Why are we doing this?

MS13 Gang Members are being released:

BALKANIZATION BECKONS

By: Patrick J. Buchanan

Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, “It’s so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.”
Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country, and remain here.
In 2007, backed by John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Barack Obama, Bush backed amnesty for the 12 million people who had entered America illegally.
The nation thundered no. And Congress sustained the nation.
The latest mass border crossing by scores of thousands of tots, teenagers and toughs from Central America has killed amnesty in 2014, and probably for the duration of the Obama presidency.
Indeed, with the massive media coverage of the crisis on the border, immigration, legal and illegal, and what it portends for our future, could become the decisive issue of 2014 and 2016.
But it needs to be put in a larger context. For this issue is about more than whether the Chamber of Commerce gets amnesty for its members who have been exploiting cheap illegal labor.
The real issue: Will America remain one nation, or are we are on the road to Balkanization and the breakup of America into ethnic enclaves? For, as Ronald Reagan said, a nation that cannot control its borders isn’t really a nation anymore.
In Federalist No. 2, John Jay wrote,
“Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people — a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs … “
He called Americans a “band of brethren, united to each other by the strongest ties.” The republic of the founders for whom Jay spoke did not give a fig for diversity. They cherished our unity, commonality, and sameness of ancestry, culture, faith and traditions.
We were not a nation of immigrants in 1789.
They came later. From 1845-1849, the Irish fleeing the famine. From 1890-1920, the Germans. Then the Italians, Poles, Jews and other Eastern Europeans. Then, immigration was suspended in 1924.
From 1925 to 1965, the children and grandchildren of those immigrants were assimilated, Americanized. In strong public schools, they were taught our language, literature and history, and celebrated our holidays and heroes. We endured together through the Depression and sacrificed together in World War II and the Cold War.
By 1960, we had become truly one nation and one people.
America was not perfect. No country is. But no country ever rivaled what America had become. She was proud, united, free, the first nation on earth. And though the civil rights movement had just begun, nowhere did black peoples enjoy the freedom and prosperity of African-Americans.
Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday that America is today in “a fundamentally better place than we were 50 years ago.”
In some ways that is so. Equality of rights has been realized. Miraculous cures in medicine have kept alive many of us who would not have survived the same maladies half a century ago.
But we are no longer that “band of brethren.” We are no longer one unique people “descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion.”
We are from every continent and country. Nearly 4 in 10 Americans trace their ancestry to Asia, Africa and Latin America. We are a multiracial, multilingual, multicultural society in a world where countless countries are being torn apart over race, religion and roots.
We no longer speak the same language, worship the same God, honor the same heroes or share the same holidays. Christmas and Easter have been privatized. Columbus is reviled. Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee are out of the pantheon. Cesar Chavez is in.
Our politics have become poisonous. Our political parties are at each other’s throats.
Christianity is in decline. Traditional churches are sundering over moral issues like abortion and same-sex marriage. Islam is surging.
Our society seems to be disintegrating. Over 40 percent of all births now are illegitimate. Among Hispanics, the figure is 52 percent. Among African-Americans, 73 percent.
And among children born to single moms, the drug use rate and the dropout rate, the crime rate and the incarceration rate, are many times higher than among children born to married parents.
If a country is a land of defined and defended borders, within which resides a people of a common ancestry, history, language, faith, culture and traditions, in what sense are we Americans one nation and one people today?
Neocons say we are a new kind of nation, an ideological nation erected upon a written Constitution and Bill of Rights.
But equality, democracy and diversity are not mentioned in the Constitution. As for what our founding documents mean, even the Supreme Court does not agree.
More and more, 21st-century America seems to meet rather well Metternich’s depiction of Italy — “a geographic expression.”

  1. Total Nonsense

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, a stalwart ally of President Obama, has landed in an escalating fight with the White House over what to do about thousands of unaccompanied children streaming across the U.S. border.

It started Friday, when O’Malley declared that returning the children to their home countries, as Obama has suggested, would send them “back to certain death.” That prompted an angry response from White House officials and accusations of hypocrisy when O’Malley opposed locating a shelter for the children in a Maryland county.

But the Democratic governor, who is considering a bid for president in 2016, did not budge from his position in interviews Wednesday.

“We are Americans, and we do not return refugee kids who find themselves on our doorstep back into war-torn or famine-racked places where they will face certain death,” O’Malley said. “I think we have to act like Americans.”

