegals constituted nearly 6 percent of Arizona's population.
But Arizona was powerless to enforce laws on the books -- if those laws happened to be about immigration. The president's authority over immigration is absolute and exclusive, as part of his authority over foreign policy.
To review:
-- When the president's immigration policy is to promote international communism: The president wins.
-- When the president's immigration policy is to transform America into a different country: The president wins.
-- But when the president's immigration policy is to protect Americans: Some piss-ant judge announces that his authority exceeds that of the president.
This is exactly what I warned you about in Adios, America: The Left's Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole. Nothing Trump does will be met with such massive resistance as his immigration policies.
The left used to attack America by spying for Stalin, aiding our enemies, murdering cops and blowing up buildings. But, then liberals realized, it's so much more effective to just do away with America altogether!
Teddy Kennedy gave them their chance with the 1965 immigration act. Since then, we've been taking in more than a million immigrants a year, 90 percent from comically primitive cultures. They like the welfare, but have very little interest in adopting the rest of our culture.
In many parts of the country, you're already not living in America. Just a few more years, and the transformation will be complete. There will be a North American landmass known as "the United States," but it won't be our country.
The only thing that stands between America and oblivion is a total immigration moratorium. We are well past the point of quick fixes -- as Judge Robart's delusional ruling proves.
The judiciary, both political parties, the media, Hollywood, corporate America and approximately 1 million lobbying groups are all working frantically to bring the hardest cases to our shores. Left-wing traitors, who used to honeymoon in Cuba and fight with peasant revolutionaries in Peru, toil away, late into the night, to ensure that genocidal Rwandans can move to America and immediately start collecting food stamps, Medicaid and Social Security.
No matter how clearly laws are written, government bureaucrats connive to import people from countries that a majority of Americans would not want to visit, much less become. Federal judges issue lunatic rulings to ensure that there will never be a pause in the transformation of America.
Congress could write laws requiring immigrants to pay taxes, learn English, forgo welfare and have good moral character. It could write laws giving the president authority to exclude aliens in the public interest.
Except it already has. Those laws were swept away by INS officials, federal judges and Democratic administrations -- under ferocious pressure from America-hating, left-wing groups.
The country will not be safe until the following outfits are out of business:
The ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project; the National Immigration Forum; the National Immigration Law Center; the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild; the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights; the Office of Migration and Refugee Services; the American Immigration Law Foundation; the American Immigration Lawyers Association; the Border Information and Outreach Service; Atlas: DIY; the Catholic Legal Immigration Network; the Clearinghouse for Immigrant Education; the Farmworker Justice Fund; Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees; the Immigrant Legal Resource Center; the International Center for Migration, Ethnicity and Citizenship; the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force; the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service; the National Association for Bilingual Education; the National Clearinghouse on Agricultural Guest Worker Issues; the National Coalition for Dignity and Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants; the National Coalition for Haitian Rights; the National Council of La Raza; and the National Farm Worker Ministry.
And that's only a small fraction of the anti-American immigration groups assiduously dragging the Third World to our shores -- while you were busy working.
Look at that list -- look at Judge Robart's ruling! -- and ask yourself: Is it possible that anything short of a total immigration moratorium can save this country? Only when there is no immigration to bellyache about will these nuts be forced to think of a new way to destroy America.

Neil Gorsuch, Donald Trump’s nominee to the supreme court, called the president’s tweet attacking the federal district court judge James Robart “disheartening and demoralizing”, his spokesman has confirmed.
Gorsuch criticized Trump in a private meeting with Senator Richard Blumenthal on Wednesday.
Gorsuch’s spokesman, Ron Bonjean, confirmed to the Guardian that the supreme court nominee called Trump’s tweet attacking Robart “disheartening and demoralizing”.

