Just one little thought. The British elite will be going through angst trying to understand why the inclusion part of the multi-cultural life and death social experiment is not working so well. The majority of society has probably come to the conclusion that they do not care why it does not work. There is a simple solution. Revoke the privilege. Send the ingrates home and deny access to others. How difficult is that?
Here is a great wrap-up with photos.
The Daily Mail
From the Telegraph:
ReplyDeleteSo far in the aftermath of the attacks it has emerged that:
• The same two men may have been responsible for the Glasgow and the London bomb attempts;
• Police were on the trail of the suspected bombers before the airport attack and narrowly missed tracking them down;
• Doctors and a woman are in custody;
• Police are still hunting at least one suspect;
• Experts revealed the attack on Glasgow airport aimed to kill and maim hundreds in a massive fireball;
• Gordon Brown has raised the prospect of detaining suspects without charge for more than 28 days and allowing the use of phone-tap evidence in court.
The Daily Telegraph has learnt that the same two men may have been responsible for all three car bombs.
Officers raided the house of Dr Mohammed Asha, in Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, at around 10pm on Saturday night. They are now searching a second address in the area.
Neighbours said Asha was a Lebanese doctor working at the North Staffordshire Hospital, Stoke, and lived there with his wife and baby boy. Asha, 26, and a woman of 27 were arrested as police cornered them on the M6 near Sandbach, Cheshire. Police sources said Asha was arrested as he approached Sandbach services driving north.
In Liverpool, people living near houses raided by police said they believed the occupants were medical students.
They said two young Asian men had moved into the house, off Penny Lane, a few months ago.
Well, that nails it, illiteracy and poverty, the root causes of terrorism.
ReplyDeleteThe Underclasses don't even get to participate in Baseball anymore.
ReplyDeleteJust the elite.
"But Bush did not try to cut a deal with Rangel, chatting instead about baseball.
"He talked a lot about the Rangers,"
Rangel said.
"I didn't know what the hell he was talking about."
Here is an example of another terrorist doctor, this one in Pakistan, he went for nuclear terror, instead of car bombs, and has been pardoned by the General President.
ReplyDeleteAnother illiterate, driven by poverty?
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (Associated Press) -- Authorities have eased the virtual house arrest imposed on A.Q. Khan, the disgraced scientist who sold Pakistan's nuclear secrets to Iran, North Korea and Libya, officials said Monday.
In what is believed to be his first public comment in about three years, Khan told The Associated Press that he was recovering from treatment for cancer, but declined to discuss other topics.
Khan, 71, the architect of Pakistan's nuclear program, confessed in 2004 to heading an international ring of smugglers that supplied sensitive technology to Iran and others.
President Gen. Pervez Musharraf pardoned him while confining him to his tightly guarded villa in the capital, Islamabad. He has been permitted few visitors.
However, two senior government officials told the AP that the restrictions were eased several months ago and that Khan could now meet friends and relatives either at his home or elsewhere in Pakistan.
"He is virtually a free citizen," said one of the officials, who is attached to the nuclear program.
In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
ReplyDeleteOf every head he's had the pleasure to know.
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello.
On the corner is a banker with a motorcar,
The little children laugh at him behind his back.
And the banker never wears a mac
In the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and mean while back
In penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen.
He likes to keep his fire engine clean,
It's a clean machine.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
Full of fish and finger pies
In summer, meanwhile back
Behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout
The pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she's in a play
She is anyway.
In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer,
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim.
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back.
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies,
Penny Lane.
She gotta ruby lips, she got shapely hips
ReplyDeleteThe scene was a church dance in the town Greely, Colorado in 1949. Someone put on a recording of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” which had just hit the charts that year. As Qutb described it, “The dance hall convulsed to the tunes on the gramophone and was full of bounding feet and seductive legs ... Arms circled waists, lips met lips, chests met chests, and the atmosphere was full of passion.”
Looks like everyone was having a great time. But, alas, not poor Sayyid, who already held his fellow students in contempt. The young men he considered sports-obsessed oafs. The women clearly intimidated him. “The American girl is well acquainted with her body’s seductive capacity,” he wrote. “She knows it lies in the face, and in expressive eyes, and thirsty lips. She knows seductiveness lies in the round breasts, the full buttocks, and in the shapely thighs, sleek legs — and she shows all this and does not hide it.”
Sounds like he needed a date badly. But from this point on Qutb was at war with what he defined as immorality. His followers have sought to externalize his biases and impose a rigid code of behavior on any people unfortunate enough to come under their sway.
So from this sock hop we get a global ideological struggle with terrorist fanatics? Well, there is more to it, clearly. But when Qutb’s ideological stepchildren seek to bomb nightclubs in London, when they assert that no one could believe that the “slags dancing around” could possibly be innocent victims, we see the same hatred, the same disdain, the same vision of a world in which enjoyment of any kind is by its nature sinful.
I was reminded of a story from Afghanistan in 2001. When the Taliban regime fell, a group of Northern Alliance fighters celebrated by playing music that previously had been banned. Some women soldiers began to dance. One of the younger men watched raptly, and then began to cry. He had never seen a woman dance before — he said it was the most beautiful thing he had ever witnessed. I thought then that this was a microcosm of the war and its meaning, the reason it was being fought and why it must be won. We see it again in London. This war is not simply a contest of grievances, or a difference of opinions, but a defense of the human spirit, of the right of people to express that spirit, to sing, to dance, to live.
westhawk has a piece about Mr al-Hakim, the leader of the Supreme Council forIslamic Revolution Iraq, or wait they dropped the "revolution" since its' occurred, with the US military doing the lifting and carrying the water.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Mr al-Hakim, who has visited with Mr Bush at the White House has cancer and may soon die. In any case he's out of the loop.
His 36 year old son now is the US's best hope for reconciliation, we're in the deep caca.
As Hakim undergoes chemotherapy in Iran, his 36-year-old son, Amar, has emerged as heir apparent, already assuming many of his father's duties, Iraqi officials say.
Amar al-Hakim, who wears rimless glasses and a neatly trimmed beard, is one of a new generation of clerics, including radical Moqtada al-Sadr, who now define the spectrum of Shiite politics.
"The Hakims run events inside the tent, and Sadr runs them outside the tent," said a senior Iraqi diplomat, a reference to Sadr's role as the main Shiite challenger.
The younger Hakim claims he bridges both worlds. "Let me tell you a secret," he said in an interview during a recent visit to New York. "My father is a Hakim, but my mother is from the al-Sadr family. So I'm the unifier!"
So things are looking up, aye?
Sad to again (again) that Great Britain is the hotbed of European Islamic radicalism. The English have had their heads so far up their politically correct backsides that they were unable to see the damage done by their multicultural sensitivity. You reap what you sow.
ReplyDeleteFor too many years our educational institutions have taught our young people a curriculum which is long on historical revisionism and short on Western Civilization. The great rainbow of humanism has made it difficult to convince many people of the dangers ahead.
But, let's not rush to judgment until all the facts are in and hey, these Doctors are foreigners, not our own homegrown Muslim lads.
(CNN) -- The U.S. Embassy's top military official in Cyprus has been found dead in a wooded area north of Nicosia, the island's capital, an embassy official said Monday.
ReplyDeleteThe senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told CNN that police had located the body of Lt. Col. Thomas Mooney, the embassy's military attache, in the Lefka region, but refused to elaborate.
""My father is a Hakim, but my mother is from the al-Sadr family.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm the unifier!""