    1. In 2008 GW Bush signed legislation that required children to have a Court hearing prior to deportation.
With the current number of Judges, the time between arrest and that hearing, a minimum of three years.

  2. Illegal immigrants are being allowed to board passenger jets without having any identification, the National Border Patrol Council has claimed.

The union for border workers told Breitbart that immigrants who have been released from holding centers while they wait for their court date are being allowed to travel freely without identification.

The only paperwork they need to show airlines is their Notice to Appear forms, a simple print out with no photo or security features.

The claims come amid a surge of illegal immigrants, many of them children, that have overwhelmed facilities along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Hector Garza, the spokesman for one of the NBPC's branches, said that illegal immigrants were able to use the simple form to board any commercial airliner.

  3. In Philadelphia one of Obama’s Dreamers:

BRAHAM CORDOVA left Guatemala for the U.S. at age 17, telling his mother and grandmother that he was going to make something of himself, his lawyer said in court yesterday.

But as an undocumented immigrant who didn't speak English and had no education, he instead fell into depression and alcoholism and - on April 11 of last year - viciously attacked a 63-year-old woman with brass knuckles during a home invasion.

The attack, at a Rhawnhurst apartment complex on Loretto Avenue near Borbeck, left the woman blind in her left eye.

Yesterday, Cordova, 27, who left his home country to escape a life of chopping sugar cane, was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in state prison by Common Pleas Judge Ann Butchart.

He had been arrested four days after the attack and, on Jan. 24, pleaded no contest to attempted murder, causing serious bodily injury, burglary, attempted rape and possession of an instrument of crime.

Public defender Conor Wilson, in arguing for a 3 1/2- to 15-year sentence, told Butchart that Cordova pleaded no contest in part to spare the victim the pain of having to testify at trial. Cordova never intended to kill or rape the victim, Wilson said, and a DUI from 2008 was his only other criminal infraction.

The night of the attack, Cordova had been drinking at a bar, later met a woman at a carryout restaurant and went home with her only to be enraged when she slammed her apartment door in his face, Wilson said.

He went outside and tried to climb through the woman's back window but instead climbed into the victim's apartment, Wilson said.

Through a Spanish interpreter, Cordova said: "I ask for pardon for what happened. I feel bad for that."

  4. Rittenhouse Square is a prime center city area:

The man charged with raping a woman in her Rittenhouse Square apartment last weekend was caught illegally entering the country from Mexico last year, according to customs officials.

No criminal charges were filed against Milton Mateo Garcia at the time, records show. Garcia, whom federal authorities identified as Milton Garcia-Vazquez, is from Honduras and was deported in June 2013, said Gillian Christensen, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

It is unclear when Garcia returned to the United States, but until this week he had worked in the kitchens of three local restaurants for several months. Tashan, an Indian restaurant on Broad Street, released a statement saying Garcia had presented all required documents before he was hired as a part-time employee.

Philadelphia police sought charges against Garcia this week of rape, burglary, and other offenses. They say he forced a 26-year-old woman into her apartment at 19th and Spruce Streets and assaulted her.

ICE officials have lodged a detainer against Garcia, which allows the agency to take him into custody once local authorities are done with him.

When illegal immigrants are first caught illegally entering the country, border agents generally fingerprint them, warn that they will face prison if they return illegally, and send them to their home country. Those from Mexico are usually escorted across the border. Those from Honduras and other countries usually are flown home.

Illegal reentry, which can carry a two-year prison sentence, has become the most commonly recorded lead charge in the federal court system, with nearly 40,000 prosecutions each year, records show.

  5. There are many Dreamers in Philadelphia

Ruslan Burshteyn asked a poignant question after his mother, Lyudmila, was carjacked and murdered by an illegal immigrant with a criminal record.

How did Lenroy Laurance, who hails from Jamaica, escape deportation when he was released from a Brooklyn jail years before the murder? (See my previous post here: http://bit.ly/sME6qi)

If Laurance had been banished, he would never have crossed Lyudmila's path in Philadelphia on Sept. 2, 2009. Laurance had forced her to lie on the floor in the back of the car for six tortuous hours before he shot her to death in a Burlco field.

Khaalid Walls, spokesman for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) tried to make sense of what had happened. Laurance's case is not unique and illustrates the "difficulties involved in deporting illegal aliens," he said in an e-mail.

Before ICE can send a felon home it must get "travel documents" from the country of origin.