The president slammed Robart’s decision to issue a stay blocking his executive order on residents of seven Muslim-majority countries entering the United States in a series of tweets, including one in which he labeled Robart “a so-called judge”. Robart was nominated to the United States district court for the Western District of Washington by George W Bush in 2003 and was confirmed unanimously by the Senate.
Speaking to reporters after their meeting, Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, said: “[Gorsuch] said very specifically that they were demoralizing and disheartening and he characterized them very specifically that way.”
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), a member of the Senate committee that handles legal confirmation hearings, said that Appellate Court Judge Neil Gorsuch will face tough questions about his background. He said the Colorado-based judge will have "every aspect of his background" investigated by Democratic committee members before his nomination to the nation's highest court moves forward.
Delete"It is important that every aspect of his background be critically and closely scrutinized," Blumenthal told the Wall Street Journal.
Blumenthal singled out a report in the Journal that questioned whether Gorsuch participated in pro-bono legal programs while attending Harvard Law School. The newspaper spoke to six of his contemporaries who did not recall Gorsuch providing free legal services to inmates or the poor as a student. The report failed to note that five of the six sources had donated thousands of dollars to liberal candidates and causes.
===
When Blumenthal first ran for the Senate in 2010, the New York Times revealed that he had lied for years about fighting in the Vietnam War. Blumenthal repeatedly touted his supposed combat experience in speeches to veterans groups and civic organizations, saying he had "served in Vietnam."
"What is striking about Mr. Blumenthal's record is the contrast between the many steps he took that allowed him to avoid Vietnam, and the misleading way he often speaks about that period of his life now, especially when he is speaking at veterans' ceremonies or other patriotic events," the Times reported.

No arrests from 7 nations in travel ban? Judge in Seattle was wrong
ReplyDeleteWASHINGTON (AP) — The federal judge who halted President Donald Trump’s travel ban was wrong in stating that no one from the seven countries targeted in Trump’s order has been arrested for extremism in the United States since the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Just last October, an Iraqi refugee living in Texas pleaded guilty to attempting to provide support to the Islamic State group, accused of taking tactical training and wanting to blow himself up in an act of martyrdom.
In November, a Somali refugee injured 11 in a car-and-knife attack at Ohio State University, and he surely would have been arrested had he not been killed by an officer.
The judge, James Robart, was correct in his larger point that the deadliest and most high-profile terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11 — like the Boston Marathon bombings and the shootings in Orlando, Florida, and San Bernardino, California — were committed either by U.S. citizens or by people from countries other than the seven majority-Muslim nations named in Trump’s order.
But he went a step too far at a hearing in Seattle on Friday.
He asked a Justice Department lawyer how many arrests of foreign nationals from the countries have occurred since 9/11. When the lawyer said she didn’t know, Robart answered his own question: “Let me tell, you, the answer to that is none, as best I can tell.
You’re here arguing on behalf of someone that says we have to protect the United States from these individuals coming from these countries and there’s no support for that.”
All told, Kurzman said, 23 percent of Muslim Americans involved with extremist plots since Sept. 11 had family backgrounds from the seven countries.

TRUMP WAS RIGHT=> CBS Admits They Did Not Cover 24% of 78 Listed Islamist Terror Attacks
ReplyDeleteCBS inadvertently just proved the Trump administration’s accusations of media bias.
CBS News reported:
"The White House prefaced its Monday evening release with a statement saying that, since the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) declared its caliphate in 2014, “There has been a major attack targeting the West executed or inspired by the group more than once every two weeks.”
“Most have not received the media attention they deserved,” the White House added, although many of the attacks were covered by the media.
CBS News covered, in some cases heavily but at least to some extent, more than 74 percent of the attacks on the list."

