COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

I was not masochistic enough to endure Obama’s and The US Congressional Jackass Show. Here is Rand Paul’s State of the Union:

  1. I want to know who appointed Rand Paul as the Chairman of the Tea Party?

Far as I'm concerned it is Sarah, and always will be.

  3. State of the Union: Horrible
    Jerry Philipson

President Obama is giving the annual State Of The Union Speech tonight.

    No need to listen though.

The state of the union is clear for all to see.

    It is horrible.

    It is deplorable.

    It is disgraceful.

    It is vulnerable.

    It is battered.

    It is essentially bankrupt.

    It is, in short, lousy.

That's the state of the union, no matter what Obama might say to the contrary.

Its also his fault, no matter what he might say about that either.

Former FBI agent says John Brennan converted to Islam in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s

That would certainly explain his troublesome friendliness toward Muslim Brotherhood groups. "Barack Obama's choice for CIA chief 'converted to Islam' former FBI agent claims," by Kerry Mcdermott for the Daily Mail, February 12 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The incoming head of the CIA converted to Islam while working as a station chief in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, a former FBI agent has claimed.

John Guandolo, who retired from the FBI in 2008, said in a radio interview that John Brennan - who has been nominated by Barack Obama as the new director of the CIA - visited the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina accompanied by Saudi officials who may have persuaded him to convert.

Mr Guandolo's tale echoes elements of the plot of hit show Homeland, in which U.S. Marine Nick Brody converts to Islam while being held prisoner by al-Qaeda, only to begin working for the CIA after his release.

Mr Guandolo told the Trento Radio Show via Skype that Mr Brennan visited the holy sites during the Hajj season - in sees hundreds of thousands of Muslims converge on the cities to perform a series of rituals - while serving as CIA station chief in Riyadh between 1996 and 1999, a report on Al Arabiya News said.

Non-Muslims are prohibited from entering Mecca, and are not permitted to enter the city centre, or sacred core, of Medina.

The ex-FBI agent told the radio station Mr Brennan was 'unfit' to take charge of the CIA, and claimed U.S. government officials based in Saudi Arabia during that period 'were direct witnesses to his growing relationships with individuals who work with the Saudi government and they witnessed his conversion to Islam'.

Mr Brennan, 57, has spent more than three decades working in intelligence.

He was nominated as the new head of the CIA on January 7 by President Obama, after predecessor General David Petraeus was forced to resign amid a scandal surrounding an affair with his biographer....

The CIA is yet to respond to the MailOnline regarding Mr Guandolo's claims.

    Don't hold your breath.

Ben Carson is a friend of Mike Gallegher's stand in, Jay Sekulo (sp?)
Came out of the OR to chat for 10 minutes, or so.

Jay asks what he thinks is the biggest problem facing the USA.

    He says:
"People are afraid to say what they think."

Political Correctness, the MSM, and Democrat bullies have enslaved the nation.

  8. Saw an old school neurologist for the first time about my back.

He correctly diagnosed my wife's metatasis on her leg in one visit after 2 other younger clods gave her massive opiate meds to mask their incompetence, insuring that she would die of starvation (GI Blockage) and drug-induced organ failure.
    ...like MJ.
But unlike my wife, HE wanted the drugs.

Anyhoo, this guy doesn't even look at my MRI to start with, he looks at me, asks me questions, taps my knees, feels my grip, and learns all kinds of things I didn't know.

THEN he looks at the MRI.
I gotta see what my GP does in response to his evaluation.
...last thing I needed at this time was for my disks to collapse, when the only thing that makes me feel better mentally is physical labor, specifically carpentry.
Maybe I should take up Cabinetmaking from a wheelchair.

    AGE
(and genes - my 79 year old brother also lost 5 inches in height and is in a wheelchair)
    SUCKS!

  9. Upshot is:

An old school neurologist with common sense, of Ben Carson's background, and ethnicity is JUST what this nation needs at this juncture.

Don't need no honkey opthamaligist from Kentucky w/Bad hair that would lose just like Romney.

  11. Pakistan: Muslims rally against Valentine's Day, denouncing it as un-Islamic

"Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious." -- Ayatollah Khomeini

The state of our union is … dumber:
How the linguistic standard of the presidential address has declined

Using the Flesch-Kincaid readability test the Guardian has tracked the reading level of every state of the union

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/interactive/2013/feb/12/state-of-the-union-reading-level

    Obama - 9.2

    Jefferson - 18.5

    Worst - George H.W. Bush - 8.6
    Best - James Madison - 21.6

Nifty interactive for those so inclined.
