Has there ever been a first lady that uses her race to move her political agenda? The first victim can read the polls and she and her husband know that without rallying the black vote, they have no chance this November and again in 2012.
Meanwhile Obama is pursuing a strategy of suing Arizona to cater to the Spanish speaking vote. There is simply no measure of any effort to pursue a policy that focuses on American unity and there is no one in the MSM to call them on it. Fortunately others are paying attention to the blatant racial politics of destruction.

Well, now, we done gone and made'm fat!
ReplyDeleteDamn, we're mean.
Yes, they're going to call us racist for voting against Dems in 2010 and 2012. Sticks and stones, etc., just as long as they're out and we're back to the rule of law.
ReplyDeleteI, honestly, don't know whether to laugh, or cry.
ReplyDeleteWow great speech...
ReplyDeleteover 1/2 of the african americans will be diabetic....
what a great opportunity to exploit them....

now if i could only invent a deep fried chicken that is calorie free, fat free and promotes better health..
now before you call me racist I am JUST following our 1st Lady's thoughts...
African Americans score lowest on the economic scale for ability
African Americans score highest on the chubster scale...

1st I am going to set up a new website..
"DownWithWhitey.com"
Then I am going to sell African Amerians high dosage of speed packaged as "Secret Fight Whitey Potion" (energy drinks)
the opportunities are endless
Man, this has got to be the most spastic market I've seen in my lifetime.
ReplyDeletePriceless.
ReplyDeleteZimbabwe declared the Dollar (not the Yuan, by the way) legal tender a while ago. They carry the dollar bills in their socks, in their underwear, in their . . . . never mind; anyways, a common sight seems to be Dollar Bills hanging out to Dry.
Please do not laugh. It must be stopped. They, the race hustlers, get away with it because most the vast majority of whites are not racists and are fearful of being accused of racism.
ReplyDeleteAn "us against them" mentality always results in more of them than us. There never is any civic pride coming from Michelle. Obama mouths the words with no real conviction.
Achieving the honor of being the White House as opposed to serving in the White House is not enough for the Obamas. They do not see the glory in a nation that evolved from the time of its conception from a slave tolerant society to one of universal inclusion.
There is as yet no African success story other than America. None, not one African country anywhere on the planet provides more opportunity for people of African origin than the United States.
The politics of racial categorization and special treatment should be anathema to all. It needs to end. It should start with the call for the end to the Congressional Black Caucus and other exclusionary self identified as black enterprises.
Steinbrenner has passed away.

ReplyDeleteWASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. trade deficit widened to the highest level in 18 months in May as imports and exports alike bounced back after declines in April, government data showed Tuesday.
The deficit, the difference between the nation's exports and imports, reached $42.3 billion in May from $40.3 billion in April, the Commerce Department said.
It marked the largest trade gap since November 2008. The one-month worsening in the deficit is the biggest since February.

ReplyDelete- Banks and small business borrowers on Monday squabbled with each other and regulators over how to expand lending to entrepreneurs and create jobs to bolster a stagnating economic recovery.
Kicking off an all-day conference at the Federal Reserve on the financing needs of small businesses, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke acknowledged that some businesses in good standing have had difficulty obtaining the credit they need to expand or, in some cases, to even stay afloat.
"Some creditworthy businesses -- including some whose collateral has lost value but whose cash flows remain strong -- have had difficulty obtaining the credit that they need to expand, and in some cases, even to continue operating," Bernanke acknowledged.

They really can't be that stupid can they? Give banks money for free and they can loan it back to the government for 3%. Why oh why will they not loan it to Paul's machine shop?
Or, here's another scenario; Buy a million gallons of $400.00/gal gasoline, and diesel fuel from Halliburton in Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteHalliburton says, "Thanks," and deposits the money in their Dubai bank account, where they just happen to be Headquartered.
I'm not entirely sure that would qualify, but I just had to throw it in.
ReplyDeleteAs I posted in a previous thread, China's Trade Surplus reached a new High in June.
ReplyDeleteBy keeping wages low (some say, "slave-level") the Chinese are able to Peg their currency to a very cheap level, compared to ours. It gives them about a 25% advantage over an American employer. This has to stop.

That's what I want, back to the rule of law.
This stuff about Black Panthers hanging around voting places has got to stop.

