    1. Management by man = Socialism & Communism and Fascism.
While nature, in it' own way equates to liberty and freedom.

There are contributors, here at the Libertarian, that bitch incessantly and bemoan government interference in the economy, in the society and in the culture, while defending and applauding those same type of efforts by the government to control the natural world.

Why would they suppose Obama and his ilk could manage Yellowstone, or the land of the western United States better than they manage Health Care or the over all state of the Economy?

Why would they advocate freedom from government for themselves, but not for nature?

Why do they suppose that man can manage the wild, better than man can manage Detroit or Chicago and New York City, just for examples?

Their hypocrisy is so evident, it'd make a sane man crazy attempting to understand their irrational behavior.

The answer is not to 'walk away' from the challenges presented and evidenced currently, due to the past land and natural resource management disasters perpetuated by the government, but to try to set the scales right. To restore the natural balance that has been destroyed, by human management of the wild places in the country.

The 'wild' horse, managed by the BLM are another shining example of political incompetence in the management of natural resources, defended by fools and knaves, here at the libertarian.

One more chance to post the Ode du Boobi.

Wolf Bane (Le Chant du Boobi): Outfitters and Guides and the Lies That They Lay in Order to Make a Buck

sub-title: How the Uneducated and Woebegone Cling to Fairy Tales from Their Past And Snake Oil in the Present

Wolves and wargs and dwarfs and trolls and things that go bump in the night
These are the things that scare the dull and slow and give Ideeho villagers a fright

So they gather their children and gather their cats and bar the doors to their huts
They stoke their fires and hide under the bed and cower like whimpering mutts

For the snow is crisp and the snow is deep, the wolf bane blooms and the moon is bright
Were-rabbits creep forth but the hicks pay no heed for Fenrir comes out at night

The Idaho hayseeds clutch their pitchforks and pikes and spread poisons as they pray to be saved
For the guides and outfitters and the pricks and the pols predict the threat from the wolves remains grave

For soon they’ll no longer be free to lay bait and hunt in pajamas from porches
Instead out-of-shape yokels must trek up the hill, struggling with gear, looking for spoor, wading through muck, and sometimes carrying torches

For the elk will have all gone higher up in the hills searching for safety in faraway glens
And fat-assed hicks will be found by the trail clutching their chests as their hearts finally fail and swearing by god that the truth in the end is that it was that faraway wolf that at last did them in.

More unqualified medical services showing up under Obamacare

POSTED AT 2:31 PM ON MARCH 1, 2014 BY JAZZ SHAW - Hot Air

Nearly a year ago now, I took a look at an unsettling trend in medical practices in the age of Obamacare. As states struggle to keep up with restrictions and fiscal strains under the provisions of the new law, people were looking to both cut costs and make up for a decreasing number of doctors. One area which was being considered was lowering the bar for who could be licensed to perform certain practices. This was of particular concern in the area of eye care, where Kentucky was looking at expanding the role of optometrists (who are not medical doctors), allowing them to perform certain procedures typically left to ophthalmologists.

It seems that this trend has not gone away as Obamacare gears up to full speed, and a similar move is now under consideration in nearby Tennessee.

60 Plus Association, the nation’s leading conservative senior advocate organization is calling on Tennessee lawmakers to oppose House Bill 555 and Senate Bill 220. These bills would allow optometrists – who are not medical doctors and do not go through surgical residency training– to inject anesthesia into the tissues surrounding the eye and perform scalpel surgery on the eyelid. The proposal to expand the legal scope of practice by non-medical eye care providers follows along a similar path that optometrists and legislators in California are currently pursuing in their implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly referred to as ObamaCare…

