A frightening, compelling, revealing, revolting read from the American Thinker:
Cultural MarxismFrom the article, you might remember when this story was in the news:
By Linda Kimball
By the end of WWI, socialists realized that something was amiss, for the world's proletariat had not heeded Marx's call to rise up in opposition to evil capitalism and to embrace communism instead. They wondered what had gone wrong.
Separately, two Marxist theorists-Antonio Gramsci of Italy and Georg Lukacs of Hungary-concluded that the Christianized West was the obstacle standing in the way of a communist new world order. The West would have to be conquered first.
Gramsci posited that because Christianity had been dominant in the West for over 2000 years, not only was it fused with Western civilization, but it had corrupted the workers class. The West would have to be de-Christianized, said Gramsci, by means of a "long march through the culture." Additionally, a new proletariat must be created. In his "Prison Notebooks," he suggested that the new proletariat be comprised of many criminals, women, and racial minorities.
The new battleground, reasoned Gramsci, must become the culture, starting with the traditional family and completely engulfing churches, schools, media, entertainment, civic organizations, literature, science, and history. All of these things must be radically transformed and the social and cultural order gradually turned upside-down with the new proletariat placed in power at the top.
"In Aug., 2003, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the results of their $1.2 million tax-payer funded study. It stated, essentially, that traditionalists are mentally disturbed. Scholars from the Universities of Maryland, California at Berkeley, and Stanford had determined that social conservatives...suffer from ‘mental rigidity,' ‘dogmatism,' and ‘uncertainty avoidance,' together with associated indicators for mental illness." http://www.edwatch.org/ ‘Social and Emotional Learning" Jan. 26, 2005)I remember that the research was dismissed as being "exceptionally leftist." Unfortunately, simply "dismissing" a problem doesn't dispatch it.
Even the terms used in the article are both frightening and distasteful. Words like "Cultural Marxism and polymorphous perversion," are ominous and threatening. Critical Theory and Cultural Determinism seem diabolical. The article is a catalog of nightmares.
Critical TheoryIf you hold a Judaeo-Christian based, traditionalist worldview, this article will strike a chord as it confirms your fears. You'll understand and you'll realize that the dark assault on Western Civilization is much worse and more sinister than you had imagined and given the accelerated decline of the west, you might even think it's supernatural.
Critical theory is yet another psychological ‘command and control' device. As stated by Daniel J. Flynn, "Critical Theory, as its name implies, criticizes. What deconstruction does to literature, Critical Theory does to societies." (Intellectual Morons, p 15-16)
Critical Theory is an ongoing and brutal assault via vicious criticism relentlessly leveled against Christians, Christmas, the Boy Scouts, Ten Commandments, our military, and all other aspects of traditional American culture and society.

Thanks for the link harrison. Your site is going through a nice transition, and while I am at it Tiger's Observanda is also carrying the link.
ReplyDeleteRussia had Lysenkoism,
ReplyDeletewe've got "Global Warming."
Critical theory indeed.
Hewitt interviewed General Odom, now refers to him as the Peacenik General.
Determined that he knows nowhere near as much about our enemies as any of us.
Doesn't stop him from applying his version of critcal theory to Bush policy as though he were a strategic genius.
Also, don't miss classic Steyn interview, posted at Hewitt's site.
Germany and other countries are already paying CHINA for global warming credits in order to build new plants.
ReplyDeleteChina is to take an equal amount of CO2 emissions-producing plant offline in exchange.
...but at the same time they are free to build an additional 1,200 Coal Burning Generators!
Brave New World Indeed!
Interesting bit of cultural identitiy bubbling to the surface of the caldrun.
ReplyDeleteMr Obama it seems is not a Black man. Not the decendent of slaves, so he is undeserving of "blackness".
Saw a lady talking this line on TV the other night, thought it funny.
Now at RCP Ms Dowd and others are linked, following that storyline.
Obama the blonde?
America's first black President, Bill Clinton, will not let his ho be flanked, oh no. The Plantation workers are already out in the fields sowing seed.
Obama the blonde.