ReplyDeleteMy personal banker a VP working at a regional commercial bank, Duece, is a gal that sits in on many of the loan committee meetings. She tells me that it is the Federals that nix the loans to those business borrowers that Mr Bernanke describes.
ReplyDeleteThese are established, on going concerns that have lost the appraised value in the real estate that secured the loans, while their cash flow has remained steady.
The Federals, those in charge of how the Banking business currently operates, book no modification to the "Regulations" in an attempt to solve the crisis.
As Bernanke acknowledges about the Banking regulators, operating just like those Federals on the Gulf continue to.
The French parliment finally shows it has some balls. Riots in the Paris slums to follow.
ReplyDeleteGag's story
ReplyDeletePARIS — France's lower house of parliament overwhelmingly approved a ban on wearing burqa-style Islamic veils Tuesday, part of a concerted effort to define and protect French values that has disconcerted many in the country's large Muslim community.
Proponents of the law say face-covering veils don't square with the French ideal of women's equality or its secular tradition. The bill is controversial abroad but popular in France, where its relatively few outspoken critics say conservative President Nicolas Sarkozy has resorted to xenophobia to attract far-right voters.
The ban on burqas and niqabs will go in September to the Senate, where it also is likely to pass. Its biggest hurdle will likely come after that, when France's constitutional watchdog scrutinizes it. Some legal scholars say there is a chance it could be deemed unconstitutional.
Spain and Belgium have similar bans in the works. In France, which has Europe's largest Muslim population, about 5 million of the country's 64 million people are believed to be Muslim. While ordinary headscarves are common in France, only about 1,900 women are believed to wear face-covering veils

ReplyDeleteRewind...Rewind...Rewind
ReplyDeleteOnly because I'm looking for something...anything to back up her accusations that African American children are more likely to be obese than white children. If she's implying it's due to low income she's more pathetic than I thought. Low income means less money means less food you eat, hence, you're not obese. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. She blames everyone and everything but oh wait, she never once mentioned how lazy they are. Hm...maybe that's why they are so fat.
Being healthy has nothing to do with how much money you make, what race you are or what neighborhood you live in. Give me an effing break.
Well said, Melody.
ReplyDeleteif you really are looking for information melody, try googling things like "low income high fat" or other variations on that theme and you will find that low income folk tend to eat highly processed fatty foods. In case you were wondering it is cheap to eat at McDonalds, and KFC, and...
ReplyDeleteKFC?
ReplyDeleteHell, I can't even afford that, and I love that chicken.
It's even cheaper to buy low fat groceries with food stamps and cook wholesome meals at home instead of buying Twinkies and Thunderbird.
ReplyDeleteWrong....
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are big health food fanatics. I can't go by her because she has to eat gluten free but I find in less expensive to eat healthy than to not.
And as far as fast food goes...one meal, if you make it a large, which most over weight people do is 6 bucks. Now times that by 5, and you tell me if that is cheaper than going to the grocery store and making a vegetable stir fry over rice?
Oh and water....FREE
ReplyDeleteDid I mention water, with no calories or sugar is, um.....FA-REEEE
ReplyDeleteKFC is over twenty dollars for a meal for four these days, that's why we buy chicken breasts at Wal-Mart and cook 'em at home. With a little mushroom soup on 'em to cheer things up. Just like my aunt used to do.
ReplyDeleteI guess you are just a dirt poor farmer boobie.
ReplyDelete10 pieces LEGS & THIGHS with 2 Large Side Dishes & 4 Buttermilk Biscuits...$19.99