If birth certificates can't be located; if a country refuses to cooperate and issue the required documents, or if there is some other obstacle that would prevent deportation within 180 days, ICE must release that person.

The Supreme Court, Walls said, has ruled that felons cannot be confined indefinitely unless they pose a national security threat or meet some other limited criteria.

During the time the felon is free, ICE continues to work on getting the paperwork in order. The felon is supposed to periodically check in.

At one point, Laurance, who was convicted of selling drugs and robbery, went AWOL. Jamaica is one of 27 countries that delay the removal process, making it difficult for ICE to do its work.

Before Laurance was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder Friday, Ruslan thanked prosecutors for doing all they could to get justice for his mother, a Russian Jew who became a U.S. citizen after her family fled the former Soviet Union.

  6. When Arizona tried to enforce its own standards on illegal immigration, it was told that the issue is exclusively a federal matter. Philadelphia seems to think otherwise.

State and local law enforcement have traditionally tried to cooperate with their federal counterparts. In maintaining good relations, they hope federal agencies will help when backup is needed.

That's how it traditionally works with immigration. When federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) learns that a state or local agency is holding someone whose fingerprints and identity match a person it is seeking to deport, ICE issues a detainer request. That request means a person can be held up to 48 hours until ICE can confirm the information and take custody.
On April 16, Mayor Nutter issued an executive order directing city officials to refuse to honor ICE detainers unless all of four conditions are satisfied:

The individual must have been convicted of a crime. Not charged with a crime, however serious, but convicted of a crime.

The criminal conviction must be for a felony.

    The felony must involve violence.

Most important, there must be an outstanding judicial warrant for the detention.

  11. Business interests and the ruling elites welcome increasing illegal immigration as a means to hold down wages and working conditions for American workers. Both Democratic and Republican lawbreakers are responsive to the interests of the richest 1 percent, who fund their campaigns. Does anyone believe our political system is operating in the best interests of working-class native Americans and Philadelphians?

  12. It's a little more complex than that but the Republicans and some big businesses certainly bear lots of blame for the immigration mess. And the Chamber of Commerce is a bad joke on the issue.

Wouldn't most businesses want to take the business south instead of having labor come up here where there is at least a minimum wage? Certainly many have. Democrats want votes.

  16. Many of the thousands of illegal immigrant children and teens crossing the United States border are carrying deadly contagious diseases that could easily create a major health crisis in this country, doctors say.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

    1. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Dr. Jane Orient, an internal medicine specialist and the Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), said that by admitting these huge groups of children who come from countries where medical screenings are minimal and hygiene is poor, the United States is at risk for epidemics of serious diseases and viruses that the nation has not seen in years.

“Tuberculosis (TB) is the single most dangerous disease because it is highly contagious and can be easily picked up at the mall, at a school, or on the bus,” Orient told Breitbart News. “Cases coming from south of the U.S. border can be very resistant to medications. They don’t respond to traditional antibiotics, and the few drugs they may respond to are often toxic, with lots of side effects.”

“Legal immigrants have always been required to undergo health screenings,” Orient continued, “but these kids coming have no medical screenings and no vaccine records. They’re likely coming here with a number of infectious diseases that will spread like wildfire.”

“Norovirus is also an extremely contagious virus with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea,” she explained. “All we need is one outbreak of that virus and we would have an overwhelming public health crisis.”

“We use a lot of intravenous fluids to rehydrate people who have these types of illnesses. What if we have a shortage of IV fluids? Our emergency rooms would be overloaded.”

“We no longer have natural immunity against diseases such as measles and chicken pox because we haven’t had them in this country for years,” Orient said. “Many doctors have never even seen these diseases so may not recognize them.”

Orient said that while the public health risks are enough of a serious concern, she also is worried about the psychological trauma of these young children sent away from their families at such an early age.

“Despite the reasons we hear about why families are sending babies and toddlers across the U.S. border, there’s no substitute for a mother’s love and closeness, even if you live in a dangerous area, with gangs and drug cartels,” Orient said. “Why not build secure facilities in Guatemala, for example, instead of sending toddlers and children on a dangerous trip where they’ll encounter even more criminals?”

Writing at The Monitor on Friday, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet, a physician with practices in both Tucson and Dallas, agreed with Orient. She noted that the “invisible travelers” coming across the U.S. border, in addition to TB and measles, include hepatitis, malaria, Chagas disease – a parasitic infection – and dengue fever.

