COLLECTIVE MADNESS

“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."

Russia under Putin and the US under Trump establish an intelligent dialog

Putin: Trump different in real life than on TV, we can restore relations with US

Putin: Trump different in real life than on TV, we can restore relations with US
The Donald Trump seen on television is different from the one in real life, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the G20 summit, adding that after his meeting with the US leader in Hamburg, he felt like relations between the two countries could at least partially be restored.

As for personal relations, I think that they are established,” Putin said of his meeting with Trump.

I think that if we continue building our relations like during our conversation yesterday, there are grounds to believe that we’ll be able to – at least partially – restore the level of cooperation that we need,” Putin said.

Putin said that the issue of alleged Russian meddling in the US election was addressed by Trump during their conversation.

He [Trump] asked many questions on that subject. I answered those questions as best I could. I think he took it into consideration and agreed with me, but you should really ask him how he feels about it,” the Russian president said.
On Friday, the first day of the summit, Putin held a long-awaited meeting with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, with whom he discussed international issues including a Syria ceasefire, the Ukraine crisis, cybersecurity and fighting terrorism.

The meeting, which lasted more than two hours instead of the planned 30-40 minutes, showed a “positive chemistry” between both leaders, who “connected quickly,” US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.

After the meeting, US and Russian officials announced a ceasefire agreement in southwest Syria, set to take effect on July 9. The ceasefire applies to the southern Daraa, Quneitra and As-Suwayda provinces.

The leaders also agreed to create a bilateral channel to promote a settlement of the Ukraine crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, adding that the crisis was discussed “in a concrete, businesslike” manner.

Also on Friday, the Russian president held a meeting with South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in, with whom he discussed North Korea’s latest “provocation” in the form of a missile test and the need to “keep cool heads” to defuse tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Putin underlined the importance of adopting a rational approach when dealing with Pyongyang.

On Saturday, Putin met French leader Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel for a working breakfast on the sidelines of the G20 summit. The leaders agreed on the importance of implementing a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.

The leaders understand “it is necessary to take effective measures that would result in a genuine ceasefire on the frontline and to ensure the withdrawal of heavy weapons,” Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, Putin met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral cooperation and the issue of a Syrian settlement. Putin noted that due to Ankara’s efforts to fight Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), “the situation in Syria has changed significantly for the better” and “terrorist groups have suffered a major blow.”

  1. Russia under Putin and the US under Trump establish an intelligent dialog ... unlike the ass-clown act of the scurrilous US Media and the anti-American Democrats.

Any party or interest group that is willing to lie and distort to achieve political advantage by endangering the US Public to war is a party of the truly loathsome.

    Trump Colludes with Poland
    By Daniel John Sobieski

President Trump’s speech to the Polish people wasn’t quite President Ronald Reagan telling Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall, but in setting the tone for what may be called the “Trump Doctrine” it may be equally important in a historical context. It was not an apology but a full-throated declaration of American exceptionalism and a shared interest with loyal allies, such as Poland, to resist tyranny and terror in all its forms.

Trump was also speaking to both Vladimir Putin and Germany’s Angela Merkel. Poland is a NATO member that, unlike Germany, has met its NATO commitments. It is also a country that has refused to adopt the European Union’s suicidal policy of open borders. As Reuters reported:

Poland has a moral right to say 'no' to refugees, the country's most powerful politician said on Saturday.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, head of the ruling party Law and Justice (PiS), gave his views on immigration at a party convention in Przysucha, 100 km (60 miles) south of Warsaw.

"We have not exploited the countries from which these refugees are coming to Europe these days, we have not used their labour force and finally we have not invited them to Europe. We have a full moral right to say 'no'," Kaczynski said in a speech broadcast on television.

Last month the European Commission launched a legal case against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic for refusing to take in asylum seekers, highlighting the feud within the 28-nation bloc over how to deal with migration.

Poland may be the poster child for extreme vetting. Poland does not accept refugees. Poland also has been devoid of terror attacks spawned in the refugee enclaves that dot the major cities of Europe. Trump’s visit was a clear message to Merkel as was his warning:

We are confronted by another oppressive ideology -- one that seeks to export terrorism and extremism all around the globe. America and Europe have suffered one terror attack after another. We're going to get it to stop.

During a historic gathering in Saudi Arabia, I called on the leaders of more than 50 Muslim nations to join together to drive out this menace which threatens all of humanity. We must stand united against these shared enemies to strip them of their territory and their funding, and their networks, and any form of ideological support that they may have. While we will always welcome new citizens who share our values and love our people, our borders will always be closed to terrorism and extremism of any kind.