Jim Martin, Chairman of 60 Plus, explained that among the many problems related with Obamacare, it is resulting in states considering proposals to re-define who can practice medicine and surgery. “It’s one thing for politicians in California to be pushing these radical proposals to implement Obamacare, but why would lawmakers in Tennessee even consider similar legislation that dumbs down patient safety standards,” Martin said. “Our seniors were promised we could keep our health plans and our doctors. Neither promise rang true. But what is true is that Obamacare is tempting states into legislating a new type of doctor or surgeon, one that doesn’t have to go through medical school or residency to perform surgery, but rather to the state legislature instead.
As the article mentions, there has been a similar move underway in California, and it’s no less controversial there. They tried the same thing in Louisiana last year, but the public outcry was such that it was abandoned by its own sponsor. While the temptation to lower the bar and make up for shortfalls under Obamacare is obviously compelling for legislatures, it’s hard to find any unbiased observer who thinks this is a good idea.

I would like to stress yet again that this is not a knock against optometrists. I see one myself on a yearly basis and they do very important work. But if they don’t have the same level of training as an ophthalmologist in terms of performing surgical procedures or the duties of an anesthesiologist, do we really want to begin assigning them this work simply because a new federal law is driving qualified professionals out of the marketplace? That sounds like a very dodgy tradeoff.

Gee… if only someone had warned us about all of this before they voted the law into place. (/sarc)

    ******

Here we have another new and previously unmentioned problem with ObamaCare.

You can keep your doctor, but he may not be a doctor.

Question: Should veterinarians be allowed to practice on humans under ObamaCare?

SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine — Russian armed forces seized control of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula on Saturday, as the Russian Parliament granted President Vladimir V. Putin broad authority to use military force in response to the political upheaval that dislodged a Kremlin ally and installed a new, staunchly pro-Western government.

Russian troops stripped of identifying insignia but using military vehicles bearing the license plates of Russia’s Black Sea force swarmed the major thoroughfares of Crimea, encircled government buildings, closed the main airport and seized communication hubs, solidifying what began on Friday as a covert effort to control the largely pro-Russian region.

n Moscow, Mr. Putin convened the upper house of Parliament to grant him authority to use military force to protect Russian citizens and soldiers not only in Crimea but throughout Ukraine. Both actions — military and parliamentary — were a direct rebuff to President Obama, who on Friday pointedly warned Russia to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

The US attacks Libya to protect Libyans from their government, yet Obama is peeved when the Russians do the same, in the Ukraine. With the blessing of Ukraine's elected President.

  13. The Russians even have a "Gulf of Tonkin" provocation to respond to.
Plus a cry for help from the Crimean leadership, to boot!

Earlier in the day, the new prime minister of the Crimea region, Serhiy Aksyonov, appealed to Putin for help maintaining “peace and tranquility.”

In short order, the Russian Foreign Ministry claimed that “unidentified gunmen directed from Kiev” had tried to capture the Crimean Interior Ministry headquarters. Calling the attempt a “treacherous provocation,” Moscow said, “We believe it is irresponsible to continue whipping up the already tense situation in the Crimea.”

Igor Aveytskiy, who was named by the Kiev government to serve as chief of Crimea’s national police, said there was no attack.

“It’s all rumors, all lies,” said Mikhail Amirov, a member of a pro-Russia self-defense militia on guard in front of the headquarters building

But Moscow apparently had the allegation it needed.

A committee of the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, asked Putin to intervene. He made his request, and the Federation Council, the upper house, promptly gave it unanimous approval. The authorization does not limit the troops to Crimea but allows them to be sent to all of Ukraine.

On Saturday afternoon, 10 troop carriers, accompanied by armored jeeps, arrived at the Ukrainian coast guard base in the resort town of Balaklava and took up positions inside and outside the installation. Russian Orthodox priests stood among the troops and sang hymns.

Well, as I once stood in and represented the pirates and piratesses of the blog in our struggle against the 1% here who were actually producers, I now stand in as surrogate for our resident knave/fool, Bob, aka Farmer Bob, aka Anonymous, aka bob, aka Anonymous-Bob, who is currently off looting Indian Casinos in Idaho.

I speak in response to aspersions cast upon that gentle, some would say simple, lad by the outlaw poster rat who often goes by the moniker Jack Hawkins .