Dinner for 4 right there.
Plus 6% tax, so it's over twenty dollars and don't call me boobie you little prick.
ReplyDeleteAsh- hole
ReplyDeletea dinner for 4 all prepared at five bucks a head is pretty damn cheap and easy but, no, it isn't healthy. A lot of poor folk aren't all that smart either and when they do cook they aren't often thinking healthy. Watch Jamie ... I can't even remember his last name now, but he's the English guy who has a tv show where he is trying to teach the folks in poor neighborhood to cook healthy, good, and cheap. In any case, low income correlates pretty highly with high fat intake.
ReplyDeletejamie oliver, that's it. Food Revolution is the show I believe.
"What was the situation when you first arrived?
Although some major steps had been taken in West Virginia’s schools to improve food standards in schools, the nutritional regulations set by the American Government still allowed for pizza to be served for breakfast, French fries to be served as a vegetable and junk food to be served every day without any cutlery or crockery – sloppy joes, burgers, bad-quality hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, nuggets. All of this food is riddled with large quantities of ‘E’ numbers, additives and non-food items. There was no regulation set for sugar intake and this was a massive problem bearing in mind one of the biggest problems is diabetes. If you speak to any paediatrician and say “identify the main enemy” they would say sugar. There is nearly as much sugar in a carton of milk as in a can of pop! There is sugar in the cereal, there is sugar in the bread, there is sugar here there and every bloomin’ where! Why? Because it is cheap and the fast food industry has gotten us addicted to it. Ultimately what I am saying is – although big steps have been made, junk food was still being served to those kids. "

When I grew up dad shot elk for 13 years straight, so I grew up on elk meat and Idaho potatoes, none of this KFC stuff.
ReplyDeleteand, yes, cooking for yourself can be cheaper! More jamie oliver:
ReplyDelete"It looked like you really connected with Stacy Edwards. Was it difficult for her to open up about how she had been feeding her family?
Not really, no. Stacy is a lovely woman, and like many mums in America, the UK, and the rest of the world, she is doing her best for her kids. Stacy had just never been taught the basics and she is not the minority. You buy largely processed stuff and you are going to suffer from some of the biggest killers in America and the UK: heart disease, diabetes, obesity. We now have three or four generations of people that can’t cook because they’ve never been taught how, and were never taught to cook at school. When these people become parents it’s no surprise they struggle to make the right food choices. In life you have to be shown stuff. That’s why parents and school are so incredibly important to this whole movement.
Stacy, along with millions of other mothers around the country, was gasping for help. She wanted change, she wanted to know how to do better and that is the consistent pattern – people want help, end of story. Time and time again, if you offer to help people learn in the kitchen there’ll be queues out the door. As an added bonus for Stacy, when she started shopping for proper food instead of all that processed rubbish her shopping bill went down by $150 a week - that’s $7,800 a year!"

Five pound chicken - $5.00
ReplyDeleteMaybe $2.00 for the veggies, and
$1.00 for the potatoes
A couple a tea bags for the iced tea, and a great meal for four for about $10.00.
Ash, that's not the point. That serving for four will only feed 2 over weight people. They are not conditioned to eat the proper serving amount.
ReplyDeleteAnd the point of my first comment was where does Michele Obama get off saying that African American children are more likely to be obese then white children.
statistics, melody, staticstics:
ReplyDelete" Obesity and African Americans
* African American women have the highest rates of being overweight or obese compared to other groups in the U.S. About four out of five African American women are overweight or obese.1
* In 2007, African Americans were 1.4 times as likely to be obese as Non- Hispanic Whites.
* From 2003-2006, African American women were 70% more likely to be obese than Non-Hispanic White women.
* In 2003-2004, African American children between ages 6 -17 were 1.3 times as likely to be overweight than Non-Hispanic Whites. "

The best way is to just get a freezer and buy a side of beef from Wayne and then you're in for the whole winter.
ReplyDeleteObesity tracks poverty. Very high statistical correlation.
ReplyDeleteMy all-time best buy was when the wife bought a "steamer." T'was a "game-changer."
ReplyDeleteMy "game changer" was my wife. She's a fiiiine cook!
ReplyDeleteIntel just put up a Hell of a number.
ReplyDeleteBut why is that Ash, because they're uneducated, because they're lazy, because they're low income?
ReplyDeleteThat is a fucking poor excuse to be fat and unhealthy statistics or not. And don't go blaming the system because of it. I grew up in a low income family, with three siblings; we were neither obese nor unhealthy.
My game changer was learning to hunt and garden so as to eat grass fed meat and veggies with nothing sprayed on them. Check out Paleodiet.com.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing finer than a prime cut of elk or bison.
There is plenty to blame Obama and Michelle for but most of the people on this blog seem to have gone over the edge.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the video twice. Unless I'm going deaf, most of you seem way off base in your criticism.
Regardless of what you think about Michelle, she, like most of the other first ladies has taken on a cause, in her case a pretty good one in fact, childhood obesity, one of the major problems facing this country.
She is giving a speech to the NAACP and chooses to talk about the problem. She chooses to emphasize how it affects the black community. Big surprise given her audience. Somehow in listening to the speech, I missed the part where she says black kids are fat because of a whitey plot.
There's plenty to bitch about without fabricating shit that isn’t there.
You guys will explode before November.

