COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

  4. President Donald Trump appeared to confirm that his summit with Kim Jong Un was back on, three days after he abruptly called off the historic meeting in a sharply worded letter to the North Korean leader.

“Our United States team has arrived in North Korea to make arrangements for the Summit between Kim Jong Un and myself,” Trump said in tweet on Sunday afternoon, making no reference to his recent decision to pull out of the meeting.

    ...

“A U.S. delegation is in ongoing talks with North Korean officials at Panmunjom,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement, referring to the truce village in the demilitarized zone between the Koreas. “We continue to prepare for a meeting between the president and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.”

Nauert provided no further details. The Washington Post reported that Sung Kim, a former U.S. ambassador to South Korea, is leading the delegation and met Sunday with North Korea’s vice foreign minister, Choe Son Hui.

  5. Seven Concealed Carry Essentials For Every Man
Posted at 6:00 pm on May 10, 2018 by Tom Knighton

If you’re going to carry a concealed firearm, there are certain things you really must have. Recently, I was asked to mention what I considered the essentials for a man going about town with a concealed firearm. I’m going to assume you already have a gun, of course, but if not then the discussion of what to look for is a whole other topic for another post.

Ladies, don’t worry. There will be a version coming up specifically tailored to your needs. While many of this will translate over for either sex, I’m not about to tell women how to carry concealed. There are unique challenges there that I don’t understand at this time.

But for the guys? I understand that better, what with being a man and all. So, without further ado, here are my concealed carry essentials presented in no particular order.....

The land that bequeathed the world the Magna Carta and the "mother of parliaments" is indulging in totalitarianism with its handling of Tommy Robinson, a famous political activist agitating about the threat of radical Islam and attempting to report on the trial of a Muslim "grooming gang" that allegedly preyed on young English girls, forcing them into prostitution. I wrote about the fragmentary reports of his arrest in Leeds two days ago for the alleged crimes of "breach of the peace and incitement."

Let us repeat that, should the Arab world prove victorious, this includes the non-Arab Persians of Iran, in what is developing into a world war despite the refusal of so many who laughingly believe, just as the Europeans believed after the War to End All Wars (World War I) had brought warfare to an end because war had become too calamitous and caused far too much destruction to ever be used to solve international differences or actual severe antagonisms, World War III would follow. They were wrong and those today who believe that another all-out world war has been ruled out due to the arrival of an ultimate weapon, the atomic bomb and now the Hydrogen Thermonuclear Warhead and the EMP devices, are wrong.

    ...

The entirety of the existence of a Palestinian Arab population actually was manufactured in 1964 with the launch of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization). The initial PLO charter stated that they desired no claim to the Shomron (West Bank) as this area belonged to Jordan.

Their target was to liberate the remaining Arab Palestinian lands which included only the lands which were Israel. After the Arab loss in the Six Day War where Israel liberated Gaza from Egypt and the Shomron from Jordan, the PLO altered their claim to now form a Palestinian Arab state in the areas Israel liberated.

  16. Sweden distributes ‘be prepared for war’ leaflet to all 4.8 million homes

By Pamela Geller - on May 28, 2018

    SWEDEN JIHAD

This is the Guardian, and possibly Sweden itself, in denial: “The publication comes as the debate on security – and the possibility of joining Nato – has intensified in Sweden in the wake of Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and recent incursions into Swedish airspace and territorial waters by Russian planes and submarines.” The Swedes face no serious threat of war from Russia. The real threat of war they face is from within, from the massive number of Muslim migrants they have admitted. And everyone in Sweden knows that is why they distributed this leaflet. They know what they’ve done to their country, and what is coming.

“Sweden distributes ‘be prepared for war’ leaflet to all 4.8m homes,” by Jon Henley, Guardian, May 21, 2018:

The Swedish government has begun sending all 4.8m of the country’s households a public information leaflet telling the population, for the first time in more than half a century, what to do in the event of a war.

Om krisen eller kriget kommer (If crisis or war comes) explains how people can secure basic needs such as food, water and heat, what warning signals mean, where to find bomb shelters and how to contribute to Sweden’s “total defence”.

The 20-page pamphlet, illustrated with pictures of sirens, warplanes and families fleeing their homes, also prepares the population for dangers such as cyber and terror attacks and climate change, and includes a page on identifying fake news.

“Although Sweden is safer than many other countries, there are still threats to our security and independence,” the brochure says. “If you are prepared, you are contributing to improving the ability of the country to cope with a major strain.”