“A public health crisis, the likes of which I have not seen in my lifetime, is looming,” Vliet stated.

Hardest hit by exposures to these difficult-to-treat diseases will be elderly, children, immunosuppressed cancer patients, and patients with chronic lung disease or congestive heart failure. Drug-resistant tuberculosis is the most serious risk, but even diseases like measles can cause severe complications and death.

“Other illnesses, along with scabies and head lice, also thrive as children are transported by bus and herded into crowded shelters – courtesy of the federal government,” wrote Vliet. “And treatment costs are borne by taxpayers.”

Orient affirmed that, in Tucson, school buildings that have not been in use in years are being considered as shelters for the young illegal immigrants.

“Some of these buildings are in total disrepair, having been vandalized for years, and, of course, there is no security,” she explained.

“Our public health departments complain of being overtaxed by a dozen cases of measles or whooping cough,” Vliet wrote. “How will they cope with thousands of patients with many different, and uncommon, diseases? Americans, especially Medicaid patients, will see major delays for treatment.”

There is the issue of transfer payments taken from lawful citizens based on their income and real estate for purposes of social services and public education and a seven billion pool of foreign people that can unilaterally tap into those funds by breaking US immigration and national entry laws.

To argue otherwise renders the concept of a community obsolete and a community without shared values is ungovernable.

If you have laws that are optional for the aristocratic and political elites at one end and allow a call on US social services by seven billion non US citizens on the other end and expect 300 million US citizens to tolerate that, then I do not understand the predictability of human behavior.

The federal government is so overwhelmed by the current tide of migrants crossing the border it can’t provide basic medical screening to all of the children before transporting them – often by air – to longer-term holding facilities across the country, ABC News has learned.

The director of refugee health in the federal Health and Human Services Department “has identified a breakdown of the medical screening processes at the Nogales, Arizona, facility,” according to an internal Department of Defense memo reviewed by ABC News. The “breakdown” a systemic failure of the handoff of these children between CBP and HHS.

Inside the government, officials are sounding alarms, fearing that they and their teams who come in contact with the sick children face potential exposure to infectious diseases from chicken pox to influenza, including rare cases of H1N1, more commonly called swine flu.

Two unaccompanied children were flown from Nogales to California despite having 101-degree fevers and flu-like symptoms, according to the Department of Defense memo. Those children had to be hospitalized.

The memo said pointedly that officials in charge of moving the immigrants from Border Patrol processing centers to Health and Human Services facilities are “putting sick [fevers and coughing] unaccompanied children on airplanes inbound for [Naval Base Ventura County] in addition to the chicken pox and coxsackie virus cases.”

The document said three other kids were in the ICU at local hospitals in California, and two of them were diagnosed with strep pneumonia.

Less than a week later, that same Ventura Naval Base suffered an outbreak of pneumonia and influenza among the unaccompanied minors inside the shelter.

“Preliminary reports indicate that several unaccompanied minors in the shelter had become ill with what appears to be pneumonia and influenza,” according to a statement from the Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services.

HHS told ABC News the children were supposed to be screened for sickness before leaving the Border Patrol screening centers.

    7. “When the children arrive at U.S. border stations,” the ACF statement read, “they are screened for health problems and given medical treatment if needed.”

But, according to the memo ABC News reviewed, “Curi Kim [the HHS director of the Division of Refugee Health] has identified a breakdown of the medical screening processes at the Nogales, Arizona, facility. The [unaccompanied children] were initially screened and cleared upon entry into that facility with no fever or significant symptoms. They were not however re-screened and cleared for travel and placement at a temporary shelter.”

While confirming to ABC News the outbreak occurred, HHS would not respond to inquiries about the DOD memo showing sick children were knowingly sent to Naval Base Ventura prior to the outbreak.

“My biggest concerns are with the health of these children,” said Richard Besser, ABC News’ chief health and medical editor. “They are victims going through incredibly stressful circumstances and some will have health issues that need to be treated. Some come from countries that don’t vaccinate against pneumonia or meningitis. They need those vaccines. Some come from countries where it is flu season. They need that vaccine, too. The big health risks are among these children, not to our communities.”

Once kids are in HHS custody they receive exams and vaccinations, and are screened for tuberculosis, according to ACF, but more serious illnesses such as meningitis and polio are of little concern for causing an outbreak.

