Pennsylvania taxes gross table games revenue at 16% (14% to the Commonwealth’s General Fund and 2% to local share fund) which resulted in $8,609,347 of tax revenue.
One time the advance elements of an invading army made it all the way to Harrisburg, but they had to turn around when General Meade showed up at a crossroads town further south, name of Gettysburg. Worst battle of the war, but some still blame Lincoln.
I have a work associate who runs our facility in Harrisburg. He has ran facilities all over the country and says the Harrisburg area produces people with the best work ethic of anywhere he has been.
There may be more depressing places to visit but for my taste this ranks up there with Nizhny Novgorod in February.