Similar leaflets were first distributed in neutral Sweden in 1943, at the height of the second world war. Updates were issued regularly to the general public until 1961, and then to local and national government officials until 1991.

“Society is vulnerable, so we need to prepare ourselves as individuals,” said Dan Eliasson of the Swedish civil contingencies agency, which is in charge of the project. “There’s also an information deficit in terms of concrete advice, which we aim to provide.”

The publication comes as the debate on security – and the possibility of joining Nato – has intensified in Sweden in the wake of Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and recent incursions into Swedish airspace and territorial waters by Russian planes and submarines.

The country has begun reversing military spending cuts and last year staged its biggest military exercises in nearly a quarter of a century, as well as voting to reintroduce conscription and unveiling joint plans with Denmark to counter Russian cyber-attacks and disinformation….

  20. The Three Stooges of SpyGate

    May 29, 2018, 12:05 am

Brennan, Comey, and Clapper have been caught in a big fat wringer.

Bret Baier, in his April interview with Jim Comey on Fox News, asked him if he had seen John Brennan and Jim Clapper together since his firing. “No, no,” Comey replied at first, then said, “Actually, I had dinner with the two of them together with our spouses.” Baier asked him if they discussed “Trump cases” on the triple date. “No, we did not,” he answered.

Add that to Comey’s voluminous record of whoppers. The idea that the three stooges of Spygate, whose red-hot antipathy for Trump is nothing if not all-consuming, went out to dinner without discussing the investigation of him strains all credulity. No doubt one of their anxieties at the dinner was: When will the American public find out about the spy we sent to infiltrate the Trump campaign’s ranks?

Beneath all of their flailing attacks on Congressman Devin Nunes lay the fear that his oversight would kick loose scandalous nuggets buried within their probe: a FISA warrant cribbed from Hillary’s campaign smears, national security letters based on insanely thin justifications, an embarrassing reliance on sketchy foreign intelligence (which consisted largely of Russian disinformation and re-circulated nonsense from Hillary’s hired gun, Christopher Steele), and an infiltration plot involving a swampy old CIA asset.

The three stooges have yet to utter the name of Stefan Halper, the spy at the center of the Obama administration’s farcical plot. Rubbing his bald pate as usual, Clapper claimed total ignorance of Halper. He apparently was at the children’s table at Brennan’s interagency gatherings. “I didn’t know about this informant,” Clapper said.

Of course, his I-know-nothing routine didn’t stop him from serving as an authority on the knowledge levels of others: “No one in the White House knew. Certainly the president didn’t know.” But amidst all this defensiveness, Clapper worked up a sweat defending the spying as a “good thing,” which raises the obvious question: If it was all so normal and praiseworthy, why not tell Obama?

Just as Clapper’s denial of FISA warrants on the Trump campaign disintegrated, so too will that one. Sooner or later it will come out that Obama knew damn well that the Trump campaign was under surveillance and signed off on it. How could he not have? After all, we’ve been told repeatedly that spying on the Trump campaign was a national security matter of unspeakable gravity. How could such a matter be withheld from the person most responsible for national security?

So what did Obama know and when did he know it? Brennan could give the precise date; he was personally briefing Obama on “Russian interference,” Brennan’s euphemism for his paranoid hunch that Putin’s agents had recruited Trump campaign officials. All the hush-hush dynamics around Brennan’s “taskforce” make no sense if he and White House officials were just sitting around discussing Facebook ads. No, what made it an “exceptionally, exceptionally sensitive issue,” in Brennan’s words, was that they were spying on an opposing party’s presidential campaign.

The doublespeak around this spying has been comically pitiful. We’re told by the three stooges and their media propagandists that Halper — who tried to get a position in the campaign, spent over a year shadowing Carter Page, and tried to entrap George Papadopoulos — “wasn’t spying.” Halper was just “observing,” “assisting an FBI investigation” (as the Washington Post desperately put it), or, in the words of John Brennan, seeking “insight.”

George Orwell would have laughed at that one. “Political language,” Orwell said, “is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” .....

Trump prepares more sterile, unwholesome fodder for his sheep

Trump accuses Mueller team of 'meddling' in midterm elections

“The 13 Angry Democrats (plus people who worked 8 years for Obama) working on the rigged Russia Witch Hunt, will be MEDDLING with the mid-term elections, especially now that Republicans (stay tough!) are taking the lead in Polls. There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats.

President offers no proof for allegation about special counsel investigators and says Democrats are guilty of ‘collusion’. What's new? The game plan is established. The script written. The Kool-Aid drunk. Wash, rinse, repeat.