Somewhere along the line I lost my bee sting kits, so I went to a clinic to get a couple of epi-pens, for which you need a prescription. Really friendly Hindu doctor named Sanjay something, bright, wanted to know all about Idaho, humorous, wanted to know how I was doing with my karma, there is the kind of immigrant I go for. You are not going to have to worry about a car bomb with a guy like that. Welcome to America, Sanjay.

Tim Blair provides a
fine example of why The New York Times is an unreliable guide to the ways of the world:
In July 2005, four suicide bombers killed 52 people on London’s transit system, and another set of attacks failed two weeks later, bringing home to Britain fears of homegrown terrorist attacks among its disenfranchised South Asian population. Witnesses said the two men in the Glasgow attack were South Asian.

Well, amigos, when Mr Bush and the Republican Congress rolled over on Hamdan, the warning lights flashed red.
ReplyDeleteBut the true believers were unconcerned, character was all that matter. How right they were.
When the President and his supporteers would not stand for right, they were wrong. Not pragmatic. Not resourceful, but dead wrong.
The fruits of their ill concieved remedy are being harvested in the Federal Courts, by the enemies of Civil Liberty, hell, any liberty at all.
Impunity for al-Qaeda
Title of an interesting piece in the WaPo, don't say we weren't warned. There is no War on Terror, nor even terrorists, today. Not while they are men without a country, that's the Law of the Land, thanks to Hamdan and the Presidents' and the Congressional remedy.

"The Implications of a Bad Ruling on 'Unlawful Enemy Combatants'
Seems we were, elijah, on 4 Mar 07 the MNF released (Release A070304c) to the press information referring to the capture of weapons smugglers and traffickers.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the names are not mentioned, all the other pieces fit, where, what, why. They did not know the who, but when they did become aware, that information was released, as well. The report you linked to exemplifies that fact.
No hidden operations, nothing in the shadows. Seems Mr Ali Mussa Daqduq was outed to the US public pretty dang quick, once they knew who he was. Obviosly not tortured, or they'd have known he was not mute, sooner. Not summarily executed, either.