"New Knowledge," (at the crossroads)
ReplyDeleteMultidisciplined, of course:
"Under her leadership, Radcliffe has emerged as one of the nation's foremost centers of scholarly and creative enterprise, distinctive for its multidisciplinary focus and the exploration of new knowledge at the crossroads of traditional fields.
In recognition of its roots in Radcliffe College, the Institute maintains a special commitment to the study of women, gender, and society. "
DR,
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the colored/negro/black/afro-american/people of color race hustlers have finally shown their true colors. Being white, I am not supposed to notice color, but Obama is not only not descended from slaves, he is not sub-Saharan. He is practically a Viking. A Viking of Color. He may as well call himself Barak Obamunsson.
I am none to fond of Mr Obama, but he's just another of the other. Nothing really remarkable about the fellow, one way or another.
ReplyDeleteHe has as much chance of becoming President as Jerry Brown did, less in fact.
But the "Long Knives" are out, already. Obama not an authentic blackman, now that's some kind of Course to chart.
Who Dares Wins.
Having grown up with many black friends, my experience has been that one of the first things black people notice about other black people is their color, ie, the shade of blackness. So, to me, the question of how "black" is Obama seems quite natural to hear from black people, but it sounds odd coming from people that are not black.

Willisms
To aid my son in a debate with his "economic" teacher, I dug up some others last evening, but Willisms does a fine job for sighted folk.
Cultural Marxism, Political Correctness...
ReplyDeleteCorsi, Atomic Iran -
...The Left tends to see Islamic theocracies as just another political choice, perhaps not the one we would choose to live under, but then who are we to say for them? That is the core of the argument. The Left wants to be value relative even when it comes to Islamic terrorists. Aren't they just another brand of "freedom fighter," maybe not our hero, but a hero to Muslims? That's the difficulty that eats at the heart of the Far Left.
Unfortunately, world events do not bode well for the Far Left controlled democratic party.
Fallaci, The Rage and the Pride -
During a synod that the Vatican held on October 1999 to discuss the rapports between Christians and Muslims, an eminent Islam scholar declared, "by means of your democracy we shall invade you, by means of our religion we shall dominate you."

The idea that, now that China is at the table, the NorKs will toe the line, is cause for giggles.
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing for China, in regards NorK, is stability. A few millon NorK refugees flooding into China is a scenario the Chinese will work to avoid.
The NorKs promise to talk, the South and China stabilize Mr Kim's base. Shipping the energy needed to keep the place functioning, such as it is.
Atop the plains roiled a turmoil ascendant and spiraling, writhing like an animal before dissipating.
ReplyDeleteStaring at the unflinching abyss, Larsen laid his firearm across his lap, silent before the thundering and menacing dirt.
"How many you reckon?"
Before his one eye, Habu raised a looking glass, and looked upon the violence with both his sight and gored socket.
A carnival of horribles, hundreds in number, some atop bicycles and others atop cars and trucks, and others leaning from or standing on top of unnameable contraptions, sputtering black fumes like hellish ghouls enslaved to twisted and rusted metal carapaces. Some had faces covered with surgeon's masks and others had swaddled their faces in cloth, some bore flags of nations and others of icons long since dead but newly defined, and some were naked but for skirts of coarse fabrics that billowed into their faces as they clung to the outside of vehicles while others ambled atop stilts, although dressed in the looming black vestiges of death. Some held kites that spun aloft and others sprinted forward wearing only boots, their flesh reddened by sun and filthy by the earth. Some were covered in black but for the slits of menacing eyes and ran at pace as if possessed, and others wore beads and stringed bones and plastic symbols around their necks and metal barbs and bolts pierced all manner of flesh, glinting in the sun as they charged, and some with painted and tattooed faces, and one with strands of torn fabric of every color flapping from every limb as he clung to a van, raising a glass pipe skyward in ambiguous defiance. Onward they rushed, jesters of doom, and from the mask of dust and soot and sulfur came a female rider, atop a spurred ass, who shrieked as if maddened to murder by illness or evil, "To tolerance, to peace, to dignity!"
And behind her they followed, like a writhing parade, a people beyond reckoning, coming upon the two riders like a derelict judgment bereft of God and man.
"Oh my god"
Good to see the horror of Gramscian subversion of western society highlighted on EB. I'm guilty of soapbox monologues on the subject on other blogs, have avoided it here up to now.