We can count on a steady stream of fake news and conspiracy theories out of our Liar-in-Chief between now and the mid-terms (at least). His closest advisers admit it...

On Sunday Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani admitted on CNN that Trump’s repeated claim there was a “spy” in his campaign were made “for public opinion … because eventually the decision here is going to be impeach or not impeach”.

Intelligence analysts and experts have rubbished the “spy” claims, saying that if an FBI informant spoke to Trump aides observed interacting with Russians, that was normal policy if a foreign power appeared to be seeking to influence an election.

“Members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans,” Giuliani said, nonetheless, “are going to be informed a lot by their constituents. And so our jury – and it should be – is the American people.”

All PR. But it doesn't matter. Trump's base is that stupid that they either don't see it or they just don't care.

Trump shouts 'MEDDLING' and his minions jump. Sarah Sanders provides the echo chamber; Nunes threatens investigations; Hannity, Gateway Pundit, and American Thinker pick up the story and expand it, Tom Fitton threatens lawsuits, no doubt the usual suspects here will say 'I knew it' and the Trumpies in a dull monotone will chant 'MEDDLING' over and over again.

What can you say when you have a base that is being played, are told by the administration that they are being played, and yet still drink another tumbler of Kool-Aid and in that same dull monotone says, 'Thank you, sir. May I have another?'

    #sad, so sad.

Sources: FBI Agents Afraid To Testify, Say Congress Likely Won’t Protect Them

The former White House official who maintained direct contact with at least two agents told TheDC they are “hunkering down because they see good people being thrown to the dogs for speaking out and speaking out does nothing to solve the problems.” He believes that “Congress and DOJ are so weak and clueless and can’t be trusted to follow through.”

According to transcripts he shared with TheDC, one special agent said, “It’s a question of basic credibility — Congress, the executive, and oversight are not seen to have any gravitas or seriousness. The inmates have been running the asylum and they don’t respect, much less fear, their overseers. We know we’ll be hung out to dry.”

The agent added, “And don’t get me wrong, there are still a few good people scattered about, but main Justice and the bureaucrats are running the show, want to run out the clock on this administration, and keep the status quo.”

Sources tell The Daily Caller disgruntled FBI agents are too afraid of retaliation to speak out about the Bureau’s many troubles.
The sources say agents don’t trust Congress to protect them from the consequences of testifying and claim whistleblower protection laws are ineffective.
The FBI rarely punishes those who retaliate against whistleblowers, according to the agency itself.
Even as a new Rasmussen poll shows a majority of voters believe senior law enforcement officials broke the law to stop Donald Trump from beating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, rank-and-file FBI agents who want to testify against their superiors to Congress feel they can’t due to an ineffective whistleblower protection law.

These agents believe the sluggishness of the law exposes them to an inordinate risk of reprisal, so they have remained in hiding and afraid to speak the truth.

This story is based on interview transcripts with two FBI agents that one former White House official provided The Daily Caller. A third special agent also reached out to The Daily Caller to provide information about the current state of the Bureau. "Wilding" is the term for mobs of violent young people taking over upscale neighborhoods and wreaking havoc, looting, mugging, and attacking innocent people just for the fun of it. A "good" neighborhood is no guarantee of safety anymore in Chicago. The breakdown of civil order, in other words, is well underway in the Windy City. Bit by bit, civilization is slipping away in Chicago.

If you want to know how bad things have gotten there, the major media outlets are no help. The last thing they want is for people to stay away from The Mag Mile – the stretch of Michigan Avenue just north of the Chicago River – full of glittering shopping, towering condo buildings and hotels, and the iconic Water Tower that is Chicago's rival to Fifth Avenue around Trump Tower. You have to go to Second City Cop and CWB Chicago, two grassroots websites that are not afraid of alienating big advertisers or of a phone call from City Hall.

  29. The Obama Administration’s Hypocritical Pretext for Spying on the Trump Campaign
    By ANDREW C. MCCARTHY
Where was its concern about Russia during its eight years in power?

As I argued in my weekend column, it is hard to imagine a more idle question than whether the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign. Of course it did. If you want to argue the point, imagine what the professors, pundits, and pols would have said had the Bush administration run an informant against three Obama 2008 campaign officials, including the campaign co-chairman; any hair-splitting about whether that technically constituted “spying” would be met by ostracism from polite society.

