There are Too Many Mosques in This Country. Democrats Outraged at the Thought.

Democratic National Committee Loves these.

Rep. Peter King: There are "too many mosques in this country” The Crypt

New York Rep. Peter King, a prominent House Republican, said there are “too many mosques in this country” in a recent interview with Politico.

“There are too many people sympathetic to radical Islam,” King said. “We should be looking at them more carefully and finding out how we can infiltrate them.”

King is the ranking Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee. And as an outspoken advocate of strong anti-terror measures, he has been unafraid to ruffle some feathers in his drive to protect the homeland.

When asked to clarify his statement, King did not revise his answer, saying “I think there has been a lack of full cooperation from too many people in the Muslim community.” The interview was for a profile of the committee, as part of Politico’s Committee Insider Series.

Earlier, King had said in an interview with radio and television host Sean Hannity that 85 percent of the mosques in this country are controlled by “extremist leadership,” a comment that prompted strong condemnations from many religious organizations and from the Democratic National Committee.

  3. Judge a man's character by the dogma he subscribes to. Sharia and the constitution don't mix. Our ideas of human liberty as they have evolved in the west aren't found in the koran. I don't like biological images, but I can't help it, they are a virus, replicating in our body politic. Declare them subversive organisations, and save ourselves a lot of trouble down the line. We haven't gone through all our history in the west to end up arguing with these folks on our own turf. They are a threat to our way of life.

  12. Living in Bogata there may not be any great social pressure to even vote. Such is the hassle. Or maybe it's just like a mail in ballot here.
Went to the last local election, over in a 7th Day Adventist facility, voted in person. Normally now, just mail it in, at our leisure. Weeks before hand, quite convienent.

  13. "Living in Bogata there may not be any great social pressure to even vote."

Well for heavens sake why would there be?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well to the why ...
To influence some electoral event in your home State. Congressman, School Board or the like.
or because the Ambassador, the Head of Station or a General puts on an Election Participation Drive amongst the US population living in Columbia. Then there could be scial pressure to participate and vote.

Either could be motivation to vote.

I enjoy voting against sales and property tax increases, usually they pass.

  21. As Bobal pointed out earlier people will see and hear what they wish to see and hear. Peter King's conversational tone is typical of someone not carefully watching his words. You can see the video at Politico.com and decide for yourself what he meant. As for me, I can easily accept his clarification that he meant there are too many mosques preaching Wahhabist/Salafist theology. It will be extremly interesting to see if this story develops legs.

  30. All over the map:
Just finished "The Looming Tower" by Lawrence Wright and the excerpts from Rowan Scarborough's new book.

Maybe the authors were drinking from the same well but the portraits they painted of the CIA were appalling. Wright wrote of the animosity between Michael Scheurer and John O'Neill. But in fairness to Scheurer, O'Neill rubbed everyone the wrong way. Wright also wrote that the CIA took "the wall of separation" to extremes which the law did not require.

Scarborough's inside look at the Porter Goss year showed an agency with career bureaucrats more intent on fighting change than al-Qaeda.

    It's pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Turns out there was only one real expert:
    John Oneill.
No wonder they hated each other, Scheuer was faking it.
But he's antisemitic, so he gets the pass.
Would be interesting to see if Wright has read the follow-ups about Scheuer, and what he has to say about that.
Yet another example of the CIA tasking someone unfit for duty, see Joe Wilson.

  37. I've been reading the same book.

Mullah Omar professed to be totally surprised. 'I can't just give him to you to put on the plane,' Omar complained. 'after all, we provided him shelter.'

Prince Turki was stupefied by this turnabout. Mullah Omar lectured him on the Pashtu tribal code, which he said was quite strict about betraying guests.

Sheikh Abdullah Turki offered the opinion that if a guest breaks his word, as bin Laden had done repeatedly by granting press interviews, that action absolves the host who is protecting him. The Taliban leader was unconvinced.

Thinking that Omar needed a face-saving compromise, Prince Turki suggested that the two of them set up a committee that would explore ways to formally hand over bin Laden. Then Prince Turki and his party got up to leave. As he did so, Turki asked specifically,'Are you agreed in principle that you will give us bin Laden?'

    Mullah Omar said he was.

After the meeting, Saudi Arabia reportedly sent four hundred four wheel drive pick up trucks and other financial aid to the Taliban as a down payment for bin Laden. Six weeks later, the money and the trucks allowed the Taliban to retake Mazar-e-Sharif, a bastion of a Perisan speaking shiite minority, the Hazaras. Among the Taliban fighters were several hundred Arabs sent by bin Laden. Well placed bribes left a force of only 1500 Hazara soldiers guarding the city, and they were quickly killed. Once inside the defenseless city, the Taliban continued raping and killing for two days, indiscriminately shooting anything that moved, then slitting throats and shooting dead men in the testicles. The bodies of the dead were left to wild dogs for six days before surviovors were allowed to bury them. Those citizens who fled the city on foot were bombed by the Taliban air force. Hundreds of others were loaded into shipping containers and baked alive in the desert sun. The UN estimated the total number of victims in the slaughter to be between five and six thousand people. They included ten Iranian diplomats and a journalist, whom the Taliban rounded up and shot in the basement of the Iranian consulate. Four hundred women were taken to be concubines. pg267-268

He now treats the son with the same contempt he treated the father with, which is why it’s so odd that the son hired his dad’s nemesis in the first place.

He actually had the gall to imply to Ms. DePaulo that he was out of the loop on Iraq and dragged out a copy of a memo he had written outlining all the things that could go wrong.

    DEUTERONOMY 22

[13] If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, [14] And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: [15] Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: [16] And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; [17] And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. [18] And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him

EXODUS 21: 20 If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

  66. 'but to fulfill them' which might mean make them better, as in Jesus took the best of his tradition, and enhanced it{as in don't stone this woman}- (according to the Christian understanding.) 67. John 8:7 "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.
    ///////////

the contention that this means that the bible is against execution in general is false. what this passage is about execution for adultery.
    in this passage
the jews were about to stone a woman for adultery. Jesus said. John 8:7 "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.

    So everyone walked away.

Jesus said to the adulteress"Go and sin no more."

the ten commandments does not say "thou shalt not kill" rather it says "thou shalt not murder"

when jesus hung on the cross. he didn't condemn the romans for hanging the criminals on his two sides. neither did he condemn them for hanging him. He was after all the sin bearer.

every single passage of the bible has to be read in context. because the bible taken out of context can be made to mean anything.