“Children from this region of the world participate in comprehensive childhood vaccination programs, similar to the United States, and are generally well protected from most vaccine-preventable diseases,” ACF said in a statement.

Not to worry. Anyone following the news over the last few days has seen the executive actions he has been taking. Throwing money at the problem and modifying existing travel laws to the benefit of illegals isn't going to solve the current problems but only exasperate them. There has to be something to turn off the spigot.

Modifying or reversing the current law passed in 2008 would be a good start. Not relaxing existing laws meant to guarantee safety and security would be another.

Those who express concern and say 'think of the children' should stop their mewling and think of the children. Interviews with immigrants detail the suffering they endure through their entire journey, financial, physical, and the abuse they suffer at each step of the journey. And when they reach the US?

The 2008 law was passed to help curb the abuses of human trafficking, yet upon arrival

But CBP detention facilities have long been the epicenter of what many adult immigrants claim are severe human and civil rights abuses by officials. According to a complaint by the American Civil Liberties Union’s Border Litigation project and four other immigrants rights groups, child detainees are equally—if not more often—subjected to the same harsh conditions and physical, verbal and sexual abuse reported by their adult counterparts. Consistent, too, with a recent report by the American Immigration Council that 97 percent of Border Patrol complaints filed between 2009 and 2012 did not result in any action, children who report abuses to CBP officials mostly are ignored.

      http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/11/detained-immigrant-children-report-physical-verbal-and-sexual-abuse-by-border-patrol-agents.html

      And the government response,

Disappointingly, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has proposed a rule that explicitly excludes immigration detention facilities from coverage under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Congress enacted PREA to protect all persons in custody by setting standards for preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse. But without PREA's protection, immigrants in detention remain vulnerable to abuse. For a population at such high risk of sexual abuse, this is unacceptable.

As a result, detention of immigrants has become something of a boom industry in America, with 250 facilities now operating across the country where more than 30,000 detainees are held at any one time, more than 60% of whom were of Mexican origin.

The documents released to ACLU under freedom of information are heavily redacted, but give an insight into the kind of abuse complaints that are regularly being raised. One complaint alleged that they were made to strip naked in front of two other individuals while at a detention centre in Orange County, California. "It was also alleged that the complainant was laughed at mockingly in an intimidating fashion."

Other complaints ranged from inappropriate touching to forceful fondling and rape.

Mexico is a shambles, for a variety of reasons, some of which are heavily influenced by US, many of which are not at all.

The vast majority of the children are not from Mexico.

Massive investments in social welfare programs could, possibly, keep them at home. There are no assurances of that taking place. Their home countries do not have the resources to fund massive investments in social welfare programs, regardless.

The economic systems that govern those countries were put in place, by US, after General Butler did his duty down there.
His efforts have been reinforced, both politically, economically and occasionally by force of arms, since then.
All three aspects of power projection have utilized both direct action and the use of proxies, by US.

Someone above mentioned that the situation was all political. I would agree at least that the government response to the problem is definitely political.

  31. Australian court drops racism case against professor who backs BDS
Jake Lynch had rejected an application by an Israeli colleague and cited a University of Sydney institution’s support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions efforts.

SYDNEY – In what is being hailed as a victory for the global boycott of Israel campaign, the Federal Court of Australia has dismissed a case waged by an Israeli-based NGO to find a Sydney academic in breach of the country’s anti-racism laws.

In Sydney on Wednesday, Judge Alan Robertson dismissed the case by the Shurat HaDin Israel Law Center against Jake Lynch, who heads the University of Sydney’s Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies....

The judge also ordered the group to pay Lynch’s costs, though the sum is to be agreed.

    1. Shurat HaDin then took legal action – even though Jewish-community leaders counseled against it lest the suit boost the BDS movement. Avnon did not support the group's case.

“This court case has been an attempt to stifle BDS activism, both here in Australia and around the world,” Lynch told Haaretz on Thursday. “I have won a comprehensive legal victory, which is also a win for political freedom.”

He added: “Never has it been clearer that BDS can make a vital contribution to the prospects for peace with justice.”
      ...
Shurat HaDin’s case began to crumble earlier this year when the judge told the group’s lawyers to focus on Lynch rather than argue a virtual class action on behalf of all Israelis. The case collapsed this month when it became clear there were no plaintiffs left, and because Shurat HaDin, as an organization, could not claim it had been “directly impacted” by Lynch’s actions.

