So whatever happens is really none of your business. You make a Federal case of it because you think it makes Israel look bad. Circumcision is also practiced by many Muslims. Failure to obey Sharia would have been bad news for the mother – hanging at the end of a rope from a crane cannot rationally be compared to a fine that may be overturned.

But again, my little isolationist, what happens in Israel is none of your business. They had them in a huge outside enclosure and could bring them inside in the winter or when needed. As a kid, it always seemed like a pretty sweet set-up for them.

Then we got a new Zoo director, young guy, smart. Anyway it turned out one of the elephants was starting to develop some arthritis from walking on the concrete in the cold weather when they weren't outside. The Director does the research and finds a sanctuary out in California similar to the one in Tennessee. And he decides to send them out there. Once he explained his decision the regular zoo visitors, they bought into it and applauded the decision. Were he caught flack was from other zoos around the country who fought it every step of the way. Evidently, there is a national zoo organization and one of their policies is to offer the animals up to other zoos if a particular zoo decides it has to get rid of them.

When the elephants got there it was the same story as depicted in your video. One of the elephants was kind of shy but eventually she took to the new environment. Unfortunately, I saw the following story in the local newspaper last year.

http://www.freep.com/article/20130218/NEWS07/130218052/Detroit-Zoo-Wanda-Winky-s-sanctuary-founder-elephant-expert-Pat-Derby-dies

.Quirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00272168240606512672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21297199.post-44680976309575701722014-01-12T13:48:13.262-05:002014-01-12T13:48:13.262-05:00"Separation is the plan. Your last paragraph above does start to venture into what I consider the more problematic areas of an Israel as defined as a Jewish state. Specifically "As to strangers living within Israel (most for generations)l..." suggests an "us" and "them" that could prove problematic.

My main point in all this is that the specifics of how goyim are treated in Israel may be a cause for concern but the main point of contention, in my view, is that requiring acceptance of Israel being a Jewish state as a condition of peace is simply a move to hinder the peace process reflecting Israels lack of desire to reach agreement. Palestinians and other non-Jews who have lived in Israel for generations (many dating back to before Israel's founding) or may live in Israel in the future (i.e. the ever expanding boundaries of Israel) should be included as citizens equal to Jewish citizens. The simple fact that Israel is "Jewish" suggests that Goyim in Israel would be just what their name implies "non-jew" hence different vis a vis the State.

I appreciate your attempt at specifics!Ashhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16688752302081088907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21297199.post-15842581799058425762014-01-12T13:19:24.088-05:002014-01-12T13:19:24.088-05:00.