The latest ratiquity against Simple Bob was posted upstream, to wit, "The fellow that just last Sunday wanted to butcher the people of Arizona, then sell the meat to foreigners, is awash in a sea of futility."

    :-o

    I know.

Rather a mixed metaphor there, but still.

To summarize the incident in question,

Rat put's up a post about how horses in the southwest are being held by the government at hefty expense. He argues they should be butchered and the meat sold, possibly to the French or whoever.

Bob, cavalierly suggests the horses should be shot just like the wolves in Idaho.

Rat is appalled that anyone would suggest the horses be killed without using the meat to feed people.

Bob says 'Lighten up, rat. I was just kidding. Go ahead and butcher the horses if you like.'

Deuce jumps in and suggests the horses be set free. Rat is metagrabolized by the suggestion.

Deuce then adds to the fun by saying "The argument that they [the horses] are not native is amazing in light of the fact that neither are Europeans native."

To which Bob replies, Exactly. Shoot the Arizonans as well, give the meat to the poor.

    To which rat responds,

Farmer Bob threatened my life, last Sunday.
Me and all the other residents of Arizona.
Said we should be shot and our carcasses sold for their meat.

I did not find it at all 'humorous'.
Do not think that threatening genocide is 'funny'.

I take umbrage at the threat and will not let it go.

    Whew!

Truth be told, in the proceeding contretemps, I am embarrassed to say my sympathy rests with Deuce even though it is obvious he was the instigator that caused the whole kurfuffle. But I have decided to eschew the role of either advocate or arbiter and instead present the case to you, the blog, so that you can decide for yourself where you think the fault lies. To that end, I offer the following quiz to assure the principals in this affair are clear in your minds.

Please, based on your considered opinion, match up the names in the numbered column with the descriptions in the lettered column that seem most appropriate.

If I were to go to the trouble of putting up a thread, I'd name it R.I.P. - THE LIBERTARIAN CEMETERY, then in due regard to Deuce's love of art, have a graveyard with gravestones and the names of the Libertarian departed, fleeing from Jackrat and his insanity, to a better lighted world, with Van Gogh crows and such flying around from one of his beautiful paintings, Munch's The Scream, representative of Jackrat's schizophrenic mind, a religious painting with sun showing through the clouds on the far horizon, etc etc etc.........a disarmed powerless policeman representing Deuce the Enabler, etcetc......along with some appropriate ethanol glance to Rufus......etc

    That sort of thing....

Quirk, if you or Doug were to put up an alternative thread.......

Survival bunker on a farm? This from a guy who had to give away a dog he loved because he couldn't provide it the open space it needed. riiiight!

You didn't watch the video did you? He's not selling survival bunkers.

Could someone please update me on the sordid details?
    Somehow I missed that one.

"Farmer" Bob sacrificed his dog for the guilty pleasures of Big City Life in Idaho?

What sort of man would sacrifice his best friend for the Casinos?

He gambled with his soul, and apparently has lost it.

Clearly the Nigerian government cannot control these jihadists, and is rapidly losing any control it does have. If the victims were Muslims and the perpetrators non-Muslims, the world […]

      Nitwit.

You could have gone to Souls-R-Us Publications, LLC and picked up a significant discount of a three year subscription to Hustler Magazine.

Instead of virtual stimulation, you could have had the genuine, original, in your face, tactile feel of hardcore porn. And if your wimpy little pussy mind still needs to wrap itself around some virtual googa, we include three DVD's, Jenny Had Eight Daddies and They Had Her, Ass Backwards, and the double-DVD special addition of The Long And Short of It.

      Damn your eyes.

I've told you before. It was a car accident, not my fault what with the goat and the SUV and the ice cream truck and all. I needed a penile transplant and the only one available was from that black Michigan State linebacker. Now, I have the bad back from having to carry it around 24/7 as well as the shame and the names, Two-tone, Slick, Zebra, Big-Boy, as well as, the women (and a good portion of men and horses) pointing and staring.

      I've had it.