The litigation – a test case for BDS that was being watched closely in academic circles – was strongly opposed by Jewish leaders, with the Executive Council of Australian Jewry saying it was “opposed to litigation if it is pursued merely as a political tactic.”

Dr. Danny Lamm, president of the Zionist Federation of Australia, saw little good in the result.

“It was very disappointing that having written directly to [Shurat HaDin’s head] Nitsana [Darshan-Leitner] discouraging her action, she chose to ignore our reasoned arguments and proceed,” he said. “As for Jake Lynch, I think he is largely discredited in any event.”

Robert Goot, president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, added that the ruling “gives us no joy at all to have had our views vindicated.”

“The boycott campaign is a calculated attempt to demonize, isolate and ultimately dismantle Israel through the distortion of international law and human rights,” he said.

  34. More on the precision shelling of the Gaza beach by IDF sharp shooters

NBC journalists and editors appear to be angry about this incident, since, unusually for American television news, they dared be quite frank in their language about Israeli culpability. Veteran correspondent Richard Engels pointed out that despite Hamas’s largely ineffectual rockets, it is the Palestinians of Gaza who are bearing the brunt of Israeli bombardment, since they have no shelter and nowhere to go.

“It was broad daylight. There was no warning . It wasn’t the precision war Israel says it is fighting… Israel claimed that it was firing at Hamas militants at the port. But the dead were four young boys.” That is, NBC just called the Israeli military bald-faced liars, because there were no Hamas militants on that beach, just children playing.

What can we conclude from this sickening attack?

    1. Israel actually has quite bad intelligence about Gaza. The Israeli navy thought it was bombarding militants when it was actually just shelling a civilian beach with little children running around on it.
    2. Israel doesn’t know exactly what it is shelling. The Israelis clearly saw the four little boys running away, and deliberately fired another shell at them, killing them. The gunner surely thought he had Hamas in his sights. In fact, they were just little boys, deliberately targeted and killed as they were trying to get away.
    3. Israel’s so-called warnings to Palestinians to leave are absurd, because the civilians have no place to go in tiny Gaza.
    4. This is not a precision war on Israel’s part. The Israeli officers outside Gaza are just hitting any old target and then declaring it a Hamas depot.
    5. Israel’s response to the incident, that it will conduct an investigation, is pure propaganda. The Israeli government almost never finds against itself. The passive aggressive phraseology is a dead giveaway.
The shelling of boys on a beach is symbolic of the aggressive paranoia of the Likud government.

Now Hamas launched an UNSUCCESSFUL attack:

IDF forces foiled an attempt by Hamas terrorists to infiltrate a kibbutz near the Gaza frontier through an underground tunnel before dawn on Thursday, the army announced. Soldiers manning the border area identified 13 terrorists who crossed into Israeli territory near Kibbutz Sufa through a tunnel that was dug in the southern Gaza Strip.

The army said that the troops "neutralized the threat." There was no exact number of casualties in the gunfire, though it was confirmed that no Israeli troops suffered injuries.

SO if these "soldiers" had reached the civilian town, butchered the kids... you'd say that was the exact same thing as the beach killing of 4?

If so, why should Israel warn gazans, why should Israel even care about civilians and not target them like the hamas?

    3. Israel is half-stepping, and "O"rdure finds that to be an excuse for murdering civilians.
The NASI could have murdered more, so let's excuse them the trespasses they have committed.

      Comical.

At least they have stopped comparing Israel to the terrorists of Boko Haram.
Though the comparison was both apt and accurate.

  39. Kiev’s accusations that Russia shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 fighter jet are “absurd,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

... The Russian official, whose name was not disclosed, criticized Ukraine’s military management for lacking understanding and experience.

"You don’t need to be an expert to understand, after looking at bios of [Ukraine’s] current military management, and especially the ‘anti-terrorist operation’, that these people do not have either military education or practical experience of organized planning and use of troops and weapons,”

Egypt blames Hamas for IDF's ground offensive
Egyptian Foreign minister says Palestinian lives could have been saved if Hamas would have accepted their cease-fire proposal.
The Egyptian foreign minister said Thursday that Hamas is at fault for the IDF's need to enter Gaza in a ground operation.

"Had Hamas accepted the Egyptian proposal, it could have saved the lives of at least 40 Palestinians," said Sameh Shoukri, Egypt's FM, as reported by Egyptian state news agency MENA.