RatWaPoLink:
ReplyDelete"By substituting its will for that of Congress and the president, the court's decision would strip the initiative from U.S. forces and transform the war on terror into a reactive policing function --
exactly the posture America was in on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
As Justice Robert Jackson wrote long ago, for all its obvious virtues the Constitution is not a suicide pact.
The court should quickly overturn this decision so that Jackson's words will continue to be true."
Really, doug, the important paragraph of that article is the one that describes the current conditon, legally, of the War on Terrorists
ReplyDelete... last month's decision in the case of Al-Marri v. Wright-- a decision that denied the existence of the legal category "unlawful enemy combatant" in America's conflict with al-Qaeda.
For those that do not keep up on the legalities of the US efforts, at home and abroad.
It IS the ROP,

ReplyDelete"...political and diplomatic intuitive dwarfism..."
That's a helluva clinical diagnosis.
Will you expand on the Johnsonian v. Wilsonian comparison for us, dear host?
I suggested "Ninny."
ReplyDeleteOne could, it seems, go through the MNF releases, tabulate the numbers of folk that have been detained, then compare that to the numbers of convictions in the CCCI.
ReplyDeleteIt might not be an exact tally, but it would provide a broad picture of the realities.
The data is there, if one had a mind to mine it.
No "Oowees?"
ReplyDeleteTrish will be pleased.

I'm sorry, interrogators are supposed to want to go jail? Live and die by FM 34-52. Or find yourself another line of work. Them's the rules.
It took 'em a couple of weeks to discover who he was? That's par for the course.
Not to put to fine a point on it, ascertaining that he's not a deaf-mute is not the same as uncovering his identity, which is again not the same as uncovering his particular purpose. Everyone's just a poor deaf-mute. Everyone's just a farmer. Everyone's just a merchant. Everyone's just a pilgrim. Everyone's just a student. Don't nobody know nuthin' 'bout nuthin'.
On just the first page of the MNF press releases, 196 folks were said to be detained, from Thursday 28 Jun through Monday 2 July.
ReplyDeleteIt also announcesd that 46 people were convicted in the CCCI.
While, in all likelyhood, not a large enough sample to be totally statisticly accurate, the quick sketch indicates 25% of those detained are eventually convicted.
Right inline with Mr Wests' report.
"... last month's decision in the case of Al-Marri v. Wright-- a decision that denied the existence of the legal category 'unlawful enemy combatant' in America's conflict with al-Qaeda."
ReplyDeleteBecause there IS no legal category 'unlawful enemy combatant.'
The administration, after touting its rejection of the law enforcement approach to counter-terrorism, kept the law enforcement approach to counter-terrorism. What innovative good they supposed the courts were going to do them in this matter, is beyond me.
Think: Sweet Potatoes in Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteThe "Trick" is in the Intermediate Step.
Recall, trish, how so many argued that we had abandoned the law-enforcement approach, in the face of the facts that we had not.
ReplyDeleteHow Mr JFKerry was pilloried for advocating that approach, while the Bush Team, rhetoric aside, was implementing just such a law enforcement "war".
The big spin, played US like a record.
What I'd be curious to see is a thorough investigation of this and other jihadi doctors for possible involvement in the injury of their patients though deliberate negligence.
ReplyDelete.. through deliberate negligence.

ReplyDeleteYou're reading these numbers first here at MyDD.
During the second quarter, Barack Obama brought in $10.3 million dollars online, or about a third of the $32.5 million he raised overall this quarter. This ups his total online haul for the year to $17.2 million. Both of these online fundraising numbers are very large and indeed are records for this point in the campaign.
Since the beginning of the campaign 110,000 people have given online to the Obama campaign, or more than 40 percent of his donors. For year year, 90 percent of the online donations to the Obama campaign have been in amounts of $100 dollars or less, and a half of the online donations have been in amounts of $25 or less.

Fox News reports tonight that Scooter Libby will not be going to jail. He has not been pardoned but the President has commuted his sentence. He will not have to serve the two years but the fine and the probation will stand.
ReplyDeleteThis is only partial justice for Libby whose fine is $250,000. This is a political conviction. Simply read your local paper's "letters to the editor" to see that the left wishes to see anyone in Bush's administration serve hard time for Iraq. Unopposed, everyone associated with Bush will be hounded and persecuted by the left. Paul Wolfowitz, John Bolton, Scooter Libby are the victims of a vendetta.