DeleteCanada: Muslim migrant charged with multiple sexual assaults at waterpark
FEBRUARY 8, 2017 2:59 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER 33 COMMENTS
The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (33:59) The implication there is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.
“Man charged after ‘multiple sexual assaults’ at West Edmonton Mall waterpark,” by Caley Ramsay, Global News, February 8, 2017:
A 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with several sexual assaults that occurred at the West Edmonton Mall World Waterpark over the weekend.
Police were called to the waterpark at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers said a man inappropriately touched multiple teenage girls while they were swimming at the waterpark.
“The girls were very courageous in coming forward and talking to the lifeguard, that’s not always the case,” EPS spokesperson Scott Pattison said.
“It’s very traumatizing and I’m sure it made them feel extremely vulnerable so they deserve our support.”
Police arrested a man on scene and took him into custody.
Soleiman Hajj Soleiman, a Syrian refugee and father of six, has since been charged with six counts of sexual assault and six counts of sexual interference.
The Edmonton Police Service Zebra Child Protection Section has taken over the investigation.
Pattison said police believe there are other complainants and he’s urging them to come forward….

DeleteSomalia – More than 20 people in Minnesota have faced federal charges related to Al Shabaab, an African terror group, with at least 10 more cases related to ISIS. Defendants have usually been detained while awaiting trial, as prosecutors have argued that they remain flight risks and threats to the community. (link)
In November 2016, 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali refugee, plowed his car into a crowd at Ohio State University, and then stabbed people with a butcher knife. He was not arrested, but would have been if a police officer had not shot him dead.
– On November 18, 2013, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Issa Doreh was sentenced to ten years in prison for “conspiracy to provide material support to terrorist, conspiracy to provide material support to foreign terrorist organization, conspiracy to launder monetary instruments, and providing material support to foreign terrorist organization.” Doreh was admitted to the United States as a refugee from Somalia and subsequently obtained a green card and became a citizen. Doreh worked at a money transmitting business that was at the center of the conspiracy, which also involved Ahmed Nasir Taalil Mohamud.
– On January 31, 2014, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Ahmed Nasir Taalil Mohamud was sentenced to six years in prison for conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Mohamud was admitted to the United States as a refugee from Somalia. He worked as a cabdriver in Anaheim, California where he raised money for the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab. According to the Department of Justice, “[t]he United States presented evidence that Nasir . . . conspired to provide money to al Shabaab, a violent and brutal militia group that engages in suicide bombings, targets civilians for assassination, and uses improvised explosive devices.”
– On April 20, 2015, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Abdurahman Yasin Daud was charged (along with six others) with conspiracy and attempt to provide material support to ISIS. Daud, a Somalian refugee who came to the United States as a child, and subsequently obtained a green card. Daud and another individual drove from Minnesota to San Diego to attempt to get passports, cross the border into Mexico, and fly to Syria in to join ISIS.
– On February 5, 2015, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for conspiring to provide material support to Al-Shabaab, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and for making a false statement in his immigration paperwork. Ibrahim is a native of Somalia who came to the United States as a refugee in 2007 at the age of 22 and subsequently obtained a green card. Ibrahim knowingly lied on his citizenship application and previously lied in his request for refugee status, by falsely claiming that he was of a member of the minority Awer clan in Somalia and subject to persecution by the majority Hawiye clan. Ibrahim was actually a member of the Hawiye clan and not subject to persecution. In fact, according to court documents, “Ibrahim’s family was famous . . . [and] [t]hrough his clan lineage, Ibrahim was related to known Somali terrorists[.]” Ibrahim also admitted he lied on his citizenship application by having previously lied on his refugee application by falsely claiming that he had not provided material support to a terrorist group, when he had in fact provided material support in the form of cash to an Al-Shabaab member.
DeleteSyria – An Ohio man traveled to Syria and trained alongside terrorists, then returned to the U.S. with plans to attack a military base or a prison, according to a federal indictment. Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud, a U.S. citizen originally from Somalia, wanted to “kill three or four American soldiers execution style,” according to the indictment. Attacking the prison was part of a backup plan if that didn’t work, the charges said. The indictment also says Mohamud’s brother, Abdifatah Aden, fought with Jabhat al-Nusrah, a State Department-designated terrorist group, until he was killed in battle in Syria in June 2014. (link)
– On January 7, 2016, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab was charged with providing materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements and representations to the United States government. He was separately indicted on March 17, 2016 for attempting to provide material support to acts of violence overseas. Al-Jayab — a Palestinian born in Iraq — was admitted to the United States as a refugee in 2012. According to the criminal complaint, beginning in October of 2012 — the very same month he first arrived in the United States — Al-Jayab began communicating with numerous individuals about his intention to go to Syria and fight for terrorist organizations. In April 2013, Al-Jayab made multiple statements to another individual (later identified as Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan) regarding his experience handling weapons and killing individuals in Syria. In November 2013, just one year after being welcomed to the United States as a refugee, he traveled to Syria and posted on social media that he was fighting with various terrorist organizations, stating “America will not isolate me from my Islamic duty. Only death will do us part.”
– On February 5, 2015, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Nihad Rosic was charged with conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists, providing material support to terrorists, and conspiring to kill and maim persons in a foreign country. Rosic is a native of Bosnia who sources indicate came to the United States as a refugee, obtained a green card, and subsequently applied for and received citizenship. According to the indictment, Rosic sent funds to terrorists abroad, and attempted to travel to Syria to join terrorists in Syria and Iraq. According to press accounts, Rosic was a truck driver and former mixed martial arts fighter who had previously been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after punching a woman in the face while she held a child, and in a separate incident, was charged with assault after allegedly beating his girlfriend with a belt.

