COLLECTIVE MADNESS
“Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people."
I wonder if the Democrats will be as enthusiastic in opening the sealed Chappaquiddick files as they are to look for crimes at the CIA?
ReplyDeleteI wonder who was more frightened, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, or Mary Jo Kopechne?
ReplyDeleteI'll go through the routine of saying my prayers for the soul of the dead, even though I don't think prayers for the dead generally help much, they have to face the music of what they have done in life, though sometimes I weaken a little, usually when I am considering my own position, or that of someone I love, and I'll go through the routine of saying my prayers for the dead.
ReplyDeleteIn a more earthly manner, I'm glad he's finally gone.
jeez, it took long enough.
Good......bye
ReplyDeleteIn the CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA we read that the destiny of the dead has to do with their behavior in life.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good thought, and better I think, than my Lutheran tradition, where we read that the destiny of souls has to do with their acceptance or rejection of Christ.
Being the free thinker I've grown up to be, I tend to the Catholic outlook.
And as I think there is always something more, with grace, I do wish the best for Ted Kennedy.
My wish has absolutely nothing to do with the matter however.
My wish has nothing to do with it.
A soul faces its own wonderful destiny.
And it will be wonderful, if there is love at the heart of it.
Best to Ted, the old scoundrel.
Well, lets not forget, the old bastard, he stood up for that relative that raped the girl on beach.
ReplyDeleteThis sticks home with me, let him burn in hell, theology be damned.
Fuck him, more I think about it.
Who was that Kennedy young turd that raped that young girl on the beach, and got away with it, with some fancy lawyer?
ReplyDeleteTo hell with all the Kennedys.
To hell with theology.
William Kennedy Smith --that's the prick.
ReplyDeleteLet them all burn in hell.
William Kennedy Smith--that is the bastard--out here we would hang him.
ReplyDeleteFuck all the Kennedys, theology be damned.
Welcome back, Bob.
