World Diplomacy, Discussing Nuclear Proliferation, The Future of Mankind

Scanning the news sites this morning, I was looking for something fresh. Chavez, Putin, no they are not fresh. I am sick of Foley and the stupid twerpy pages. Phony pretty boy politicians like Harold Ford who according to Don Imus is the second coming of something or another. An over paid baseball player that flies an airplane into a Manhattan apartment building. Jimmy Carter and Korea, well that one will break your teeth. How did he win a Nobel Peace Prize and get a nuclear submarine named after him at the same time? The Carter Center? No, no, no, but then I saw this little ditty of a headline:

U.S., China at odds over North Korea sanctions

You can read the entire predictable article yourself

This turned into a real "holy shit" moment for me. They are at odds already? We were in such a good solidarity and multilateralistical mood when I went to bed. I wonder what happened? What happened to the high level discussions and the need to protect the world from nuclear weapons popping up in some very scary places? Maybe the Chinese are afraid the sanctions won't work or maybe they are afraid they will, but don't make Kim look like a geo-political genius. No wonder GWB is always running to the gym and Clinton always needed a hummer. Man to man I can understand, really, I can.

  1. Wonder if that station is connected to the Iraqi comedy show that we heard from earlier?

As to the Chinese, why be surprised? The Chinese fear a destabilized NorK more than a nuclear armed one.

They know the Nipponese can "arm up" in an instant. If Tokyo decides to militarize, it just feeds the antiJap nationalistic rage that the Chicoms have been promoting on the Mainland. A plus for the Chicoms, from their perspective.

No, a destabilized NorK is China's and SouK's greatest fear. Refugees, Warlords, Huge relief effort all would follow Kim's ouster.

  2. H/T to Lucianne

Jonah Goldberg brings us back to the weakness of multi-culti: no framework of right and wrong. If everything is relative, then, nothing really matters.

  3. Heard youtube pulled Ms Albright's parody from it's lineup of programing.
    Seems it was deemed
    "inappropriate material".

  4. Well, YouTube is Google, now, and Google is Tranzi all the way. Damn, why do we keep using 'em so much? well--they're good, and it's the Problem of the Commons, in reverse.