– On April 20, 2015, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Guled Ali Omar was charged with conspiracy and attempt to provide material support to ISIS. Omar was born in a Kenyan refugee camp, and sources indicate he came to the United States as a refugee when he was a child, obtained a green card, and subsequently applied for and received citizenship. Omar is the younger brother of another indicted fugitive, Ahmed Ali Omar, who left the United States in 2007 to fight for Al-Shabaab. Another one of his brothers, Mohamed Ali Omar, was convicted in March of 2015 of threatening federal agents when they came to the family’s residence to interview Guled Omar. During a press conference, U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota, Andy Luger, said that Omar “never stopped plotting,” and had previously attempted to leave the United States.
Delete– On January 29, 2015, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, a federal warrant was unsealed for the arrest of Liban Haji Mohamed for allegedly providing material support to Harakat Shabaab Al-Mujahidin, also known as Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaeda. Mohamed is a native of Somalia who sources indicate came to the United States as a refugee, obtained a green card, and subsequently applied for and received citizenship. He is believed to have left the United States on July 5, 2012, with the intent to join Al-Shabaab in East Africa. Mohamed previously lived in the Washington, D.C. area and worked as a cab driver, and is believed to have snuck across the border to Mexico after being placed on the no-fly list. Carl Ghattas, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Washington, D.C. Field Office emphasized the importance of locating Mohamed, “because he has knowledge of the Washington, D.C. area’s infrastructure such as shopping areas, Metro, airports, and government buildings . . . Iraq – The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky — who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq — prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints. (link) An ABC News investigation of the flawed U.S. refugee screening system, which was overhauled two years ago, showed that Alwan was mistakenly allowed into the U.S. and resettled in the leafy southern town of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
– On February 18, 2015, Al-Hazmah Mohammed Jawad was arrested as he attempted to board a flight to Jordan to join and fight with ISIS in Iraq. Jawad was admitted to the United States in 2013 as an Iraqi refugee and he subsequently obtained a green card. Jawad was charged with making a false statement to U.S. government officials. He also stated that he “had been to the shooting range and had been running to get in shape and prepare for his upcoming travels,” and that a uniform was waiting for him in Iraq.