There is, in addition, more evidence — at least, more public, verified evidence — that Stefan Halper was a spy for the FBI than that Carter Page was one for Russia. This is not a small point.

    Spy vs. ‘Spy’

It has been credibly reported that Halper, a longtime source for the CIA and British intelligence, was tasked by the FBI in the Trump-Russia investigation to make contact with and get information from at least three Trump campaign officials. He even sought a role in the campaign from co-chairman Sam Clovis. Page, on the other hand, was the target of four FISA court surveillance warrants, which enabled the Justice Department and FBI to monitor him for a year, starting at the height of the 2016 campaign.

To obtain such a warrant under FISA (the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978), the FBI and Justice Department must convince a judge that there is probable cause to believe the target is an agent of a foreign power — in Page’s case, of Russia. As we’ve previously outlined (here, last section), because Page is an American citizen, the Obama administration had to have told the court that he was either: (a) “knowingly engage[d] in clandestine intelligence gathering activities for or on behalf of [Russia], which activities involve[d] or may [have] involve[d]” federal crimes; or (b) “knowingly engaged in any other clandestine intelligence activities for or on behalf of [Russia], that were undertaken “pursuant to the direction of an intelligence service or network of [Russia],” and that “involve[d] or [were] about to involve” federal crimes.

(See Section 1801(b)(2) of Title 50, U.S. Code.

Russia’s invasion of Georgia — including the still-ongoing occupation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia — made congressional approval of this embarrassing pact politically impossible for a time.

Yet it was revived soon enough in the Obama “reset” of relations with Moscow steered by then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Clinton promised an era of cooperation in counterterrorism and non-proliferation while Putin went merrily along backing nuclear-energy development and advanced military capabilities in Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of jihadist terrorism.

Obama, of course, made nary a peep since he needed Moscow’s help to pull off the ludicrous Iran nuclear deal. As the Putin thug-ocracy rattled its saber, Obama ushered its entry into the World Trade Organization and pushed through the wayward “New START” treaty.

  32. OMG ET, we’re coming to kill you

Physicist solves Fermi’s Paradox – but you won’t like the answer. Andrew Masterson reports.

In Dr Who – here played by actor Tom Baker – seen here with Earth-inading Daleks, Fermi's Paradox doesn't apply.
    MICHAEL PUTLAND/GETTY IMAGES

The human race is doomed never to find extraterrestrial life, because we are about to wipe it all out in a manner that is unintentional, yet horribly unavoidable.

That’s the conclusion reached by physicist Alexander Berezin from the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) in Russia, in a new and admirably parsimonious solution to Fermi’s Paradox.

Fermi’s Paradox is named after Enrico Fermi (1901–1954), an Italian-American physicist who created the world’s first nuclear reactor. Along with fellow physicist Michael Hart, he did some back-of-the-envelope calculations and raised a disturbing and apparently intractable issue at the heart of the subject of extraterrestrial life – or, rather, its absence.

There are, the pair stated, billions of stars in the Milky Way – never mind the rest of the universe – that are similar to the Sun, with some of them considerably older. Given this, there is an extremely high probability that Earth-like planets also exist in abundance and some of these, therefore, must host intelligent life.

So far, so logical. But, the scientists continued, if this is so, then some of the intelligent lifeforms must have developed interstellar travel – because humans are working on it, and humans, in this set-up, can’t be anything special.

Ergo, even at a slow pace, some of these civilisations should have completely crossed the Milky Way by now.

    Ergo, where is everybody?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There has been no shortage of attempts to resolve the problem. Possible explanations have included the idea that we humans aren’t using the correct search techniques so keep missing ET; ET has worked out ways of hiding from our searching stares; the universe is so old that whole ET civilisations have risen and eventually gone extinct without overlapping; and the face-palm-inducing suggestion that all advanced civilisations are so busy listening for the signals of others than none have remembered to actually broadcast one.

Berezin, however, dismisses these arguments because they “invoke multiple rather controversial assumptions”.

In a paper published on the academic pre-print site Arxiv (and, thus, awaiting peer review) he advances his own tightly reasoned solution to the matter. It is not, however, something he does so much with pride as with deep sorrow.

“I argue that the Paradox has a trivial solution, requiring no controversial assumptions, which is rarely suggested or discussed,” he writes.

“However, that solution would be hard to accept, as it predicts a future for our own civilisation that is even worse than extinction.”

Just let that sink in for a moment: worse than extinction.

To reach this rather depressing conclusion, the physicist ruthlessly pares away most of the assumptions that have been used in the past to define possible extra-terrestrial civilisations. They need to be “substrate-invariant”, he says, meaning they could be biological, robotic, or distributed planet-scale minds.