Two very important items and rebukes to Putin have been overlooked by the leftist mainstream media – Poland’s acquisition of the Patriot air and missile defense system and the natural gas exports to Poland that will allow it to break free of Putin’s energy noose around the neck of the European Union: As Trump stated:

    1. To the citizens of this great region, America is eager to expand our partnership with you. We welcome stronger ties of trade and commerce as you grow your economies. And we are committed to securing your access to alternate sources of energy, so Poland and its neighbors are never again held hostage to a single supplier of energy…

That is why we applaud Poland for its decision to move forward this week on acquiring from the United States the battle-tested Patriot air and missile defense system -- the best anywhere in the world. That is also why we salute the Polish people for being one of the NATO countries that has actually achieved the benchmark for investment in our common defense. Thank you. Thank you, Poland. I must tell you, the example you set is truly magnificent, and we applaud Poland. Thank you.

Trump’s Warsaw speech should be the final nail in the coffin of the Russian collusion fantasy put forward by delusional Democratic losers. His call for defiant resistance to tyrants and aggressors in the country President Obama betrayed as soon as he took office. Trump spoke of Poland acquiring U.S, missile defense assets where Obama had pulled the rug out from underneath Poland on an anniversary that showed his tone-deaf insensitivity.....

  4. Yeah, but they are assholes because they won't help out in Afghanistan (Obama's War). Maybe it's because Obama treated them like shit for 8 years. Treated them like a Polish borough in Chicago. Looked down on them with all that so called street savvy.

    The Chicago way!

The American Revolution started in our churches during the time of The Great Awakening.

    Very interesting article.

We should think of these preachers as among our Founders too.

  7. FBI INVESTIGATING 1,000 ISIS-RELATED THREATS IN ALL 50 STATES
By Anugrah Kumar, Christian Post Contributor, Jul 1, 2017:

DAYS AFTER CHARLOTTE-AREA ISIS SYMPATHIZER JUSTIN SULLIVAN WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR PLANNING MASS MURDER IN SUPPORT OF THE ISLAMIC STATE TERROR GROUP, A NORTH CAROLINA-BASED TERRORISM EXPERT SAYS THE FBI IS INVESTIGATING ABOUT 1,000 ISIS-RELATED THREATS IN ALL 50 STATES.

U.S. Attorney Jill Rose of Charlotte has confirmed that suspected ISIS sympathizers are being investigated in North Carolina while not disclosing the number, a “domestic-terrorism expert” told The Charlotte Observer that the state probes are among some 1,000 active FBI investigations.

After Sullivan’s conviction this week, Keri Farley, the FBI’s assistant special agent in charge of North Carolina, was quoted as saying that while Sullivan’s arrest saved lives, “homegrown violent extremists” are becoming more difficult to deal with.

“Identifying a terrorist before an attack happens is one of the most difficult challenges we face,” she said at a press conference. “It’s harder than finding a needle in a haystack; it’s like finding a needle in a stack of needles. But that’s exactly what happened in this case.”

According to the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, 126 people, mostly young men, have been arrested in the country over the last three years for ISIS-related acts or conspiracies. While about 45 percent were arrested while trying to join ISIS fighters abroad, around 30 percent have been accused of being involved in plots to carry out attacks on U.S. soil, the program says, adding that 58 percent were charged in an operation involving an informant and/or an undercover agent.

The program has also found that the average age of those charged is 27, and their activities were located in 26 states and the District of Columbia.

During the trial, U.S. District Judge Martin Reidinger said the massacre planned by 21-year-old Sullivan was similar to the 2016 attack in Orlando, Florida, where one gunman killed as many as 49 people. Sullivan was also planning to unveil the “Islamic State of North America.”

“Sullivan is a convicted terrorist who plotted with now-deceased Syria-based terrorist Junaid Hussain to execute acts of mass violence in the United States in the name of ISIS,” Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security Dana Boente said in a statement earlier. “Counter terrorism remains our highest priority and we will continue to identify and hold accountable those who seek to commit acts of terrorism within our borders.”

Court records show Sullivan expressed support for ISIS inside his own home and destroyed religious objects that belonged to his parents. It was ultimately his father, Rich, who contacted the authorities about his radicalization in 2015.

Last month, prominent ex-Muslim writers who are now Christians urged the West to spurn the idea that Islamic terror attacks are the “new normal,” a phrase they say emboldens the terrorists to continue rampaging.