Iran – FBI and DEA agents have disrupted a plot to commit a “significant terrorist act in the United States” tied to Iran, federal officials told ABC News today. The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the U.S. officials. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in an announcement today that the plan was “conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran” by a faction of the government and called it a “flagrant” violation of U.S. and international law. “The U.S. is committed to holding Iran accountable for its actions,” Holder said. Libya – A U.S. citizen was among nine killed when gunmen stormed a luxury hotel in the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Tuesday, a senior State Department official said. The attack on the Corinthia Hotel, which sits along the Mediterranean Sea, triggered an hours-long standoff that ended when two assailants set off a grenade that killed them, officials said. Four foreigners and five guards were killed in the attack. The State Department official didn’t provide additional details. (link) There is no current central government in Libya.
Yemen – Anwar al-Awlaki was an American and Yemeni imam and Islamic lecturer. U.S. government officials allege that he was a senior recruiter and motivator who was involved in planning terrorist operations for the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda (link) al-Awlaki spoke with and preached to three of the alleged 9/11 hijackers who were al-Qaeda members. Awlaki presided at the funeral of the mother of Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist who later e-mailed him extensively in 2008–09 before the Fort Hood shootings. Awlaki was the mastermind behind Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who attempted the 2009 Christmas Day (underwear) bombing of an American airliner.

Tashfeen, why can't you be true
Oh Tashfeen, why can't you be true
You've started back doin' the things you used to do
As I was motivatin' over the hill
I saw Tashfeen in a Coup de Ville
A Cadillac arollin' on the open road
Nothin' will outrun my V8 Ford
The Cadillac doin' about ninety-five
Bumper to bumper, rollin' side by side
Tashfeen
Why can't you be true
Oh Tashfeen, why can't you be true
You've started back doin' the things you used to do
The Cadillac pulled up ahead of the Ford
The Ford got hot and wouldn't do no more
It then got cloudy and started to rain
I honked my horn for a passin' lane
The rainwater blowin' all under my hood
I knew that I was doin' my motor good
Maybellene
Why can't you be true
Oh Tashfeen, why can't you be true
You've started back doin' the things you used to do
Oh, Tashfeen
The heat went down, the motor cooled
And that's when I heard that highway sound
The Cadillac asittin' like a ton of lead
A hundred and ten half a mile ahead
The Cadillac lookin' like it's sittin' still
And I caught Tashfeen at the top of the hill
Tashfeen
Why can't you be true
Oh Tashfeen, why can't you be true
You've started back doin' the things you used to do
Oh, Tashfeen
Why can't you be true
Oh Tashfeen, why can't you be true

ReplyDeleteMother calls Trump for lying about her daughter's death on his list of 'Underreported Terrorist Events'
February 7 at 7:04 PM
Her daughter had not yet been buried, nor had the newspapers finished turning up bloody details of her death, before Rosie Ayliffe began to write about her child's murderer.
“Grief is a funny thing,” she wrote in the Independent last August — five days after a man chased her 21-year-old daughter through a hostel, stabbed her to death and killed another backpacker who tried to protect her. “I haven't seen Mia for nearly a year, and so in my head she's still alive, well and living in Australia.”
She was careful, even then, to write accurately about the accused killer. Smail Ayad had yelled “Allahu akbar” during the attack, the Guardian reported, but he had also rambled incoherently, stabbed a dog and “was apparently infatuated with” her daughter.
“Much nonsense is being spoken in the press about her alleged killer,” Ayliffe wrote. He “is not an Islamic fundamentalist, he has never set foot in a mosque.”
Likewise, police ruled out terrorism, and the Ayad murder case was transferred to a mental-health court.
The sensational stories eventually faded. The parents of Mia Ayliffe-Chung and Tom Jackson mourned and tried to move on.
Months went by.
Then, on Tuesday, both families saw their children's murders on a White House list of terrorist attacks that hadn't gotten enough attention, and Ayliffe said she felt she needed to set down words again.
“My daughter's death will not be used to further this insane persecution of innocent people,” she wrote in an open letter to President Trump.
Her words were joined by the parents of the attack's second victim, Jackson, who expressed their disbelief in an email to the White House and elsewhere.
“I’m pretty sure he and his advisors know full well — or could very easily verify — that Tom and Mia died not as the result of an act of terror but rather through the actions of a disturbed individual,” Les Jackson wrote on Facebook.
“Of course, that doesn’t suit his agenda.”
“The fact anyone would want to make something political out of Tom dying is just beyond me,” Jackson told The Washington Post. “We're still struggling to come to terms with it and probably never will. This has just brought the whole experience of last summer crashing about us.”