      Delete
    2. All that matters is that they fulfil just three criteria: they reproduce, they grow, and they come close enough for us to detect them. That’s all well and good, but thus far there is no sign of any ET doing that. The paradox still stands.

And this is where things turn a bit ugly.

“What if,” Berezin proposes, “the first life that reaches interstellar travel capability necessarily eradicates all competition to fuel its own expansion?”

This is not, he quickly adds, to imply that ET is warlike or cruel.

“I am not suggesting that a highly developed civilisation would consciously wipe out other lifeforms,’ he writes.

“Most likely, they simply won’t notice, the same way a construction crew demolishes an anthill to build real estate because they lack incentive to protect it.”

Readers familiar with Douglas Adams’ novel Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy might be thinking at this point of the incident at the start of the story in which an ET species known as Vogons demolish Earth in order to clear a path for an intergalactic highway, expressing neither care nor interest for all the life upon it.

The comparison, in Berezin’s model, is not inapt – except for one small, but critical, difference. This time, we’re the Vogons.

To draw this conclusion, the physicist deploys one of the more troubling, but central, tenets of cosmology, known as the anthropic principle. This idea, first formulated in 1974 by theoretical physicist Brandon Carter from the UK’s Cambridge University, holds that conditions within the universe “must be restricted by the conditions necessary for our presence as observers”.

It’s a powerful concept – albeit one that challenges the equally important Copernican principle that holds Earth and humanity to be nowhere and nothing special – that even Stephen Hawking entertained.

Applied to the Fermi Paradox by Berezin, however, it becomes an instrument of cosmic damnation. There is, he concludes, only one reason why ET, in all the stellar multitude, has not so far been seen.

“We are the first to arrive at the stage,” he says. “And, most likely, will be the last to leave.”

In other words, we are the paradox resolution made manifest. It is us, our species, who will spread through the universe, demolishing anthills along the way. Avoiding this fate, suggests Berezin is impossible, because it will “require the existence of forces far stronger than the free will of individuals”.

At the conclusion of his paper, the author adds that he hopes he is wrong in his prediction.

“The only way to find out is to continue exploring the Universe and searching for alien life,” he adds – although many of his readers, perhaps, might conclude that this is not now the wisest course of action.

Jarrett and Obama are Behind Spygate

      By Daniel John Sobieski

Unless we assume the FBI went completely rogue, it is inconceivable that the deployments of personnel to spy on the Trump campaign and make provocative contact with its lesser members could have occurred without the full knowledge and control of the occupants of the Oval Office.

Obama may claim a scandal-free administration, but after Fast and Furious, the targeting of the Tea Party by the IRS, the Benghazi cover-up, Hillary's emails, to name a few, Spygate is just the latest. I use the plural "occupants" because while Barack Hussein Obama may have been nominally the president of the United States, at the heart of every one of these scandals and virtually every administration move was Valerie Jarrett, who arguably could be considered our first female president.

Jarrett, born in Iran to American parents, has been with the Obamas since her days as deputy chief of staff in the office of Chicago mayor Richard Daley, the younger. She hired Michelle Obama.....

    2. Valerie was the representative of the muzzie brotherhood to the obamas in the white house.

Hang her along with all the other traitors.

It has been credibly reported that Halper, a longtime source for the CIA and British intelligence, was tasked by the FBI in the Trump-Russia investigation to make contact with and get information from at least three Trump campaign officials. He even sought a role in the campaign from co-chairman Sam Clovis.

    ...

I want to be clear: I am not offended by the word spy. If Halper’s mission was righteous, the Justice Department and FBI should be proud that he was a spy.

And if, on behalf of Russia, Page conducted clandestine anti-American activities that constituted felony violations of American law, I would enthusiastically support labeling him a spy and prosecuting him to the full extent of the law. I’d want any official who knew about and supported such traitorous activities to be removed from office and prosecuted.

Russian Journalist Arkady Babchenko Shot Dead in Kiev

    Sergei Bobylev / TASS

A prominent Russian investigative journalist was shot dead on Tuesday in Ukraine’s capital, Kiev.

Arkady Babchenko died from his injuries on the way to the hospital after being shot in the back near the entrance to his Kiev apartment, Ukrainian law enforcement said on social media.

His wife phoned an ambulance saying she had found Babchenko covered in blood, police said, adding they suspected the murder was due to Babchenko's professional activities.

