Suicide cult
KARACHI, PAKISTAN -- A suicide bomber blew up his sport-utility vehicle in the middle of a village volleyball game in northwestern Pakistan on Friday afternoon, killing 75 people and injuring more than 100 in a community that has repeatedly defied Taliban extremists.
I don't know why they keep referring to these guys as Islamic Fundamentalists. That implies they are parallel to Christian Fundamentalists, who believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. A literal interpretation of Sura 4:29-30 says that suicide is forbidden.
[4:29] O you who believe, do not consume each others' properties illicitly - only mutually acceptable transactions are permitted. You shall not kill yourselves. GOD is Merciful towards you.
[4:30] Anyone who commits these transgressions, maliciously and deliberately, we will condemn him to Hell. This is easy for GOD to do.
So it seems that this new Islamic death cult is a radical, liberal interpretation of the Quran, one that completely "spiritualizes away" this clear command from Allah.
Well, my wine was delicious. I may be needing more of that every night.

The Sybian should not be used by women who are pregnant, have a heart condition, or if an intrauterine device is in place."

Heck, I know guys that for $1300 would let you use their nose, and they'd even help out with their tongue.
Mrs Rufus does appreciate it, however, if you remember to bring along some breath mints to give him when you're done.
Let's remember the ones we've lost (over the past 4.5 billion years.)

Us Rufians don't need no tips on "drinkin'." It's those Social Interactions (the fightin, shootin, high speed chases, cars in the river) that we has trouble with.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, if yer cousin starts flirting with yer cuzzin . . . er, wife, do you hit him with the red wine bottle, or the white wine bottle?
ReplyDeleteOr, let's say the local deppities has shot out your tires, and your chevy is sinkin in the bayou - do you pour another shooter o' shine for your cousin . . . er, girlfrind, or open the door for your other cuzzin . . . . er, wife? And, what do you do about the alligator that's chewin on her drawers?
ReplyDeleteThese is "Real," everday problems. Why don't nobody ever write a book about stuf like that?
This ones for you Ruf.

Now that you're used to that Onion smell, your ready to step in for the Sybian!

On Terrorism it's Time to Know, to Profile, and to Discriminate
ReplyDeleteby Newt Gingrich
After the Christmas Day near disaster in Detroit, it is time for Americans to demand effective anti-terrorist actions.
The scale, persistence and sophistication of the enemy requires an honesty, a clarity, and a scale appropriate to the response.
Once again, instead of targeting the source of the threats, our politically correct government decides to make life more miserable for the travelling public by imposing hopelessly meaningless rules such as not allowing passengers to leave their seats in the last hour of the flight. Bound by cultural sensitivities, the default reaction of the bureaucracy is to review the procedures and wring its hands ineffectively.
Protecting the Rights of Terrorists Has Been More Important than Protecting the Lives of Americans
That must now change decisively.
It is time to know more about would-be terrorists, to profile for terrorists and to actively discriminate based on suspicious terrorist information.
The United States should track down the owners of every website that promotes terrorism and systematically root them out. It should be as dangerous to a person promoting terrorism as it is to execute an act of terrorism.
The same should apply to the electronic communications of every known radical (and using these communications to track down every unknown radical).
The United States Must Actively Root Out Every Terrorist Website
The people behind these websites should be barred from getting a U.S. visa if not in the United States
We Need a “Grand National Strategy” That is Bigger Than the Debate Over Afghanistan
The emergence of Yemen as the new planning, equipping, and training center for terrorism should remind us we need a worldwide "grand national strategy" (to use the World War II term) that is far bigger than our current debate over Afghanistan.
Americans should also know that nearly half of the remaining detainees in Guantanamo are from Yemen.
Moreover, the report that 74 Guantanamo detainees who have been released are back in the war trying to kill Americans should stop any further effort to close Guantanamo or to release terrorists.
The New Honesty Should End Any Thought of a Civilian Trial in New York for KSM
Another triumph in Janet Napolitano's "Let's stay one step behind the terrorists" policy!
ReplyDeleteAn alien from the planet "Not Politically Correct" would have surveyed the situation after 9/11 and said: "You are at war with an enemy without uniforms, without morals, without a country and without a leader -- but the one advantage you have is they all look alike. ... What? ... What did I say?"
The only advantage we have in a war with stateless terrorists was ruled out of order ab initio by political correctness.
And so, despite 5 trillion Americans opening laptops, surrendering lip gloss and drinking breast milk in airports day after day for the past eight years, the government still couldn't stop a Nigerian Muslim from nearly blowing up a plane over Detroit on Christmas Day.
The "warning signs" exhibited by this particular passenger included the following:
His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
He's Nigerian.
He's a Muslim.
His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
He boarded a plane in Lagos, Nigeria.
He paid nearly $3,000 in cash for his ticket.
He had no luggage.
His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
Two months ago, his father warned the U.S. that he was a radical Muslim and possibly dangerous.
If our security procedures can't stop this guy, can't we just dispense with those procedures altogether? What's the point exactly?