DeleteThe two travelers had barely known each other — or their accused killer — when they intersected last August in a remote Australian hostel where backpackers stopped to raise funds for their travels.
Mia had just started working on a farm — picking up loose rocks, calling her family in England often, “whether it was because she was bored or lonely,” Ayliffe wrote in the Independent.
“Skills achieved; the ability to tell the difference between a rock and a clump of mud and throwing stones really far,” her daughter wrote in one of her last Facebook posts, according to the Guardian.
She had only just met Jackson, another English traveler who had been in the hostel for a few months — determined to see Australia after visiting much of the rest of the world, his father said.
Ayad was staying in the same hostel, writing Facebook posts of a different sort:
“I am victim of an international economic conspiracy. I think that I am going to die,” Ayad once wrote, according to Yahoo News. “Those who love me, follow me.”
The 29-year-old French national was also telling people in the hostel that he planned to marry Mia, the Guardian reported.
Police said they had no romantic relationship before the night of Aug. 23, when others in the hostel said Ayad got a kitchen knife.
“He roused Ayliffe-Chung from her bed and hauled her on to a balcony,” the Guardian reported.
She broke away, wounded, and scrambled through the building, according to the news outlet. Witnesses heard Ayad yelling incoherently as he chased her — “Allahu akbar” among other exclamations — then saw him dive head first from a stairwell, killing a dog and finally cornering his victim in a bathroom.
Jackson tried to help her. They were both stabbed many times. She would die in the hostel, and he a few days later in a hospital.
Early news reports made much of two words spoken during that night's horror.
“He said 'Allahu akbar.' It's a bit like me saying I'm Jesus Christ,” Les Jackson said. “It was initially reported it could be a terrorist attack, but we never took that seriously and it was quickly disproved.”
Ayliffe said she felt the same. In her first days of grief, she wrote in the Independent about “the TV engineer who visited yesterday [and] said, 'Well we know what that was about, it was that Moslemic terrorism!' Thanks for clarifying.”
Investigators ruled out the possibility.
“Queensland Police, the Australian Federal Police and the Joint Counter Terrorism Unit … investigated any links between Ayad and radical organisations, and they did not find any evidence of radicalisation,” the Townsville Bulletin reported.
When she planned her daughter's funeral, Ayliffe included an Islamic prayer in the schedule — to oppose what she called “the misrepresentation of Mia’s death in the media as an act of terrorism.”
It seemed to work. British and Australian stories about the murders stopped focusing on “Allahu akbar,” reporting instead on Ayad's preliminary diagnosis of schizophrenia after his arrest and his transfer to a mental-health court.
{...}
Delete{...}
Ayliffe's writings moved to other topics — mainly her concerns that backpackers such as her daughter were being exploited for labor.
“It was gone,” Les Jackson said of old terrorism suspicions. “Anyone with a brain knew.”
Until this week, when Alyiffe sent him a report from the United States — from the White House.
President Trump lashed out at the media for terrorist attacks that he said are "not even being reported," and the White House followed up by releasing a list of 78 terrorist attacks that it says are "under reported." Here's a look at what's on the list, and what's not. (Jenny Starrs/The Washington Post)
On Monday, Trump accused “the very, very dishonest press” of covering up terrorist attacks around the world. His staff promised to release a list of them.
What the White House came up with was full of typos and questionable examples of “under reported” terrorism. It cited 78 cases, including “two killed and one wounded in a knife attack at a hostel frequented by Westerners” in Queensland, Australia.
And there was the accused killer's name — labeled a terrorist, once again.
“I just can't believe it,” Les Jackson told The Post. “There's a lot of bile, there's a lot of hate — basically, there's a lot of bad stuff going on in the world at the moment.”
“We can do without this type of nonsense,” he said, then broke away from the interview until his wife could calm him down.
Sandra Jackson said she'd already consoled Tom's sister about the White House list — and emailed her displeasure to the president.
Ayliffe, as she'd done immediately after her daughter's death, shared her reaction with the world.
“The circumstances of Mia and Tom's deaths prove that those with the strength of character to travel the world and learn about other cultures should be cherished as brave, resilient characters,” she wrote in her open letter to Trump.
When she was done, and reporters began to call again, she set to writing another essay for another magazine.
She shared her draft with The Post.
“Our children’s deaths were ugly, and brutal, and must have been utterly terrifying, and I find my mind attempting to recreate those events on a regular basis,” Ayliffe wrote Tuesday.
“If I can find the strength to do this, surely some White House minion with a list to compile could take the trouble to get his facts right.”
.
I'm sure Trump knew all the details, and insisted on lying, nonetheless, to carry on his "insane persecution of innocent people."