Babchenko, a Chechen war veteran and a staunch critic of President Vladimir Putin, left Russia out of safety concerns after covering the conflict in Ukraine. His murder follows the earlier death of Ukranian-Belarussian journalist Pavel Sheremet by car bomb in central Kiev in 2016.

  45. A war reporter and critic of President Vladimir Putin who left his native Russia after receiving death threats was shot to death Tuesday in Ukraine in what government officials there alleged was a hit ordered by Moscow.

    ...

Babchenko also wrote about separatists in the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk and Luhansk who vowed to "hunt" him down.

Wow. Now, that's gotta be embarrassing.

Devin 'Clouseau' Nunes, Trump's butt-boy in the House, a man often referred to as 'deep throat' for different reasons depending on who is using the term at that particular time, yes that Nunes, is in the habit of demanding reams of classified documents from the FBI and DOJ and then leaking their content. However, as has been reported by various sources, though he is very good at the demanding part he is less so at the reading part. In fact, he rarely reads any of them leaving the actual reading up to his staff. Likewise, when legal questions come up he defers to his number two on the committee, Trey Gowdy, a man who actually knows something about the law having been a prosecutor in a previous life. Therefore, it must have disappointed Devin immensely when Trey chose not to follow the script.

Trey Gowdy: FBI’s Use of Informant for Trump Campaign Was Appropriate

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said on Tuesday that the FBI’s use of an informant for the Trump campaign in 2016 was appropriate, joining top Democrats in disputing President Donald Trump’s characterization of the informant as a spy.

“I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” Gowdy said during an interview on Fox News.

In recent days, Trump has parroted misleading claims about the FBI’s use of the informant as part of its counter-intelligence investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, dubbing the individual a “spy” and referring to the controversy as “Spygate.”

Gowdy’s comments were notable because the former federal prosecutor participated in a classified briefing about the informant last week that was conducted by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The so-called “Gang of Eight”—which includes House and Senate leaders in addition to the top Republicans and Democrats on the intelligence committees—also joined the briefing. The Democrats present at the meeting previously released a joint statement saying they heard “no evidence” from Rosenstein and Wray that a “spy” was placed within the Trump campaign.

Marco Rubio (R-FL), who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, has also backed Gowdy’s and other congressional leaders’ characterization of the FBI’s activities as part of the counter-intelligence investigation. On Sunday, the senator said the FBI was right to look into “individuals with a history of links to Russia that were concerning.”

One of the president’s top lawyers, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, said on Sunday that the use of the informant means special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is no longer “legitimate.” Giuliani raised serious doubts about whether the president would ever sit for an interview with the special counsel.

And yes, folks, that last from Rudy Giuliani who on national tv told us that all this talk about 'Spies' and 'Spygate' by Trump and his minions is merely for PR purposes, an act designed to sway public opinion in favor of Trump.

There has been no one in the 'Gang of Eight' meeting, Republican or Democrat, that has come out and said the FBI did anything wrong in using their informant. In fact, the opposite is true. However, none of that has slowed Trump and his minions down. They still insist the Obama administration 'embedded' a 'spy' into the Trump campaign.

The Big Lie continues. And the Trumpies despite the fact that Trump's lawyer told them the truth about it all being a PR stunt say "We believe you, Mr. President." It would almost be touching if it weren't...

      #sad, so sad.

I fear tomorrow will be a dark day in Mudville when the Twins learn about this. There is the distinct possibility they will hurt themselves in trying to come up with some explanation that isn't laughable. After all their two go-to phrases are, 'Thank you, Mr. President, may I have another;' and 'Thinking hurts'.

    2. How dare Congress ask DoJ and FBI for documents to which they are entitled.

Congress, don'tchaknow, is Boss, and could defund both DoJ and FBI with a simple vote.

And how dare Nunes turn the reading of thousands and thousands and thousands of pages over to aides !

As for Gowdy, he is exhausted by the Congressional life, and often speaks in error.

If you believe sticking a spy into an opponent's campaign is an innocent behavior, you are out of your ever lovin' mind, my good child.

You, like Gowdy, need some time off with the wife and kids.

You are an idiot, Bob, and your idiocy grows.

What don't you get about Gowdy not being the only one denying there was any wrong done on this issue, he is simply the latest. No one who sat in that meeting and had the rationale for using the informant explained to them has complained about it. None. Not Dem or Pub. None. Not even that ass Nunes himself.

And there was No 'Spy' put 'In' the Trump campaign.

What the hell is wrong with you guys?