ReplyDeleteNow the market is just returning to where it was supposed to be all along and people see this as some kind of tragedy.
ReplyDeleteThe tragedy was that home prices were distorted by lending conduits that acted more like crack dealers in the first place.
Then our “Dear Leaders” bailed them out instead of letting them be buried in this crap avalanche of their own making. You do something stupid and the market is supposed to mete out the punishment and bury you; but instead America failed and bailed them out. Extend and pretend etc etc.
Now we live in a Politburo society where you’re only successful if you can get close to the government hacks and get some sycophant sugar.
Absolutely abominable,,, or should I say, an Obamination. We are obviously no longer a nation of laws but a nation of men, like every other banana republic.
When will people realize that these politicians do not represent us.
Whether we are ruled through some dufus sock puppet who has no business speaking with a Texas accent or ruled by the latest politically correct looking Barbie who has no business using the word “Change” – we are ruled.

The Howard Stern Show
ReplyDeleteAlthough the Sybian has been featured in many pornographic video productions since the early 2000s, primarily on the Internet, the device came to prominence on The Howard Stern Show since the show's arrival on Sirius Satellite Radio.[6] Howard Stern was given a Sybian as a birthday gift in 2006 and has asked many female guests to use it.
In Demand and Howard TV have created a two hour long program called Sybian Documentary playing on local cable channels in February 2007. The Sybian remains in the Stern studio for use by willing guests.[7][8]
U.S. Loan Effort Is Seen as Adding to Housing Woes
ReplyDeleteSome economists contend that the Obama administration’s $75 billion program to prevent foreclosures has done more harm than good.
In April, Chase, which had taken over Washington Mutual, lowered her payment to $1,033.62 in a trial that was supposed to last three months.
Ms. Smith made all three payments on time and submitted required documents, Chase confirms. She called the bank almost weekly to inquire about a permanent loan modification. Each time, she says, Chase told her to continue making trial payments and await word on a permanent modification.
Then, in October, a startling legal notice arrived in the mail: Chase had foreclosed on her house and sold it at auction for $100. (The purchaser? Chase.)
“I cried,” she said. “I was hysterical. I bawled my eyes out.”
Later that week came another letter from Chase: “Congratulations on qualifying for a Making Home Affordable loan modification!”
When Ms. Smith frantically called the bank to try to overturn the sale, she was told that the house was no longer hers. Chase would not tell her how long she could remain there, she says. She feared the sheriff would show up at her door with eviction papers, or that she would return home to find her belongings piled on the curb. So Ms. Smith anxiously set about looking for a new place to live.
She had been planning to continue an online graduate school program in supply chain management, and she had about $4,000 in borrowed funds to pay tuition. She scrapped her studies and used the money to pay the security deposit and first month’s rent on an apartment.
Later, she hired a lawyer, who is seeking compensation from Chase. A judge later vacated the sale. Chase is still offering to make her loan modification permanent, but Ms. Smith has already moved out and is conflicted about what to do.
“I could have just walked away,” said Ms. Smith. “If they had said, ‘We can’t work with you,’ I’d have said: ‘What are my options? Short sale?’ None of this would have happened. God knows, I never would have wanted to go through this. I’d still be in grad school. I would not have paid all that money to them. I could have saved that money.”