ReplyDeleteTashfeen Malik returned to Pakistan to study pharmacology at Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan, beginning the program in 2007 and graduating in 2012.[37][36][38] Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Mansour Al-Turki denied reports that Malik grew up in his country, saying that she only visited Saudi Arabia for a few weeks in 2008 and again in 2013.[39]
ReplyDeleteThe city of Multan has been linked to jihadist activity.[40]
While in Multan, Malik attended the local center of the Al-Huda International Seminary, a women-only religious academy network with seminaries across Pakistan and branches in the U.S. and Canada that was founded in 1994.[38][40][41] The school is aligned with the Wahhabi form of Sunni Islam.[41] According to school records, Malik enrolled in an eighteen-month Quranic studies course with Al-Huda on April 17, 2013, and left on May 3, 2014, telling administrators that she was leaving to get married. Malik expressed an interest in completing the course by correspondence, but never did so.[38]
According to experts, Al-Huda "draws much of its support from women from educated, relatively affluent backgrounds."[38] Faiza Mushtaq, a Pakistani scholar that studied the organization, said that "these Al-Huda classes is teaching these urban, educated, upper-middle-class women a very conservative interpretation of Islam that makes them very judgmental about others around them." According to the Los Angeles Times, Al-Huda seminaries promote anti-Western views and hard-line practices in a fashion that "could encourage some adherents to lash out against non-believers."[42] The New York Times reported that the institute "teaches a strict literalist interpretation of the Quran, although it does not advocate violent jihad."[43] An Al-Huda administrator from the head office in Islamabad said that terrorism "is against the teachings of Islam" and that the school's curriculum did not endorse violence.[42]

The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy
Deleten The Vision of the Anointed, the distinguished economist and social theorist Thomas Sowell makes an important contribution to classical-liberal and conservative thought by scrutinizing the ways in which a self-consciously elite, or “anointed,” group uses ideas to maintain its power in American political life.
Sowell regards American political discourse as dominated by people who are sure that they know what is good for society and who think that the good must be attained by expanded government action.
This modern-liberal elite exerts its influence through institutions that live by words: the universities and public schools, the media, the liberal clergy, the bar and bench. Its dominance results from its command of the information that words convey and the attitudes that words inspire.
People who live by words should live also by arguments, butas Sowell richly documentsthe modern-liberal elite is not so good at arguing as it is at finding substitutes for argument. Sowell analyzes the major substitutes.
http://www.independent.org/publications/tir/article.asp?a=484
"...If even these methods fail to win you over, attention will be redirected from the political issue to your own failure of imagination or morality. It will be insinuated that people like you are simplistic or perversely opposed to change, lacking in compassion and allied with the “forces of greed.” (As Sowell observes, it is always the payers rather than the spenders of taxes who are considered vulnerable to the charge of greed.)"
Trump should redeploy McChord Air Force Base in Washington State to be the national center for refugee and illegal entry and processing. Add some rehab centers for criminal illegals.
