WASHINGTON (AP) -- Secretary of State John Kerry says the greatest challenge to U.S. foreign policy is not emerging China or Middle East instability. It's Congress. In a speech Wednesday at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Kerry cited the adage that "we can't be strong in the world unless we are strong at home." He called the budget impasse a threat. The State Department has said automatic spending cuts would jeopardize $2.6 billion in aid, security assistance and other international programs. Kerry said legislators need to avoid "senseless cuts." Otherwise, he said his credibility as a diplomat might be damaged.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Kerry. We need a new Congress. Without him, and a lot of others of his type.

ReplyDeleteYou asked me what I thought, and I answered precisely. You are becoming a dictator.

I guess we will be left wondering what it would have been.
The latest disinformation from the Obama administration.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to have to live through four years of John F. Kerry, SecState. God help us.
Biggest threats facing the country (according to Obama administration):
1. Sequestration
2. Conservative gun-toting hayseed Americans
Comment for previous thread:
Galloway may be a bomb-thrower but the Obama administration appears to have been clueless about the intent and extent of militant Islam, the RoP.
The Democrats are engaged in an all-out, all fronts assault on the Second Amendment. From the National level to the local level, using Obama's groundtroops, they are pressing the issue, hopeful that they can sustain the Newtown momentum. Locally, they are demonizing the "infestation of gun owners."
ReplyDeleteObama could put the EPA, HUD, NLRB, DOE, DOA on indefinite furlough, Cut the White House budget by 2/3, close 75% of all overseas bases, bring back the draft and no one will notice except the other drone problem. But he won’t.
ReplyDeleteA five million man march on DC, bearing their lawful personal weapons would be a thing to behold. Let them know who is boss. Visit some offices. Get to know each other sort of thing. Hell, bringing collector guns or replicates would make the point.
ReplyDeleteSequestration means $109 thousand million annual cuts for the next nine years. For context, our annual (2012) spending is $3.63 thousand billion.
ReplyDelete"Martial Law, anyone?". By 2020, the government will have 30,000 drones over the skies in the USA. We borrow or print 40 cents of every dollar we spend at the Federal Level. Our debts shall never, ever be repaid and when the interest rates go up will break us. I am going to go on record to predict much future "civil unrest". (Could this explain the vast purchases of ammo by the DHS and yet another gun grab by the government?) Obama will skip out after his disastrous rule to endless rounds on the links and billions from his grateful masters. We shall have to deal with the wreckage and it will be enormous.
DeleteThe lobbying done by the boys in their Mezlans and Santonis is far more lethal.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hammaknocka ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, but still remained at levels consistent with a steady improvement in labor market conditions.
ReplyDeleteInitial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 20,000 to a seasonally adjusted 362,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. The prior week's claims figure was revised to show 1,000 more applications received than previously reported.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected first-time applications to rise to 355,000. The increase in claims last week pushed them toward the upper end of their range for this year

How can Kerry lose his credibility when he never had any in the first place?
ReplyDeleteA recently introduced bill in the Illinois state Senate would require anonymous website comment posters to reveal their identities if they want to keep their comments online.
ReplyDeleteThe bill, called the Internet Posting Removal Act, is sponsored by Illinois state Sen. Ira Silverstein. It states that a “web site administrator upon request shall remove any comments posted on his or her web site by an anonymous poster unless the anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.”
JFKerry no longer speaks just for himself
ReplyDeleteNow he ...
Represents ... US.
This sequester, the GOP success of 2010 bearing fruit.
Kerry's a chump. He begged Obama on his hands and knees for the job. Got it because no one else wanted it. He is and will be a pariah.
ReplyDeleteKerry has played the second fiddle his whole life. He continues his struggle to find self relevance, which does not exist.
DeleteIt will be interesting to see if he and his wife's name pop up in the Heinz insider trading investigation.
Remember this one?
As a multimillionaire married to Teresa Heinz Kerry of the Heinz ketchup fortune, Kerry’s best known tax gaffe was mooring his $7 million yacht outside his home state of Massachusetts. Saving taxes on a pricey yacht might seem unpatriotic anywhere, but cheating your own state was worse. Kerry moored the vessel in Rhode Island so he could save the $500,000 in taxes a Massachusetts berth would trigger.
A true piece of shit.
Roger that.

way to go, Deuce!
DeleteA Washington reporter revealed Wednesday that a joking comment he made to a congressional aide unwittingly sparked a false rumor that Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel accepted money from a group called Friends of Hamas for a speech. Of course Breitbart.com reported it as gospel. This goes to show they will post anything they hear from anyone, without the least bit of fact checking. They pretend to be journalists, but they are nothing more then a political National Inquirer. Sadder still are the idiot politicians who quote their ridiculous lies and rumors without doing their own fact checking.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't win on your ideas (or lack thereof) and behavior, you resort to slander and lies in order to destroy a person's character. That is a skill that Republicans have developed to a fine art. The problem in this case is that they ask a question knowing that there is no way to provide an answer. And, they are in the process of attacking a Vietnam Veteran and former Senator who did not bow down to the Republican masters and was honest and forthright regarding national and international issues. Tyrants want to punish him to push their own petty political agendas. These folks have no shame. Any honest man in DC will be run out of town on a rail.
I really don't think the Republicans invented "gotcha questioning." The extremely liberal MSM not only invented it, but has also made a fine art of it over the years.
DeleteYou are putting Mr. Hagel on a high perch. I doubt he deserves it. As I have posted earlier, I have no problem with Hagel, but let's not go overboard with accolades just yet. He is still a DC hack, or he wouldnt be nominated.
Cutting spending works. Pass this ON!
ReplyDeleteRespected economists found 21 instances between 1970 and 2007 in which ten developed countries successfully reduced their debt-to-GDP ratio by 4.5 percent or more by relying predominantly or entirely on spending cuts. Countries that increased taxes were much less successful. When government debt shrank through spending cuts, jobs grew.
Neighboring Canada cut its debt by 12.8 percent of GDP between 1994 and 2006 and more than doubled its economic growth. Sweden cut spending by over 11 percent and spurred its economy to an annual growth rate of 3.4 percent. New Zealand experienced the same.
Why are the Republicans so dense that none of them is capable of getting out that message?
DeleteJust listened to a little of Mark Levin. He is tearing it up! Nothing new to anyone that has been reading this blog.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans, Duece, do not REALLY support spending cuts...
ReplyDeleteOr there'd have been spending cuts.
The GOP controls the House, thus the purse.
That's the reality of the current political situation.