ReplyDeleteThey are just poor victims. We are all victims. Victims us all.
Beef really not all that good for you, its very fattening and makes you bloat for days.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Q.
ReplyDeleteOften the lower income households are "single parent families." Maybe Momma's just to tired to cook.
too tired.
ReplyDelete"They are just poor victims. We are all victims. Victims us all."
ReplyDeleteSorry, gag.
The comment was addressed to me but I'm unclear as to what it meant.
Approval? Disapproval? An observation?
.
"Often the lower income households are "single parent families." Maybe Momma's just to tired to cook."
ReplyDeleteIt could be part of it Ruf. But if you think fat assed kids are confined to poor (or black) families try walking through a mall on a Saturday afternoon.
Childhood obesity is an epidemic in this country.
.
Beef really not all that good for you, its very fattening and makes you bloat for days.
ReplyDeleteMelody
I have to disagree with that. It's never made me bloat, or fart, or anything else, as far as I can tell.
I love the steaks, and the hamburger has no fat in it at all.
But what is poison to one person is medicine for another, as the old Greek physicians used to say.
Also, down here, we can get the very best asparagus from down around Walla Walla. It is super. Also, onions you wouldn't believe, and I know they are good for you.
ReplyDeleteQ
ReplyDeleteJust an observation. But you are right, Obesity is an epidemic, and not just to kids.
There is a commericial running here in Dallas with a FAT doctor telling the viewing audience, "you are not fat, you have a condition called obesity." He sells lapband surgery. The first time I heard it, I blew beer thru my nose.
As far as kids are concerned, Nintendo has taken the place of street ball, and any other kind of physical activity. We are raising a generation of blobs.
There is nothing finer than a prime cut of elk or bison.
ReplyDeleteWe have bison at the store here once in a while. Grown by the Nez Perce. It's tasty, a little tougher than beef, and a little more pricey.
The Nez Perce, a fine tribe of Indians. Very handsome, and awesome equestrians. The history of Chief Joseph is a great read, but a sorry chapter in American History.
ReplyDeleteWhen coming from outside the US one notices the portions served in many US restuarants are HUGE.
ReplyDeleteThe Nez Perce are a fine bunch of people, I know them well, and they are making out well now, mistreated before, they are taking us to cleaners at the Casino, and they are into all sorts of industry, their cousins the Spokanes and the Coeur d Alenes are doing well too, the tribe at Coeur d'Alene is the biggest employer there.
ReplyDeleteDo you want that Coke and fries SUPERSIZED??
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no don't get me wrong, I'm all for her cause and when she announced she was tackling this problem, which is wide spread across the country, no pun intended, I was tickled pink. I am on her side 110% and I hope she makes a difference.
ReplyDelete"It could be part of it Ruf. But if you think fat assed kids are confined to poor (or black) families try walking through a mall on a Saturday afternoon."
That is what I've been trying to say. And in the video right there at the end she compared obesity to African American children to white children. Why didn't she say Asian or Hispanic? And don't give me that statistics crap, either.
The generation that was raised on big macs, and coca cola are now raising a new generation.
ReplyDeleteThe next generation won't be any svelter.
more svelte
ReplyDelete"Why didn't she say Asian or Hispanic? And don't give me that statistics crap, either."
ReplyDeleteComparing black kids to Hispanics might make them look pretty good or at least average since I think the numbers for both groups are pretty close to the same. Would have hardly made the point she wanted to make though.
Not sure what the numbers are for Asians but let's face it, they represent less than 5% of the US population. If she was going to go that far, she probably should have compared them to South Sea Islanders, who I believe have the best percentages.
.
svelte
ReplyDeleteThere's a good old Swedish word.
My sis is svelte, and my daughter is too, I used to be, very svelte, my wife is somewhat svelte, though a little heavier than before, though I love her still, and she takes walks all the time, and if I were working full time I'd be svelter than I am now.
I hate gravity!
I do not think it is a small thing about the lies and slander coming from NAACP and the implied endorsement by Michelle Obama.
ReplyDeleteMaking an obvious play to stir up emotions in the "black community" for political gain should be condemned.
The responsibility of her office should be to encourage harmony. Are we supposed to give the President and his wife an additional pass because they are black?
When does the guilt card get punched out?
Hell I'm trim and thin svelte doesn't even get it hell I make my wages on svelte.
ReplyDeleteSvetlana svelte
When does the guilt card get punched out?
ReplyDeleteIt's been punched out for me.
The hell with this bullshit.
"The responsibility of her office should be to encourage harmony. Are we supposed to give the President and his wife an additional pass because they are black?"
ReplyDeleteNot at all. Let's just find better examples than what appears to be a non-provocative speech on childhood obesity.
.

ReplyDeleteNot at all. Let's just find better examples than what appears to be a non-provocative speech on childhood obesity.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I lived on bic macs and french fries four times a week and I went as far as to get a some of the bic mac sauce in a cup so I can dip my french fries in it.
ReplyDeleteI gained 35 lbs.
ReplyDeleteBut then you lost it all, dear.
ReplyDeleteI remember my wife groaning and moaning about being pregnant, and then she gave birth, and it was all over.
ReplyDeleteI have never been forgiven by her for not attending the births.
I was out on the tractor at the time, a good excuse, though my mother was there, helping.
She is still pissed off.
I don't object to Michele Obama taking on a cause and childhood obesity and nutrition seems to be one dear to her. I do wish that while addressing the NAACP, instead of using the word 'fighting', she had used the word, 'working'. As in; "we have to keep on working..."
ReplyDeleteAlso, excess calories turn to fat. Fast food is fattening. The difference these days is that people simply do not burn off the calories. Kids sit indoors at computers, televisions or game consoles instead of out playing cowboys and indians, war, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, tetherball, tennis, badmitten or riding bicycles all day.
Fastfood and transfats...
ReplyDeleteNone of us, nor Obama himself would be in this position had we had an even marginally credible MSM. Voters would have discovered who Obama is at the same time we did.
ReplyDeleteNONE of the major networks said word one about the NASA Muslim Outreach.
Nor did the NY Times, WaPo, etc!
(Byron York reporting prior to current Admin repositioning, namely denying that Obama ever uttered the words!)
The Big Denial of access to the Gulf story is largely a distraction:
Exclusionary zones around booms is treated as a great coverup, when in fact it is the MSM's Comprehensive Refusal to report on the Admin's incompetence and failure.
Right now Heritage is in the Gulf doing the reporting that the MSM won't.
Instead, we have Anderson Cooper Sniveling in Faux Outrage about an insignificant detail, making THAT the story.
Cooper:
"The 65 foot exclusion basically means we can't observe and report on what is really going on."
Evidently Coop has not yet been introduced to binoculars and telephoto lenses!
I just spent a couple of nights in a Reno Casino Hotel. I thought I was in W. Virginia.
ReplyDeleteI never saw so much fat concentrated in one area. The portions they serve in the casino hotel and the "all you can eat" pricing, the glitz of the slots, must be totally addicting, and were they ever addicted.
And they all smoke, too.
ReplyDeleteOakie doakie....guess I need to go exercise after this conversation.
ReplyDeleteI hope Trish isn't watching the news or the polls too carefully:
ReplyDeleteRobert Gibbs, Barack Obama’s chief spokesman, got into hot water this week for daring to speak the truth – that the Democrats could lose control of the House of Representatives in November. But it could be even worse than that.
Contrary to pretty much every projection until now, Democratic control of the Senate is also starting to coming into question. While Mr Obama’s approval ratings have continued to fall, and now hover at dangerously close to 40 per cent according an ABC-Washington Post poll published on Tuesday, the fate of his former colleagues in the Senate looks even worse.
Here's a story I've been meaning to recommend.
ReplyDeleteSeems like an appropriate time to toss it in.
.
It's out in middle Nevada where the ranchers are thin. The kind of country I like. You won't be finding a bunch of fat assed Reno or Vegas McD eaters there.
